My Seattle native and good friend suggested it wasn't a bad place to try. I am always bad mouthing one of his favorite Washington metro burger establishments that starts with D and ends with an s. But this review is about Burgermaster. It took a long time for a server to approach the car. She was very friendly and great with people. It was pleasant to see that she loved what she was doing. I felt that the burger lacked any seasoning. I ordered the burger with no onions. It had onions on it. Not the end of the earth, I pulled them off. Onion rings were decent. I know none on the sandwich but order separately. The fellas give me grief about my restaurant ways all the time. I also had a banana milkshake that ended up being the best part of the meal. At the end of the day, I would eat there again, I just would not go out of my way to return. read more

Offer Gluten-free buns but if you are sensitive to wheat contamination, be extremely cautious here as I've been exposed on two different occasions. It's not unexpected with a fast food restaurant and doesn't necessarily reflect poorly upon them just that diners should be aware of it. This place is amazing! They have so many options for all types of diets and most of their food is locally sourced. It's a fun drive-in style place and they bring the food right out to your car. The burgers are great and lots of options for additional toppings. They also have a bunch of milkshake flavors too. My favorite is the root beer one, literally a better version of a root beer float! Burgermaster in Mount Vernon is our "go to" when we are looking for a night off from cooking and want a great meal without having to go into a restaurant. The service is wonderful and the food is consistently great! All of the car hops that we've had have been attentive and friendly and our order is always correct. We decided to drive down here from Bellingham after it was recommended to me by a friend. I have to say that this is probably the best burger I've had in literally 2 years! I went with the Baconmaster extra and it did not disappoint. The burger was hot, the cheese was melted to perfection, the bacon was nice and crispy, the shredded lettuce was fresh and their burger sauce gave it the perfect kick. The fries were served piping hot with ketchup and they have Mr.Pibb! Burgermaster easily crushes all of the competition in all of Whatcom county. I love the idea of an old fashioned drive in with high quality, local beef burgers. I finally got to stop in to Burgermaster Mt. Vernon this Saturday, and I loved it! The service was great and the food was really good! They have lots of different toppings available for your burger, which is nice. The burger itself was juicy and loaded with fresh toppings. It kind of reminded me of a Five Guys burger. The fries were crispy and served in a round sleeve, perfect for your cup holder! OK, let's face it. There are a lot of choices for hamburgers in the United States. But let me tell you, these guys do it right, and a price that is very nice. First of all, it's a drive in. You can pull your car in and read the menu and then they just asked you to turn on your headlights when you're ready to order. A real, living, customer service person comes out and takes your order. Super friendly, super personable, and not the squawk you get from the normal drive-through. They are fast and the burgers are great! It's as if they offer you the whole cow, walking it out with a bell around it's neck... And they carve the beef right off the living cow. The cow may moo a few times, it will be fine! They they walk it back in, grinding the amazing beef and cooking it... Pouring you a nice cold Coke or an amazing milkshake! The french fries are hot, they almost hurt so pick up at your own risk. Give them a few minutes! The options for dipping sauces are great! As you hear the clank clank clank of the cowbell being walked back to its station, you can fire up some music and talk with your passenger... Or make loving googly eyes at your girlfriend. In 5 to 7 minutes do you have the exact juicy hot burger you ordered... Smiles all around! And you'll probably see some other cool cars lined up with you... I finally had a chance to try Burgermaster, and I just don't think it lives up to all of the hype I've heard about it. I had a Cheeseburger and fries, and I have to say I was a little let down. The Cheeseburger was okay, I finished it, but it was nothing exciting, the bun was about as cheap as they could go, the cheese was boring, the sauce wasn't that great, and the fries were lackluster. I think there are far better places in Skagit Valley to get a much better burger for the same price, or less. The price may be higher due to the beef being higher quality, but they need to bring the rest of the burger up in quality before I would go back and try it again. Dine-in-car experience. Servers were friendly, comforting, and swift. The burgers are the reason to come here: beef is top notch. Bacon cheese burger and the mushroom swiss burger with GRILLED onions are our recommended items. There was on outdoor picnic table observed outside and a small "bar-style" seating area inside the building that had about 8 seats. The vast majority of patrons dine inside their own vehicle. Restrooms were clean- they are located near the bar seating area. Spare knapkins, spoons, straws, salt and pepper located indoors by the bat area also. We will never come back! $24 for2 2-piece fish and chips and one milkshake. Complete disappointment. I don't think the fish they used were legal because these fish fillets were small, overcooked, and not much flavor. Thank goodness for tartar sauce. I asked the waitress if this is what the fish was supposed to look like and she said "yes". No other words were exchanged. Fillet o fish at McDonald's would've been a better choice. The fries were the same caliber, thin, bland, and cheap. Do not order the fish and chips if you come to Burgermaster you also will be sorely disappointed. We brought our food home to eat The food was so good! They know how to fry a burger, not dried out but those old fashioned kind that drips on your chin when you are talking a bite, nice and juicy! I'm not sure if the food is worth the price. We were craving burgers last night, and I said I'd hit Burgermaster for the first time and bring some home. We ordered a Cheeseburger, a Cheeseburger with bacon (no veggies), and a Baconmaster. We added a regular fry, a small fry and an order of onion rings. $31.77. No drinks. The food was OK, and the ingredients were fresh. The onion rings were probably the best item we tried. But the price was too high. We agreed that for more than $10 a person (without drinks, mind you), we might as well have gone to Five Guys, gotten our burgers customized exactly how we wanted them, and gotten much better fries (and more of them) for the price. I doubt we'll go back, unless we just want to hang out at a drive-up on a nice evening. read more

Yum. This place earns the name Burgermaster. Very tasty homemade burgers, crisp and tasty fries, and amazing milkshakes (we had strawberry). The portions are a generous size, the prices are reasonable, and the beef is grass-fed. I recommend the burgermelt (as it is the only one I've tried so far)...personalize it for yourself by choosing your own condiments. Staff is friendly, bathrooms are nice and clean, and the parking lot is tidy. It is a drive-in, and does not have any additional seating, so you are eating in your vehicle if you are eating at the restaurant. It would be nice to have an option (perhaps a few picnic tables outside) but really that is a small complaint, and the only shortfall really. Definitely a gem worth driving to Mt Vernon for. read more

First and last visit. This "fast food" was anything but. I ordered at 5:20 per my receipt and drove out at 5:44; naturally the food was cold by the time I got it home. The initial service was fast but only got half my order and was missing drink and fries. I waited over 5 min before I could get anyone's attention then was told I had to pay more. Even though I specifically asked what size drink came with the burger combo the server admitted she didn't realize I wanted an actual combo (though I did get a drink). Same with the kid's meal. Ordered a burger kid's meal and got just the burger; no fries no drink. So after paying more and being told it would be "super fast" I waited another 10 minutes for my fries and drinks. Tried again to wave someone down to just give the food back and cancel when they finally came; no apologies or word just a quick pass off. Got home to cold food and soggy buns to discover my son's burger wasn't even made correctly and that my husband's salad was just cheap, chopped iceberg and a small handful of chicken; not even a full serving of meat. My son's kid's meal was just a flat, lifeless patty. I only asked for a few toppings and didn't expect much but it was so thin it looked like cafeteria food. There's nothing special about the food and it's way overpriced for what you get. I might expect a lengthy 20 plus minute wait time at a sit down restaurant but not for "fast food". Since it took so long a little courtesy would have gone a long way. Mistakes happen but it would have been nice to not have been charged or at the very least for the burgers to have been re-made so all the food was fresh and hot. Can't expect an almost 25 minute wait time and have food still be of satisfactory quality. I hate there's no local Facebook page to write to. I downloaded yelp just to share my experience. read more

We always take our dogs here on the way home from trips up north, today on this rainy day we had to get them out of the house so we drove north, took the dogs to Burgermaster. We get them hamburger patties, today the guy not only cut up the patties for us but also but it on separate plates for our dogs. They were in heaven. We found this place on Yelp and as we were driving through to Seattle decided to drop in. It was SuPER clean and a lovely server popped out to serve us at our car. We chose to eat at one of the picnic tables instead of in our car and marvelled at the cleanliness of the place - no garbage or sticky tables anywhere in the parking lot. The salad with crispy chicken was great and fresh, and the burger was wonderful! Same with the fries, onion rings and milkshake. We would go again. Nothing outstanding about these burgers and there was nothing memorable about them. All in all they were good, the beef patty didn't have very much flavor and the ratio of veggies to meat wasn't right. It was fresh tomato and onion but a thick slice of each and the entire slice of onion, a bit overwhelming, all I could taste in the end was onion. The buns were good, soft and held up to the burger, but again these just weren't juicy or very flavorful, and tasted under seasoned (the beef). The fries tasted just like McDonalds, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference if I had both in front of me. Service was prompt, but we were only one of two cars there, so that's what I would expect. The prices seemed HIGH, I get its grass fed but with such a minimally sized patty it seemed high, especially when a double patty double cheese combo with fries and a drink will set you back $14!!!!
