Three Times' A Charm [not] Taco Time Getting Better and Better Is it this location, or is Chipolte going down hill? Disappointing produce quality and rice and bean quantity [on a veggie bowl, whattheheck!?]. Wow. Even the drinks tasted bad. [Something tasted off about the drinks from machine; not fresh.] The staff, busy and stressed. Very little interaction at all here. And this is my third time since March [a couple months] at this location. What happened to Chipotle? This restaurant was top tier fast food, but i guess time changes things. Actually ...initially [circa mid 00s, Woodland Hills, CA] my intuition said no, way back in the early 00s in California, but i rarely eat restaurants unless super clean, and there were the E. coli scares, back years ago, too. i like eating kosher, cause everything is washed at least three times. Anyway, i dont want to mess around. But i might have to try it again, cause my parents really loved their dinners i brought them. This Smokey Point location has been their intro to Chipotle. They are not used to eating out, but just moved to an old folks home in Smokey Point. Next time [if there is one] i will try ordering in person and see if that makes a difference. UPDATE: Although I have contacted Chipotle repeatedly about the issues described, no corrective action or apology has been issued. Now that I have chosen to make my experience public, Chipotle is actively engaging me. This substantiates my claim that value and quality aren't the goals, only the perception of value and quality is sought by this organization. Chipotle offers the perfect alternative for individuals that don't want to eat poisonous food. It's not organic, however a salad bowl offers high fiber and high protein that has a lot of flavor and a great deal of options. Things I have to avoid in order to feel well include grains, processed oils, msg and hidden sugar content. There aren't many places that offer this particular combination of advantages without charging way too much. Until recently, as a single working male, I spent a small fortune at Chipotle, in particular, the Burlington WA and the Smokey Point location near my place of work. I don't have time to prepare meat and keep fresh salad on hand because it's just me. While, the prices are quite high for a dish that is by volume, mostly beans and rice, it was worth it for me simply because of the long hours I spend working. There has been some buzz recently about patrons recording video when they order at chipotle, simply because they wouldn't get a good portions unless they did. While this is something isn't really worth it for me to do, I have had to face the realization that profiteers like chipotle aren't interested in providing value, but they are heavily invested only in the perception of value. I find this notion to be a bit sickening and even after contacting customer service with my own experiences with receiving cold meat and recently, just a couple of tablespoons of meat, the incentive is clear. Chipotle wants the appearance of providing quality/value without the responsibility to actually produce it. The hubris is this. Your hungry, you go into a Chipotle that charges upwards of $15-20 for one meal if you want meat and guac. They pay their employees a meager and frankly stingy hourly rate. Yet the at the employees digression, they are allowed to serve you a portion of meat that can only be described as an "imperceptible serving". If you question it, it doesn't matter if the employee has worked at the location for 5 minutes or 5 years, the answer is always the same. "That is the correct portion of meat and you must pay extra for more.". They have some kind of "slight of perception" that they often do with serving sizes as well. I'm certain that they are trained to do this with the sauces. They load up a full ladle then proceed to pour just a small fraction of it onto your meal forcing you to ask for more. If they are so concerned that you may only want a teaspoon of sauce instead of a ladle full, why don't they simply grab a small amount upfront? I once received a portion of rice that was so small, it would be easiest measured by counting the grains of rice. When I visit chipotle right at opening time, I have to choose an alternative meat, the steak is literally and consistently as cold as it would be if they just went and retrieved it out of the fridge. I would argue that this huge health code violation. I can't speak for other locations, however as for the Burlington location and the Smokey point location I am no longer a patron. When I reported very small serving sizes on dozens of visits to the corporate customer service, they offered me a buy one get one free and proposed no corrective action. The employees are rude and unrelenting if you dare question the portion of meat that is offered. On one occasion I received a portion of shredded beef that was so miniscule, I was astonished that the employees didn't' correct it, it was without exaggeration two compacted level tablespoons worth. I walked out. Chipotle has shown that they don't care about customers, they care about profit. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE! this receipt is from myself and my 2 sons eating lunch. My sons are 10 and 12. I was completely ripped off after trying to order a cheese quesadilla for my 10 year old. I was charged 30+ dollars for a plain cheese and tortilla quesadilla. Huge communication issues with trying to order as well. The workers didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish. Our entire order was not right and was cold and gross to boot. So I was ripped off, served cold nasty food and when I let corporate know what was going on, they stopped responding to me. Corporate is allowing their employees to rip off their customers and serve port quality food and doesn't have a care in the world. They will not refund me and I am furious that this is being allowed. I will not ever step food inside another chipotle establishment ever again and neither will the rest of my family and friends. After corporate completely ignored me after our initial communication I decided to go into the location and talk to a manger. I was told "sorry, corporate said I can't do anything to fix it". Are you effing kidding me. So chipotle can steal your money for food you don't want or order and serve you cold food and take 75$ from a mom and her children and clearly they feel real good about doing so. F this place! What could improve you ask? How about dishing up the food that was ordered? Ordered steak and the guy in front of me got the last order. Had more on the grill (I know this because an employee walked over FROM THE GRILL and added to his order). But apparently the employee who was making up my order didn't want to wait for the steak for the two minutes it would have taken to refill the meat bucket and just went ahead and gave me carnitas. My husband ordered steak and got it on his order. I questioned the employee ringing up the order and she opened one of the bowls and said no they are totally the same. Only they were not. So disappointing. Have been wanting to try Chipotle for a while now. Commercials make the food look so good. We went last night and won't go back. The dining area was so dirty, you could see the kitchen area wasn't much better, waste bins overflowing. I had a salad dish and the food (lettuce, rice, steak, cheese sauce, sour cream), all of it was just dumped in the bowl...the sour cream covered Everything. I ate 1/4 of it and had to toss it. We also had to clean the table off ourselves if we wanted a clean place to sit. It appeared there was no oversight, just the young kids working the counter/kitchen. If there was a manager, he/she would be hard to spot since the staff all looked high school age. Do not recommend! read more

Nothing wrong with the food, just here to complain about one particular female employee. Now having worked in food service, I understand the frustration these workers have to deal with, which is why I always make sure to treat them with respect. But the way this one employee acted made me want to come here to leave a 2-star review. I forgot my wallet in the car, so I had to combine my order with a friend and I hear this loud sigh behind a mask from the female who took care of my order. She then proceeded to roll her eyes when she had to repeat (with a degrading tone) her question about us wanting one bag of chips or two separate bags of chips. I get that they have deal with stupidity on a regular basis, but treating us like we were stupid was not ok. Because of her rude behavior, we forgot to add drinks to our order and instead of going back to make an additional purchase we decided to drive away to avoid the attitude. On average this location is good for quality of food although quantity varies from person to person. Today I stopped by for a quick lunch and they completely missed the ball park. I usually don't write reviews. But I feel like the customer service at this location is terrible. I had an online order that was not there when arriving. I tried to get an employees attention after waiting for 15 minutes. Everyone ignored me. I had to go to the main line to ask about it and was told it got stolen or something. No apology, blank look. 30 minutes after it was supposed to be ready I got it. I left feeling sick to my stomach after being ignored for that long and then brushed off. My man and I almost skipped this location because of the not-so-great reviews, but we were very hungry after a day at Friday Harbor and decided to take a chance. We ordered online, picked up the food and were pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of our meals. A previous review mentioned 'half portions' but our burrito bowls were full to the brim- even the guac was spread over the whole top part of the bowls. The only thing we noticed was that none of the food was remotely warm but it didn't bother us. I always get chips with my bowl and these didn't disappoint. Not too salty, and with great lime flavor. Fair price to a great start for lunch with kids. But nothing spectacular. having hot sauces at the table is cool. American twist on Mexican food is nothing new. daughter was cravings chipotle so decided...why not. tried the one in vancouver bc many times but never the one in the good ole us of a. this branch was close to our hotel so ...lets do it!! ordered the beef burrito for myself...and the steak taco salad for the wife and daughter , and a taco kids meal for my son. taco salad had lots of steak and trimmings...my burrito was huge and packed with lots of beef , cilantro rice salsa, , chilis and lettuce.... kids meal had 2 tacos , chicken, cheese, lettuce, fruit and a drink. overall, we did enjoy the food. the portions were great as everyone felt full and satisfied. food was tasty and good. only negative for me was my burrito was a bit cold...and the staff seemed eager to get the line thru so they weren't that attentive to what you were saying....found out later when the line was gone, they wanted to sit and eat their staff meal. happy eating! i would still eat at chipotle for sure. 4 people only came out to $34 with 2 pops. good value! read more

I really dig this Chipotle location. It boasts a brand new upscale/modern interior. The seating is comfortable and everything is new and clean. There's TONS of seating, and 3 or 4 seating options - high tops, tables with chairs, low top with low stools, and maybe something else? Overall, good, new, clean feel to the space. The food is good! I like their chicken the best of the Chipotles where I've ordered chicken. No skimping on the ingredients of your order. The staff were quick and professional. The 3 or so times I've eaten at this location, it's never been crowded, though I feel like the business is really steady throughout the day. No issues finding seating. Consistently good experience with clean tables, comfortable seating, attentive staff, and good food. The one recommendation I'd make is to upgrade their soda fountain. read more

Terrible! Don't waste your time. My wife and visited this place and I ordered a burrito nothing special, long story short it was put together so poorly that I couldn't even eat it as a burrito I had to put it into a bowl. When I approved the staff about it they laughed and made a joke. There was never any attempt at remaking or even apologizing for the terrible service just nothing. Before I review a business I do quick research on their mission statement, most of the time it's online. Chipotle is Mexican Fast Food ... my visits are never longer then 15 minutes. .. that's when I eat in.. generally I'm in and out in 5 min . They are always busy so food stays fresh . This particular location hasn't been open very long soo I wanted to give them some time to get settled in. Let me just say the crew at this location is great.. they are kind and efficient. . Remember they are a fast food restaurant don't expect Maggianos type seating or attention... Every time I visit I feel at home ... This is the worst chipotle I have ever been to, and it sucks that this is only one within a 20 mile radius so we're stuck with this low level mediocrity. My orders are never right six straight times, food is always under cooked and they keep the same staff that does not care about any form of sanitary dignity there is trash everywhere on the inside and food everywhere on the floor. I will never eat here again but that's not going to change anything. Just hope that Mount Vernon gets one or Bellingham one day. I'd give this location and it's staff zero stars if the app would allow me to. And looking at past reviews it seems to be a problem that no one will deal with. read more

ZERO STAR if there was an option. My husband had already told me he didn't like it, but I still thought I should give it a try to see what the hype is about. HUGE mistake! It was busy last night, a Friday. There was a line but it was moving along. I wanted to try the carnitas. It's out. Ok. The girl at the counter asked a guy in the kitchen if there was any carnitas. He just said, 'no'. There's no suggestions on how long it should take, or 'how about trying ...' from either employee. There was just a blank stare. That is some customer service. When it came time to sit down, the tables are so close to each other, there's no privacy or personal space to speak of. You are elbow to elbow to the customer sitting at the table next to you. The bowl that I ordered was cold in general. When the rice, bean, and meat were supposed to be warm. They were lukewarm at best. Having the cold condiments on top didn't help at all. My husband didn't like his burrito either. It felt like a ton of bricks in my stomach for the rest of the night. Spent $14 on a bowl and they seemed to be rationing like the food was coming out of their pay check.
