Walking into this location felt like ordering a fully loaded sub and being handed plain bread with a smile. The experience looked promising at first, but it quickly became clear that the basics were missing. I waited 15 minutes just to be acknowledged, and when I finally ordered a Jersey Shore's Favorite, the process felt rushed and disorganized. The sandwich came out with the ham missing -- which is the whole point of ordering it. When I asked about it, the response was as dry as the bread itself: no apology, no effort to fix it, just indifference. Customer service here seems to run on the confidence of someone proudly serving an unfinished sandwich. Friendly interaction, attention to detail, and basic quality control, all the ingredients that make a place worth returning to, were nowhere to be found. My only gripe is that the menu doesn't really explain everything that's included in the sandwich. As for "Mike's Way", sorry, there's just way too much oil and vinegar. My daughter and I stopped into Jersey Mike's in Oak Harbor while on our way to the Port Townsend ferry. Our sandwiches were delicious but the price has gone up AGAIN and it's hard to justify how expensive they are now. The staff was friendly and outgoing but they were so disorganized and you could feel the frantic-ness from the other side of the shop. From what it looked like, they were trying to prepare online orders and in-store orders in the same spot and it looked and felt hectic. What use to be a $17.00 Giant sub is now $21.00 I am fine with the price increase, but now they slice their meat so thin you can literally see through it, and they use half the meat they use to use. If I am recalling correctly, this Jersey Mike's Subs in Oak Harbor is the first Jersey Mike's Subs I went to. I came with my grandma one day to get lunch. We packed some picnic supplies at the house then came here to get the sandwiches before heading out to Windjammer Park to eat. We arrived just at the right time, while in line and getting our sandwiches the line grew exponentially. Ordering was no hassle and the posted menu was easy to read and up-to-date with both offerings and prices. The sandwich-maker was cordial in conduct. I appreciated the quantity of meat they put on the sandwiches. Made for a hearty and filling lunch. The vegetables were crisp, meat not spoiled, and bread fluffy. Ordered the Smokey SW Cheesesteak, menu price is posted at $9.95. When I went to pay, it was $11.29. I asked why it was more than the menu board price (printed hanging menu, not a screen). The cashier looked at the menu, shrugged, and said I guess that's the wrong price, it's in the system at $11.29. I said I didn't want to pay more than the posted price, but didn't want to go full Karen about it. He called the other employee over and he adjusted it with 10% discount making it $10.16. Still not the posted price, but close enough I guess. If I had been ordering multiple items, or extras I probably wouldn't have even noticed. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! I used to come here maybe once a week. This worker Amanda always made me feel uncomfortable with her comments but I always shrugged it off. Last time I went, I brought my wife, and she pretty much sexually harassed her with her comments. I was so furious, how could they allow such a worker to be dealing with customers. I know I can't be the only one that's complained. I will not be going back to that location ever again. I was so mad that day that my wife had to talk me down from taking any legal action, she said it's not worth it. Yesterday my employer decided to treat the employees to lunch and chose to order 3 party platters from Jersey Mike's of Oak Harbor. There were many different types of subs (I didn't think to write them all down), I chose the Turkey and Provolone sub. OH BOY!! it was sooo tasty! I LOVED it! I didn't even add any mustard, mayo, or oil & vinegar (which, by the way, was all supplied by Jersey Mike's). The sub was very flavorful and the meat (Turkey in my case) was piled high! It also seemed to be freshly carved, not pressed slices like the "other place" uses. I so wanted to dig in and eat two or three more flavors of sandwiches, but I didn't so that my fellow employees could also experience the flavor sensation of Jersey Mike's. I LOVE IT HERE. I normally get Charley's subs but they don't have those in the PNW so i just customize it like a chicken California. I'd say it's even better than Charlie's. Sandwiches are Undeniably tasty, but the customer service is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! This was my second time ordering from this specific store and both times I (the customer) felt like I was just not a priority. The first time I visited the store it was pretty busy (like all new food places in any town are), but instead of assembling my sandwich the young employees behind the counter felt that chatting with their friends standing in the line was more important. After getting their attention I was then able to get the ingredients I wanted for my meal. The one plesent employee that was there, was a tall young blonde woman who took the time to apologize for the wait and wished that I would have a good day and return again. So I did. This time I took the suggestion from a coworker and I used the mobile app to order my food. After a long day my assumption was that I would be able to walk in, get my bag of two items, and leave. WRONG!! I show up, wait 10 minutes under the "online and phone order" sign, was given a sandwich not in a bag, and my order wasn't complete. The young lady behind the register was polite but was unsure about the rest of order. Once again, after waiting another 15 minutes the young blonde haired woman comes out from the back and saves the day. What I still don't understand though is why there were so many people in the back in the storage area, when the restaurant was filling up. Been gone for a year and Oak Harbor gets a Jersey Mike's. My dad has never been so we gave it a go. I've had a sub from them before and I wasn't that impressed. We walked in and we weren't greeted by anyone. There was some guy talking to customer in line, there were laptops on multiple tables, maybe business? I don't know. We stand in line looking at the menu, the guy behind the counter just stood there, didn't look too happy to be at work. We ordered a wrap and a sub, given a yellow paper and we walked to the register and gave the slip to the girl. I chose what I wanted on the sub, like subway, but with less options. My sub was done but my dads wrap was still in the making. Our name was called but it was wrong, "Matty". Nope. Just Matt. No "y". The food is nothing to rave about. I rather go to Subway, which is kind of sad. I mean, I can get a better tasting sandwich for cheaper... 2 stars for lack of customer service (you should always greet your customers), and subpar food. We usually love Jersey mikes. We have ordered from here twice. First time we ordered the staff were pretty rude but they were also slammed. So I guess that's some what understandable? We ordered our sandwiches. They got the sizes wrong and still charged us for the maximum size sandwiches. We implied to them many times over the phone no bell pepper as to someone at our house is extremely allergic. We get home. Guess who had to take an ER trip? We did! I figured it was just a mess up maybe because hey were busy. Tonight we ordered again. It was a phone order. I told them three times NO bell pepper. I asked how long it would be. They said twenty minutes. And the man on the phone told the person on the grill to add extra bell pepper. I said sir, please please make sure there is no bell pepper. He was very rude and stated there wasn't. We went to pick it up. Sizes were correct. After standing in like for awhile, I asked another employee to please make sure they don't put bell pepper on since and allergic reaction broke out pretty severe last time. She once again, ensured there were none. We get home. And everyone gets ready to eat. All three sandwiches are LOADED with bell pepper. So that was 40$ wasted on food. I felt like it wasn't asking a lot. But apparently it was. Teenagers working were very snobby. I do give a shout out to the one girl working. I didn't catch her name.
