We stopped in here for some coffee on a recent weekend in Oak Harbor, and it was quite delish! I've been to their Burlington location before, but never to the "mother ship" in OH. It's large and bright inside, while still feeling very cozy with a stone fireplace and comfy seating areas. They also had a very tempting menu of fall-themed coffee bevs - I got the maple latte with oat milk and it was soooo good. Service on a Sunday morning was pretty busy, so we had to wait awhile, but that's pretty much a PNW expectation. Oh, and they have cool swag too! read more

I love this place! At first when I learned they didn't have powder chai I was sad because I do not like Oregon chai. However, I decided to try other items and it made up for the loss. I really enjoy the quality coffee they have and the specialty drink menu they've created to help me broaden my choices. I think my favorite items though are by far the food because they are just so tasty and I love the baked goods area. The greca panini is my go to and has lots of flavor! Also the breakfast sandwiches are great and I enjoy the sausage and happy they have gluten free options. A few years ago, I did not have a great experience af Whidbey Coffee. I decided to return (since I was visiting the island) I decided I wanted a cup of coffee. We ended up dining in and having some breakfast items. The coffee is always good. Nice hot and great aroma. I ordered a Bagel and tasted a breakfast burritto. The Burrito was yummy and satisfying while the bagel was tender and soft on the inside and a nice chew on the outside. Service was good too. They offered a pup cup and we didn't even ask for one, we typically don't ask when coffee shops are busy. They have a pretty standard coffee menu with various milk alternatives and flavors, so you can tailor the drink to your liking. They also have seasonal flavors and the theme was Valentine's Day drinks, like raspberry, white chocolate, rose, etc. I got their honey and cardamom and it was delicious and sweet! I love coming here I always get stuff here but I feel like the staff are lazy and don't do their jobs because I order my sandwich with them and thru only put bacon on my bacon egg n cheese bagel or I order something extra to BE PUT ON IT. They literally have it to me on the side and the manager is the one who gave us the sandwiches and I told her she should tell people she's not gonna put the extra stuff on so we'll know not to order it and she completely ignores me. After I had told her that, all I got from her was attitude in return and to pull forward and someone would take us out our drinks. still nothing no apology for the wait because it had been a long wait and no apology for ignoring me either. I've been coming to this location for years and have only had problems off and on but today the barista was rude, neglectful, and clearly annoyed. Wow they are open on Christmas Day! We had to catch a morning ferry so this was one of the stops that was open on Christmas Day and was "family friendly" aka not a bikini barista drive thru. The service was great and the guy taking our order and helping us was friendly and efficient. You can get and eggnog latte either cut or uncut in all sizes. I wanted to try something different so I got a mistletoe lotus which was kiwi strawberry and from the menu board I thought it was a latte but I ended up with flavoring and sparkling water which was more of an Italian soda with out the half and half. We came for a quick coffee stop with a group of 3 and didn't have a great experience. Between the 3 of us, none of us really enjoyed our drinks. I had ordered a cortado and the woman taking the orders didn't know what it was, so I said a macchiato would be fine. They ended up making me a Starbucks style caramel macchiato that was way too sweet. They did remake it for me which was very nice, but even then the espresso wasn't the greatest. One friend got an iced breve, which tasted like straight half and half with a dash of drip coffee (not so good). The final drink we had was an Americano, which was at least prepared correctly but still not great. I wouldn't recommend for someone wanting a nice cup of coffee. It seems they struggled a little with execution on their espresso drinks - but maybe it was just an off day. read more

My partner ordered a Capp. How the hell did you screw up a Capp?! Let me tell you...you start with weak ass shots of mediocre beans and you serve it up lukewarm. Tasted like milk with a pinch of dirt. Avoid at all costs. I suggest 7-11 coffee if you really need one. Your wallet and taste buds will thank you. read more

Ordered two breakfast burritos and a coffee got the coffee was told to pull forward for the burritos. Waited for about 5 minutes they brought out the burritos I drove away got to my grandkids School gave them the burritos and they were ice cold. We stopped by on our way to Deception Pass after enjoying Edbey's Landing. We were starving but didn't want to eat a full meal either. So we stopped so we could try Island local coffee shop delights. We ordered a midnight pumpkin latte and my husband ordered some other concoction I don't remember the name of. It was also a specialty! To top off our coffees we ordered a White chocolate raspberry scone. I will just share that it was uh-mazing! Best scone ever! It even had marshmallow. Yes, marshmallows. The espresso was smooth and I order half pumps of everything since I don't really like lattes with syrup. The place was cozy, clean, and customer service oriented. I'm never one to talk poorly about a job I've had but, after hearing some of the horrid stories of what is still happening at Whidbey Coffee since being let go of I felt the need to share my experience. Not everyone's experience is the same, but here's mine. I quickly learned 6 months into the job that if you were not deemed a "favorite" you weren't going to have the best experience there. From being bullied and having rumors spread about me my first month there to being let go of publicly in front of the business with no reason as to why. The environment their employees work in is nothing less than toxic. You could be ignored from management your whole shift if you had done something to make them upset. There were no breaks, and if you did ask for one, "it's not an appropriate time" would be the most common response. Management was not quick to handle the incident with me being bullied as it took nearly 2.5 months to get a meeting with them , multiple complaints about how it was making me feel in the workplace, and 3 times asking for the meeting. Rather than taking action they would try to sweep any problem under the rug and hope it would go away. I'll end it with my last day at Whidbey Coffee. I was met at the front doors by my assistant manager and head of HR, i was walked around the corner in front of the windows where the whole cafe could see me. I was demanded to hand over my key, and that I "no longer worked here". I was completely shocked. Just two weeks prior they were telling me how well I was doing and how I'd be a good fit for a lead barista position, and now I was being fired in front of the business. I asked why I was being let go of, and I was completely ignored. As I fumbled to get my key off my land yard and hand it over, they turned and left me outside crying. I gathered myself up and left. Even though I found out that HR had a plan of how to handle it, the fact of the matter is not even HR stepped up to fulfill their duty of protecting their employees, but instead aided in it. I was given a small text in response as to why I was let go, and a very vague reason at that. I have never received an apology from management for the public humiliation I had to endure. First timer here and all I can day is what the f*~k is going on? We got into the drive through with 5 cars in it and it took 30 minutes to get to the window. We were reading a lot of the reviews and everyone was commenting that they were cheaper than Starbucks, but I would rather pay for the efficiency over this. The menu is AT THE WINDOW which is clearly what causes the line. Drive throughs usually have a menu at the end so you know what to order, or order ahead of time. We drove out of our way to come here, but definitely do not plan on doing that again. I like this place. It's much more welcoming than the "other" place and I prefer not to give my money to them anyway. This place has friendly employees and their frozen mocha is bomb. I'm not a coffee drinker per se but this frozen mocha I'm enjoying is fantastic. The customer area is comfortable with plenty of seating. Their outdoor seating is a little lackluster but that's no big deal. I will definitely stop in here again for a relaxing sit and this bomb frozen treat. Good job Whidbey Coffee. This seems like a great place - especially if you're a dog owner. If the employees come to your car, they might pet your dog. And your canine companion will most likely be rewarded with a tasty treat at the drive thru window. But if you're not a dog person (yes we do exist) and are watching those employees handle a large drooling dog before they handle your drink, your long awaited coffee experience kind of loses it appeal. Yes those doggies deserve treats. And dog saliva is just dog saliva. But I'd prefer not to have some served with my coffee. Or at least wash your hands people. read more

We are so lucky here, the selection of wonderful coffee shops is abundant. Whidbey Coffee is one of my favorites both for the food and drinks, as well as the people! I just stopped in the drive thru for a frozen mocha (which is this yummy icy creamy concoction), only to find out their machine was down. Instead of letting me be disappointed, they offered to make me one from scratch with the blender for the same price. Not a good place for espresso. I ordered a 8oz latte and got a 12oz lukewarm milk drink. My brother ordered a Cappuccino and got an ok Latte. The barista was clearly not paying attention when she was pulling the shots as the one was held for about 23 seconds and the other about 10. Just not a good place at all from what I saw I will look elsewhere. read more
