Finally had an opportunity to try local Whidbey coffee , LITERALLY , lol and opted for an Americano to keep it simple and YUM! It was so fresh , not bitter , and just overall delicious . Barista filled my americano to the brim so I had to take a sip to stir in sugar and scalded my mouth. Bad enough that it took 10 minutes to make a simple drink when there were 4 staff behind the counter. Definitely not going back. read more

To be honest I have a hard time with local coffee shops. Coffee is either bland or just off. Decided to give Whidbey Coffee a chance and they didn't disappoint. Coffee (Americano) smooth, no bitter after taste and served hot, I detest pee warm coffee. Staff (been there twice now) has been consistent with their friendly customer service and very patient with the tourists (observed). Super cute shop, with amble seating and clean restrooms. If I could rate 100 stars, I would!! Me and my boyfriend were in the cafe this morning, and as we both ordered, the ladies at the counter were soo sweet! I even had to ask an embarrassing request (I unfortunately started lady month without proper products), and one lady was amazing enough to get me something! Also, the decorations were so pretty! I was kinda jealous of it! Exceptional customer service, 100/10!! Would recommend this place for any tourists or just in general! read more

Prices!!!! Why is there no menu to choose items from? "It is the owners decision". Ok, I'm glad the owner chose to not put prices up for customers. Won't be visiting this store again. If you can't have prices available to look at.....when I'm paying for items.... Really? Thanks for the comment, it wasn't because the prices were out of line, it was because they were nowhere visible and I shouldn't have to ask. There was a menu, with no pricing. Makes a customer (at least speaking for myself) believe that you are ashamed to post them. On another note, the cinnamon roll was pretty tasty. Been here a couple of times while on vacation. A nice coffee spot! The lattes are delicious and we also enjoyed the Breve. No complaints about the staff--they've always been perfectly nice and quick. With COVID, they have both indoor and outdoor seating available but socially distanced. read more

We loved this place! First of all, the small coffee house is all windows with a beautiful view of the water. You have the option to sit indoors or outdoors. Second, the baristas were so friendly and patient. We weren't familiar with the area, so they gave us the scoop on what to do and where to shop. Last of all the coffee was delicious and aromatic, but not bitter. You must have it with a tasty bagel from a local bakery who delivers it to shop. We had the garlic Parmesan bagel and they had the best texture of any bagel I've ever had. read more

The coffee here is okay. I ordered an extra shot in my americano and it was still pretty watery. None of the syrups are local, and overall prices were a bit high. I noticed this is a WA chain, which usually leaves a foodie feeling meh. My husband, myself, & my 7yr old dog went the 980 SE Pioneer location on Wednesday, July 20th. In the past, we often gone there with our dog. Your staff does welcome dogs even if they are not Service Dogs. On this occasion, we were sitting inside as we have done on many occassions. My 7 yr dog yelped when he moved wrong as older dogs sometimes do. Also, my shoe squeaked on the floor. After this happened, your loud-mouthed staff member came into the middle of your lobby & told us very rudely to LEAVE NOW. She could have come up and asked nicely but no, she had to make sure everyone heard her. Interesting, that at the same time, a woman had just come into the store with a small dog on the retractable leash - obviously NOT a SERVICE DOG! Your waitperson's unprofessional actions will keep me from ever returning to your store. One star review is too much for this incident! read more

I love their espresso milkshakes! They have a variety of syrups to flavor them if you don't want plain espresso. My favorite is White Chocolate/White Mocha. They messed up our order once and gave us a card for a free drink for next time. The staff is always friendly and cheerful no matter what time of day we go. I've been going to both oak harbor locations for a long time and the baristas are amazing. So sweet, and make such a great latte.

First off I come to visit family here from Seattle - which only means I can be a coffee snob ... The coffee is bomb! I drink quad white mochas and they didn't disappoint! Perfect bond of coffee to mocha sauce! Another good indicator for me was that they use Monin!!! HOLLAAAAA!!! I also got a pacific pesto panini sandwich! Super tasty! Took a bit of time to get to me but I was holding my niece and one of the chicas brought it over! Worth he wait! Tasted super fresh!! If you have the chance check these guys out! Whidbey Coffee is always efficient even when it's the busy hour, they always prioritize getting drinks out quickly and they always have a good attitude towards customers, even when customers may not have a good attitude back to them. The workers have to deal with nonsense sometimes since they've re opened their cafe to the public, however, they are always calm, cool, and collected, when dealing with customers. read more

Not impressed. I tried them twice to see if the first time was a fluke. Staff was cold, I had to ask someone to take my order both times (different people). There was no sign with offered products or prices. I asked as to why and was told that it was due to price changes. No offer for a temp list or anything. I had to shoot from the hip as to what I wanted. They seemed like I was inconveniencing them by ordering. The drinks tasted as though the espresso was over-pulled, that or wasn't hot enough. Not too happy. Came here the other day and had 3 punch cards, enough for a free coffee, and I wanted the other two combined to one. (I recently switched my purse and found some loose cards) I ordered my coffee, explained the deal with the cards and the barista handed me the card back and then my coffee. I was in a hurry to get my kids to the dentist so I didn't think to check the card to make sure it was correct, I trusted she knew what to do. After the dentist appt I was thinking about the coffee and punch card and checked it and realized that I was indeed given the wrong card, it was missing 3 punches. I called the coffee shop, explained the situation and the lady said I could come back and they'd honor the punches and she wrote a note with my name on it. So, today (2 days later) I showed up to get my punches and wouldn't you know it the barista says that she had talked to the manager about it and they changed their mind and would no longer honor the punches. This to me is terrible customer service. Clearly I am a frequent customer, I try very hard to support local businesses and choose Whidbey Coffee over Starbucks any day because it's a small local business and I want to see them succeed. This situation left a poor taste in my mouth. I work for a retailer and customer service is a driving force behind sales and loyal customers. I would think in todays economy especially businesses would understand how important customer service is and wouldn't turn frequent customers away over something as small as 3 punches (equates to about $1.75 if I were to redeem for a free $7 coffee) but apparently I'm mistaken. read more

Great location, great views but the worst customer service! I often go to get some coffee at Whidbey Coffee from time to time but every time, i go to either this location or the one on Highway 20, they have the worst customer service! I don't care if you're coffee is good. If you don't treat your customers right, you won't have them back (at least, I won't be coming back). For years, the employees always come off rude, not even a welcome or a hi (no acknowledgement) and didn't even make my drink by the time I order mines at the counter. I literally have to come off from my seat to check if my drink is up but they obviously miss it for some odd reason and made me wait even longer to get my drink. Worst thing I ever encounter at this coffee shop. If you're a fan of their coffee, be my guest but I rather go to a coffee shop with great customer service and a friendly environment. read more

This whidbey coffee location has a great view and neat, industrial style furniture but the layout is not as comfortable as the other whidbey coffee in oak harbor. Also, it has a smaller food selection and the baristas are not nearly as friendly. read more

Needless to say this is causing me to spend a whole lot more here, but I like the friendly faces before I go off to school each morning (that I have a test - that's my excuse to buy a cuppa). I haven't met anyone at this location who wasn't awesome. The other ones on the other had... Anyway, I hear they are remodeling. I hope this means that are going to start carrying salads and sandwiches like some of the other locations. read more

Was visiting from out of town and gave this place a couple times because it's a super cute place with a nice fireplace to sit at. Unfortunately it's the customer service that will keep me from coming back next time I'm in town. Whoever the lady is that works the register in the mornings has zero personality and seems to give you the impression that you're bothering her.
