I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Chris' Bakery. I purchased a pastry expecting fresh bakery food, but when I opened it, the inside was completely frozen solid and impossible to eat. Unfortunately, I had already driven out of town when I discovered the problem, so I couldn't bring the food back. I contacted the bakery to explain what happened, but instead of offering a refund for the defective food, they offered me half off a different sandwich. Why would I want to spend more money at a place that just sold me food I couldn't even eat? Mistakes happen, but good customer service means making things right when the customer receives a bad product. I'm very disappointed with how this was handled and will think twice before spending my money here again. read more

I love this place so much and I am not even a huge donut person but the selection they have is incredible!!! I love the savory and the sweet and everything tastes fresh there compared to a store bought donut. My top favorites are the salted caramel croissant, Nutella topped Bavarian cream, or the cinnamon twist. Also the jalapeño cheese bread is incredible. Service always seems great and I enjoy taking to the ladies working there. Ambiance is chill and the bakery always smells lovely! Cute, local, family owned business. The decor, vibe, and workers were very friendly, quick to take your order, and patient. I ordered 2 dozen mixed donuts, 6 chocolate chip cookies, and a lotus drink - my total was $70+ (before the military discount). I will honestly say I was taken aback by that price however, this is probably the best bakery in town. My family loves their pastries so I we'll be back for those but we'll probably think twice before purchasing so many donuts lol read more

Got two boxes of baked goods: pies, donuts, cinnamon roll type donut, muffins, and the photo is only of one of the boxes. Also got cookies and ordered a couple breakfast sandwiches and pizza rolls. The line was long in the AM, basically out the door, but it moved fairly quickly. There is only one line, but on the right side of the counter (when facing) are the breakfast sandwiches and pizza type items (do not miss out on these). The shop is small and cute, there's a drive through as well, if you'd rather not go inside. We loved the donuts and breakfast sandwiches so much that we went back again a couple days later, no lie. Our favorite was the sausage breakfast sandwich, glazed donuts, and maple donuts. Oh, and they heat up the sandwiches/savory goods for you. Honestly though, do yourself a favor and try it all. Visiting from out of town and stopped the first time later in the day and they were pretty much out of what we wanted. Stopped early the next day and there were no cinnamon buns or sticky buns, so we got some donuts and other pastries. I asked about the buns and evidently they only make them on certain days, or by special order in the case of sticky buns. Oh well! Very odd for a bakery to not have their cinnamon buns front and center every day. What we did buy was very good and all the items on their shelves and in their cases looked yummy. The didn't have serving items and candle selection was quite low and there were no matches for lighting the small assortment of candles, but the cake was good and served its purpose quite nicely. Oh my gosh. The best bakery in Oak Harbor! This little gem has pies, cookies, and everything you want to eat! I literally had so many options that I couldn't choose. The lady behind the counter was so incredibly helpful and friendly! I got a bear claw danish and my boyfriend got a chocolate cream horn. My friend got a Napoleon. We devoured it in seconds. It was heavenly! They also have drink options, a nice cup of tea with your pastries! This is a great place for breakfast, and if you're craving something sweet. A tidy, clean hole-in-the-wall which also sports a drive-through, this place was recommended by so many people I had to go check it out. I went in around 3:30pm, so near to closing time. They still had some very good looking French-style pastries, but I went with the almond cinammon croissant. Absolutely delicious the following morning, the dough more like a cinammon roll but with the added marzipan-like almond. I will return to try out more of their offerings, for sure.
