There were some tables and booths. We ordered their house made chili to start and it was delicious and filling. My hubby ordered the Billy's platter. I ordered the chicken chimichanga. The food was delicious and generously sized. I really liked the fresh salsa, guacamole and tortilla chips with the chimi. The staff were all friendly and attentive. It's always nice when they keep your water filled. We took most of our main courses to-go.

Regulars clearly know each other and the staff, which you don't really see much anymore. Refreshing. Service matched that energy -- warm and good throughout. I went with my go-to order, the chicken fried steak. It's not the best I've had -- the steak itself had more of a ground meat texture than a proper cut, which was a little different. But it was enormous and absolutely hit the spot. The biscuit on the side was solid too. My husband got the ham and said it was juicy and well done. Not a destination spot necessarily, but a great find if you're in the area and want a hearty, unpretentious brunch.

The food is consistently excellent. I like to share fiery spinach dip or the epic pretzel! I crave the zesty asian shrimp, caesar salad, smash burger and street style carnitas tacos! The fries are now cooked in tallow and the tartar sauce is a perfect accompaniment! I go at least weekly. The bartenders make amazing craft cocktails. They have happy hour all day on Mondays and 1 to 6 the other weekdays. And where can you get a Coors Light for $3!

Our waitress was timely and very friendly. Very informative on any menu questions we had. Our food was very good! I had the carnivore plate, and my girlfriend had the bruschetta. Both were very good! This is the second place I've been to recently that has had carnivore options on their menu. Their drink menu is very extensive, they have a great tap list, and a great mocktail list. The only reason they are getting a 4 instead of a 5 is that they were out of several of the ingredients to make their mocktails they had listed on their menu and we went their specifically for the mocktail menu because my girlfriend can not have alcohol at this time. Great place, great food, and great service though.

I really wanted to like this place :(…read more We waited 30 minutes for our table (which is totally fine) but once seated, waited for our drinks, had to flag down a server to receive our order, and then waited another 30 to get the food. Sadly, the food was mediocre, at best. I imagine, as a business, they're also wasting so much money on portion sizes. Huge meals do not equate to quality. I really wanted to love it because it's a family restaurant but there was a lot left to be desired. Cons: - The majority of our experience was spent waiting - The staff seemed confused and very overwhelmed - The food was boring and didn't look good on the plate (I got the biscuits and gravy, my friend got chicken fried steak) Pros: - The staff was very friendly - Bathroom was clean - The freshly squeezed orange juice was incredible - Everyone seemed to be trying their best, I think the system just needs a lot of work

Once at the table we got our coffee & placed our order then waited, and waited and waited some more. It's a small kitchen & in addition to dine in service they were pumping out a lot of to go orders. Hopefully the wait for food at the table isn't as long normally because if it is that's ridiculous. 2 coffees & a switch to water later our food finally arrived. Generous portion of potatoes, the corn beef was delicious and of course the biscuits was massive!

Calico Cupboard is one of those places that you NEED to go to when you're in town…read more When you get there, you just sign in yourself at the stand which is a good system so no one has to check you in when they're already pretty busy. While you're waiting you can go to the shop down the stairs or go to the dessert area right next to the waiting area to get some great desserts. Last time i was there I saw frosted cream cheese sugar cookies, and pies, and more. When you get seated there are so many great food options, lots of options, same with drinks. They are only open until 3:30 pm so be sure to manage time well. And don't expect an empty place, it's usually populated. Tight space, so scoot in those chairs as far as you can. Staff were laid back, and nice. When they're busy make sure to be patient with the staff, they're dealing with tons of other orders as well.

We had breakfast there last Wednesday morning, and from the moment we arrived, it felt special. The outside is adorable, but somehow the inside is even more charming. There's such a warm, welcoming energy the second you walk in. Off to the side is their incredible shop, "Re-Feather Your Nest," filled with thousands of unique and beautiful items--it honestly feels like a destination all on its own. To the left when you enter, you're greeted by their bakery cases, and wow--there are more options than most bakeries I've ever seen. Everything looked amazing, and we were lucky enough to be seated right away (always a win!). The restaurant itself is two stories, and our table overlooked the store below, which made the whole experience even more fun. We started with their famous cinnamon roll, fresh coffee (with the cutest little design on top!), and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice--which was incredibly refreshing. For breakfast, I ordered the Calico Benedict on a homemade English muffin with corned beef--so good! And the country-style potatoes? Easily some of the best I've ever had. I couldn't even finish them and happily took the rest home...they were just as delicious the next day. My husband ordered the Breakfast Sampler with sausage and loved every bite as well. What really stood out, beyond the food, was how clean everything was and how genuinely happy the staff seemed. You can tell they enjoy working there, and that makes such a difference. After breakfast, we wandered through the gift shop and found so many unique treasures--big and small. I actually visited Magnolia in Waco, Texas a couple of months ago, and honestly, this is the kind of charming, personality-filled place that would fit right in there (and maybe even outshine it!). If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by--even if it's just to browse the shop. It's one of those rare places that truly has it all. A must-visit!
