Ordering at the counter was easy, and we chose a seat outside on the deck. I think they were a little short staffed, so I'm not sure if that is a normal wait time. But, 100% worth it! The food and atmosphere here is great. You can tell they use great quality ingredients. The food we had was delicious and don't skip out on their baked goods. There is a lot of outdoor seating in a yard/garden which is perfect for families and pets in the summer. They bring out your entrees, but everything else is self bussed. You prepay for everything including tip when you order. They only accept cash, check, or Venmo. I came here with a group of 4 and ordered 4 entrees along with some baked foods and coffee. THE WAIT..... It took over 1 hour for us to get our food. I would take off at least part of a point for that. I'm not sure if we were forgotten but didn't hear from the kitchen at all during this time (or after) and I had to ask about our order myself. People behind me in line had gotten their food long before. Thankfully we weren't in a hurry that day but that is a pretty long wait in my opinion for brunch. This is what all restaurants should be. You can truly taste the quality of ingredients. The coffee was perfect, the baked goods delicious (highly recommend the biscotti) We got to sit outside and watch hummingbirds while we ate breakfast, and even though you will wait in line for a bit, there is a lot of outdoor seating. Totally worth the line btw, we actually had fun chatting with the other people there. Our server was amazing and when one of the dishes didn't make it to the table, they fixed it asap and gave us extra baked goods for the trouble. Kicking myself for not taking pictures but we will be going back this fall just to hang out in this ADORABLE town and get another breakfast here. read more

After spending the morning at the tulip fields, we headed to Bow/Edison area for a late lunch. I have been to this part of town before and remembered how cute it was, and wanted to bring my friends who had never been before. Parking: the area was busy, but I found street parking pretty easily! Pay: I think it was cash, venmo, or check only here! Def no credit card. I ordered: - meatball sandwich with a side of potato salad - double chocolate cookie - rice crispy treat with chocolate My food came out pretty fast. The taco place next door had a wait for food. I wasn't the biggest fan of the cookie because I thought it wasn't chewy enough, but I really enjoyed the rice crispy treat, and I loved how they had it thinly sliced so it was easy to share and eat. Wow! What a gem of a cafe! Cute, quirky ambiance with amazing , homey food perfect for a cold PNW day. My wife got the corn chowder and said it was the best corn chowder she's ever had. The pomegranates in the chowder had texture and sweetness to perfectly complement the earthly poblano peppers and the bitterness of the dandelion greens. I got the chicken pot pie and it was loaded with chicken, carrots, green beans, and peas. The team was so nice and friendly and came over to say hi to our 4 month old. The food is always tasty at Tweets! We ordered a salmon salad, quiche, and croissant sandwich this time. All were wonderful. I know it's redundant to write that it's definitely overpriced since it's mentioned so often. But it's true! We would eat here regularly if it wasn't so expensive. As it is, we only go when we have visitors. It was much less busy during this last visit than I have ever seen it. So the indoor area was not crowded at all and we got seats immediately. There were also plenty of seats outside. Because we were sitting next to the opening to the kitchen, we could hear the woman working there making fun of a couple customers who asked about the peanut content in the dishes. It says on the menu that they do not do ANY substitutions and they are adament, making no exceptions. So, if you ask, know that you will be mocked either to your face or behind your back. I would recommend trying this place at least once for the incredible food. After that, try the Mexican food place next door that is owned by the same person/people and then move on to other wonderful offerings in the area. read more

Five of us went here on a recommendation yesterday. I really wanted to like this place. I ordered fried chicken with potato salad and my wife ordered the quiche. When I got my fried chicken, it was two dark meat legs that were overcooked and not very much meat on them. The crust on the meat was cooked so much. It fell off. I don't prefer dark meat but it's OK. My wife had the quiche that was 60% bread with no substance. I guess you have to go by first impressions which was not good. If you're going to serve chicken For $21, maybe put a breast or thigh on the plate. My wife did not eat all of her quiche because it was like eating bread. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the quality of food. The ambience was nice as we sat outside and the service was good as well. Those did not make up for the lack of quality in the food. Sorry to say. We probably won't be back. read more

I now unfortunately have a love/hate relationship with Tweets. I still love the food but since my latest visit I kinda hate the service, but not because of the issue where it took almost an hour before my shrimp and grits and meatball sandwich were done. It was the fact that they took no accountability and made excuses such as "we have 20 orders come in at one time and it sometimes takes longer for things to be cooked". This after I personally watched 2 other people get their shrimp and grits before me who were literally in the ordering line ahead of me. They got their food and were finished with their shrimp and grits before mine ever made it to my table. We had two friends with us and they got their food before us and when it was taking so long for our food they got some forks for us share their food and one of the cooks even came back to our table with her and asked for the name on the order which I told him. He went back and looked for the ticket and I could tell that they completely forgot about our order. Both a curse and benefit of having an open kitchen where customers can see what's going on in the kitchen. This would have been fine if the mgr and/or hostess/ order taker would have apologized and said that they screwed up and forgot about our order but instead gave excuses like the one above, "what can you do" with a shrug and "if we knew you were with the others at your table we would have served you all the food at the same time". Accountability, empathy and good customer service was all it really took, but they failed miserably. It really is unfortunate that this last visit will be our final visit at Tweets. Such great food and fun atmosphere. I understand that the ownership really doesn't care since they know people will come anyways but I hope someone at Tweets sees this and makes changes so no one else has to go through this. We have been here for brunch now a half dozen times and couldn't rate the food higher. It's always delicious and fresh. Yes, the owner/manager can be a little brusque. Yes, there is often a short wait (even for the restroom). Yes, the seating options are limited. Yes, it's only cash or Venmo with frequently weak wi-fi (bring cash). Deal with it, people. Now let's talk about the food. Locally sourced ingredients, revolving seasonal (and weekly) menus, carefully thought out flavors, generous portions, and visually breathtaking plate presentations (see food photos) which give you the WOW factor. It's nothing short of miraculous, too, that it's made in the smallest kitchen space you've ever seen!! These folks care about food. Think of them as artisans crafting small, unpretentious gastronomic works of art. It takes time and they're busy!! Seriously. Give them a little grace, slow down your roll, and leave your baggage at the door to experience a truly unique dining experience made with love and lots of hard work. I also love that they hand write their menu, display fresh flowers, and often have a DJ during the summer in the outdoor space. This is one of my favorite foodie spots in the entire PNW. This place was a recommendation from one of my colleagues, so we decided to stop by for brunch. Tweets is a cute, artsy local cafe in a small town of Edison. It probably seats around 25-30 people indoor, they also hhave aa couple of tables outside (I'm sure a great spot in spring/summer when the weather is nice). You order at the register and then find a table. They will get your order. Tweets probably sources from local farms, and has plenTy of options for meat lovers. For vegetarians like me, we managed to find a couple of savory options. Of course there are plenty of sweet baked goodies.. During our visit, we got artichoke frittata, vanilla latte as well as brioche. Frittata was definitely my favorite! The potatoes tasted so good. It does come with a side of salad, which was fresh and tasty. They serve blueberry brioche with housemade whipping cream (which we opted out). The brioche itself was so tasty. It's pretty heavy. Vanilla latte was decent. Overall, the cafe had a nice vibe, great food, nice ambience, friendly service.. and did I mention delicious food? Note, they only accept cash/check. There's an ATM across from them, so you can always go there like we did. If you are in town, give it a try! We surely will be back next time :) read more

Went here for lunch a few weeks ago with a group and forgot to leave a review. It was Saturday and super busy- we got lucky and got a table (outside). I didn't k ow this was a cash only establishment so that was something I wasn't prepared for however.....the choice of food was amazing and the servings huge! This place was recommended to me by my boss's wife, so I had to go check it out. Tweets is located in the heart of Edison, right before Cain Ct. turns West. Street parking is easy to find around the restaurant. Two things that are different about this place from the typical restaurant are 1) they only accept cash or venmo and 2) customers wait in line to order. The second aspect would not have been a big issue if it were not for the fact that the wait is outside in the heat for about 20 minutes, which can be very unpleasant during lunch time, when the sun is beating down on you. After ordering, the wait for the food is another 40 minutes. Seating is very limited and one must play musical chairs with other customers in order to secure a spot to sit. Finally, the food I ordered was Kimchee and pork belly sandwich. The only thing going for the food is that it is fresh, but everything else is 2 stars or less. The flavor is awful as the sandwich taste like it is soaked in lemon and vinegar. It is way too sour. Also, the bread is soggy and gross. I do not recommend this place for anyone. read more

Relentlessly Amazing!! I just finished another Beet Salad with Radicchio. This is the 10th time I have had this selection in a row. I know I should try something else... but I just can't. Great food, great setting, great service! Tweets has a nice sunny deck to eat at. I had the Reuben sandwich today and it did not disappoint. There was just the right amount of pastrami (I prefer not too much) with a salty, soft mouth feel. Instead of sauerkraut, they used a fresh cabbage slaw which was brilliant! It had a lighter texture to contrast the pastrami. The bread was a hearty item from a business a few doors down (Breadfarm). The accompanying potato salad was brightened by a vinegary dressing that elevated it. A few sweet pickles were added and I was a happy man. read more

Five of us rode down from Vancouver BC on our motorcycles and while riding through the quaint little town of Edison cane across this sweet cafe. We stopped and sure glad we did! Here for a bite to eat. The food here looks amazing! The place is rather small, but it is packed and there's live music. This artisan cafe has a wonderful eclectic gathering of decor. Nothing fancy; just homey and fun. I had a wedge of The Rustica. Priced at $17 and accompanied with a tasty yet light side leaf salad, it was full of flavor. When you live in Bellingham, and are exposed to all of the amazing foodie deliciousness that our little city has come to offer, it's not always easy to pull yourself away for a breakfast road trip. But on a recent lazy Saturday morning this is just what the hubby and I did as we sauntered down to Edison for some destination dining at Tweets. I'd heard about this place, and salivated over the pics, for years, and was excited to check them out! The space is small with very kitschy decor. I loved it. You order at the counter from a limited (and kinda pricey) breakfast menu and your meal is prepared in their tiny open kitchen by a staff who is very friendly (especially with the locals, who are greeted with hugs as they come in the door). Seating is at a premium - best to get there early or go on a warm day when their outside patio is open. But then again, you don't go on a breakfast road trip if you're in a hurry to eat! Our corned beef hash with collard greens was excellent, and the farm-fresh sunny-side-up egg on top was pure heaven. I thought the price ($16) was a little steep, but I get they are using premium locally-sourced ingredients so I can't complain too loudly. I look forward to returning again and giving their Eggs Benny a go. read more

A low-key farm to table feel to Tweets keeps us loving this place. If you haven't been to Edison (or Bow) Washington, move this to the top of your quaint, out of the way, adorable, one-horse towns in WA list. You can daytrip to Edison easily from Seattle on the weekend. Locals know that Edison and Bow are towns where artists have dug deep and created some interesting (and in Tweet's case delicious) establishments. Tweets is in line with the other unique and original businesses in tiny, quaint Edison. Its in a barn, has incredibly freshly made items, bright colors, artful presentation, and some tasty food. Its mainly got homebaked goods, quiche, sandwiches, expresso, entrees, homemade hibiscus coolers, etc. It reminds me of a perfect wine-country stop over, minus wine country. Its delightful to find a spot like this in such an out of the ordinary location. (Only open on weekends and only takes cash, so plan accordingly.) What's remarkable about this spot to me is its quirky and intriguing feel, its arty charm, and its food, seemingly fresh from the patch around the corner. You can thank me later. read more
