    Turkish coffee
    Babette C.

Visited with my SIL who is from Azerbaijan, so she knows her tea and baklava. I was excited to try the turkish coffee because I'd never had it before. I was hoping it was going yto be made the traditional way with the pot being swirled in the hot sand, but they use a nespresso type machine. I didn't mind though because the owner was nice and I tried the coffee and discovered that it's an acquired taste and it isn't for me, but it was such a nice presentation. I tried the sausage breakfast toast, made with texas toast and sucuk beef sausage and cheese. I liked it. Although I didn't try the baklava and the turkish delight, they were beautiful to look at. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What a nice way to start the morning![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I'm not sure if I should write a review for corner Café or Zaza? Since the top of the building says corner Café here we are. What a delightful surprise a Turkish Café with Turkish delights from baklava to coffee to teas and gifts. We were pleasantly surprised by our Turkish coffee, which had a strong, sweet delightful taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My photos reflect the adorable ambience of the cafe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner was very friendly and talkative. He helped us understand what we were ordering offered to change it if we didn't like it tell us a little bit about the readings of the coffee grounds. I ordered the vegan dessert and we also had the baklava. Both of us were very happy with our desserts and coffee. We eventually bought some tease to go if you have a chance and are in the mood for some coffee I would highly recommend Zaza!

Tasty Cardamom Turkish latte just to give you the jolt of energy for the rest of your day. Even though it's attached to the grocery store, they have a variety of drinks and treats for anyone to enjoy. Great service as you can tell they care about the drinks they're making for their clientele.

    Turkish black tea

The tea is delicious (tried both a pot ofthe Turkish black and then an oatmilk chai). The owner is really sweet and understood I just needed an hour or so of WiFi and tea to meet a deadline. I sampled the lentil soup and it's great. I didn't try any pastries due to nut allergy but they looked amazing.

I dare you to resist a Turkish treat

Delicious baked treats direct from Turkey, friendly and caring owner providing the service and super easy access. Perfect pre- or post-ferry stop or whenever you want some authentic Turkish/Mediterranean food and excellent coffee. Support local instead of chains and try something different from everyone else.

Very good and unique coffee experience. If you have never tried Turkish Coffee, made by a passionate Turkish man, you need to go here. You can tell the owner loves what he does. Is very kind and the coffee taste so smooth. Also, the baklava and other delicacies were

A lovely cardamom Turkish latte and the remnants of the best walnut baklava I've ever had!

We actually made it on our way back and so glad we did. They have a lot of unique flavors. We just got a couple double scoops so we could try more flavors! Once Baked Cookie Dough (5): My wife loves the traditional cookie dough so this piqued our interest. If you've ever had a pizookie, its sort of like that. Sort of underbaked and soft. It was delicious! Coffee Toffee Crunch (5): Can't go wrong with a coffee/toffee combo. Their slow churned process makes this really creamy and delicious! Wild Blackberry (4): Curiosity got to us on this one since wild blackberries seem to be everywhere up here. I've had some really good ones and some really questionable ones. This was good. What I'd expect. What this proved to me was their sweet cream base is amazing and can be paired with anything really. Lemon Raspberry (5): Wasn't expecting much but this one blew me away. This was my favorite of the group! Sweet and tart and fruity all at the same time with no flavor overpowering another. Very good. Cold Brew Float (4): This is really just a cup of the ice cream of your choice. Then you grab a can of their cold brew and pour it on top. I went with their mint chip. It was good. The cold brew was good. This is something I feel like I'd do at home too. (and I think I will cause we're taking some pints home!) Overall, a great stop on your way to wherever. They have pints to take home as well. Luckily we had a cooler in the car so we took home our favorite flavors. We'll be making this a stop whenever we're in the area now.

But for those of us who want a more modest scoop and don't like to waste food, Lopez Island Creamery presents a challenge. Because even their "Kids" scoop at an affordable $4 is HUGE. Take a look at the pic of my Raspberry Lemonade Sorbet and my hubs' Peaches & Cream on cake cones. They are the size of BIG adult-size scoops. They were both delicious but I couldn't finish mine and felt bad about that. My two relatives each got the "Single" scoop at an affordable $6 each and they each received two HUGE adult-sized scoops. Both my family members couldn't finish their ice creams and had to throw them out. So, you see my dilemma. I hate wasting food and I don't like seeing others waste food too. Perhaps if Lopez Island Creamery offered a "Micro" scoop that was a true, small scoop, I'd give them five stars and would give them another try. Still, this is a tasty ice cream shop tucked away in a non-descript office park setting. You can enjoy your ice cream inside or outside. On a summer weekend day, expect lines. On a weekday, not a problem. Staff are friendly and accommodating and you can sample as many flavors as you want to find just the right one.

Sure,…read moreyou can head just a few blocks over to Safeway and save a bit of cash, as many of the prices at "The Market" tend to run noticeably higher. But for a long time, I thought supporting a local spot was worth the extra coin for the neighborhood vibe. Unfortunately, my last weekend trip completely soured that experience. They say that in the produce section, just one bad apple can spoil the entire bunch--and the exact same philosophy applies to customer service. If you happen to shop on a weekend, you might just run into their most disagreeable staff members, prime examples of whom seem to be holding down the registers. Take Lee F., for instance. I expected a pleasant checkout, but instead received an experience defined by sharp, deeply rude responses that left me wondering why she is stationed anywhere near the public. If management has any sense of self-preservation for their customer base, they might want to consider shifting her to the overnight crew where human interaction isn't a requirement. Until they figure out that a sour cashier can ruin an entire shopping experience just as fast as bruised fruit, I'll be taking my grocery budget elsewhere.
