Amazing find! So many Turkish goodies and one of the only spots in the US where I've found salep latte. The gentleman (I think the owner) at the counter was extremely helpful and kind. My main goal was coffee before the whale tours right across the street but looking forward to returning after to try delicious Turkish food. Visited with my SIL who is from Azerbaijan, so she knows her tea and baklava. I was excited to try the turkish coffee because I'd never had it before. I was hoping it was going yto be made the traditional way with the pot being swirled in the hot sand, but they use a nespresso type machine. I didn't mind though because the owner was nice and I tried the coffee and discovered that it's an acquired taste and it isn't for me, but it was such a nice presentation. I tried the sausage breakfast toast, made with texas toast and sucuk beef sausage and cheese. I liked it. Although I didn't try the baklava and the turkish delight, they were beautiful to look at. What a delightful surprise a Turkish Café with Turkish delights from baklava to coffee to teas and gifts. We were pleasantly surprised by our Turkish coffee, which had a strong, sweet delightful taste. The service at this cafe on a weekend morning was quick and the ambiance reminded me of my visit to Istanbul. Unfortunately it did not meet the bar for us when it came to the food and coffee. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with meat and am so glad I did! The meat was spectacular tasting and so tender it melted in your mouth. The meat was great added to the salad. Best Mediterranean salad I've ever had! I was so hungry I dove right into the salad and forgot to take a picture...sorry. Trust me...looked and tasted great. I've been searching for a place that serves the Turkish orchid flower drink called "salep" for YEARS and stumbled on ZaZa completely on accident today, only to find it on the menu! Anacortes, you have a real treasure here -- it's SO HARD to find salep in the States, and Leo will make it right before your eyes! I would give this place less stars if I could. Lets start off with we drove 30 minutes out of the way, SUPER excited to try this place out. I was under the impression that this was legitimate Turkish coffee, traditionally brewed, when we got inside the guy was nice but not very helpful. Then we proceeded to order and litterally everything was instant coffee. They used a Keurig type machine to pour the Turkish coffee. Very overpriced. I ordered the Cardamom iced coffee, it was litterally milk, with cardamom spice thrown in. No coffee. Tasted like milk and chunky spices floating at the top. When I asked the employee if there was actually any coffee in my drink after taking a taste, he said, yes, I sprinkled coffee grounds in there.... 16$ later with two small drinks (12 ounces) I would not recommend this place. read more
