    California scramble

Had the California scramble, chicken & biscuit (no spicy jam), and a specialty iced carrot cake latte. The scramble was very good. Not a huge portion, but I was content. The chicken and biscuit dish was very good, although a little sticky. We got strawberry jam with it (after we asked) which was excellent. The drink was very ordinary so would give this place 4.5/5*. Friendly server and ambiance.

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Affordable, lovely ambience, and friendly service. I love the diner's breakfast and breakfast sandwich.

Chicken and pancakes with spicy syrup. Jan 2026.

Cute restaurant with a calm vibe in a historic building with historic photos on the walls. Plenty of parking but this restaurant filled quickly on a Saturday morning. It was my friend's second visit and my first. I ordered the Spicy Mocha Guava Mimosa and the Chicken and Pancakes with spicy syrup, asked for extra syrup it was addictive! All of it was delicious, but I needed to take half of it home and they gave me a to go of spicy syrup! My friend had the Eggs Benedict w/ a coffee and a Bloody Mary, said it was perfect. Service was prompt and sweet, got two bottles of cold water delivered without asking, which seems to be rare. Food was served hot. Accommodations were graciously provided. Bottom line: yummy food, nice vibe, and solid service. I'll return to try more dishes!

Visited Sweet Bay Cafe while in town for a wedding! The interior of the restaurant was so cute and cozy, but could still fit several tables. We were seated right away and quickly ordered the Diner Breakfast and the Spicy Scramble. They were exactly what you would want on a weekend morning. The hashbrowns were the best thing. Would definitely come back to try different menu items or their fun lattes.

Solid spot for breakky! A little pricey but what isn't these days? Fried chicken biscuit was freakin yum. Perfect sweet, savory, spicy combo!

    Gingersnap Latte

This place was just what our family needed! A good variety of food options (highly recommend the chicken & pancakes). The service was great, cozy cafe vibes were lovely, and their gingersnap latte was also delicious. A great spot overall!

Do not miss this sweet spot! The atmosphere, service and most importantly, food could not have been better. My husband had his go to eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. I went for one of the specialty breakfasts, Roasted Vegetable Hash and it was out of this world! We will be back anytime we are in town.

Went here for the first time this morning. I'm bummed we hadn't heard of this place sooner, it was fantastic and we're excited to come back! The vibe is relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming. Service is happy and attentive. The food is amazing! I had the monte cristo with turkey instead of ham - it was decadent and flavorful. I really appreciated that they grilled the turkey prior to adding to the sandwich, it was lovely touch. The mixed green salad was crisp and refreshing. My husband had the chicken and pancakes - the chicken was similar to karage, very crispy and seasoned well. The pepper jelly was surprisingly tasty and rounded the dish. Great coffee. Definitely making this our go to breakfast place.

Barnyard Benedict, absolutely a delight to the senses.

We tried the bioluminescence drink and the toasty marshmallow latte. The bioluminescence drink is very aesthetic and drinks like a soda / energy drink, though it is a one and done for me as I don't feel the sparkles are the most healthy thing. The toasty marshmallow latte was a bit pricy at $7.50 but they had 3 pieces of toasted marshmallow that is perfect (s'mores like but not burnt) and there is a lot of drink. It was on the sweeter side for me. They have Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the side but it was a bit stale, but I won't be docking off a star as there's not much to it and everything else was delicious. We opted to dine in for the aesthetics and I'd recommend doing so as there's higher price point doesn't seem as worthwhile if you take these drinks to-go

Oh man was it amazing, got the cardamom coffee to go with a piece of Helva for my little and the Chocolate baklava for me and hubs to split! My little demolished the Helva and hubs and I enjoyed our chocolate baklava at the end of a very fun but busy day! We simply had to give it a try. And continue coming back. Type of cuisine: Turkish fare - from simit and borek, to cardamom or pistachio infused Turkish coffee, apricot and apple teas, baklava and lokum. We have always loved the foods, mostly imported directly from Turkey. Ambiance: Sweet and cozy, the space is full of beautiful Turkish art/craft - from lighting to seating, from merchandise to the tasty treats served, we love our bay window benches and small, tiled tables that barely hold everything we order. The brother-owners are always wreathed in smiles and humble, grateful service. The music is soft, but always a surprise - sometimes Turkish, sometimes rock, sometimes jazzy, always fun and unobtrusive. We also love the huge barrel "tables" used as outdoor seating under a covered "patio". What I ordered: I was sad to hear that they no longer make/serve their refreshing and lovely apricot tea, so I chose a sweet cardamom coffee. My sister each chose a turkish coffee and pistachio coffee. A hot chocolate for my husband and two apple teas for the children. We ordered one of each selection of baklava available - pistachio, walnut, chocolate pistachio, halva and another walnut treat. Not to mention peach and blackberry lokum. We also ordered a potato & cheese sandwich; they ran out of the bread so substituted potato borek topped with cheese for our savory snack. What I loved: Always the service; quiet, humble, spot on. The coffee is truly magnificent and fully takes you back to Turkey. The baklava is sweet and soaked in honey, just like the cafes in Istanbul, and the beautiful lighting mesmerizes each of us every time. Why I loved it: It's always a little escape entering the doors of Ashuri, and like a mini vacation in a home away from home. Cost: Average

Order is messed up, they make it right I've seen and experienced that 100%. Buy a dozen bagels get a card punch. No, REALLY, get a punch card. Now that is said. I am a New Yorker. Don't try and tell me how my bagel is supposed to be. I know. There is a certain pull, and chew that is part of the experience while you savor the texture and seasoning involved. There should be a certain a la dente exterior texture from being boiled. THIS IS IT. There is no other. Pumpernickel bagels and an experience in themselves. I lean more towards the savory side with my bagels because a lot of time at home I make a lox sandwich. I can vouch for the lox spread, jalapeno spread and the highly under-rated cinnamon raisin walnut. The latter is definitely a treat and the former can apply to most bagels and bialys in a highly complementary fashion. The garlic bagel is made to only be toasted with butter, but sometimes I make a breakfast sandwich with them. I only like to go to establishments that have better food or convenience than what I can do at home. I still make my own bagels, because I can. If I could go to ONE place the rest of my life, this would be it. Bravo Bagelry for keeping up your time-honored traditions and being a cornerstone of what I know as Bellingham.
