Bread farm is a great bakery in Edison WA. Before Covid we frequent this place. We have a lot of favorite pastries that can be enjoyed at this place. Years after, they slowly eased the Covid restrictions. Used to be, order your pastries on the side window. No one is allowed inside. Just recent,,thy already allow customers to enter the bakery and check out the goods. We enjoyed the bran muffin and palmier. So good. So crunchy. Always a good experience when we come here. We love their potato bread!! Since we moved north from King County, theirs is the only local source, and it's truly better than what we used to purchase. Great flavour and consistency! And during the late Spring to early Autumn, they usually have a stall at the Anacortes Farmer's Market. read more

Worth coming all the way out here for delicious pastries! I got the potato leek danish and breakfast danish and both were so flakey. The breakfast danish had an easy over egg under all the ham so that was a nice surprise. Service was very quick on a Tuesday morning. My friend bought some bread and luckily I got to try for the first time today. I'm a bread lover I try new bakery whenever I can. I had a freshly baked baguette, potato cheese danish and blueberry danish. I love their baguette that's crispy outside just the right hardness and chewy inside with lots of bubbles. I also liked the blueberry danish, just the sweetness of the blueberries on top of beautifully layered soft bread. Not a fan of the potato cheese danish because of the goat cheese I just don't like. This bakery was a surprise, they are located in the very secluded area. But from now on, I will try to visit whenever I'm in north. read more

We were driving to Samish Island, and happened to spot Breadfarm as we passed through Edison. There were so many tempting items to choose from, it took me too long to decide! I bought 1 Potato Leek Danish ($6.50), 1 Savory turnover ($6), 1 Fruit (blueberry) Danish $5.50, and 1 Tonasket 100% rye bread ($9.50). Service was genuine, small-town friendly, which is just so pleasant. (They do not accept tips, but they do have a donation jar for a local charity organization that changes monthly). We both loved the blueberry Danish, among the best non-chocolate desserts we've had. Oh, my, that was so good! My husband said the potato leek Danish was very tasty, but not worth the calories/fat for him. I liked both the Danish, and the savory turnover (which had some sort of thinly sliced meat strips and melted cheese). They were both special treats that I wouldn't normally have, but was glad I did. We enjoyed the 100% rye bread ("Tonasket") for a week or more. We were hoping, as it's listed as being "naturally leavened", that it would have had a sourdough flavor, but it did not. It did have a nice, strong rye flavor, though, and we both liked the density (of what they jokingly referred to as "The Brick"). One thing we didn't know until after we ordered it, was that it was not baked fresh today, like all their other breads. It was previously baked, and kept in the refrigerator. Prices were quite reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area, and even worth going out of your way a bit if you enjoy fresh, tasty, unique bakery goods. read more

My cousin took me here during my last day in Washington so we could pick up a snack. Some of the bread she bought online that we just picked up, but I also ordered something that I saw on the menu that was available. There was a bit of a line and we had to wait a few minutes to order. You order at a window outside and just take whatever you got with you. This place is located in a cute little town with a lot of art shops and local restaurants, so I'd recommend getting your bread and then walking around. I got a cinnamon snail bread and a potato and leek danish. I also bought one of their shirts because I thought they were unique. Their shirts say "make bread not war," on them. I ate the cinnamon snail bread first, while we walked around town. It was like if a croissant made a baby with a cinnamon roll, super tasty and flakey. I ate my potato and leek danish later that day while I was at the airport and it was the best danish I've ever had. The rosemary really popped and the cheese gave the bread a nice salty flavor. The potatoes gave the danish a unique texture and made it more filling. I wish I had gotten two instead of one. read more

Glorious carbs! Breadfarm is the place to get them. Mostly sourdough based breads that taste divine. But also cookies, danish pastries and other baked goods. It's not cheap, but it's good, possibly the best. And handmade right there using as much local ingredients as possible. You can even get a cup of coffee to go with your cookies. If you want the most assortment to choose from I would recommend coming early in the day, or preorder online a few days in advance. The latter is especially important around holidays. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there is always a donation jar for a local good cause. I don't remember how I found them on Insta but even driving off track en route to Anacortes, there's a line in this tiny town to order here. Service is quick though, watching menu photos disappear as people order in front of you. You stay outside an order window and appreciate the well-maintained honey bucket while they gather your order together. The pastries, especially the almond-based ones, are SO great! The unique almond bostock was a double layer of incredible--as was the flaky flavor of the almond croissant. I wasn't as impressed with the chocolate in the chocolate twists, but the flavor of the croissant dough is still tasty. Beautiful day today for a drive up north to Bow/Edison. Was absolutely floored by a stop in at Breadfarm. They mill all of their own grains and the variety of bake stuffs would blow your mind. Convenient location off of the main road, with both a walk-in ordering area with display cases, and a walk-up ordering window with pictures of all of the amazing 'fat-pills' they have available! We browsed, and then ordered from the window. Everyone working there was passionate about the product, and making sure we were having a great experience. We grabbed an Almond-Bostock, a Kouign-amann, and a sleeve of Hazelnut Espresso Shortbread. Bostock was a heavenly pastry with an almond center, and the Kouign-amann may have been the best pastry I've ever tasted; think of a buttery croissant rolled into a muffin pan that is filled with a caramel that tastes something like an elevated, natural, Worthers. Sweet Jesus! The shortbread is not to be missed. The flavor of the freshly milled grains and local butter are so welcome, and the cookies are not overly sweet in any way. Perfect for a cup of tea or cappuccino! Will be back!! read more

Get here early before all the good stuff runs out! My bf and I are obsessed with the potato and leek danish. It's so flakey, airy and light. I love the onion and chive cream cheese and the sliced potatoes. It tastes even better the next day if you air fry it which makes the potatoes crispy. We also tried the coconut macaroons and they were incredible! Crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. So so good. It's not too sweet either. Service was great! We got a complimentary croissant because it was "too small". It's definitely one of the better croissants that I've eaten. This might be one of my fave bakeries ever! Yes please! I love to visit Bow-Edison for coffee and a treat from Breadfarm, and as the name suggests, one or more loaves of bread. They used to sell their bread a bit further south at the co-op in Mount Vernon, but I haven't seen it recently. So unless you are going up as far as the co-op or farmers market in Bellingham, their quaint shop is place to visit. Plus the town is very sweet to visit! read more

We swung in here on the way down from Bellingham to the tulip fields and I am so glad we stopped by Edison! This lil town was adorable! We walked into BreadFarm on a rainy Saturday morning and were the only ones in there. The store itself is small and cute, with lots of good looking bread ready for you to take home! We got: - French Baguette (discounted that day b/c the baker said it came out softer than usual, I think 15% off of $4.50) - coconut macaroons $1/each - dog treats We ate the coconut macaroons right away and I thought they were delicious. Driving south down Chuckanut on a rainy morning is one of my favorite things, only made better by fresh bread from Breadfarm in Bow! They have their store set up for Covid-safe ordering with a covered window on the side for outdoor ordering and a pick up spot out front. We got the Parisian baguette and their special kalamata olive ciabatta bread both of which were amazing but gobbled up by the family before we had time to get pictures. Both loaves had a perfectly crunchy outer crust with a fluffy inside and the ciabatta had a generous amount of whole olives stuffed inside.
