Took the trek out here for a friends birthday. I have been up to this area multiple times but have never been here. Beautiful area with a fantastic view of the bay. We go here thirty minutes after opening and I'm glad we got here that early! By the time we had ordered the line grew longer and longer. Our friends got here about 20 minutes after us and were in line for a good thirty minutes. There is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor, but on a nice day everyone requests outside by the fire pits to take in the view, and there are limited tables outside. We made it work with our group at two tables. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Frequently checking on us and refilling the fire pits. I had a hot toddy(which I did not drink quick enough as the weather chilled it quick). But it was very good. My wife ordered a bottle of the Cava which she said was very refreshing and clean. We ordered a couple of the food items(shrimp, chowder and a dozen oysters). The oysters were good, a good variety(I couldn't tell which was what), they came with plenty of sauces. The chowder I was excited for as I had never had goeduck, but it was more of a corn chowder and I don't think had any actualgoeduck in it(luck of the scoops I guess). My wife not being a chilled seafood person skipped out on most of the food except for the bread, which was served with butter that was already very cold so spreading it in cold weather did not go very far. The shrimp was good and I don't mind peeling shrimp but most of our group was not a fan. I enjoyed them though. Amongst our group, they also ordered a couple of the whole crabs and the pickled herring. Pickled herring wasn't my jam but a couple of people did enjoy it. Overall I feel this place is something to do for the experience, it was a nice outing, but I don't think I would repeat it. Our friends do go there occasionally, but I would prefer one of the restaurants immediately around the area(Oyster Bar or Chuckanut manor). If you like oysters, definitely should give it a whirl. The baked oysters were walked by us a couple of times and looked good, but I was full from the chowder and oysters. Be prepared if you get there later there will be a line! It was very long by the time we packed up.

Nice views staff was great. We ordered two shuckers dozen, bread, and a salad. The bread came with butter but the bread was ice cold. Wish there was more warm dish options. Oysters were great , when we order another person came up and said that he was missing 3 from his dozen order as well. When we received ours we were under the impression it would be a more of a variety but there were only 3-4 vs the 8-9 they offer. We also only received 23 not 24. Overall nice views, and make sure to count your oysters

Shucker's dozen, geoduck crude, and smoked fish

This was an awesome stop I made while visiting Seattle and the surrounding area. The oysters were all phenomenal (ordered the mix/Shuckers dozen) as well as the smoked fish and geoduck! This was my first time trying geoduck and I thoroughly enjoyed it- The sauce they top this with is delicious! Definitely would recommend giving this dish a try if you have not tried geoduck before. Was very clean and fresh with a slight chew- very similar to conch in my opinion. The restaurant is very picturesque and I would highly recommend making a stop if you are in this area- was well worth the drive and worth spending a few hours to check out their shellfish farm. It is definitely on the pricier side, but felt the prices were fair given how fresh/high quality the food was as well as how busy/popular this place truly was- there was a line out the door when we stopped in, and now definitely understand why. Looking forward returning next time I am in the PNW and would highly recommend to anyone!

The view!

Did we have a gift card? Yes. Would we have paid regardless? Yes. Had a dozen shuckers choice, chili butter baked oysters, a few giant shrimp, and corn chowder with geoduck. Couple glasses of bubbles as well. Knowledgeable staff, unpretentious vibe, delicious food, unbeatable views. If you like their oyster bars in the city - make the drive. Lots of great things up north! 10/10 will return.

All killer, no filler.

Taylor is more than oysters, crab, and geoduck crudo washed down with delicious drinks. Taylor is part of the fabric of the Puget Sound. Honest , delicious and strong, I'm not sure what else one could ask for?

Oyster descriptions

Tldr: be prepared for a long wait to get inside but then refills are faster and the oysters are the best you'll have. People on the hill (up or down) have right of way on the driveway. We were a bit nervous when we had to park towards the end of the driveway (be careful driving down! It's one lane and some people don't read the signs about yielding). It was about 50 minutes (arrived at 1:30) from when we got in line to when we received your oysters. The line got longer as we waited but by the time we left (3:15) it was almost gone. When they have enough staff, you can go straight up to the oyster shucking bar to order a drink for while you wait. If you don't want to wait, you can go to the retail store and purchase something but you will have to shuck the oysters yourself and you will not be able to sit at a table (we saw this policy enforced, which I appreciated being someone that waited in line). Food: I am not an oyster person but I would eat these again. They have good descriptions of each type at the entrance but have less available on hand. My favorites were the Kumamoto. Note you have to pay for and order hot sauce separately! For non oyster eaters, they have a few options: shrimp, crab, rice, bread, salad. But the oysters are the standout! Prices are not any cheaper here vs a restaurant in Seattle but this is a great experience!

A great spot for oysters that's well worth the drive. Parking is limited and on dirt or gravel depending on where you end up parking. It can get crowded during certain hours so you may have to walk a little bit from where you park. They have bother indoor/covered seating and outdoor patio seating available. When you arrive, you stand in a single line to order and are given a table after you pay. If you finish your food and want to order more after, they have a separate station within the dining area. The view is nice, even at low tide. The service is on the more mediocre side. Our party had questions when ordering but were not really given any helpful answers. The person taking the orders also appeared to get increasingly frustrated every time a question was asked. The salad was very underwhelming. It was very over seasoned and overdressed for my personal taste, but the lettuce was very fresh. The grilled oysters had good taste to them. When we received the tray of shucked oysters, the person who delivered them said he didn't know which ones were which, but if we liked them just bring the shells of whichever ones you liked over and they could probably identify them from there. They tasted great nonetheless and the price is very good for what you get. It's worth the drive for the oyster quality and it's fun to read about all of the different oysters that they have.

Stopped by on a Wednesday for a late lunch (~1pm). Both outdoor and indoor seating, with great views of the water. The seats closest to the water were occupied, but we found a nice bar-height table. Small parking lot, with plenty of parking available along the long gravel path parallel to the railroad tracks. Shucker's dozen ($37) - don't fully remember what the oysters/names were even though the waitress identified them, but of varying sizes, all fresh. Come with couple slices of lemon and a mignonette sauce (vinegar + shallots). Geoduck crudo ($18) - quite tasty and large in quantity. Pickled herring ($12) - tasty with seedy crackers as the herring vehicle. Wasn't the expected pickled herring, rather a pickled red onion flavor. Also got a beer (~$7) + glass of wine (~$15) - wish we skipped drinks, and opted for more food. Saw a promo if you sign up for their email newsletter, can get 10% off. Separate counter if you want to buy unshucked oysters for cheaper. I asked for extra ice for the drive back to Seattle, which the employee obliged to. This made the drive more worth (cheaper price), especially if buying in bulk. Overall, worth stopping by here if you're near the area, interested in buying unshucked oysters, etc in bulk, or NEED to eat by the water. 4 stars for the restaurant side, and 5 stars for the market portion. Pricey, idyllic, and fresh.

Smoked fish

I have been looking forward to this experience for years and it did not disappoint. Walking up, you're immediately greeted by the smell of salt and ocean with the perfect PNW vibes. The parking is a bit challenging to get to but promise it is worth it. We got in line to order immediately and I'm glad we did because by noon this place was packed, even in the rain! While in line you can see everyone shucking oyster fresh to your left. We made it to the counter and ordered the Shuckers Dozen, Geoduck Sashimi, Smoked Fish and a few drinks. We were sat under a tent (due to the light rain) outside and had a great view. Our food arrived quickly and I loved every single bite. We received 3 different types of oysters that were all delicious and unique. The Geoduck Sashimi has been on my bucket list to try and while I enjoyed it, the very mild flavor and slightly rubbery textured would prevent me from ordering again. The smoked fish on the other hand was incredible, would definitely get again! If I lived in the area I would be here once a month. Between the perfect oysters, the beautiful view, and the excellent service, this place is something special.

A little over an hour out of SEA/TAC but absolutely worth it! Food: The Oysters were about as fresh as they could be and served raw or grilled. The variety in their selection was appreciated and they explained each variety that was ordered when they served us. The line can get pretty long, but once you've ordered for the first time, they have a re-order station for parties currently seated, so there is no pressure to over order. It's a basically a large shack nestled on the edge of the water and parking can be a bit tough as you'll have to park adjacent to an active train track. The inside is very bare bones, but very comfortable. You're able to sit facing the water or indoors, but either way there is plenty of shade. If you like Oysters and happen to fly into the area I'd definitely recommend coming here!

Hot cider

This place is a drive away but absolutely worthwhile! It took us an hour and a half to get there but even with the rain, it was a nice relaxing drive, getting there about 20m before they open at 11am on Saturday. The salty tang in the air was wonderful. There was a honey bucket in the small parking area just after crossing the rail lines which was great after the long drive :) There was a sheltered waiting area with the menu on several chalkboards. The inside seating was comfortable with a sheltered outside seating area with patio heaters. They were out of shrimp but had everything else. Having freshly shucked oysters was a luxury. Super good, the saltiness of the sea coming through. The baked oysters were pretty good, the geoduck crude was delicious! Presentation was... simple but the freshness with some sliced daikon and ponzu hit the spot. We shared a reasonable bottle of rose and the cup of hot cider prepped me right before the actual meal. Highly recommended, truly a northwest experience not to be missed!

This was on my buck list ever since I saw this featured on the chef show with Roy Choi and Jon Favreau. This place did not disappoint! The drive there was so beautiful and I can't believe this place exists! We had so many oysters and I recommend just getting the dozen special. They know what is fresh and good based on the season. My favorite this time was the Olympia oysters. They do charge for hot sauce and horseradish. The oysters were fairly priced and fresh! I recommend making the trek out here. It was such an amazing experience to dine out right by the water.

Geoduck- so good! Get one and split it if you've never had it before.

VERY COOL spot. You can dress up, you can dress down, this place is so chill so it doesn't matter. Oysters are SO fresh and delicious. We went in May (not a month that ends in -er) and oysters were still incredible. It was also our first time trying Geoduck, which I hear is a PNW speciality. It was really good!! First time ever trying a Muscadet and this wine was incredible with the oysters! It was recommended to us by one of the guys that works there and I'd recommend it to anyone! Pro tip: if you get there a little later (like after 1?) they will serve you beer and wine while you wait in line. Which is SO smart! So look out for that.

Are oysters safe to eat now? the WA Dept of Health issued alerts earlier

Their alerts are specific to certain beaches & locations. They have fresh oysters from all over and I'm sure they are picky. Call ahead to see what they have.

Is there handicap parking?

Yes -I believe if you drive all the way down through the entrance.

Any tips for the best experience? Best time of day to go? Do I need to get there early? Does it get super busy? Planning to go on a Friday or Saturday in November.

Are dogs allowed in the outdoor eating space?

I believe so, I recall seeing some people brought their dogs and I visited when they had outdoor patio dining only!

Can you bring dogs if you choose outdoor seating?

Yes you can. They will also bring your dog a bowl of water.

Are you able to bring outside drink/food still for the picnic area?

No you are not. You can bring a bag of charcoal to bake your purchase shell fish if you want to bake them outside.

Hi, I saw this road down to Taylor Shellfish and it being a one lane road, what happens if a car is coming up when you are going down???…

You stop at the start of the road and look. Anyone coming up should stop at the start of the one lane and look. If there is a car, you do not proceed until that car has cleared the path. Simple courtesy goes a long way.

Is it byob?

No - outside food and beverage is not allowed. The prices are reasonable for draft beer and wine though.

The first was my birthday last year, chosen by a friend (I'd never heard of it). This year I was asked where I wanted to go. I did not hesitate to say here! I couldn't be anything other than delighted in my decision--from the pleasantness inside, the wonderful view from our window, the delightful staff and the incredible food and drinks, this place is wonderful. Lucky me that my birthday was on a Wednesday so I could be totally influenced to have oysters-on-the-half shell due to a generous Wednesday night special. I do love raw oysters--and these were so tiny and briny and so incredibly good, I could have eaten five dozen! (I am kicking myself for not finding out what kind they were, but no matter. I would be happy with any they are serving here, I am sure.) I had already planned on having the Oysters Rockefeller (known here as Manor Rockefeller), and so, despite having just downed some oysters, I went ahead anyway and am glad I did! They were wonderful. And there was no real reason for me to pause for a moment in my decision, having already had oysters, because these were soooooo different. It was almost like eating a delicious oyster casserole in a shell. The Mediterranean Mussels were wonderful! (Notice, I was having a dinner of appetizers...) The broth they came in was beautiful (and drinkable, if one were so inclined). I loved the surprising tastiness of the Mama Lil's Peppers swimming around in it. At first I wondered if they would be too hot and compete with the flavor--overwhelming it--but no! Not at all. They were a perfect and flavorful touch. Absolutely wonderful. (And having said that, I know that "pepper heat" is an individual thing--I can tolerate a goodly amount, fyi--I just didn't taste these as hot at all.) Our server, Drew, was immensely helpful (and always charming!) He paired our food with a delicious wine. I guess we would assign my bowl of clam chowder to the dessert category--very thick and creamy--along with a lovely after-dinner cocktail, made by the wonderful and delightful bartender, Sherry. She made me a lovely mocktail to start--I asked Drew to have the bartender just make something up on a whim. It was pretty, colorful and delish with what in it, I have no idea. But, not only was it delectable, it was a vision! All festive and fuchsia, with a "bartender's cherry," and a hot pink umbrella. When I learned Sherry made it, I was so happy because I remembered her from last year--very skilled and very fun to chat with. A wonderful birthday--I highly recommend the Manor.

I will say the oysters were very fresh and enjoyable. We also got the crab Mac n cheese which was cheesy and tasty. We asked him for some more chips since we ran out quickly for the smoked oyster dip. He seemed annoyed but got us more. I could overhear that he sounded more pleasant with the other guests surrounding us. The mussels tostada flavors were nice but I didn't love the texture of them which is totally just my preference. He dropped off the check shortly after and noticed there was a 18% gratuity which I found out is standard for downtown Seattle. Being in the industry I do think it's a courtesy to mention it when dropping off the check to a guest. On another note, I did think the seafood tank in the center was cool because you could see all the geoduck and oysters they were offering. Overall, I think we wanted to enjoy our experience more but the servers attitude and demeanor towards us was off putting and we just tried to eat quickly and leave. Don't think we'll return to this location.
