I grabbed the Asiago Sourdough bread for my chicken pesto paninis to make at home, and it was fantastic! Also to note: they have samples of all the days freshly-baked offerings. Walked in, saw that white bread was $9 for a loaf, walked out. I've had some great harvest products, and they're okay. Just okay. But I don't care how good of a bakery you think you are, you aren't $9-for-a-loaf-of-white-bread good. Just say you hate poor people outside on a sign or something so we don't waste our time. Since I moved to Bellingham, I have always been loyal to a different bread company, but I recently started trying Great Harvest and baby, I am never going back! During Covid, Great Harvest has created a drive through on the side of their building. When you arrive, you pull up and the daily menu is displayed in the window so you can see all the items they have fresh and ready. When you get to the "window" (sliding door) one of their friendly employees is there to run and get whatever fresh baked goodness you want! I recently got a Jewish friend one of their Challah bread and it was one of the nicest loaves I've ever seen, and she agreed. I went yesterday and picked up some of their Dakota seed loaf, which is made with tons of good seeds, and a loaf of their cinnamon sugar monkey bread and neither disappointed! Oh, also they sometimes give you a fresh slice of bread for free with your order so you can snack on the drive home... like what!! read more

Huge disappointment! I paid $11.00 for a loaf of cranberries and walnuts bread. It was so dry and flavorless I threw it away.

Delicious freshly-baked breads, great service, and a free tasting sample with each visit... you can't go wrong. Great Harvest primarily sells bread for slicing, along with a few sweet options, all freshly-baked. There are a variety of grains used. This is one of my go-to spots when in town to visit family. I was in town and wanted to pick up some treats for customer. I am so so happy i found this place. When you walked in, they made you welcome and offer some sample. I love scones so i tried the raspberry with cream cheese. I got 2 boxes of varieties for my customer and decided to 2 scones for myself. The bread looks great too! After I finish the first one I knew I had to go back and buy more for later. But by the time I retuned it was sold out!! I hope they keep this flavor because I will be back. Best bread in town!! Every time I purchase my bread from a chain grocery store wishing 2-4 days I have mold growing on it!! Even with a bread box and tight sealing. Best bread in Bellingham central (Bread Farm is best overall) with excellent customer service and multiple options for gluten free breads, treats and cookies. Try anything as a sample, and check for daily rotations and offerings. They constantly have a delectable monthly special too! Parking is okay, due to a private lot, but make sure to enter and exit the right way on the one way streets! Try the spelt bread- tastes better than most usual breads, much less a gluten free loaf! Check this place out. They have your typical sandwich loaf of bread in several flavors, but they also have breads with original flavors. They always allow you to sample their breads when you walk in, so you can usually see if you like a bread before you buy it. I really like that they have gluten free breads, and I enjoy their applesauce cinnamon buns they sell individually. The breads are all super tasty and they have a rewards-style card (buy so many loaves, get one free) which is a bonus. They also have a "day old" section that gives you 20% off the items that are there. This place is great, but a little on the pricier side, so I tend to go here for a special loaf, not my sandwich breads that I use frequently. read more

The bread at Great Harvest is what I consider the best and healthiest in Bellingham WA. At my doctors recommendation I started eating the Kamut Bread. Going in once a week to get my bread. I do not own a car and have to travel by bus to get to the shop. On Friday 2/7/14 we had a very very light dusting of snow. The store said because of the snow they did not make the bread but would be making it on Saturday. When I called the store on Saturday they said no one should have told me that. It just seems the store does not have enough leadership. read more
