Back home for a bit and wanted to try out the new Pho restaurant. That was the best decision I made! It's the old Frank's Place - which I've never been to my entire life I've been here. The outside is repainted and the inside looked wonderful! It's just tacky to still have the statues outside, but that's okay. Some things just need to stay as is because it's history. We were greeted and got to sit anywhere we wanted. I was there for Pho so that's what I got. The house special. It was so delicious! Vegan options are pretty limited. Our fresh rolls honestly just felt like rice paper and noodles, and tofu seemed like an afterthought. I was excited to have a spot like this nearby, but waiting 40 minutes for 2 fresh rolls just wasn't worth it. I wanted to like this place. We went here to see what the make over since Frank's place was in this location. We ordered a tea and mache latte. Both were good and flavorful although served in a take out cups. We also ordered chicken wings which were crisp but mostly flavorless and may have taken a second trip in the fryer. Again served in a take out box without plates. The sampler of spring rolls were also lacking flavor and were a bit small on added main ingredient such as shrimp. We finally had to obtain a separate plate to eat off. It seemed that neither owner/operator was friendly and had the wrong demeanor to operate a restaurant. We did not order the hot dogs but someone near us ordered them and they seemed like corn dogs like you buy at the grocery store. I have never had Pho or any other Vietnamese dishes before and Oak Harbor had its first Vietnamese restaurant open a few weeks ago. So I decided to give it a try. I ordered the Chicken Pho and also Chicken Bahn Mi. I was very pleased with my order and thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Trinh's Corner on SR 20 in Oak Harbor. The pho was awesome, and this from someone that typically does not like soups. The light broth was tasty and the chicken was tender. The owner came by my table and welcomed me to his restaurant. I told him that I had never had Vietnamese food before. He told me that typically the diner would dip the chicken slices (or whatever protein) in a mix of sriracha and hoisin sauce. But he cautioned that it would be spicy. I assured him that I love spicy and proceeded to take his advice! The bahn mi was also incredibly yummy. While the pho had slices of chicken the bahn mi had cubes of chicken, as well as slices of cucumber, carrot, onion, and jalapeno, with spring onion and cilantro. The restaurant was very clean, bright, and airy. The staff is friendly, polite, and helpful. read more

So happy to have a Vietnamese option in Oak Harbor. I had the chicken Vermicelli bowl ( Bun Thit Nuong) and it was very tasty with a generous amount of chicken. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will be back. read more

I have never left a negative review for a restaurant in my life, but I felt like this needed to be said. I've spent time in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, and was more than excited to finally get a Vietnamese place back in Oak Harbor. I ordered the shrimp fresh spring rolls, pork banh mi, and beef vermicelli bowl. After dipping my spring rolls in the flavorless peanut sauce, the first bite overwhelmed my senses with the taste and smells of cooked shrimp that had been left in the baking sun for hours. I'm not sure how they recreated this flavor in late February in Oak Harbor. I tossed the spring rolls after the first bite. Next was the banh mi, which I thought would be the star of the show after seeing they made it the OG way with pate'. After biting into it, I was met with the shock of being dunked in an ice bath by the cold slices of fatty pork. Not room temperature, but refrigerated cold. It was one of the most unappetizing things I've ever subjected my mouth to. I popped it into the microwave for 30 seconds and it was about as good as it sounds. At this point in my culinary journey, my confidence in the vermicelli bowl was quite low. After pouring the room temp (Swanson's chicken broth??) onto the bowl I could only take a few bites before tossing this as well. I ordered 3 of the 4 non-dessert items on the menu (didn't try the pho) and all of it was served with room temperature or below meat (Danger!). Needless to say I spent the next few days in the bathroom as my body needed to expel the harmful bacteria. I also do want to say that my order was for pickup and I ate them within 10 minutes of being served to me. These were definitely not plated warm. After a $47 bill (they charged me a $1 fee for each item that I got to go ) I realized I should have just gone to Naung Mai if I wanted anything resembling an authentic SE Asian culinary experience here in Oak Harbor. The one good thing I can say about Trinh's Corner is that whoever is creating the menu is on top of the social media food trends. They serve a biscotti croffle, which is a desecrated croissant covered in preserved processed sugar. Ordered the House Pho, beef Banh mi, popcorn chicken and fries for entrees (kids). We had Taro milk tea and lychee jelly tea for drinks. Service was quick and timely. The restaurant feels like most Vietnamese restaurants so there was a nostalgic touch of you're used to Vietnamese eateries. The food was delicious, my only gripe was not having basil and mint for the pho veggie plates (bean sprouts, jalapeño's, and lime). The banh mi was delicious and my kids loved the popcorn chicken and fries (boba shop food fare). It's great to finally have a true Vietnamese restaurant in Oak Harbor. read more

Visited Trinh's Corner for lunch and were warmly welcomed and seated. Our waiter was very prompt, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was fresh and delicious! I had the "Bun" -YUM! Can't wait to try their Pho! The ambiance is ok; not much in the way of decor, but it's really clean, and to me, so much more important than flashy decor. Once in a while, hubby and I looked for other restaurants in the area. We didn't know what to expect upon entering Trinh's Corner next to Sushimoto restaurant. Boy, we were glad to find out that they offer pho (Vietnamese noodle soup). We've been trying pho in different places we've visited and Trinh's Corner is up on top of our list. They also offer other dishes such as Korean cuisine and some Asian dishes. The portions were generous and the service was quick. Juan, our server was pleasant and did really well multitasking (ie. sitting guests, serving, clearing tables, cashiering, etc.). We were pleasantly surprised about how nicely they transformed the place from the former establishment. It looks clean even though it is small. They could certainly replace the entry door to make it look more inviting. Also, it's a plus when the owner said "thank you" upon our exit. read more

Trihn's Corner is definitely a wonderful addition to Oak Harbor! Very clean inside and you can tell the indoor decor and details were a labor of love. The pho was outstanding! Any time I get pho (my fav meal on a rainy day much like today), brisket pho is my go-to and they delivered it with great flavor and hearty broth. All ingredients taste very fresh. Speaking of fresh, their fresh spring roll was packed with fresh tasting lettuce, cucumber, and shrimp. The peanut sauce on the side made it that much more enjoyable. At the end of the meal, I ordered the ube cold foam coffee and was very satisfied with the flavor and texture. Growing up with ube flavored foods, this coffee really reminded me of my cultural roots. Will definitely become a regular here and can't wait to keep coming back! read more

Trinh and her husband Jason are so caring with every customer, always making sure everyone feels welcome and happy. The pho was rich and flavorful, the egg rolls were perfectly crispy, and the drinks were refreshing and beautifully presented and clearly made with fresh ingredients and passion. It's exciting to finally have a Vietnamese restaurant in Oak Harbor. The staff was attentive, the place looks very nice. We had the steak pho. We've eaten pho in Everett for 20+ years (and elsewhere), so we do have a fair idea of what to expect. If I can offer a couple suggestions, the salt level in the broth was too much, and it created an unbalanced flavor. The star anise, clove, etc. was overpowered, and those flavors could use a boost as well. I know that we were lucky to have come just shortly before they completely sold out of pho today, so perhaps the broth had concentrated in the pot as it stayed hot. I notice that the pictures of pho others have posted had broth that looked quite a bit lighter in color, so maybe it was an issue with overconcentration. It wasn't bad, but it could be stellar with some tweaks. I hope this place thrives. We'll be back to try the banh mi sandwich. read more
