I, like many people, enjoy really good Mexican food just like la nana used to make. The Tacos Tecalitian food truck at Anacortes meets the challenge. I'm reviewing the truck at Anacortes, not the eatery in Burlington. We find the quality at the food truck is superior to Burlington. However, whether you patronize any of the outlets the one thing that makes them stand out is the large variety of meats available. We chose to partake of shall we say the more exotic selections which adds to the authenticity. The other plus is the value; outstanding food at incredibly low prices. With today's Trump prices you can still afford to feed a family. I can't really say much about the ambiance, it's a food truck. Most people get their orders to go but there is a couple tables under cover for those who prefer to "dine out". Unless the weather is too cold and/or windy we prefer to "eat out" and enjoy the entree's while they are still hot and tasty. read more

Stumbled upon this food truck after an afternoon at Deception Pass & got a carnitas burrito (added cheese) & it was the best burrito I've ever had! In my opinion, this is one of the top three taco places in town. The outdoor pickup window is quick and efficient if you just want to grab something to go. If you're staying a while, the inside offers ordering at the counter and abundant seating both inside and out. Outdoor seating has patio heaters to keep you warm. My favorite is by-far their chorizo, which isn't too greasy (a problem at some places) and the perfect level of spice. I rarely give less than 4-5 stars to a restaurant, especially during COVID. But I was very disappointed in this place for three reasons. First, they left out three items in my order. I understand one item, but three is too excessive for a good review especially since I paid for all of them plus a 20% tip. Second, on top of that they screwed up my order. I asked for no beans and rice in a burrito and it came loaded with more beans and rice than any other ingredient. Third, my basic order took much longer than everyone else there. I stopped by here before boarding the ferry in Anacortes and ordered items that should've been quick and easy. Buy they kept on making the orders that came after me, so I had to wait for everyone else to receive their order before I got mine. Maybe it was because everyone else was a 'regular' (admittedly that's a total assumption), but it was very frustrating for all the orders after mine to be fulfilled first. If you think this will be a quick stop before boarding a ferry, think again. There are restaurants closer to the ferry you should consider before stopping here. read more

Under the "auto mall" sign is this hidden taco truck that kinda blends in with the trucks and vans for sale. Super fast service! You can eat there under a covered canopy with three picnic tables, or you can take out. I had the carne asada, Al pastor and carnitas tacos, with added green sauce. Highly recommend! read more

Most competitive street tacos you'll find in the area. This is the only place I crave tacos from whilst living in Oak Harbor. Meat is always so tender and juicy. Tortillas have never broken while eating. Truly appreciate the finely chopped cilantro and raw onions topped on all tacos. The green salsa acidity balances out the richness at a medium heat. Red salsa is a delicious higher heat. Have ordered Asada, Adobada, Cabeza, Tripa. Must visit for delicious tacos! Great fast service. This Taco Truck is parked right under the Skagit Valley Auto Mall sign off SR 20 in parking lot. There is a permanent covered bench. Ambiance is up to the weather. This place was popping around lunch time. So many people queued up to but their food. I thought their food tasted pretty good but the portions were seriously paltry. Imagine a chipotle burrito. It is about 2/3rds of that burrito so it was pretty disappointing. My toddler could eat that burrito herself. It was good but we pert still hungry. They have good food and there prices are pretty good. I'm leaving a one star review because my husband and I put in an online order (well we ended up doing two). My husband went in and gave them his name. She handed him an order. He came back and asked if that was what we got. I said no there was a lot more food. I looked on the receipt and it was someone else's name. He went back in to correct the wrong and the lady told him that he gave her the wrong name. She kept saying it was his fault. Finally she looked at the receipt and said oh it's this other guys order. Then proceeded to get mad at my husband for having opened the bag before he brought it back. She then proceeded to hand that same bag of food to the correct owner. After it has left the store and was brought back. That's not ok. They should have remade the food for the other guy. It's not supposed to be reserved once it's left the store. So for that and the plain rudeness we won't be going back. read more

Came to the taco truck location in Anacortes. I was optimistic about trying another taco spot since moving to the island. First of all the horchata was not good it was too sweet and not authentic at all. I ordered a burrito and a Torta with carne asada. Now the Carne Asada was ok nothing special I was glad it wasn't all fat but my torta was sad. Tortas are supposed to come with beans, meat, cabbage, avocado, and mayo or sour cream. This torta was not toasted had no mayo, no beans and a small sliver of avocado. It was disappointing to say the least. Now for the Burrito it was not made in a tortilla meant for burritos, which made the dish look like a big taco (not in a good way). Not all food trucks are created equal! Blink to many times on your way to Anacortes, you may miss one of the few places that can offer some of the very best tacos and just about the right size burritos this or any food truck has to offer. As a common restaurant, constrained to one place would not come close to doing this food truck justice! This is a truck that has found one home near Anacortes and found that sweet spot between how to find it's clienteles and how to get them to keep them coming back for more. If it weren't for my dear wife I may have not given this particular review more than a few sentences! On that day I would finally find out that there may be an entire different type of meat from the steer I've not given a second thought, LENGUA!!! Thinking about all the times passing this by over the years I would come to regret those times with my first bite of the burrito that sun filled day. Even after sneaking a sample of that meat into one or two of my family members burritos and noticing the look of amazement on there faces would be some thing I know I'd soon not forget. This is one of the very few places that serve food on wheels I have frequented over the years to find it only gets better with each new, to you, item I've tried, even brought doubters to and changed the way they've thought about any food truck. Even to call in during there busy times is some thing I had not thought any food truck had the capabilities, this one does. If there were one thing they could improve would be the internet! to drive out and find there not there when the net says its supposed to is a little disheartening, so in my travels I've learned to just call them to make sure there out by the car lots cooking up a great time. read more

This is probably one of the most authentic Mexican food establishments I've seen in Anacortes, WA. Upon arrival, I was greeted and asked for my order. The prices were great and the food only took 5 minutes to come out. I ordered two tacos de asada and two quesadillas (asada) and it came out to less than $13. The quesadillas were a great size (Texan size) and SO tasty! The only thing that kept this from being amazing was the amount of grease that the quesadillas had. This truck is awesome. They are always really friendly and fast. They have lots to choose from and I've never had a bad meal there. The Cabeza tacos and the pork quesadillas are my favorite. Someone below left a negative review about them being late and not answering the phone. I've never had that experience and I work at the Shell Refinery just down the road.
