Id give this food truck 6 stars if I could!!! This burger joint is incredible!! The burgers are fantastic and giant. They are incredible juicy with their special sauce, pickle, tomato and lettuce. The patties are NOT thin and NOT like a thin fast food burger. Even the brioche buns are a perfect pairing. Thick, juicy and an ultimate hangry killer! Honestly some of the best burgers we've had in a long while. And the prices are insanely reasonable. $12 for a big burger and fries. I couldn't even finish it all. Also these have this really awesome Burger Challenge for $50. If you can finish it all in 30min it's free with a free winner shirt. It's a 6 patty cheese burger, 3 grilled cheese, 12 pieces of bacon and pieces of brisket. But comparing our large burger to the description above, I think it would be a difficult challenge. The employees are very friendly, helpful and happy. This truck is definitely worth the drive. Located right by the main entrance of Deception Pass State Park. And they have wayyyyyy better prices than the burgers at Shrimp Shack. I can't wait to come back!! read more

My hubby and I went to the food truck down by deception pass last week. They were training so had a limited selection of burgers, but that's ok. Both the items we wanted were available. My husband got the one that has an onion ring (kinda like a western burger, forgot the name) and I got the inferno. I'll start by saying the fries were perfectly cooked and I thought they had a good flavor to them. The burger was also good. I asked for the inferno sauce on the side, cause the burger already has jalapeño on it, and boy am I glad I did. The sauce was too hot for my liking. No biggie just kept it off, it tasted great without it and wasn't dry or anything. I will definitely go back another time. read more

I usually don't do food trucks, but with so little burger options on the island, decided to give it a try. I will say the burgers are pricey, but not overly expensive. The order takes a while because they make it fresh when you order. But you won't care about either of those two points when you bite into your delicious burger! I had a loaded Bubba which is just a regular burger with their special sauce and it was fantastic. I would put this up against Five Guys or Fatburger any day. The fries and onion rings are good - but not the best I have ever had. The people are nice and I will be going back soon. read more

No need to breakdown the levels of each ingredient because it all just comes together like that perfect day where everything is just right in the universe. They have homemade tater chips. 3.5 stars. Loaded burger and fries ($5 EXTRA.. ?!?) were good, but not great. Special "sauce" (mayo + sour cream + spices) was a nice add, but the patty appeared to be pre-made and was just fine. What I really can't get over were the extremely high prices. They are charging sit down restaurant prices at a food truck. For those prices, I expect amazing food. In addition to the high menu prices, their tipping options (when paying with a card) are higher than the typical 15% / 20% / + theirs are set to 18% / 25% /++++++. Again, it's wild to me that they would expect (or hope for) tip percentages that high on already expensive food, where they did nothing except take your order and later hand you a bag. No table or bus service. I acknowledge that food prices all over are higher, but this was ridiculous for the business and service type. For reference, the loaded burger at Bubba was $2 more expensive than a cheeseburger at Five Guys and about a third as good. read more

If you could physically compile all the ingredients that form the American Dream into a burger, this is what it would taste like. Their Loaded Burger should be renamed the American Dream Burger. Or maybe The Perfect Burger. How else can I describe it? I mean, I didn't see one but who has? These burgers are actually made by the Flame Broiled Ninja's in this truck on the side of a road. I feel ashamed I didn't get any of their names. But they were SO nice and service was fast. My wife and I wanted a little weekend adventure so we came to Whidbey Island, knowing nothing about it. So as we were driving off the ferry. we both immediately felt like we did driving around the island of Oahu. They too have food trucks randomly parked on the side of the road. And what do you do when you see one of those shrimp trucks? You damn well better stop. Or else you will miss out on an experience. And that's what Bubba Flame Broiled Burgers is, an experience... in ya mouth. So pull over! There weren't that many people there at about noon on a Saturday so the food came out real quick. It's CASH ONLY which we didn't realize but luckily we had cash on us. We ordered their Loaded Burgers with their chips. And if I had one bit of feedback, I have to say the chips were the only part of the experience that didn't match up with the level of flavor from the burger. I felt like the chips needed to rest outside the fryer about a minute longer and they need a special Bubba seasoning they can sprinkle on every chip. It looked like they had some pepper on it, but the pepper flakes were too big. And didn't really taste much salt. So if they can figure out how to powder on a kickass seasoning to match their kickass burger... then they don't just have a recipe for the best burger combo on Whidbey Island, or in the state of Washington. They have a frickin' burger empire in their hands. These guys EASILY beat any burger we've had from Red Mill, Burgermaster, Kidd Valley, The People's burger... and it DESTROYS that fake In N Out chain called Cali Burger. These guys can go big if they wanted to. Another truck, parked downtown Seattle in Westlake during lunch would EXPLODE in popularity. (Trust me, I know my food trucks. I am on a food truck diet.) But if not? I think people who know about Bubba Flame Broiled Burgers will be happy to keep them all to themselves. We WILL be back someday. This burger alone is enough to warrant another ferry trip. read more

If there is a better burger place on Whidbey Island I haven't found it yet. First, this a take out burger place. It does not have pretensions of being a fine dining establishment. It's burgers are great; the homemade chips are delicious, and nice change from french fries. I usually grab lunch whenever I'm on the Island, at least if it's Wednesday through Saturday. This is probably one of the best burger places in the Puget Sound region. The burgers are deliciously messy, so make sure you get plenty of napkins. We were in the area and stopped because of the good reviews. We had the burger, grilled cheese and fish and chips. Everything tasted great. Not the best I've ever had but everything was cooked right. The chips were outstanding. It's worth the stop. *Be warned if you have a dog. The lady running the shop was a little touchy about dogs. Our dog barked at another dog eating next to us, like dogs do sometimes. Before knowing what was going on the lady running the shop yelled, "get that dog to your car." Very good - food & atmosphere. We came here because we were getting "hangry" and needed food ASAP!! We agreed that I'd wait in the car with the dog while boyfriend got the food... That is until he saw the staff singing, joking, ringing bells & had to grab me from the car to witness. Food was very good (garden burger for vegetarians) and boyfriend was happy with his burger. If you have no sense of humor (Bree L.!), please stay home. These ladies are hysterically funny. The "schtick" is part of the experience. It's like s meal and a show. The food was great. Cardiac burger, Bleu burger, Veggie burger, and a grilled cheese made everyone happy. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of chips and do prefer fries, but I respect a place that goes something unique, and does it well. The pepper plus salt was a nice touch. I rarely give out 5-Star Reviews. I'm from New York, so obviously everything in the PNW, foodwise, is terrible by comparison. That is, until I ate my first Bubba Flame Grilled Burgers Saturday Special, the Steak Sammie. I have eaten a lot of food. I mean.. But I have never eaten something so perfectly conceived, crafted, and executed since my last double-double at In-n-Out. The meat is one big steak, thin cut, but melt in your mouth tender. Still rare, yet perfectly warm against the dressings of horseradish mayo, red onions, sautéed button mushrooms and shredded iceberg which was the right choice. I had no idea that they were doing this until my friend Debbie told me, "you have to try one." I have to admit, I was skeptical, but Bubba really delivered the goods with this sandwich. It was pretty much a $13 sandwich but I swear I would've paid more. read more
