I was a little nervous going in because I consider myself a hot dog connoisseur and my preferred dog is some version of 3 Carolina dogs for $10. It's fair to say that this is at the opposite end of that spectrum. Also any time a knife and fork is suggested for eating a hot dog my first thought is that it's sacrilegious. However..... I love this place. It is a locally owned hot dog shop in a parking lot and if you like hot dogs then you will be a fan like me. They have a few different types of hot dogs and you can't go wrong with any of them. I often like to order the chili dog as it is pretty filling and holds up well with a nice and toasted bun. The staff are always super friendly and they have lots of different toppings for your dogs like several types of mustard, relish, pickled jalapenos, sauerkraut and raw onions. For an upcharge you can get things like grilled onions or bacon. It of course is more expensive than a Costco dog (which I also do get and enjoy) but it is still affordable and has a lot more variety as they also have hot links and brats. The dogs here are top quality! I've been here about six or more times and I can't stop getting them because they are so so good. The service is great every time. They're always really nice and it's a family owned business which I think is a really sweet. It's nice. You have outdoor seating and it's shaded so it's perfect for any weather condition. Weather it's sunny or rainy. The food is so amazing. I'm pretty sure they make their dogs from scratch from what I heard no store bought garbage, and absolutely love their buns and how everything is grilled rather than boiled and also it's nice. I've driven by this place several times and I was really having a craving for a chili dog. It was a semi warm day and since all of their seating is outside (covered), I enjoyed some time at one of the picnic tables. The gentleman/cook was extremely friendly! Food took a little longer than I expected, but not horribly long by any means. It was a good experience, and I would definitely return, but if I could make any recommendations to the owner or cooks, the chili was just a bit bland. I know not everyone has gourmet or authentic styles of chili, and because it was on the more reasonable end of the price spectrum, I get it. Decided to come down to Bothell and check out Dandy's dogs. I live in Everett. It was roughly just under 20 minutes on the freeway. Normally Id take the scenic route but I didn't want to waste time. I pulled up and lo and behold there she was. It's a nice little hut / food cart on wheels that's permanently fixed. It shares the parking lot with some other restaurants, and a chef's supply store. It's also centered in a park and ride that shuttles Amazon and Microsoft employees. A great location. I already perused the menu dozens of times so my order was quick. I chose the big dog and the red hot. Plus a coke. For the big dog I decided on sour kraut and mustard, which was free and for the red hot, I got cheddar cheese. It was a minimal charge but I then added onions from the free condiment bar. The condiments are a huge swath options so if you don't want to pay for a premium topping you'll be fine with those options. The red hot was first. Good thick sausage. It had a spice that was subtle enough to catch me off guard but then subsided once my palate adjusted. the cheddar was good but I'd prefer a cheese sauce but the onions were perfect. The bun has a hoagie type look, feel and texture and it was toasted so it helped the red hot in terms of balancing the heat, and bite with condiments. The big dog followed soon after. Good dog with a split and nice beginning char. It was savory and juicy. It paired well with the mustard and kraut. I believe the bun was the same. All in all a good spot to have a quick lunch. I got my food to go but decided to eat in their covered patio area. Beautiful day. I recommend going if you're in the area and wanting a dog or two. I'm ll be back. read more

Dandy Dogs is one of our go to quick bite places when we're in the area. We will actually plan our home depot runs based on when we can pick up lunch at the same time. Home depot is across the street from the complex where Dandy Dogs is located. When you drive into the parking lot, Dandy Dogs looks more like a food truck but it is a semi-permanent fixtures there. They also have picnic benches to sit and enjoy your fresh hot dog and on a sunny day. And just in case it's raining, they have tents over some of the benches to protect you from the rain. So you can enjoy Dandy Dogs all year round! They have all beef hot dogs and polish hot dogs. They toast their buns on the grill which makes the hot dogs so much better. They are made to order so they are hot and fresh. They even have a condiment bar so you can add your own toppings. They even have a variety of mustards ti choise from. It's so good! Finally dropped by this place after knowing about it for a long time, so glad I did as it is a great quick and satisfying meal. The place was pretty busy on a sunny lunch time, but the staff were super friendly and quick to get through customers. I had the Polish dog and a small meal (with chips and a drink), while my partner had an all Beef dog large meal (comes with a side order). Both hot dogs tasted great, and the side (potato salad on this occasion), was fresh and delicious. There are plenty of free condiments so you can prepare your hot dog as you desire. Since it's in a parking lot area there's plenty parking, and there are plenty seats available, most shaded too so you can relax in the sun or out of the rain! I liked the selection of sauces - not just ketchup and yellow but a variety of mustards and other sauces. I opted for the Coney Island sauce on my all-beef dog that I made a bacon dog. The Coney Island sauce was their take on the secret sauce, aka thousand island. With the cream cheese, grilled onions, and chopped bacon on top it was a little much and was falling apart. I would have to say Dandy Dogs serves up some of the best dogs I've ever had. Seriously! I've been to some places that called what they were serving up as "Gourmet" dogs, but none have ever come close to what they serve up at Dandy Dogs. It's all about simplicity, quality and options. While not as simple as the push cart dogs with the just a steamed hot dog and a warm bun with relish and mustard. It's simple enough to offer up enough options to make you think, but not so much that you spend forever figuring out what you want. Quality/quantity, they take the time to actually make 'em up, meaning they toast that bun and your choice of dogs, beer, brat, polish or red hot, are nice and hot and for any toppings, they aren't stingy, that's for sure. I only base that from the fact that there was some waiting involved, not a lot mind you, but enough to know that they are making something that isn't just "put hot dog in bun, wrap and serve." It is some thing definitely well worth that short wait. Then to top that off, at the condiment bar is a wonderful selection of additional sauces and toppings you can add your self. More than just ketchup, mustard, onions and relish. In addition to the afore mentioned there is also sauerkraut, sweet or dill relish, various types of mustard, as well as sauces, mayo. Yeah, you can definitely dress it up nicely. It isn't gonna pretty though so you'd better stock up on the napkins. They are also super nice with wonderful customer service. Now while I do love the dogs at a Mariner's game, Costco and the street vendors outside the bars on a Friday and Saturday nights downtown Seattle (do they still do that? Been awhile for me), none seem to have the same offerings Dandy Dogs has, I mean Cream Cheese and Bacon, chili and cheese, or just a plain dog and bun, and that condiment bar...Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen better. If there is let me know, I'd be curious to see how it compares. It's probably a good thing I don't live closer otherwise I'd probably be eating there weekly. For now, only when ever we go to the US FOODS CHEF STORE in Woodinville/Bothell. So if you ever get up (or down) that way it's definitely worth the stop. read more

I was running some errands nearby and wanted to try something new for lunch so I hopped on Yelp. I saw Dandy Dogs and immediately wanted to check them out since I love a good hot dog. The trailer is situated in the middle of the US Foods parking lot and there's plenty of parking available. The staff was super friendly as I ordered a couple beef hot dogs with bacon, I got some chili on the side too to give it a taste. The dogs are big, I probably should've only had one but I was super hungry. The dogs are also hella delicious, some of the best I've had from an unassuming stand.
