I have had progressively worse experiences at this point- decided to give it a try again- fortunately it smells like sewer leak as soon as you walk in so expectations should be a given - and the two people on staff were on their phones when we walked in. the restaurant is very dirty. smudges on the menus - filthy carpet but " time to lean means time to clean" isn't a thing here. line cook didn't wear gloves, should have probable had a hairnet on but even that could not have prepared me for him sticking his elbow up in the air while I was watching and him picking at his skin. both were dirty and unkempt and I ended up just asking for a refund of my food. we got donuts - oil hasnt been changed regularly either. Will never ever go back again. the absolutely most disgusting ten mins I've ever spent in a restaurant - which is saying something since I've worked in them for 40 years. read more

Great little boba shop hidden in the PCC parking lot in Canyon Park. My niece and I discovered this cute little boba shop that serves up tasty boba drinks, smoothies, Korean rice dogs, and DOUGHNUTS! Usually we are just there for drinks but this time we got a doughnut, blueberry, and it was delicious. Very doughy and fresh tasting, next time I wanna try their cheesecake doughnut. The inside seating is fairly small but cozy and they have board games to play and a claw machine where you can win small prizes. Cute shop, easy kiosk ordering, efficient operation. These doughnuts are light, and airy and are offered in fun flavors. The churro one was our favorite- a light, airy and not too sweet churro. Also tried the funnel cake doughnut and the Homer Simpson strawberry one. These are fun treats and I can see the novelty, however they were too oily for my taste. As many of you, in the Bothell area, Mochinut opened and then it closed "for maintenance" for several months. During this time, it apparently changed hands and now has new ownership. Before the closed down, I paid for two Korean dogs and after paying, their machine broke, so the employees then wrote me a "gift card" for me to bring back and get my two Korean dogs at a later day when they fixed it - all of us thinking it would be just a few days. They ended up closing for "maintenance" and then stayed closed for a couple of months - when I suppose this is the time it changed hands. I went in today with my "gift card" and ordered the two Korean dogs (which I had already paid for with the old owners) and ordered some other items as well. The employee took it to her manager. The manager then took it to the new owner, who was literally sitting 5 feet away from me. She said NO! Then after I explained the situation again, she said that she give me one. Not the two on the card. I totally get it. I could have been absolutely a liar and taking advantage. BUT I am not and was not. So, yes, it would have been nice for her to honor the words and obligations of the previous owners (she didn't keep any of the old staff either which made me sad because they were incredible staff and known for their great customer service), but she chose not to. Then the electronic menus were not working so the staff member had to read to me about a few things. Then I paid cash and they didn't even have coins to give me correct change. Looks like it's a rough start to what used to be a great mochinut store to go to. And she would have had made a long time customer had she trusted me, the card I brought in, and honored it. Today, I'm leaving with kind of a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't even taken a bite of anything yet. Hopefully the food tastes better than the service. read more

The store was deathly quiet, walls have scuff marks... no ambiance, no music... I'm not familiar with this chain, maybe it's meant to be this way but got what I thought would be a cute shop lacked all personality. It was middle on open hours and I was the only customer, there was no greeting, no offer to assist, no engagement. Just a box slid across the counter as the girl mumbled that my corndog was coming. My favorite part about this branch is their unique offerings- from Indian fusion paneer tikka dogs (which accommodates vegetarians and introduces a new culture into the mix) to themed donuts on special days (like baseball color themed donuts, cherry blossom themed donuts during full bloom season or tie-dye donuts for the Holi festival), this branch specializes in a variety of creative ideas! Mochinut is different from the classic donut because it is a fusion between the famous Japanese mochi and a regular donut, yielding a chewier texture. I personally really enjoy this style of donut, especially from here, since it isn't too sweet and it's also really fun to pull apart the donut one segment at a time (like little donut holes - does anyone else do this?) During my visit, there was high donut turnover so I got a freshly made batch of 6 donuts in order of preference: Homer Simpson, Blueberry Bae, Chocolate churro, Blackberry funnel cake (yummy but couldn't taste blackberry at all), cookies and cream (flavor wasn't strong enough for me- may have to be a chocolate base for me to be convinced), matcha (tasted too earthy for me, but I am also quite picky with my matcha!) I also tried the paneer tikka dog, which was great, but I also wished there was even MORE spice/masala flavor on it- it would be a great choice for folks with a lower spice tolerance though! Lastly, I tried their other specialty called the Boba Delight! This is essentially a mochinut boba soft serve sundae that surprisingly worked. A teacher brought these donuts into the staff room today, and I was so excited to try two pieces!! The matcha tea one was very tasty (I am a huge green tea fan) and the chocolate one with rice crisps on top was good, too. These are a bit sweeter than I had expected, but probably ok for an occasional treat. I like the light and airy consistency of this dough versus a regular donut, but other people who like more traditional foods may think otherwise. My son I actually went there tonight to get some for our family and ended up trying some delectable pineapple vanilla soft serve ice cream and an all-beef rice dog as we waited to get some donuts to go. The people were extremely nice and friendly, and we were told everything is made fresh to order with natural ingredients. The tables, chairs, and cute decorations were also fun to look at. We ordered a blackberry, churro, fruity pebbles and strawberry flavored donut and all were great, not too sweet, with that wonderful mochi texture and not too heavy. We tried Mochinut around when it opened and it was good. I had never had a mochi donut prior to trying the donuts from here and I think I had set too high of expectations. They were tasty and had a nice texture but they weren't the best thing I've ever had either. I think I still prefer a regular donut over these. The star of the show for me was the corn dogs. I really wanted to fall in love with this place and leave a great review but I'm afraid it didn't quite meet my expectations. I think I hyped up too much for this. Let me start by saying the place is clean and has some cool interiors going on (instagramable). I ordered through the screen so didn't interact with staff aside from picking up the order. Being that the place serves mochi donuts, that's what I decided to try. I got a box of 3 regular mochinut, and 3 mini mochi balls. Everything looked good...nice packaging and all but it was the taste that didn't quite meet my expectations. I get that donuts are deep fried but the mini mochinut ball (which is not so mini) was waaaay too oily, at least for me and my husband. I appreciated the crunch when I first bit into it but the immediate overpowering oily-ness just killed it for me. Then I tried a bite of each of the mochinuts (matcha cranberry, caramel, and mocha). None were too good for me. I don't know what it is. I think the flavors weren't all that. Also, there wasn't a wide selection to choose from I think it was just 5 or 6 choices. What's better than a donut.. a Mochinut! Mochi like texture and is not too sweet! I'm glad they opened one in Bothell. They're different flavors every time I visit, and most aren't too sweet. They have Korean corn dogs, too, but honestly, I'm not a huge fan of it, not just this location but all. It tends to be a tad hard rather than crispy, so I stick with just the donuts. The service is nice, wait isn't too long for the food and smile when you walk in. The decor is cute, IG worthy wall and little stands for pictures. I'm more a savory person than sweets, so I love that their donuts and drinks, which are just the perfect amount of sweetness. read more
