A1 Donut is a great classic neighborhood donut shop pumping out yeast donuts that are light and fluffy and cake donuts that are spongy and soft, albeit without any crust. The donuts that have icing and/or glaze aren't cloyingly sweet, which is a problem that I find plagues a lot of donut shops. These, instead, are sweet, but pleasantly so for a sweet dessert. In all cases, the icing/glaze adheres well to the donut without flaking off. Prices are also very reasonable for the area. $2.25 each for the regular donuts. And for TGTG users, they give a big box of end-of-day donuts. In my case, 10 assorted donuts + 6 donut holes for $6.99. That's a value that's tough to beat. Let's be honest, A1 Donut is probably using the same bulk donut mixes that everyone else uses. What differentiates donut shops is execution, service, and price. A family member claimed this was the best northend doughnut shop, so A1 Donut had been bookmarked forever. I had the opportunity coming from Marysville for a first visit (12/5/24) to pick up a spontaneous Too Good To Go order. I figured it would be a few items in a bag. You can imagine my surprise to be handed a huge box by the upbeat counter person. Photographed the contents back in the car...wow quite the generous variety! Made it to A1 Donut before they closed. It's in a random plaza next to Pasteur's Noodle Soup. We dropped in on a Friday afternoon (3:45pm). Surprisingly, a few donuts were still available. Donuts are $2.25 USD (regular), $2.75 USD (specialty) or $4.00 USD (deluxe). - 1/2 dozen regular ($12.50 USD) - two apple fritters, pistachio peanut cake, glazed & maple old fashion and buttermilk bar. Just an excellent donut shop in Everett. The employees are nice, the prices are good, and the donuts are extremely tasty. What more could you ask for? In long They're right next to one of the best pho places around up here, and at first it was hard to believe there was yet another doughnut shop with such sparkling ratings and reviews. 10-15 years ago it seemed like you were lucky to have one that was on your way to anything, so if it was your turn to bring doughnuts to anything, you might have to go out of your way. Now it's popping like every other type of food up here. So these folks have started dominating search results in the last few months, hovering around 5 stars on multiple platforms. We virtually never buy doughnuts for ourselves, but my sister and her beau are in town this weekend, and our mom LOVED apple fritters, especially later in life. We honor relatives by planning menus around their favorite foods, so this gave us all an excuse to try a new joint. We got apple fritters, a glazed, and an ube, which I was not expecting to find on any doughnut menu. They threw in an extra glazed and some doughnut holes just because they're awesome. Everything is soft and chewy, and sugary sweet without being overbearing. The fritters have a little crisp edge here and there with a nice chew inside. Everything is designed and cooked really well, with familiar comforts in all of them, plus some new creative touches that we haven't all had our whole lives. I was so impressed by this donut shop! Tucked away in a strip mall in Everett, you'd never assume these are some of the best donuts in the area. My partner and I have been on the hunt for soft, springy, yeast raised donuts and this place has them. We paid about $30 for a dozen, so they're not cheap but well worth it. We got a variety of classic donuts and some of their specialty like fruity pebbles, pistachio coconut, and a blueberry fritter! The shop itself is beautiful and clean, they have a really cute photo wall. We went around noon on a Friday and there was more than enough to choose from. The service friendly and quick. We came on a weekend afternoon to try their brioche donuts. 6 different flavors - Matcha, Strawberry, Mango, Biscoff, Chocolate, and Taro. We got 1 of each: the owner was kind & gave us two free. I was in desperate need for a donut, and A1 was the only donut place delivering to me at 3:40 pm on a Thursday, and boy did I luck out! I ordered a half dozen regular donuts but I received NINE DONUTS , and I think some of the flavors I got are their premium donuts too! I know I probably ordered towards the end of their day, but it's still so nice to receive extra donuts!! My son and I love to go on food adventures and our latest quest has us visiting donut shops! We typically stick with the classics as to judge each establishment fairly. We both gave A1 5 stars! This is my husband and I's favorite donut shop! They special in a "deluxe" donut which has flavored cream inside. The flavors to choose from are strawberry, matcha, Nutella, biscoff, taro/ube, and mango. I've tried the Nutella, biscoff, mango, and matcha and enjoyed all of them!
