I have a crazy, soft spot deep in my heart for good burritos. It reminds me of college - I went to school in San Diego and burritos were everywhere. In Seattle, there aren't many places that scratch my burrito itch. The Vet Chef is one of them. They have their own thing going on, but they do it right - the tortilla, meat, seasonings, potatoes, crema - so simple, so good. I don't think it's fair to compare this to San Diego burritos. It's just different. In SD, the burritos were usually insanely greasy and heavy - a california burrito might have meat, potatoes, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo or a crazy rich carniceria-style salsa. Anyway, the California Burrito was universally acclaimed by the two other coworkers I brought here to try it out in Bellevue. So, it's not just me and my burrito-loving-ness. If you're into REALLY HOT stuff, the orange-colored salsa/sauce stuff was killer. The price was in line with what I spend on lunch in Bellevue any day - and in line with most other food trucks. I think it was like $11. They accepted cards - visa, mastercard, amex, etc.

So cal burrito #1 on the menu

Omg I am so I love with this food truck, not only is a veteran from the Marines run the business, it's a husband and wife team. The food is amazing and you get your fill of so cal burrito (carne asada burrito stuff with FRIES). Stop by and try it for yourself, you won't be sorry!

What a great truck! The food is delicious, and the owner has a great attitude. Try the cubano burrito - the best.

Total disappointment, our burrito was 7/8 French fries and a barely any steak. Felt ripped off and disappointed.

Good food, friendly service. I highly recommend you check them out. How can you go wrong with fries on a burrito!

Mexican food in the states is hardly ever what it is in Mexico but this comes close. The food is SO good. From the birria tacos to the tex mex options, it's all incredibly good. The service here is slow and has been pretty slow every time I have come in. I found myself getting a bit frustrated last time I came in. But the servers are kind, friendly, and you can tell they care about their customers. If you're in a time crunch maybe pick somewhere else. But I would take the time and try this place out!

They do not hold back on rice and beans either. The chips come out hot, they use sustainable packaging, and it's super easy to call an order in. My shrimp enchiladas were amazing, and the server who helped me out was super kind and prompt in getting our order, even on a busy night. I will say- the margaritas at the restaurant are amazing, but we did not love the takeout margaritas. Maybe drinking it out of a big glass makes all the difference, who knows. Will continue to eat here for the fresh food, huge portions, and kind staff! Hoping to go have a meal in and experience their amazing happy hour again soon.

We went while they were serving breakfast/brunch/lunch and they have a fun selection of American and Mexican breakfast favorites. Started off with free chips, salsa and beans which is rare these days. The salsa and beans together were delicious. For our main course. we went with the chilaquiles and the chicken taquitos. The chilaquiles came in verde sauce and were huge and nicely crispy with onions and cojita and a big side of beans and eggs. Taquitos seemed freshly made and were also crunchy with a satisfying amount of chicken. We also got a house margarita and a sangria - both were fine but definitely from a mix so a bit too sweet. Would probably spend a bit more and order something different next time. Service was friendly and quick and there was a ton of space in the restaurant.

I ordered the Carne Asada. While the meat was a bit dry, the rice and beans were decent and complemented the meal well. Overall, it was a decent meal, but nothing really stood out. I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back, though I had a perfectly fine experience overall.
