An ok burger. It's made from a frozen hamburger patty, so hum. Not rich but greasy if that is what you are looking for.

Food is good and the people are nice. I wont give them a higher rating because they are closed 3 days a week, have limited hours and they also close up all winter and most of fall and spring as well. I'm posting this review mostly for my husband who loves this place, he just wishes it were open more days and longer hours! He loves the bacon-burger, juicy not greasy and the home made potato chips. They come highly recommended by locals, and I can see why. I ordered their bacon and bleu cheese burger and they more than live up to the reputation they've built for themselves. All burgers come with delicious salt and pepper chips. As if the food weren't enough, Heather is also a delight. Well, it is October 14 and they have been closed a day and will not be open until around April. I'll miss the fresh Greek burgers but I bought a dozen for the freezer. They freeze well without the tomatoes. During Bubba season I am a regular and have been since they opened. Always great food plus Heather and the crew are pure fun. Most of the time there is a line and wait, but usually fun to chat with those waiting, the majority of whom are repeat customers. See you on opening day! read more

Stopped here for lunch today and boy am I glad I did. I had been craving fish 'n chips and theirs was exceptional. The fish was great and chips were unique, sort of like slightly thick potato chips but much tastier. The roadside food trailer preparing the meals is also unique but some of the best food comes from food trucks and trailers also, apparently. Hands down, best burger on Whidbey! We love this place and they are amazing as they have a Gluten Free bun option! My wife and I had the Inferno burger and the burger was cooked perfectly and it was on the most amazing Gluten Free bun as most GF buns are small, lacking in taste and tend to crumble easily...not this bad boy, its soft, covers the entire burger and has such a great taste. I try to swing by bubba burgers when possible. I like their differnt choices of burgers. I ate the heart attack one time and had ro take a food coma nap after wprds. The potata chips are excellent. My favorite item on their menu is the friday special of fish tacos. I know tacos at a burger place is weird but they are my favorite fish taco around, made with fresh pico de gallo and always order extra jalapeños. read more

I lived on the island 4/8 years I've tried Bubba burger 5x and still not a fantastic burger I think some of these Islanders don't get off the island enough to know what a good burger is about. They must see me coming and put Visine or something on my burger because I always spend the rest of the day in the bathroom who wants that. It tastes okay but definitely not fantastic or great for being flame-broiled I'd rather gone to Burger King. They have a much better flavor also when I want a hamburger I want traditional French fries not potato chips that I can buy it from a store these were soggy and not very tasty. I just assumed they lower the price and make it so you could not have Fry's if you choose not to or chips as they call them. Needless to say it's my own fault that I kept trying and trying and trying them thinking that everybody was maybe tasting something that I didn't but I can definitely say I'm not going to be back. I'd recommend taking the drive to Oak Harbor Island cafe there is a real burger that looks beautiful and tasty picture perfect not soggy or a bun that falls apart when you trying to eat the burger as much as I like the idea of supporting local business I can't do it anymore sorry Bubba burger you're no longer on my list if you ever were read more

stumbled upon this great place while on a weekend drive up the island. what a find! saw a bright red and yellow food truck in a parking lot surrounded by picnic tables and a handful of cars. homemade and messy flame broiled burgers were awesome! and the potato chips that come with them were unexpectedly delish. right off hwy 20 in the town of Freeland. worth the ferry ride from Mukilteo.
