What a wonderful experience all around! Came out on Friday around noon. Really cute and welcoming place. Owner was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed chatting with him. Great service and the food was terrific. My husband and I wanted to try a few different dogs since we're from out of town. We shared the frito bandido, the Thai peanut and the Anacortes dogs. They were all incredibly tasty!

My AnnaCortes Dog on the patio, with a great view of the harbor ( I wanted shade so I wasn't looking at the harbor).

I was in town for the Anacortes Waterfront/Art Festival (well worth it!) I parked by the harbor and saw Dockside Dogs and thought I'd give it a try. They have a simple dog or specialty ones. I chose the Anacortes Dog because it sounded tasty and unique (with grilled Walla Walla onions, bacon and seasoned cream cheese and sauce.) It didn't need to add anything to it, per the owner's suggestion. It didn't disappoint, it was full of flavor and a nice surprising crunch of the bacon. The owner was very friendly and gave great service. They have a small indoor space to sit but it was full. I chose to sit in a shaded area on the patio with a great view. It was a little pricey but what isn't nowadays. I will definitely return!

Anacortes Dog and a cup of chowder

Went by here today for lunch. We have driven by so many times but finally stopped. We didn't know what we were getting into so we decided to split a Anacortes dog and a cup of Ivars chowder. The chowder was great as it always is but that Anacortes dog was the stuff hotdog dreams are made of. The gentleman working was helpful and friendly and being able to sit outside on a beautiful day made the meal perfect. We will absolutely be back

The best gluten free hot dog bun I've ever had! Friendly service and very good food. Excited to go back and try their other hotdogs

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Amazing taste! Amazing Service! Amazing experience! I'm not a huge fan of all beef hotdogs but the dog named Ruben changed my mind. The balance of the sauerkraut and the thousand island was delicious. The bun was nice and soft and tasty. No better hot dog on the island. The hot dog stand was also cool and unique with a classic car as their company vehicle. *only reason for the 4/5 ambiance is because it's at a food truck park and not technically "fine dining". But the food was fine. Great job

Naked Dockside Dogs dog with ghost pepper mustard and onions and a bowl of steakhouse chili
    Robert M.

Very nice "micro-cafe" serving tasty hotdogs 7 different ways with 6 or 7 flavors of mustard. The mustard selections include classic yellow, spicy brown, jalapeño mustard, and GHOST PEPPER mustard!! I chose to order a "Naked Dog" so I could get the taste of the dog. It wasn't until after I ordered that I noticed the wide selection of mustards available. I can't resist spicy foods, so I decided to try the Beaver brand Ghost Pepper Mustard on my dog. Although I enjoy spicy foods, I haven't experienced Ghost Pepper more than once or twice. This mustard was very spicy, but wasn't too spicy, for me. People that aren't used to spicy foods might not be able to handle it. The dog was served on a French bread style bun and with some chopped onions. The onions are optional, so if you don't care for onions just ask for no onions. I thought the dog was just the right size and nicely cooked. It wasn't "crisp" but it also wasn't cooked to mush. I would compare the size to a ballpark dog. I also opted to try the steakhouse chili. I asked for shredded cheese and chopped onions on top. The chili had ground beef, I was hoping for bite-sized chunks of steak. Oh well, it was still a nice cup of chili. The Owner/Cook/Server was very pleasant, polite, and friendly. If you are in the Anacortes area and have a hankering for a dog, definitely stop by Dockside Dogs located at the corner of 11th St and Q Ave.

    Thai Peanut Hot Dog

We stopped here after a whale watching trip and were pleasantly surprised. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the owner is so kind and all of the food was amazing. Our group ordered four different kinds of hot dogs and we were all very happy with them. The Thai peanut one was unique and delicious!

    Frito bandito
    Gabby K.

Cute little hot dog place. We ordered a mess of a chili dog, the frito bandito. It was pretty good. It's either a fork and knife situation, or make sure you have a lot of napkins. We got a bag of chips and can of soda to go with it and it was about $10 and change. Small area to order and grab condiments and some outdoor and indoor seating.

Veggie dog is vegan friendly. Staff is super friendly. Getting the strawberry lemonade made me more friendly. The ghost pepper mustard will burn your mouth off if you add it carelessly like I did. Solid snack stop.

Don't worry! They have inside seating. Three tables and an electronic fireplace inside and two tables outside!

With a little time on our hands we drive into Anacortes since we've never really been there, only passing through to catch the ferry. Realizing it's the 4th, we happen to catch the tail end of the Anacortes 4th of July Parade. At this point it's around if not after lunch time. Well with crowds and traffic we go on a walk-about in search of food and not more than a klick from our position we find this nice little lot by the marina with some food trailers. Choices, choices, choices, those being Chinese food, BBQ and Gourmet Hot Dogs. First choice was the dogs, but the line was a little long for us. So we went with BBQ...again glad we did. It was a bit of wait, since it had just opened not to long ago, some folks already waiting and one person doing food prep, cooking, taking orders and running the till, he mentioned waiting for someone else so help was on the way, but he did great, and the wait wasn't that bad. So for lunch we had one beef brisket sammy, two pulled pork sammys, one topped with coleslaw and with other with mac-n-cheese and beans on the side. First the sides, both probably one of the best I've had, no seriously. I'm not a real big mac-n-cheese guy, but this one was damn tasty. I love that I could tasted the cheese and it was not weak in flavor. I thought it was as good as if not better than that one Pike Place Mac-n-Cheese place. Then there was the beans, OMG, those baked beans were no joke...awesome! I so wished I'd gotten more of that. Then the sammys: The brisket was so tender, so juicy with some excellent flavor. Not smothered in BBQ sauce, it was just the perfect amount and tasted so good! The pulled pork sammys were excellent, lotsa pork with the perfect amount of sauce so they complimented each other flavor-wise so it's not all BBQ sauce you taste. Bottom line, some DAMN GOOD BBQ! Some restaurant's idea of BBQ is to take meat and cover/drown it in sauce-ugh. i.e. Applebee's bottomless riblets (only thing going for it is that it is bottomless-but it's nothing more than BBQ sauce with meat texture....I digress). Anyhow, the next time we are passing through, this definitely will be a stop. Surprised not to find it on YELP so I had to add it myself. It was that good! Now hopefully you can support a local small business and get some excellent BBQ too!

Great food, great people. Thanks me back to the hood of my youth…read more If you're looking for southern soul, this is da place. I'll be back.

Unfortunately, it fell a little short. that wood smell really didn't translate into the flavor of the meat. Looking at the menu, I always want to go to some 2 or 3 meat combo so I can taste all the good options. Unfortunately, that option didnt exist. So the wife and I were going to go with three meals. With 3 meals @ $20 a pop, I was expecting to bring some home, but that wasn't the case. Went up to the counter where you need to oder, and got brisket with bbq beans, pulled pork with Mac salad, and rib....wait what's this...pork belly rib for $12.50....yea please let's go with that instead of the ribs. Getting the pork belly was the best decision we made. In fact if I ordered right now again I would order 3 orders of pork belly and nothing else. Yes, part of the reason is that the pork belly was good (reason for 3 instead of 1 or 2 stars). The other reason is that the other food was not all that great. The brisket was a little dry, I have had a lot worse, but for some fatty cuts, it shouldn't have been as dry as it was. My wife loves pulled pork, but she didn't really eat much of this one. It was moist, but artificially so....to the extreme...it wasn't the nature juices and maybe that dilluted the smoke flavor. It was like mush. The sides? Well go to any store deli and you will know what they taste like...sure seems these came out of those big plastic tubs.

They have a lot of different drinks to choose from and while they have a symbol on the menu to represent drinks that can be made hot, a symbol to let people know which drinks are or can be made caffeine free would be nice. We did get good recommendations on what to get by the nice person at the counter though for non-caffeinated beverages. You can order a la carte or get the special which includes a bubble tea and a choice of hot dog. We opted for the combo and I tried out the house milk tea with boba/tapioca. I requested it at 25% sweetness which was just right for me when combined with the syrupy boba. I loved that they use more sustainable packaging such as paper cups and straws. The heat sealed lids on top of the cups make for a better drinking experience since it's harder for you to spill your drink. The hot dogs were equally tasty. The toppings on our dogs were plentiful, very pleasing to the eye, and I loved the Asian flavors such as kimchi and furikake on ours. The hot dogs themselves were cooked to perfection and perfectly plump with a nice bite to them. Service was super friendly from the employees. The only minor inconvenience is that there are no public restrooms available but luckily we were able to find a restroom at our next destination in the area.
