I've driven past this place so many times and I finally tried it today.... I love to speak to my waiters and joke with them so they feel comfortable I guess wrong on my part the guy that was waiting us didn't care for it so I left it alone. We ordered some drinks and he walked away so fast we didn't even get to order an appetizer. We were told it was happy hour and that the drinks would be $5 I look at the happy hour menu and it says it's $6 okay no biggie. We ordered margaritas idk what the bartender made but it Def wasn't a margarita I asked if we could try something else since the drinks tasted off. The bartender made the drinks and then I saw them sit there and the waiter walk past them at least 3 times. I almost went and got them myself, he came with the food so we were happy and then brought the drinks. Tried the new drinks and they also didn't taste like what it was supposed to be, at this point I gave up on having an alcoholic beverage. I'm giving two stars because the food wasn't bad it was pretty good. I really wanted to like this place but the service was really slow, it took the waiter 30 minutes from the time we asked for the check til we had are card back so we could leave. Given that he had to fix our check to take my drink off I still don't think it should have taken that long for us to pay and get out of there. Don't think I'll be returning. read more

Had the breakfast burger and was super disappointed when the egg was overdone . I also payed extra money to try the sweet potato fries and they brought out regular fries. It was mid week at 7 p.m. and wasn't very busy and our food took 25 minutes to come out, so I wasn't about to wait longer to get the right fries. Well the name is accurate at least. If youre expecting a good burger, this concept is just a theory. To top it off they charged $15 for the most underwhelming burger of my life. If you're staying at the Holiday Inn and feel pressured to eat at Burger Theory, take an Uber to In-N-Out and have a better burger for $2.50. Good food. I love the happy hour deals, and the Asian Salad is super yummy. No complaints about that at all. By the ambience is kinda drab. I've been in three times. Once when they 1st opened and 2 times since ... All 3 times there wasn't any background music. And there are TV's all around but no sound. Just kinda sat there waiting for something to happen. But I just ate my food & left.. I'd be tempted to order takeout every once in a great while because it's close to home , but most likely won't be back. read more

I remember when I first saw Burger Theory on the corner of McDowell and 44th st. My boyfriend and his sister told me that they had checked it out and their burgers were amazing. I recently quit eating meat so never really gave the restaurant a second thought until this past Sunday. My boyfriend loves burgers and its literally 2 minutes from our house so after a long and chaotic weekend with a 7 kid sleepover, he and I went to dinner there. We sat at the bar top and I cant remember what the bartenders name was but he was awesome. Dark hair, very thin, not very tall, I think he wore glasses but I cant remember. But he was awesome. Very accommodating and efficient. I work in the restaurant industry so I keep my eyes open for stuff like that. I had a veggie burger with boursin cheese (first time trying boursin cheese) and it was amazing. Onion rings were huge and crispy. Everything was fresh and made to order. The ingredients tasted authentic versus manufactured. I cant wait to go try their deserts! read more

My work-group visited Burger Theory for the first time. We INSTANTLY loved Kari as she made the entire experience so WONDERFUL. I LOVED the burger. You can taste the quality in the food unlike the "cardboard" texture we see in other places we visit. The burger was an appropriate size, which for some people it may "seem" average. However, the taste of the burger with the toppings and flavorings reminded me how wonderful this experience was. I will definitely return! read more

So I tried this place after reading that their burgers are made with Angie chuck, short ribs, and brisket. The restaurant is a part of a Holiday Inn, but I saw them on ABC 15 news and decided to give them a try. I was there around 7pm and not a lot of people there, maybe 5 or 6 tables and 2 at the bar. I ordered the firecracker shrimp and liked it. Sauce was a little heavy though. I tried the Farm Fresh burger with mayo on the side. Liked it. I met my wife at Burger Theory yesterday for lunch expecting a mouth watering delicious burger...... what a disappointment. The restaurant was not busy at all, and it took 25 minutes to get our burgers. Then after specifically telling the server that I did not want a pickle anywhere near my plate, ugh.... pickle spear with its juice running into my onion rings. He did bring me a new order of onion rings, but I think they were ones sitting in the back, since the first order was hot and fresh and the replacement cold and soft ish. My wife ordered her burger medium and hers was medium well, I ordered medium rare and it was close, but a bit underdone and the meat was cold. I assume they took mine off earlier than hers and just let it sit. I expected a lot more than two mediocre burgers (one with fries and the other with onion rings) a water, and an ice tea for $35.00. My friend and I went here because it looked like a cool place to go sit eat and drink. As we walked in there was signage that read "daily special burger and a beer $12". Keep in mind that its 3:30 in the afternoon. When our server came to greet us we told him we'd both have the daily special. He then told us that it was yesterdays special, but since the sign was up he was going to talk to the manager. He came back about three minutes later to tell us that they couldnt honor the special because it was "yesterdays special". False advertisement? If the manger would have come to our table to explain or if they would have taken down the sign right there and then I wouldn't have been so upset. I was excited to try this place, and it was okay. Not great, but just okay. You can definitely get a better burger at Applebee's. What inspired me to leave a review was that while this place is just "meh, okay," it is OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. I ordered lunch for four: one chopped salad with shrimp (which ended up being a regular garden salad with 3 medium-sized shrimp on top), 2 single BYOBs with bacon & cheese and a double burger with no extras (all 3 with onion rings, which you only get about 3 or 4 rings with each order) and my total for everything was $67 and change. This was take-out, so I can't comment on the service, but I will tell you that if they had given me the order total when I'd called it in, I would NOT have ordered from here. There is also no pricing anywhere on the website to reference. I feel for the employees because it is appears the business is poorly run on a higher level & very unorganized. When I arrived to pick up my order, their credit card terminals were down & they couldn't run my card for payment and the manager, not knowing what else to do, took my phone number & said he would call me to take my payment over the phone once their terminals were back online. Up to this point I was still not provided with a receipt or total for my order. It wasn't until an hour or so later when someone (not the manager) called to take my payment info that I was told how much everything had cost. Not cool. read more
