One star feels generous. Arrived at the restaurant, and waiters walked right by without saying anything, so we seated ourselves. Eventually they came to clear the table from the last customers, and still said nothing to us. After 10 or so minutes the waiter walked by and realized they hadn't given us menus. When we finally did get a menu and order, our waters were never brought to the table. Food took so long to come out, and was not seasoned at all. I have never had such bad fries in my life, so imagine the surprise when the bill said they cost $4?! This was not disclosed on the menu. So disappointed in the food. Twenty dollars for an average burger with questionable cheese and fries I could not finish is too much. Poor service and poor food is a pattern, I will not be returning again. read more

Total dive bar vibe. But we came for the burger and it didn't disappoint. This was probably my favorite smash burger in the cities. Definitely worth a stop if you don't mind the setting. The food is here is not what a typical dive bar would ever offer. I find myself wanting to go back for that burger! read more

A new burger joint has moved into the West 7th neighborhood--where you already can throw a rock in any direction and hit a great burger joint. Why not add one more, right!? Bay Street Burger Dive has moved into the old Bay Street Grill and Pub location. Now I know this is a very proud neighborhood and many aren't accustomed to change, but I was welcomed into this gem of a neighborhood over 3 years ago so I welcome others as well. Anyone who has tried these great burgers at their Pot Luck location or during their run at the back of Tony Jaros River Garden knows how quickly one needs to put them on their list. I enjoyed the House Burger with 2 juicy smash patties, white American cheese, minced onion, and pickles. You can't go wrong. It's definitely worthy of this neighborhoods burger reputation. read more

Their House Burger is a solid burger. Double patties with a hard sear, really locks in the juices. I think that the meat blend for the burger was delious and beefy. The patty was not tight and compact like some burgers are, but was looser and provided a great mouthfeel for a burger. They give three generously sliced pickles on top of melty cheese. Maybe I just like a good ol special sauce on my burger, but do wish that there was some kind extra sauce that I could have put on the burger. But I will admit that the beef patties do speak for themselves. For a takeout burger, overall it was great and I would be more than happy to try their other burgers! read more

We ran across this little restaurant/bar and didn't know what to expect with a name like a burger dive.... It was definitely worth eating here. They offer breakfast until 5 PM and their burgers are absolutely amazing. There is nothing that I like more in this world than an English muffin with melted peanut butter and jelly. They took it to the next level and added a burger in it and it is to die for. The french fries were also cooked perfectly. I would definitely order this burger again and would love to try the other burgers that they offer, due to the very positive experience I had visiting here. read more

Really enjoyed our weeknight meal out on the patio! And they are dog friendly!! The servers were very attentive and friendly. Good cocktail, beer, and wine list. Decent burger selection and my husband enjoyed the wedge burger. I had the lobster roll, which was an unexpected find at a burger place. It was very tasty!! The sauce is light and refreshing. Sandwiches/burgers come with a bag of chips but I recommend upgrading to the fries. Definitely check this place out! read more

So, I never got Burger Dive when it was BLOCKS from my house and now that I've tried it - I have so many regrets! We got the nacho burger and the October Special (burger, fries and a drink)! They were delicious! Even with my 30 minutes drive home. The nacho burger was good, wasn't spicy at all - could be Spicer, great buns and wasn't soggy! The beef was also done very well! The house burger was great as well! Fries never travel well, so they were not crispy but we're still really tasty! I was impressed with their precautions even with pick up, they have you sign in with your name and number! read more

YELPSPECIAL. Monthly dive burger special. October burger special. The burgers onions were spectacular. For a dive bar it has everything you could need or hope for. The burger was prime with housemate pickles The fries could have been a little crisper only reason I give 4. read more

Was visiting from California and I can truly say, this was one of the best burgers I've ever had. Definitely made my list of top 5! They give you 2 meat patty's and the size of the burger was perfect. I ordered the wedge burger and we shared a basket of fries. Their fries were also delicious. If I lived in MN, I'd be here all the time! read more

This place is a hidden gem! Their name says it all, they have very tasty smash burgers in an older dive bar. Don't let the "dive" deter you though because they have a delicious menu and great cocktails! I was lucky enough to snag their lavender martini before they ran out - which was unfortunate because I would have ordered another one or two! Our group shared the fried mushrooms - which I have to say were the BEST I've ever had...they were fancy mushrooms with a very light breading. Definitely recommend! We came on a Saturday night which happened to be karaoke and was quite entertaining! We sat in the large round booth by the restrooms so had great seats for the "show" lol. You can tell this place has some great cooks because everything has something special about it...my favorite were the homemade pickles that came on my burger - I was obsessed lol (our cool waiter even let me purchase a container to take home!) Also a bonus - they have a pull tab booth for your entertainment! As a WI visitor we had a GREAT time here! read more

Stopped in here to get some takeout for lunch: a burger for my husband, breakfast burrito for me, and chocolate chip pancakes for my kids. All the food was great. I was genuinely impressed by the burger - it's a similar style to Parlour Bar's burger (my absolute favorite) with the ultra thin juicy patties, tons of white American, and an extra-delicious pickle and bun to take it over the top. The chocolate chip pancakes were a hit with the kids (and the bites I snuck made me agree). The breakfast burrito was delicious too - plenty of chorizo and eggs. And the hash browns and black beans, usually not something I like in a breakfast burrito, worked. Great salsa too - very fresh. I'd easily get the entire order again. The bartender who brought my order out to me was so nice, and even offered me some water while I waited for the food. The reason for detracting one star is because that same super nice bartender also kept pulling his mask on and off, constantly, even while bagging my food. And didn't clean his hands after touching it. He didn't touch the actual food, so I still ate it and tbh didn't worry too much. I'm a medical professional so I recognize that was pretty low risk. But as a reminder to everyone - we're in the middle of a pandemic - leave your mask on your face. If you have to touch your mask, assume your hands are now dirty and please sanitize them. Thank you! But I do commend Burger Dive for making hand sanitizer easily accessible, placing plexiglass between booths and even between sections around the bar, having a sign in sheet for those dining in with sanitized pens, masks available, etc. They thought of everything. read more

I'm on a quest for the most amazing club sandwich, so I of course got the turkey club at Burger Dive. It's up there in my rankings--it's just a really good, classic club. My only problem is that the burgers come with chips by default and you have to get a side of fries. Just let the fries come with the burgers/sandwiches! read more

The staff is very friendly, it's a great space and a great take on a dive bar. The food was fast, their onion rings were amazing and the burger was great. More of a bar joint with the classic fits for food, burgers, hot sandwiches, wings, apps, etc., but a fun interior and quirky look. read more

I was craving a good burger so I jumped on Yelp! I found this joint and I'm sure glad I did! My hubby & I grabbed burgers, he got the House and I got the Wedge and we shared some fries. So frickin' good. My burger was like a wedge salad on a bun with a burger. I had a bite of my hubby's burger and it was delish, too! Our server was the bartender and he was super friendly. A+ service. We'll definitely be back! read more

Really enjoyed their food burger melt was delicious! It's a nice hole in the wall! Cooks know what they are doing!

Cheeseburgers are my favorite food, and let me tell you , Burger Dive kills it. Wow. There is just something about a "bar" burger that can't be beat but Burger Dive even takes it up a notch. I'm not sure what they do that is so magical, but I will just keep giving them my money and not ask questions. I recently ordered just the classic House Burger. I like to stick to the basics sometimes. The burger comes with cheese, diced onions and pickles. The cheese is gooey. The onions are flavorful. And the pickles I assume are house made and delicious. I just threw some ketchup on there and was in burger heaven. Juicy, flavorful, crispy buttered bun. It doesn't get much better. The burger also comes with a side of chips. You can upgrade to fries or what not, but I sometimes appreciate some really good chips with a burger. In accordance with their name, they do offer a variety of burgers. I bet they are all equally amazing. They do take out or dine in to make it extra convenient for everyone. If you're looking for a damn good burger in the cities, you can't go wrong at Burger Dive. read more

The burger is everything they say it is. I love that you can get it for breakfast as well. It's salted just right, thin dill pickles, not stingy about it either, and finely diced onions. It's just perfection. I was there about 9:45 on a Sunday. The place was very busy with some on the patio. The poor bartender had to deal with all of it because the next server didn't come until 10. On a weekend it really should be an hour earlier. Quarantine is done so how about menus on the table to save some time. I was told the pancakes are scratch made so I'll definitely be getting them. This area needed a great burger joint, especially these hours. The picture of the interior must have been that bright Halloween theme, cause the lights were low and it's just gray all around. Molly was my excellent server, service was as fast as could be expected. This burger you'll wait for anyway. read more

Very good burger but nothing I'd crave on regular (like the nook). That said, the house made pickles are so Fing delicious and you can buy a small container to bring home so I'll definitely be back for the pickles read more

I got great service for a take out order of an Onion Burger. I enjoy onions and liked the idea of getting a burger with plenty of onion and not having to ask for more. There was a variety of onions, cooked and raw, held together with some cheese. We've been by here a hundred times but this is our first stop. They threw in a single size sack of Old Dutch potato chips, which I enjoyed but would rather have some fries. Next time I'll ask. The burger travelled well for the 15 minutes trip home. I enjoyed. The place is a fairly typical looking dive bar, friendly and well lit. read more

The food is excellent. An amazing char on the burger. It is delicious. The service is very friendly. They treated me like family.

Came here for lunch and it was a great little neighborhood spot. Everyone was very friendly (staff and other patrons). It had a very laid-back vibe. I took a chance and ordered the lobster roll. It was amazing! The lobster was cooked perfectly. My friend originally ordered a burger, but found out they didn't cook to temp (rare, medium rare, etc) so changed her order to an ham and cheese omelet, which she said was very good. The drinks were also good, heavy pour which was nice. I'd definitely come back again. read more

Great food and service! We stopped here because we were in the area and in the mood to try a new place - and we're already planning our next meal here! We ordered a giant pretzel that came a cheese sauce and mustard. The pretzel was perfect, the distinct pretzel flavor and "crust" and soft, chewy inside. The cheese sauce was good too! For dinner we had the original, wedge, and nacho burgers. All were amazing and exactly what you want in a good burger! We had a side of fries and onion rings - also very good! We looked at the breakfast menu and will try to go back for a few of those items! Try this place out - it's great!! read more

Oh my god this wedge burger is smoking crack it is so dang good I can't stop eating it

Okay, just yummm. I have literally not eaten a burger in over a year and I am so glad that I broke down and ate one here. I had the onion burger which was just layer upon layer of oniony goodness - cheddar, raw red onion, onion dip, onion straws, and onion jam, all atop a generous, well-seasoned and properly cooked, juicy burger patty. My companion tried the wedge burger and reported that it was equally delicious. We split an order of the onion rings Andorra the fried mushrooms. Both were coated with a beautiful, light, crisp, tempura like crust. The mushrooms come with a jalapeño dipping sauce and a ranch sauce - again simply marvelous. The rings come with a Chipotle aioli which has a nice kick to it. This was so much food that we could finish neither our burgers nor the sides. Both were excellent heated back up for supper the next day. Thanks to the waitress for suggesting heating in the oven on a cast iron. Staff was friendly and also conscientious about masking and asking customers moving through the space to mask. In addition, they have added transparent partitions around booths for extra protection. This is a definite go back when we are looking for burgers. read more

Nice seasoning on the fries and chicken. They were also polite and very time efficient. The inside was very clean and had a nice aroma.

I originally tried Burger Dive for a Yelp event and I've found myself going back a couple of times now when I'm craving a burger. I love the different varieties of burgers they have and they also have a vegetarian options ( I do wish you could put a veggie patty on any burger when you order online). The tator tots are perfectly crisp and everything has been well prepared every time I order. They look like they have a killer breakfast that I can't wait to try. And they also have a good selection of bottled alcohol beverages if that's your thing. Also who doesn't love a dinner menu that includes pierogis. read more

Wow. New favorite burger place? Staff was extremely friendly, management personally greeted and welcomed us. Food was phenomenal. 5/5 The House Burger is perfection. Savory, cheesy, and everything you'd ever want in a classic burger. Our group was very impressed. Each burger came with ketchup and mustard packets on the side, along with a small bag of kettle chips. Fries were solid. Wings were huge and very good. But the true hero of the sides was the jalapeño cheese curds. Wow. They were a wonderful addition to our meal, and they came in a very generous portion for us to share. Welcome to the neighborhood! TLDR: Go. Great folks. Great food. Get the house burger. Get some jalapeños cheese curds. read more

Never having breakfast here again. Tried it a few months ago with the same result but thought we'd give it the benefit of the doubt. Nope. Just plain bad. We ordered eggs over medium and they were hardly flipped at all. Nasty slimy. I order over MEDIUM for a reason. The quantity is pretty slim too.
