Easily one of my top burger places in the Twin Cities... dare I say it may even be better than the famed P*rlour burger?! They have 2 locations, a dive bar spot in St Paul and an outpost at the food hall in Rosedale Center. I've eaten at both spots and received the same great quality food and service at both locations. The burgers are true smash burger style, crispy on the outside, nice and juicy within. The burger itself has so much flavor, but my favorite one is their onion burger, which takes the experience to the next level. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great burger in the twin cities! read more

Never disappoints! Smash burgers are amazing and I had a Cobb salad today and they make their blue cheese dressing in house! I would buy a bottle of that - better than any I've bought or had before! Funny you go to a bar and have a salad but it is always good and we love their breakfast as well! read more

Great burger made to order with tots, friendly service! Pull tabs, cold beer! Perfect clean spot,

Great food, lovely patio and good service. We have enjoyed ourselves several times and will go back soon!

Stopped in on a Thursday evening with co-workers and had a great meal out on the patio. I chose a beer I had never heard of before, added bacon to the House Burger and went for tots over fries. It was nothing fancy but was close to perfection. A good beer selection, great service, and one of the best burgers in the Twin Cities, add up to 5 stars for me. read more

I've been here a few times now. The burgers are legit and that onion burger? Wowza! Things all come with a bag of chips which I'd just as soon as be able to upgrade to fries vs also having a bag of chips but that's me. Like all burger places that are charging $10+ for a burger, it's gonna have to really, really, REALLY kick ass for a 5 star review but I'll give it 4 as it is definitely better then what Parlour serves up but for price, you have dive bars all over the place that aren't as much (The Frenchman in Richfield for example) that are just as good. But seriously, if you are a fan of onions, and yes I am. That thing is really good. A raw red onion that wasn't that strong in flavor (which is good) but which had a nice snap, fried onion fingerlings and onion jam. Damn. This thing had it all in flavor and texture and could be a 4.5 rating for sure. read more

Three of the four of us had a hankering for a burger, and so #4 went along and had a great time. We were fortunate to be seated right away, as it got busy after we arrived and folks were waiting. Service was good, attentive, and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, especially considering how busy they were. Vibe is very sports bar, but also neighborhood bar, with a pleasant sprinkle of dive bar. I had their classic burger, and it was very good, as were the fries and onion rings. I got the bottom of the keg of a hazy IPA so it was VERY hazy (not sure I would have served it myself) but as a beer nerd it was interesting to have it. Overall it was a solid experience, price was reasonable, and I would not mind visiting again! read more

We were excited to try this place on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends, especially after hearing so many good things about it. However, we were a bit let down when we found out the deep fryer was down, limiting our appetizer options. We tried ordering a pretzel instead, but our server informed us they were out of those as well. It felt like we chose the wrong day to visit. Still, we decided to make the most of it and ordered burgers, which were good, though it was a bit disappointing to have them with a side salad instead of fries. Despite these setbacks--and losing $80 on Pulltabs--we tried to enjoy our time there. Some might say it just wasn't our day. (On a normal working day I'm sure the review would be higher with fries/apps) read more

My experience at Burger Dive started off rough, the bartender on Friday night seemed cold and didn't greet me the entire time. She didn't seem to have very good customer service skills and slid my drink to me passive aggressively. Though i loved the burger of the month which was a " Thai chicken burger" The food did NOT disappoint. a little pricey but was worth it in the end. The vibe was like no other! ended up staying through karaoke, the DJ was awesome read more

My family was in town and craving Bloody Marys. We rolled the dice on a Google search and ended up at Burger Dive. I'm so glad we did! Both the drinks and the appetizers were awesome. We ordered Bloody Marys (of course) and really liked the flavor of the mix and salt on the rim. Later, we checked out the tap beer and were impressed with the local craft options. We originally just wanted drinks, but we couldn't resist trying a few appetizers. 1. Deviled eggs - YUM! I love a good deviled egg and was not disappointed. One order comes with six eggs. 2. Jalapeño cheese curds - I've said it before and will say it again: You can't go wrong with fried cheese. These curds were one of my favorites I've had in the Twin Cities, though! The curds have jalapeño in them but aren't very spicy. The basket includes slices of jalapeño if you want some extra heat. 3. Fried picked cauliflower - The flavor combo in this appetizer was awesome! I'd definitely get this one again. The atmosphere is also great! It'd be a fun place to watch a game. I'll definitely be back in the spring to check out their patio. read more

Burger dive was surprisingly less dive-y than expected. We came here for trivia and didn't order food, so I cannot speak to that much (although other members of the group enjoyed the burgers and appetizers), but we had a great time and they have a decent amount of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, which was great. It gets pretty busy on trivia nights, so make sure you come early! read more

The wings here are amazing! Crispy and good size wings. The ambiance is also fun, they have karaoke and it has a little retro feel to it.

On a recent ideal evening my son and I enjoyed burgers on the patio. We were told to grab an available table and we were quickly greeted by an energetic convivial server. We both ended up ordering Wedge Burgers and shared a generous basket of deep fried, battered cauliflower with both the ranch and jalapeño aioli dipping sauces. My son stuck with water while I had a fresh tasting Arnold Palmer to drink. We found our burgers to be good and satisfying. I thought mine had great beefiness but could have benefited by a bit more bacon and blue cheese. But overall it was very flavorful. My son nibbled at the cauliflower and I ended up consuming most of the delectable basket myself. Lest you want to risk a scalded mouth I would suggest waiting for the molten nuggets to cool somewhat before diving into the pile. As we left my son remarked that he was glad that we checked this place out but he didn't think he would return. With all of the excellent burgers served in restaurants between the western suburbs and this spot, I concur. Still, we had a very agreeable dinner sitting outside on a perfect early fall night. read more

I don't get what people see in the food. The staff is friendly and I like the vibe in the bar. I should've taken a photo of the chicken fried steak but it was awful. This weird sausage gravy on top that was all ground sausage and no gravy, sitting on soggy hash browns. It was weird and not crispy whatsoever. Don't mess with what's good. I'm not a huge fan of their burgers. I like the wedge but unless it's drenched in dressing their burger is dry and not very flavorful. Cute bar tho and fun place to watch a Packer game. read more

Dining here feels really safe. When entering you write down your name and number (assuming so they can notify you if there happens to be a covid exposure). The bar has dividers in place to keep each party safe. The booths have dividers attached also to provide safety during dining in. The establishment is decorated so festively for the upcoming Halloween holiday and they decorated with breast cancer awareness since the month of October is devoted to breast cancer awareness. Our server was very kind, quick, helpful, and very hardworking. I loved seeing that they support local and buy the best hot sauce ever Cry Baby Craigs. Each table has an assortment of condiments and seasonings. The burger has a delicious buttery toasted bun with a flavorful juicy patty. The fish sandwich was so tasty with a perfect fresh lemon flavor. The cocktail was mixed perfectly where I didn't feel I was just drinking lemonade and ice as it had the perfect amount of vodka added. read more

My son told us to go here for great burgers and he was right. Will go here again when in Minneapolis

I wanted so bad to LOVE this place, but after finally giving it a try, I have to go for just a middle-of-the-road like. First, the service was ok. Not awful, but not out of this world either. It took a bit to be noticed by our server to both order and settle up. We also had no napkins, silverware, or plates when our app came our. Made for a mess of fingers. The burgers did sound and look amazing, as did many of the sides. However, far too greasy for my liking. My stomach is still mad at me 6 hours later. We had the cauliflower for an appetizer, which was deliciously crispy with a slight vinegar bite, but so much grease left behind on everything. I had the patty melt, partner had the Wedge burger. I LOVE patty melts, but the addition of what I think was tge onion jam gave it a weird taste that just wasn't for me. The wedge looked decent, bit equally greasy. If you need a good, greasy burger, this is definitely the spot for you. If you're not wanting your burger drowned in butter, this won't be to your liking. I might try going back for breakfast, but don't think I'll be enjoying the main attraction again soon. read more

So good! Met up with family and had a great time. Multiple servers took care of us without missing a beat. This is a neighborhood bar and grill with a really fun atmosphere and truly craveable pub grub. I got takeout from here several times during peak pandemic and it was always delicious. This last time I hung out on a busy night with multiple concurrent games coming off their many screens; everyone had a blast, the staff was friendly and professional, and my cheesy patty melt was off the hook. They have a patio seating area which I haven't tried yet, and you'll need to find street parking. No big deal there; I really wouldn't change anything about this place. Got the October Special for $9.99 thanks to Yelp! Burger Dive is definitely your local neighborhood bar, I almost missed it driving over from Mpls. Although the price was great and the short encounter with the staff was friendly, the food itself was just okay. The fries were a little soggy for my preference (I ate it right after picking it up) and the burger itself didn't feel too special. I did notice that they have breakfast menus, maybe I'll have to give breakfast a try in the future. read more

The guys just have so much fun running this place! They are jovial with each other, slaps on shoulders, chatter. It makes the dive vibe that much better. Also the bartender seemed very close with the people at the bar. They were laughing and joking out loud with eac The owner (or at least I think he was the owner) was super hospitable and offered me a water while I waited for my order. Note to self, order ahead at every restaurant during this pandemic season. It did take longer than expected to prepare my order but the fun music, large screen tvs, and halloween decor made the wait interesting. This is a good place to stop for a burger and a beer! The menu has a pretty good spread of appetizers (their pierogis are great), burgers, and sides to add. They also offer a couple other sandwich options and their house chili. I stopped earlier this week with a friend for lunch and we had a good meal including their classic burger and chicken strips with a jack and coke to wash it down. At night time it's often close to full but lunch time it was easy to get a bar spot and the majority of tables were open. Service was sort of slow with us having to ask for a box and our tab by getting the bartenders attention each time - she also didn't check in on how the food was, etc. but it's a dive bar so not necessarily expected. The food was good - their chicken strips are surprisingly great but the prices are a bit high ($7.50 for a jack and coke + $13 for most of their burgers with chips). Their burgers are very standard but good and decently sized. They currently have some seasonal decor up which is super cute as well! We like this place and will continue to frequent because it's so close! read more

I tried this place off of Randolph on 7/10/25 and I will never return. Customer service is so poor. Never was asked if we wanted refills for our drinks, burger was not good. The vibe was good, but the waitress seemed to be in her own world on her phone or just standing by the bar. Tried to get her attention several times even the other waitress said she will get her and nothing for a good 20 minutes. Stood there longer than I wanted to. However I will very much so recommend the perogies, they were so dang delicious. read more

It's been a while since I've completely lost my mind for a new restaurant. Welp, I've lost it again over Burger Dive. I've been to BD three times now. First time I went hoping to try their chicken-fried steak & eggs, but they were out. So I had their corned beef hash. This was not some tiny minced beef & taters, it was big hunks of tender corned beef with onions & green peppers over hash browns. My wife and I also ordered their pierogies (because I can never say no to pierogies). Also an interesting spin; they were covered with bits of corned beef, scallions, sour cream, and kraut. Amazing! The second time I went, I saw that their monthly special was a chili cheeseburger. I LOVE chili cheeseburgers! And this did not disappoint. Once again, it was a slightly different take - their chili is dark, and seems to have chocolate or coffee in it, so it's much like a molé. Definitely was not expecting that, but it went perfectly with a burger. I went again this morning and finally got my chicken-fried steak & eggs. Good god. The cutlet was crunchy and well-seasoned, and that sausage gravy was completely out of this world. I've never had better. My wife & I plan on going AGAIN after church tomorrow. Gotta keep going back so I can eat my way through their whole menu! read more

Came on a Wednesday evening and it was busy. We couldn't find any available food menus inside but a couple offered to share one of theirs with us. We sat out in the back patio and it seemed like our server was stuck with a few patio tables and a large party inside so she was a bit slow with us. Food overall was ok. Burgers weren't too greasy and consisted of two cooked thin patties. Nothing overall exciting. A group of 5 tried to close our their tabs and our server left with the cards and didn't come back maybe until 20+ mins later. So we try to close out too and when she return with our tabs to sign, we had to borrow another neighbors pen to sign. Lol read more

I don't understand the good reviews. If you're looking for a plant based burger, save money and go to a fast food restaurant cause their impossible burger is overpriced and not worth what they are charging. Tastes the same as Burger King plant based burger. Wanted to sub the chips with fries, that's $4 more so I paid over $20 for a burger and fries. The fries were so full of salt, I had to literally rub the salt off on each french fry before eating them.(see salt in plastic bag) I kept thinking $4 for these disgusting over salty fries.Smh what a waste of money. They are better off not salting their fries at all if they don't know how to. I could not finish the fries, too salty and gross. Very disappointing meal. Waste of money. I will never get take-out or eat there in the future. No, I do not recommend this place for the food. read more

We ordered take out from Bay Street Burger Dive. 2 house burgers, large order of fries and an order of Pierogies with corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. Upon returning home with our order we opened our boxes with anticipation. The burgers weren't piping hot following the drive home but the looked awesome and I had to give it a try. Oh my goodness but this was very special. A great bun, melty cheese, pickles and tender tasty beef patties. Juicy, savory and satisfying. The meat is perfectly seasoned and cooked. My wife questioned whether to pop her burger into the microwave to warm it up a touch. I encouraged her to try it as is and she did. I believe an OMG was uttered. The fries were very good and a large was more than shareable. The pierogis were also delicious. I look forward to trying them and the burgers fresh from the kitchen and eaten onsite. Ok, so I will be the first to admit: I gave the Bay Street Burger Dive (BD) a bit of a cold shoulder for replacing its beloved predecessor, a tragic casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic coinciding with a very ill-timed family issue with its owner. The Bay Street Grill and Bar, may it rest in peace, was a wonderful gem of watering hole with cheap appetizers, ridiculously cheap breakfasts, raucous brunches, and amazing Bloody Marys. More on that later. I've now been to BD at least a dozen or so times since it opened in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, and over the course of this time, I can tell it strives to cater to the clients and bar atmosphere of its predecessor, while simultaneously maintaining its own sensibilities and focus on great bar food. First off, quite simply, the food is crack! Let's start with fries. I generally don't care much for most fries, anywhere. They're filling and sort of flavorless and boring in general. Usually I prefer potato chips because at least they're crunchy and have some textural contrast to the sandwich I'm eating. Well, BD's fries are not only crunchy, but they're served über fresh out of the frier, they're plenty salty, and absolutely addicting. I'm told the McDonald's style shoestring fries are deep-fried in beef tallow. They are insanely good, especially dipped in their house-made giardiniera aioli. At $3 for a small basket plus an extra $0.50 for the aioli, they're my absolute favorite fries anywhere. Next, the burgers. Patties are smash-fried on a griddle and have those crusty, lacy, crispy edges. All burgers are at least medium-well to well done; they don't ask how you want them. Or perhaps it's dont-ask-don't-tell. Not sure. But it's never been an issue. I recommend starting with the House Burger ($10.50), which is a simple burger topped with American cheese, minced onion, and pickles. They make their own dill pickles, which are briny and dilly. The House is probably still my favorite burger, but I've tried the Wedge ($12; American cheese, chopped bacon, lettuce, tomato, blue cheese dressing) and it is fantastic too. Of course BD is a full bar, so you can order any liquor. Beer taps are a bit limited, there's only eight of them. But they always have my regular EPA plus something else I might get instead. Now, as far as the Bloody Mary goes, they have tried in earnest to pay homage to the old Bay Street Grill's amazing bloodies. They're not quite what I remember but very close. You can upgrade your Bloody Mary to be "Bay Street style" with the complete spread that was standard from the days of yore: a beef stick, bacon strip, skewer of pepperoncini, pickles, hard-boiled egg, olive, and a curd of cheddar. I have yet to try breakfast and/or brunch here, but I am excited to! While I do miss the lower prices, generous Happy Hour specials, the modest menu, and the (ironically) more divey atmosphere of the old Bay Street Grill and Bar, BD is a new entrant that has upgraded the space to take it to the next level with delicious food, great drinks, and much of the familiar faces I remember from the old place. Atmosphere seems a bit quieter and more relaxed, though the bar still features pull-tabs and games if you're into that sort of thing. read more

An update to my previous review. A good buddy from Chicago, a retired copper like me, who dined in about 5,000 places in Chicago while in his beat-years. Our burgers yesterday (6/26/24) were beyond incredible they were so good. When I saw that someone in a previous review who was looking for a plant-based "burger" (that's not a burger) and complained, I knew that Jack's review was spot-on. Plant based?
