They are popular for their wings. I've tried the wings, salad, and burgers and I actually liked the burger the best. I had the Sweet Lou and the bacon and onion ring in it were perfect. It is a messy burger though! I would also recommend adding some lettuce and tomato. For wings, we tried their sweet bbq and medium buffalo, which are supposed to be their most popular sauces. The sweet bbq was better and I would definitely not get the buffalo again. It was too tangy in my opinion. I had the crispy chicken salad with Asian Zing and enjoyed that for the most part although some of the greens were kind of wilted. Kids 4 wing meals include a side and a drink. The boneless wings are just 4 very small nugget bites. It is not enough for a small kid that does not eat very much so I would not recommend it. The tots were crispy and good. The curly fries were kind of soggy. This is one of those places where you place your order at the counter and they will bring the food out to you. They also will clean up the tables. The restaurant itself is very cute and there are lots of TVs throughout so that you can watch a game that is on. The service is fantastic. Fun, towny atmosphere with plenty of IU sports pride! Staff is friendly and attentive. Parking is a bit inconvenient but there is a lot behind them if you're willing to navigate through the back. The restaurant is decorated head to toe in local sports memorabilia and even a custom painting on the ceiling! The table space is very cramped. I'm talking not even two feet wide. I don't recommend the bottom level seating because upper level people will unknowingly have their feet in your dining space. Food is decent. You get a free cup with your beer! read more

From friends familiar with Bloomington, I know this place is known for good wings and a staple college hangout. My boyfriend loves this place, and since we were passing though, we decided to stop in. There was a steady amount of customers, the only time I felt a little cramped [this is during the Pandemic] was waiting to order and the drink station right next to it. Unlike what another reviewer mentioned, the drink station was not controlled or limited to staff. The tables do have notes for which can be sat at, which is every other one for social distancing. Now, for the food. The boneless wings were lukewarm, or less than that in my opinion, when they were brought to our table, which was disappointing. I got the Korean BBQ and Honey Garlic. The Korean BBQ had no flavor, but on the other hand the Honey Garlic flavor was delicious. The outside of the wings have a good crisp, they aren't heavily breaded like you may see at a bdubs, for example, and I liked that! Finally made a stop here during a trip to Bloomington! If you're looking for great wings right off campus with a definite college dive feel- this is your place! Great sauce to wing ratio. The fried pickles left something to be desired as the breading was thick and heavy. You order at the counter and then they call your name and bring the wings to you. The parking is difficult, we ended up parking behind it in an area I'm sure we needed a permit to be in but didn't have. It's not often you see a jerk sauce either! However, the wings were very very small. I wish there was more meat to them. One drummie was the size of my pinky, not exaggerating. BuffaLouie's is a sports bar specializing in their buffalo wings. Their tater tots are also phenomenal! When I went to order my food, everything was touchless with the exception of payment. They had one staff member specifically devoted to filling patrons drinks to eliminate touching at that station. Another staff member was visibly cleaning tables and sanitizing as my group of four sat down. Our food was brought to us, once again to avoid traffic as much as possible. Lastly, we were instructed to leave our trash at the table so the staff could deal with it and resanitize it. I was under the assumption that this was a sit down serve you kind of establishment but it is not. It's a local college "bar" that serves food. The atmosphere is very college but it is a family friendly establishment. You order at a counter and they bring it to your table which are long with pew bench seating. We ordered 15 boneless -10 medium buffalo and 5 hot bbq with ranch and Bleu cheese. We both preferred the buffalo which was a pretty good buffalo sauce, weren't really fans of the bbq. We also got fried pickles which to our surprise were Spears (my favorite!) with the 87 sauce which is similar to a thousand island. They have many fried sides to choose from including beer battered onion rings which were our second choice. They also have some beers on tap, including angry orchard which I would've got if it wasn't so hot and we parked in a garage quite a distance away. Overall I wouldn't say the worlds best wings as they are quoted but they were pretty good! read more

This place is a staple here, but I haven't been in a really long time because I don't eat meat. A friend of mine told me they now have vegetarian items on the menu, and I'm so glad we tried them out! You can sub vegetarian impossible burger patties for any burger on the menu, that have veggie wings that you can dress in any sauce they offer, you can order any salad without meat (they're salads are super good), AND we were also able to hack the menu and ask nicely to sub in veggie wings for meat on their wraps, which ended up being my favorite thing we ate (asked for the Buffalo meatball sub as a wrap, sub veggie wings for meat)! This was my first visit to this restaurant across the street from the IU Campus. The chicken wings I got in my "to go" order where delicious with a bit of a crunch to the outside and tender meat inside. Wait time was minimal though I suppose there is an advantage to calling ahead during peak times. I ordered the "single" 10-pc chicken wings with Teriyaki sauce and some Ranch dressing on the side. The wings were nicely glazed with a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Great taste! The interior is spacious though somewhat divided into sections. Lots of sports memorabilia and pop culture items line the walls. The order counter is towards the back with several registers including an express for phone in orders. Service was friendly and helpful in getting my order just right. The only negative is that parking in the area is limited and metered. Their sauce selection is good though, I prefer the rasta jerk and Korean BBQ flavors. Their buffalo is not it. Their burgers are very good and big on a soft brioche bun. On top of this I ordered a salad with low exceptions since it is a sports bar, however the salad was very good. All of the veggies were fresh and a portion. We are wing lovers, so when we knew we'd be spending a weekend in Bloomington, we spent a lot of time on Yelp, Reddit and Google seeing where to go. Buffa Louie's consistently was the top contender. So, we went. The atmosphere feels like the perfect place to hang on game day or even when there's an away game. There's a good amount of seating for such a small space and tons of IU paraphernalia covering the walls. When you walk up to the counter there are people ready to take your order and answer all your questions. The menu is on the wall and backlit, which I appreciated because it made it easier to read. The large font was appreciated as well. We weren't that hungry so we shared 10 traditional hot wings. The waitress said they would be comparable to Franks Hot Sauce. They were not. Tasted more like mild, but they were very good and came out piping hot along with tater tots and lots of ranch and blue cheese. The only reason this place didn't earn five stars was the skeet-ness of the wings. They were rather small for the price (a little more than $1 a wing) so that was unfortunate. When you order wings, you want the meat! Not mostly bone. The jury is still out on if this is the best wing spot in Bloomington, but if you want a solid wing experience, give this place a try! read more
