Banh Mi
Linda L.

We stopped into the Hive looking for something quick and not fried. You order at counter get a number, and they bring it out to you. I enjoyed the chill vibe. I grabbed a Cortado coffee to go, and it was great! The Banh Mi was good. Not authentic, but had good flavor. I liked how it was wrapped in the parchment for cleaner eating. I could have used more veggies in it. The chicken pot pie was very flaky and good. Soup and rice and beans were comforting. We also got a smash burger that was ok, it was good, soft bread, but not our favorite.

AWESOME place! One of my absolute go-tos in Bloomington for breakfast and brunch. I love their all-day breakfast menu, and the tater tots are unbelievably tasty -- perfectly crispy and seasoned just right. Their weekend brunches are even better -- the blueberry pancakes and quiche slices absolutely rock. Tons of great breakfast and lunch options, so there's always something new to try. The vibe is very casual and welcoming, and the staff are always friendly. You order at the counter, and they bring your food right to your table. Prices are reasonable, and they even have a rewards program, which is a nice bonus. I also appreciate how clean this restaurant is in general, too. A must-visit if you're in Bloomington -- Hive never disappoints!

We have been visiting Hive at 10th and the Bypass since their opening. One World has a great tradition of good food at Lennie's and the we have been so happy to have this option on the East side. Lots of parking Pies so many delicious pies Indoor/outdoor seating Some fun menu offerings that make it a little more distinct Love the velvet soup, roast chicken, the bahn mi (so delish), and the Hive out of course. The grab and go pickup is wonderful. I love sending in an order and having my husband just run in on his way home and it is ready to go on the shelf with no waiting in line.

This was my first time trying Hive. I've heard so many good things about the tater tots so I had to try them. This is the type of place where you order at the front, sit down, and then they bring your food to you when it's ready. I liked how spacious it was with lots of natural light and outdoor seating for when it's nice out. We ordered the smash burgers and these were decent burgers. I expected a little more flavor but it's okay. The bun is really soft but the meat and toppings slip out really easily. The tater tots were honestly life changing--a 5/5! I loved the sauce they came with. I would definitely come again to try other items on their menu, especially the brownie pie!

Loved the outdoor seating and the coffee was quite good. We thought the food was good, not out of the world amazing, but good. We tried a variety of dishes, a breakfast sammie (loved the challah), two different burgers and avocado toast. I liked that we could serve ourselves coffee and soda. The hot honey and jams were delicious. Definitely a solid choice if you are looking for a quick brunch or lunch a bit away from campus.

Frisco Melt with seasoned fries

Delicious burger, crispy fries and great atmosphere. Met some friends for lunch and had the Frisco burger with fries. The sourdough bread was crispy and perfectly sour. The beef was flat with crispy edges. Loved the thousand island dressing. The shoestring fries were thin, crispy and perfectly seasoned. Yum!

Food is always delicious and reasonable in price! The service is quick and things stay clean. Perfect afternoon lunch or weekend brunch spot

Cuban Breakfast Bowl. Eggs cooked to perfection, but overcooked rice and needs more flavor!

Super great sandwiches and roasted broccoli! I got the vegan bahn mi sandwich and a fountain drink, both were really delicious!

We've returned to Hive several times and tried a variety of foods from the menu. Every entree has been awesome! Also the best tots in town.

Love the laid back vibe, and the side patio is so nice! Food was fresh. I had the turkey melt and turmeric slaw and thoroughly enjoyed it!

I went in for a simple drip coffee and even brought my own re-usable mug. It cost $3.51! The coffee itself is unremarkable.

I've been to farm a few times and I think there are some highlights that do deserve 5 stars:…read more 1. Their garlic fries - hands down some of the best fries I have EVER had. They're incredibly unique and their appetizer portion is HUGE and great for a group of people. 2. Their drinks - also unique, and really good. If you're looking for a good cocktail this is a great option. 3. Vibes - the space is cute, the vibes are fun - great for a dinner with friends or a date night. (Or a girlie brunch!) I give 4 stars because sometimes their menu feels boring - not much changes and it's a pretty small menu. I have to be in a very specific mood if I'm going here, and there's usually only 2 things I'll order. Id love more seasonal menus or just more options. Their service can also be hit or miss. I've been and had wonderful service, and I've been and felt like they forgot I existed. No one wants to be waiting around to order a drink, or to get the check. Overall - I'd definitely go. Make a reservation because they do get busy.

$60-70 Let me tell you what I experienced on 2/13/26…read more We had an OpenTable reservation, and our group traveled to Bloomington (from Carmel) for a play. We tried calling several times throughout the day to notify FARM that we needed to change the reservation because two of our guests were ill and would not be able to join. The restaurant's phone just kept forwarding to voicemail. We arrived at our reservation time and were told that we would be charged via OpenTable for the guests who did not join. When I mentioned the phone issue, the hostess said that it did not matter if we had called today, because the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. I did not know they would be ill 24 hours prior to the reservation - but whatever. I was not happy, but did not argue the issue. We were seated, only to find that there was a prefix "Valentine's Day Menu". We thought that was interesting because we had researched the website & menu before the evening, and there was no mention of this menu being the only option for Friday (2/13) night. Even the menu PDF says "Valentine's Day" - there were signs throughout the restaurant noting "Valentine's Day Menu". The server also mentioned that many other patrons were upset. The items on the menu were also priced far higher than the regular menu. So, we were excited to try FARM, arrived to a very sassy attitude (from the host) about the party size, noting that I was going to be charged. Getting to the table to see a modified menu, whose prices were jacked up. The (very sweet) server validated our feelings and confirmed that other patrons were upset, too. We finally just decided to leave. On the way out, the "sassy" host was snarky and mentioned that we would likely be charged again for the remaining guests leaving and not eating. I have pictures of the signs, and screenshots of the website - and I dare FARM to charge me for their false advertising. At least note the website, signage, and OpenTable if you are following modified menus or processes, and train your team better!! We were thrilled to try FARM, and left saying that we would NEVER go back. So disappointed :(

It did appear that a small piece of tape was put under each glass but I'm not sure how stable that made them. The restaurant operates on a seat yourself policy, but it ended up taking almost 20 minutes for us to be greeted. Our server walked by us a handful of times during that period to clean dirty tables and drop off things to other customers, but didn't greet us. I ordered their grits, toast, and egg meal and an espresso drink. Our food took about 20 minutes to arrive. During that time I went to the bathroom and noticed a large bag of someone's makeup was left in the bathroom within 6 inches of the sink. No one was in the bathroom at that time so I found that oddly gross to leave personal makeup (worth over $500) in a public bathroom. The floors in the bathroom also had yellow buildup around the edge of the floor and the walls. When my food came out I received oatmeal instead of grits and there was issue with bringing out the grits. My group was done eating by the time they arrived undercooked. Once we were done eating we waited for our check to be dropped off but observed our server leave the restaurant and not come back in. I walked up to the counter and waited long enough for a nearby customer to comment on how it "seems like they don't want to take your money." Roughly 4 minutes later another server came up and helped cash us out. We paid for our meal and left, as an hour long experience in a restaurant like this without a present server, dangerous artwork, incorrect food, and unhygienic items and cleanliness being noted in a bathroom were enough to make us run. Also to note, they have at least one piece of artwork on the wall with the topic of the 2nd amendment, so if that isn't your thing, you can note it before making the decision to eat here.

I visited twice for a breakfast and a lunch. Lunch: I had a Black Russian sandwich and a pot of Emperor's Pride tea. The sandwich, which is a vegetarian version of a Reuben with roasted veggies instead of meat, was delicious. They really piled on the veggies. Some fell out of the sandwich, but I just ate them with the home fries. The home fries also were nicely seasoned. The tea was a little off. It's possible it was the tea itself that didn't taste how I expected, but it kind of tasted like I was getting the flavour of a different tea in the pot. Breakfast: Apple pancake and bouquet latte (seasonal special - lavender Ceylon tea latte with honey and rose syrup). The bouquet latte was wonderful and had this beautiful red swirl latte art. The pancake was nice and fluffy. One pancake is something like $5, but one is enough for a complete meal, maybe with a protein side if you're especially hungry. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The food didn't take very long even though they seemed busy.

Again, as always, was impressed and enjoy the quirky nature of the Spoon. RS is in an old house just off Kirkwood. A bunch of smaller rooms, plus a large outdoor dining patio out front. We got lucky with parking on the street pretty close to the restaurant (no real parking lot) and I would have preferred to eat outside but daughter got to the hostess first and we ended up indoors. Everyone ended up with breakfast choices. Wife had an omelette, said it was great. I had banana+granola pancakes (two) which was plenty. The flavor was great. Also eggs and toast. Son had the Kevin which is basically what I ordered but with French Toast. Daughter had a chocolate chip pancake which she enjoyed. Overall, great food and very reasonable. Service was on point and again the atmosphere is fun and quirky. Need to add to our regular rotation.
