The food was so good that we brought several of our local family members from Indianapolis back again on Saturday. While we did encounter a small issue during our visit, what truly stood out was how it was handled. Christian, the manager, could not have been more professional, attentive, and customer-focused. Our server (whose name I unfortunately don't remember) was equally outstanding throughout the experience. I often say that it's easy to provide great service when everything goes perfectly. The real test is how a business responds when something doesn't go as planned. Christian and the team passed that test with flying colors. They addressed the situation promptly, genuinely cared about making things right, and turned what could have been a negative experience into a memorable example of exceptional hospitality. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the customer service was truly top-notch. Because of the way Christian and our server handled everything, we left with an even better impression of Big Woods than we had before. Thank you for a wonderful experience. They only said that "the kitchen was backed up and it would take a while". No offer to even check on our food, no understanding that we were hungry because we had been waiting for an hour. Food finally comes. My friend's burger is UNDERCOOKED. She has to send it back, and cancels her order entirely (declined a replacement burger). I asked to see a manager. Female manager comes. I told her we had waited for our food for an hour. She spoke to me with an attitude, and was not apologetic at all. She said "every seat in the house was full, the kitchen was busy, and there was nothing she could do about it". I said we had waited for AN HOUR. She repeated herself. I said my friend's burger was undercooked. She said that the kitchen cooked food " to the health code temperature" and she could take the burger off the bill. I asked for a discount on the food. She responded with a flat "No". No apology delivered, no empathy, no sense of customer service or hospitality. It was appalling. Female manager swings by 5 minutes later with the bill. She said she took 25% off our bill (and took the burger off as well). Contradicting what she said earlier. Our interaction with her was so rude and classless that even the patrons at the table next to us, said that the way she spoke to us was UNACCEPTABLE. The table next to us had been waiting for their appetizer for 25 minutes. The customer service was awful. I am disgusted and disappointed. I will never be back. Be respectful to college students - we are your clientele. I am certain she would not have spoken to me like that if I was a parent. If you can't handle a busy period during a game/parent weekend, don't do business in a college town.
