I went here for the first time last night. My beautiful girlfriend was with me, she loves the establishment and wanted to introduce me to it. I ordered the Boneless version of the Garlic Parmesan wings. I wasn't expecting to go through a roller coaster of emotions because of chicken (the date was fantastic as always too). The first bite was absolutely magnificent. The second bite? Magical. Halfway through my third bite I considered skipping a few dates and proposing to my girlfriend right on the spot. This place is iconic. You must check it out if you're on campus. The food is delicious and high quality and the atmosphere is lively and fun. I've been several times and ordered delivery. The wings are always fresh and hot. The sauces are delicious and come in several flavors and levels of heat. I know this is strange but I recommend the garden salad. It's fresh, crisp, and really compliments the traditional wings. They're opening a new addition this fall that has Grab n Go food, so now you won't have to wait in long lines. Yassss! Ok ok I know, this is a wing place and yes the wings are good, BUT this is, hands down, THE best Cobb Salad in Bloomington! Everything but the kitchen sink! Grilled chicken, avocado, boiled egg, bacon, bleu cheese, onion and greens. So much bleu cheese you don't need dressing, I suggest getting side of buffalo sauce for chicken and it's the perfect compliment. Went on a Saturday, not a game day. Was in town to visit a friend and she said this place was good. It was very good actually! It's order at the counter, bring food to table type place. We ordered 50 wings since we had 5 of us and just wanted a bunch of wings, the owner? Ed?, suggested Honey Garlic and TnT. We also go onion rings and fries. I also ordered some Sweet BBQ. The wings are very good, really crispy! I love it! The Honey Garlic and the Sweet BBQ were both very good. I could use a touch more garlic taste in the Honey Garlic. Be prepared for a mess, there is a TON of sauce on the bottom haha. You can dip stuff in it though :) The onion rings are also very good. The fries are curly and have no seasoning on them but are cooked very well. There are a bunch of tv's and the staff are VERY friendly. Food took about 10 ish minutes to get ready but it's fresh which was great. I would def come back. Noise level is between normal and loud, but it's not so loud you can't hear people talking. read more

This is my second review: and a seriously well deserved retraction. The owner personally contacted me and asked about my bad experience and asked for a second chance. Thank goodness he did! I recognize now that the mistake was in ordering the boneless wings, and having them delivered. The REAL wings come in a sauce so sticky it feels like candy coating, on meat so big and juicy it looked like a thigh. Onion rings as big as my hand--even the salad was abundant and well put together! I'm glad he talked me into coming into the restaurant. It made all the difference in my opinion. This is the only place in town I will go for wings! The offer regular and boneless. Sidebar: I also have used them for small and HUGE catering events at my last two jobs. Buffalouies is my go to place for wings in Bloomington. First, this is a great location. Steps from the Sample Gates, it is in the heart of the action. I remember other restaurants in the Gables, but it was made for Buffalouies IMHO. I've had both the boneless and bone in wings, and at this place, go for the bone. Will they be messier, yes. But you're coming for wings! Roll up your sleeves, grab extra napkins and dive in. The boneless have been good sometimes and a bit dry sometimes, but the bone in have been right on every time. They have several degrees of heat as well as a barbecue option and a few others. I personally like the TNT BBQ, for a little sweet with my heat. The other thing I recommend is that you get some fries, or cheese bread to sop up the sauce when the joy of the wings is gone. Typically I am trying to lick the paper when I'm done. Buffalouies is a family tradition for us. I even get their sauces in bottles to take to my brother in Houston. He needs his fix too, and misses Buffalouies when he's not here. This is a cool place that reminds me of my college days years ago. It's the classic college, ballgame watching, pitcher of beer with your buddies place. The burgers are strong. Very good. Unfortunately, they wanna be famous for WINGS, but I found their wings to be a bit odd. Here's the deal: they are not dried long enough, leaving the skin stretch, soft, and rubbery. Good wings are deep fried till the skin is tight and semi-crispy. The wind sauce is tasty, and a bit on the buttery side of the spectrum. They taste great. I love this place, it's one of my favorite places to go when I'm in Bloomington. I always get their Buffalo Chicken salad with grilled tenders, but you can also get it with fries tenders too. I also get extra croutons , and I don't generally like croutons, but I really like theirs, I think they make them in house. They are known for their wings in Bloomington and have gotten some awards. It's locally owned and operated and you often see Ed there taking and bringing out orders. It's a sports "bar" so I've been there several times to watch not just IU games, but Colts, Cubs, and everything else. They are usually pretty busy and have different things happening when it's not an IU game night. I absolutley positively LOOOOOVVVEEEE Buaffa Louie's. I discovered Buffa Louie's during my sophomore year at IUB, and I have been hooked ever since. It is always one of my go to places when visitiing Bloomington. I'm such a bore and order the exact same thing every time - bone in wings with sweet sauce and some tots. Yes, I know. I am weirdo, but these seriously are hands down my favortie wings. The only reason I marked this place down a star is because they are not consistent. During my most recent visit in April, I believe, my wings could have used a few more minutes in the frier. I never know what I'm going to get. I've had incredible batches that were absolutley FIYAHHHH. They were cooked perfectly and drenched in the delicious sauce. Or I could get a batch that wasn't cooked long enough and they skimped on the sauce. The location on Kirkwood didn't exist when I was a student (am I showing my age with that comment), but I like it. The location is more central and spactious. I love all of the crimson and cream decor. Hoo-Hoo-Hooosiers! I will continue to visit Buffa Louie's until I have one foot in the grave. This place is awesome. The wings are much smaller than most places, but personally I like that. They are still super filling, but you don't have to shove half a chicken in your mouth at the dinner table. The flavors are unique but not so unique that they're gross or unrecognizable, and the chicken is crispy but also tender (and actually tastes like real chicken!) Unlike most wing spots (such as BW3) these wings actually have adequate sauce to cover all of them. The vibe of the restaurant is also nice, you get the feel of a mom & pop sports bar without hearing sports on the TV so loud that you can't hear your own thoughts.
