Sadly, I have to update my previous review, as I had a bad experience with this business, when I recently tried to utilize their services as a repeat customer. I scheduled a moving appointment with their receptionist (whom must have been new, as I never spoke to her in the past). I explained I only had a few items I needed moved, that I used their services in the past, and she verified the time, day, and price, before our call ended. Well, only two days later, when it was the scheduled move day, I raced around getting prepared to have them arrive, only to then continue waiting for 6 hours. In- between, I kept attempting to call their business, as well as email them, but no answer/ no show. I suppose I should have paid more attention to the other reviews mentioning the same happening to them. I then got a return email a day later from the lady I had spoken to, saying that I didn't "sign" the estimate. What? Nothing was said about "signing an estimate", it was already agreed to over the phone. It makes me sad to leave anything negative in a review for this company, but this was unfair that I had a whole day wasted simply because the receptionist wanted an email confirmation. Seems really strange to me, and was never anything they had me do the past two times I had used their services. I hope they will reconsider how things are being scheduled. read more

We just completed our second move using Budget movers in almost exactly 3 years. The first year we found the pricing appropriate and the skills on point (I forget where I posted that). This year we went into it thinking our move would be smaller and the same distance but realizing prices have gone up and things would be a little bit more. first, they showed up at 1:30 instead of 12 pm. i wish someone told me ahead of time that they were going to be late. Unprofessional but they got the job done. the lady on the phone said it would be around $420. Payment was actually $556 because of an hour service with driving. I did not appreciate the hidden fee. My quote and the actual cost were no where close in range. Jozlin Chavira is the main problem, then followed by the owner Mario. My actual cost was nearly double of my estimate. I was very clear on what was in my storage unit, I was even moved up to their largest moving truck, 28'. I did not believe it would be exactly what Jozlin Chavira quoted, I gave it some wiggle room for the cost to go up, but not nearly double. When I spoke with the owner Mario at the time of payment he said he would speak with Jozlin and get back to me in a couple of days. I never heard back from Mario or given any type of refund as he implied. I even gave him a couple extra days from when he said he would call. I never heard back from him so I called them where Jozlin answered the phone. She spoke to me so unprofessionally, like a some low class person who wants to start a fight with you on the street. She didn't remember what she quoted and said she only gave me the quote for the bare minimum. Not true, that's a big fat lie, she gave a timeframe and a dollar amount when we were on the phone. To this day nearly 1 week after my move, I've never heard from the owner Mario or receive any type of refund. If Jozlin cannot give a quote somewhere with the ballpark of what she quotes, then in my personal opinion she shouldn't be giving quotes. The cost being nearly double in absolutely unacceptable, as is an owner or business not keeping their word. My advice is to stay away from this company because if something goes wrong, you'll never get any assistance or an issue resolved. They won't even call you back. This is a long overdue review, but I remembered I wanted to do it, since I was recommending them to someone who is looking to move soon. I have used this company two separate times in the last few years, and both times they exceeded my expectations. Most recent move was June 2024. Mario was kind to discount the price, as I am a single female, with no other help, and had only about 4-5 things I actually needed help with moving. It was amazing how difficult it was to find someone like him, who was understanding, and not trying to rip me off! I must have called about 12 places, all of whom wanted a ridiculous sum of money for such a tiny amount of work. I wish I could remember the name of the two guys who actually assisted during the move, but they were both outstanding as well, and one of them I remembered from the time before. Our move was tough because it was New York City, and the condo our son was moving into had a lot of ridiculous requirements, with one being he had to move in on a certain day. Budget picked up our stuff; their team was great and really wrapped all of our furniture to protect it. They were right on time and stored our furniture in their warehouse before they had to move it to Chicago for the final move to NYC. They worked with us on all of the crazy requirements from the condo association and the furniture arrived on the day it needed to be there. I wish I could leave a better review. I gave the owners ample opportunity (4 weeks) to right their wrong. The movers arrived on time, moved things efficiently. However, the movers damaged our TV in the process of unmounting the TV for the wall. I promptly called Isiah to advise him of the damage, I gave him the size of the TV, sent pictures of the damage. I was given the run around for 30 days, as they were looking for the same make and model, USED TV and were able to find it. We purchased this TV from BESTBUY less than a year ago, with receipt; we were given reimbursement in the amount of $175.00. UNACCEPTABLE!!! We had most of our boxes staged in the front room and had shrink-wrapped a bunch of our furniture already... they thanked us for having it so well organized and then got to work. A-MA-ZING! So, I originally booked with All My Sons. They gave me an estimate, then the day before my move, called again to confirm and DOUBLED the estimate they originally gave me. I was livid, I was panicked, I was so upset because it was too late to get my deposit back now. But I decided to look into some options. I also did the silly move of reading the reviews AFTER the fact. They were horrid. I looked around online and found Budget Movers. The reviews were stellar, but could they fit me in on such short notice? I gave it a shot. Spoke with Jeff, who was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. We discussed pricing. The rate he was giving me for 3 hours was as much as All My Sons wanted to give me for TWO. Truck and three movers. BUT Budget Movers would also be able to disassemble AND reassemble my kids bunk bed, AMS could only dissasamble. And for what they charge? CRIMINAL! Anyway, I got incredibly lucky and Jeff was able to accommodate my requested move date and time. My move was happening in less than 48 hours and he got me in! The day of, the lead mover called and confirmed my address, told me he was about 20 min away. He and his team arrived and they were incredibly nice and helpful. They hustled! They banged out a larger volume move (for an apartment) in such a short time. No damage to any of my items. They disassembled and reassembled the bed with ease, and it's still nice and sturdy as it was before. They even helped me take all my trash out! I thought I'd walk into a massive mess of boxes everywhere, but they did a great job of setting up my apartment so that the furniture was ready to go and I just needed to worry about unpacking my boxes. At the end, the final price was still WAY cheaper than my AMS quote, and with the lower price I was able to tip these men as they deserved. These guys KILLED IT! read more

The owner Jim is easy to work with but on the day of the move the guys took 5hours to load a 2 bedroom apartment into moving containers. This is about two times more than the previous movers I used in the past for the same work. Also, the most expensive move I ever had, Iended up paying 575$. On top of this, som of the furniture wasn't properly secured and the items got damaged as seen in the pictures. read more

I will never recommend this company to anyone. They showed-up hours late, tried to act like they were not aware that multiple stops were included in my move, and they lost one of my items. When I called to inform them of lost item, there was no urgency, and I was basically told that they did not have it and must have dropped it off at one of the stops. On 9/9/23 Budget Movers packed my belongings to move long distance via ABF tractor trailer. Many of my items were crushed due to negligent packing; a solid oak dining table, a dryer, a BBQ grill, and smaller items. The oak table was packed standing up with a couple boxes under it that had NO support and hundreds of pounds of boxes stacked on top. I have also never seen a dryer crushed so the drum would no longer turn (verified by a repair company), we had to buy a new one when we got there. When I called multiple times to see if they would cover some of my items and sent them pictures of the damage that I have attached here, they advised me they would not cover any negligence since I didn't use their truck, and the ABF tractor trailer was "inferior". I cannot imagine how the shipping vessel would have stopped my items from being crushed due to hundreds of pounds of weight being packed incorrectly on top of my standing table and clothes dryer! They refuse to admit fault or cover my damage at all. I have moved several times and never saw packing damage like this. The management was very unresponsive and unwilling to make any effort to correct the situation. They also insuated I was there and should have watched their team and supervise them! I hired a moving company to use their expertise on packing my items for a safe trip. My kids could have done this move better! Their terrible packing cost me thousands of dollars in damage which no one wants to cover! I have also made a complaint to the BBB. read more

Best movers ever! And I've moved many, many times, and was very anxious about it, but after seeing the crew working together and handling my items with care, I didn't have to be reassured anymore. They worked their tails off for nearly 12 hours moving me from an upstairs condo to a single story home about 10 miles away. We had to make an additional stop to pick up items stored elsewhere.
