There is a table and a couple of chairs, but they are house-style furniture, meant more for waiting than dining in, and were covered with an in-progress puzzle surely meant at least partly to dissuade potential non-carryout customers. Big menu, with lots of interesting items. Several Malaysian dishes, fairly rare in town, so I tried one, mee goreng. Fried noodles in a curryish sauce, with a moderate heat that builds. I got beef; there are other proteins. Very tasty. Big portion for $8 at lunch. Tender slices of beef, flavorful sauce, a few green onions and some lettuce on top making a futile stab at healthiness. Cheap. Great. And fast! I figured I really should have called my order in (no web ordering,) but wanted to check the place out and maybe eat there. But though the owners were busy, cooking and prepping deliveries, I got my food in about 5 minutes. I had asked for summer rolls but she said they would take awhile, made from scratch, with the other stuff they had in the pipeline, so I did pass on those. But lunch at almost noon on a weekday in 5 minutes, for $8, for plenty of tasty food? I'm in. Parking is weird, of course, right along the street but perpendicular. Another great lunch for the office. It's right down the street from our office and it's easy for us to come pick up. They are super nice when ordering and easy. One of our favorite dishes is the jalapeños chicken and it's super spicy! I decided to go a different route and choose the Cajun spicy chicken. It defiantly had a good Cajun kick and was extra spicy! Sometimes it's too spicy, so it add the rice and jt helps cool it down. Portion size is very filling, and you can also choose no rice as well. This is a small place and there are no tables inside, so it is only carryout. I ordered the tofu at lunchtime, and it was not too busy. It has a limited amount of vegetarian items. The lunch prices are about $6 to $7. It's a good value for the amount there is. The order was hot and steaming as the container was opened. There were plenty of tofu and vegetables. It has no tables inside. You will have to get it delivered or takeout. I think Buckeye Asian Express is a good choice if you're not too choosy. Ordered Hot and Sour Soup, General Tso Chicken and Pad Thai Shrimp. Everything was fresh tasting, hot and beautifully "plated", even for carry out - carefully added garnish, such as peanuts, half of lime on pad thai, plenty of broccoli with chicken, and large, halved mushroom cap on soup. This is the best Chinese food around Clintonville!! And the fastest service I've ever seen. I place my order and waalaa, it is at my door in like 20 minutes!!! No kidding! We are so glad we ran across their Bourbon Chicken, it is the best. We always ask for extra sauce which they give to us for free.

First off let me say that I may be biased by campus chinese places that seem to be amazing. But also let me say that I always give a new place a fair chance. But this place was just downright awful; and I tried it twice. The crab rangoon's can hardly be called "crab." There is a small amount of cream cheese in the middle and that is it. The wonton soup broth had NO flavor and the dumplings were so squishy/limp and also had NO flavor. The first time I went I had Bourbon Chicken. I love this entree and have never had a bad time; but this was. It tasted...musty...was dry...and honestly hard to choke down. I was upset, but I decided to try again. The second time I had pad thai. My FAVORITE food. It also tasted musty. I don't know what it is about this place but I feel like the food tastes like a towel that has been sitting in water for too long. I was so disappointed. And afterwards my stomach KILLED. My boyfriend had sesame chicken, and I feel like this is a dish you shouldn't be able to mess up. But it was was so mushy! Like it had been sitting in liquid for hours. And the inside of the meat was mostly just fat/mush. The first time we went he had sweet and sour chicken, which was okay, besides the sauce; which is liquidy and tasteless. The only good thing about this place is the fast service and the vegetable egg rolls. I suppose the price was decent but the portions are small compared to most other chinese places. Excellent food and very friendly staff. I have had it twice and both times the meals were large, flavorful, and well presented. Price is very good for the large portions. We used to get Canton City for authentic Asian take-out, but they have closed their doors. This place is looking like a good replacement. This is not your typical Americanized Chinese fast food place (as you find on Campus), which I am guessing is why it only got 1 star from the reviewer that is used to that sort of Asian food. read more

I am really shocked about these high reviews. This is honestly the worst chinese I have ever had. My husband said he didn't think anyone could mess up General Tso's but they did. I was in the mood for some takeout Chinese food and I knew Buckeye Asian Express was new in the area so I decided to try it out. The staff there was extremely nice and chatted with my roommate and I as we waited. We were in and out in about 10 minutes or so. The food itself was better than I expected. I decided on a shrimp fried rice which comes in a pretty large portion for a pretty low cost. The shrimp were large and the dish tasted fresh. I do wish it had a little more flavor to it. This is a local Asian food, carryout only place. I stopped in to pick up lunch for a few people around 2pm on a Monday. The staff was extremely friendly and even warned me about the phone pole that could become a potential problem when backing up. I ordered vegetable lo mein, pork fried rice, orange chicken and general tsao chicken. Everyone thought it was good. It wasn't outstanding or excellent, but it was good. I thought the pork was a bit fatty. Probably because the meat wasn't trimmed. Although there was plenty of meat in the rice. Also included was egg, carrots, sprouts and peas. None of us thought the food was bland as others noted, although soy sauce was added to the fried rice and lomein. The other entrees were fine. All said they would eat it again. The veggies were fresh and entrees were still hot after a 10 minute drive. Service is fast. Originally told 15 minute wait, but was ready in about 10 minutes. I'll go back. They also deliver. Let me start by saying I was a regular customer at Buckeye Asian Express for over 2 years. When I was a student at Ohio State, I ordered and picked up from them on a weekly basis. Now since I've moved, I've had carryout/delivery multiple times. This last and final time I purchased Buckeye Asian Express, I ordered Bourbon Chicken with fried rice, General Tso with fried rice & two egg rolls. They explained to me it would be 30 -40 minutes and they even gave me a courtesy call that my food was on the way. I waited and waited because it was only roughly 3 miles away and an hour after I ordered my food I received a call from the restaurant indicating that they tried to deliver my food & rang the doorbell (which I don't have) and hear a little dog bark (when I have a 75 lb. large dog). Which proved, they went to the wrong home. Not only did the delivery driver not have a cell phone, they had the wrong apartment. For the sake of safety purposes, especially because it was a female driver, the person should have a cell phone on them at ALL times. If there is an accident, delay or in this case "wrong house delivery". Buckeye Asian express refused to re-deliver my food (because they had 5 other delivery orders pending). They also refused to let me come & pick up the food free of charge (an hour old cold food at this). The customer service was completely unacceptable and I'm very disappointed in their response to a previously extremely satisfied customer who has been ordering from them for over 2 years. read more

Really not good. My wife ordered General Tso's chicken and crab rangoon. I ordered pineapple fried rice. The chicken was soggy, the vegetables were overcooked, and the sauce was mostly corn syrup with no spices or flavoring. The fried rice was literally nothing more than their standard fried rice with canned pineapple nibs mixed in (for more than $7!). The crab rangoon was OK, but it hardly made up for the entrees. I went out to grab a fast take out on Friday at this new outlet. Buckeye Asian Express, I have to say it was really good, the General Tso's Chicken with brown sauce,the brown sauces that make the meals taste so awesome. The chef has something to do with the sauce,it make me kept thinking of going back for brown sauces meals. However,the prices of meals on the menu isn't very expensive,compare to what I had the same meal in the capital city, Washington,DC. Buckeye Asian Express serves good and hot Chinese Food at very reasonable prices.My favorite items include the chicken wings which must come from some mutant chicken because they are huge! They are always cooked piping hot and very filling. I recently tried their pork fried rice. It was a pleasant surprise to see big slices of pork mixed in (The size of half dollars) instead of the itty bitty bits of red meat you find in other fried rice. A dinner size portion of rice and an order of chicken wings was enough for dinner for two with plenty leftovers. They do delivery, but I would suggest just calling in for take out for faster service. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for an order. Friendly counter service every time and with an open window you can watch your food being made fresh! read more

Not a horrible place but not great either. Order from here a lot because of proximity. Lo mein is good. Pad thai is ok according to the wife. They put their food in takeout boxes made of styrofoam. The piping hot food melts the styrofoam. No bueno. I alerted them of this with a phone call and the nice lady said that the boxes were defective. Uh no. Hot food melts styrofoam.
