I ordered a fresh taro with milk and they gave me a cup that was 70% full (see photo). Also, the drink was disgusting - it didn't have much flavour and wasn't blended well. The drink tasted like milk with left over taro bits. I really want to support this local business, but they are skimming on the ingredients and sacrificing the quality of their drinks. read more

Bubble Bear Cafe - Fresh taro bubble tea - 70% full. Very little flavour and not blended well. Do not recommend. - Bubble Tea Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Pearls are delicious! Their flavour combination suggestions are great! I always go with the good ol' faithful Milk Tea.. but I get the ~milk tea SLUSH~ with pearls which I feel I only can ever find at Bubble World and man, it's delicious. I also had the taro mango slush the other day and I didn't expect it to be such a great combo but it was great. The price is pretty average ($4.50-5.50 for 1 BBT (including pearls and tax)) but they do the stamp cards which most places don't do these days so that's a perk. I 100% recommend. Consistently good and really friendly owners. read more

This is not authentic Taiwan bubble tea. Tried two flavor, original and red bean. The milk ( which is not milk at all) taste bad as well. I don't know how it can get 4.3 star still and still open. Don't go to this place!! Horrible , I will give 0 star if possible. read more

I felt very fortunate this place was open on New Years day, when I had an intense craving for bubble tea. This was my first time trying Bubble Bear Cafe, and I'm so glad I did! The cashier at the front was very friendly, and let me ask my questions patiently. I finally decided on the strawberry banana fresh fruit milk slush with agar jelly and grass jelly. I like that they use fresh fruit (the banana), and that you can adjust the sugar level to your taste. I generally find bubble tea to be too sweet, so I asked for 30% normal sweetness and it was perfect. The final product cost about $6, which is pretty typical for bubble tea. I was also impressed they had agar jelly here, which has no calories and has a texture similar to that of pearls and aloe jelly. Really loved everything about my experience here, and I got a stamp card for my next visit! Will definitely be back. read more

I had the ginger dessert tofu drink and it was alright. It was ginger tea with a dessert tofu topping. I found the drink to be a bit too sweet for my liking so I would probably order a milk tea instead next time. read more

There are plenty of bubble tea places in this area but this little mom and pop place is always our favourite. I usually get the mango slush which is loaded with mango flavor but I recently ordered the ferrero rocher drink and it was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back. read more

3.5 stars. Very similar to Mr. Mustache with the same plastic designs and similar frothy original milk tea made with shakers. Prices are cheaper here and they have some cooked snacks as well (didn't try). Milk tea diluted in flavour. Pearls were on point. Owners very friendly. read more

Marpole is bustling with dessert and drink places these days. How does Bubble Bear Cafe compare? Depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for your standard, no-frills bubble tea at a very reasonable price, this is the place! It reminds me of the bbt shops I'd go to in my teens, before all the "fancier"/chain bbt joints started opening up with their fancy sea salt foam macchiatos and etc. I like this place because it's simple, clean, has fast service+nice owners who actually smile at you, and - most importantly - doesn't break the bank. Most of the drinks are $3.75-4.75 (+0.50 for pearls, etc). They also have a stamp card for a free 10th drink. read more

My favourite bubble tea place since I moved to this area. I usually order off of UberEats from them but occasionally I'll pop into the store. And they're open quite late into the night if you ever want some snacks as well. I usually order the Strawberry Banana Slush with pearls. I've also tried their Green Apple Slush and Lychee Slush as well which are pretty good. An interesting one to try is definitely the Avocado Smoothie since it's very creamy. Very friendly staff and the only place I really go to for bubble tea right now. They also have a stamp card as well! read more

Tried the coffee slush with pearls, it was good. I also tried the strawberry raspberry with pearls, it also was good. The boiled chive and pork dumplings were good. The time it took for an order was quite fast, 10 minutes or less. Takeout only. You can order ahead online. There is no seating. read more

Reasonably priced and this place doesn't only serve bubbletea...they have snacks too! Handmade dumplings and gyozas and various salty treats to complement your sweet drink. Open late and there's a stamp card available such that your 10th drink is free! read more

Poor quality drink with little ingredients and too much water. Competitors nearby have much better and quality drinks.

After a day of swimming with the kids at Aquamania in Richmond, they were hankering for some bubble tea on the way back to our friends house. We knew Granville had a decent selection and they had settled on Mr. Moustache. Bad news for MM, but Good for us though that because it was the Monday following a Stat Holiday, they were closed and we discoverd Bubble Bear Cafe! Its just 2 doors down from Mr. Moustache and we were greeted by the owners? She was super nice and patient as my kids were almost overwhelmed by the menu (remember we're from Calgary so this list is huge by our standards!). We settled on the "boring" watermelon slush X2, mango slush and a "out there" coconut milk tea :) Kids were hungry and we also ordered up their shrimp wonton with chili sauce. All the food and drinks arrived pretty promptly? 8 minutes maybe? but it was later in the evening, but there were people wandering in an out after us. Drinks: 2 thumbs up from my kids. My son inhaled the milk tea within minutes, while my daughter took the time to appreciate the flavors of the mango and my watermelon slush. Food: Wontons were excellent. A bit on the smaller side but definitely full of flavor! The chili oil (Homemade?) was amazing. It had a right amount of heat to it and had some substance to it and not just oil with a bunch of chili peppers in it Verdict: my kids want to go back today and im happy to oblige! And I forgot they have a stamp card so every 10th drink is free. read more

I've been going to Mr. Moustache on a regular basis and love their Macchiato. However, I always walk by Bubble Bear Cafe and was always hesitant to try it. One day my wife was ordering from Mr. Moustache and I finally caved in and walked into Bubble Bear Cafe. As a small business owner, I always want to support local businesses. I had very low expectations when I walked in. I ordered the staple milk tea and pearls. And when I had to pay, it was like $4.25. I was shocked by the low price. The owners were super duper nice and friendly and even saw their baby boy. As I sipped the bubble tea, it was actually delicious and great value. I was super surprised. The next day, I went back and got the oreo milkshake and it was also a hit and my wife got the pudding dessert it was also awesome. read more

We were driving through the area and I was craving bubble tea. So glad we found this little gem!! Everything we ordered was delicious and prices were so reasonable. First drink: fresh papaya milk with ice cream and pearls - less sugar. So good and we got a bonus little cup since there was a bit of extra slush. Second drink: fresh raspberry slush with lychee jelly - less sugar. Such a nice change from strawberry and just a little tart. Very refreshing. Third drink: fresh taro milk with pearls - half sweet. My father in law had this drink and said it was "different." He enjoyed it but said since it was fresh, the taro taste wasn't as concentrated as powder. Fourth drink: hot sesame coffee with pearls - no sugar. My mother in law had this drink and said it was fragrant with black sesame and a hint of coffee. We would definitely come back when we're in the area. Service is fast and friendly. Bonus - they're open until 11pm/12am. read more

Very good value, especially for the fresh fruit series. Fresh papaya slush with ice cream is a must try. However, the decorations for the place could be better. I think the atmosphere would be more modern by re-painting the interior to make it more visually appealing. read more

The owners are actually a Chinese couple and the wife always has really really friendly tone when I placed my order on the phone and she was very attentive with my special changes. And their drinks are very good in terms of value and it was perfect! Never had to wait very long and their customer service is good! The snacks are good I tried the Gyoza and the eggroll and both were very delicious! read more

A cute little cafe on Granville street. I'm a sucker for anything cute and the bear logo really drew me in. The cafe is small with a few tables and chairs. The inside looks a little outdated. There isn't any modern or fancy decor, but it gives off a very homey vibe. It is very orange! They have a variety of drinks - milk teas, green teas, slushes, etc. Prices are around $3.50-6. The drinks are decent and quite refreshing. The pearls are softer than other places like Chatime, but still chewy. The cafe is owned by a couple. It was empty when I came, but the owners are friendly and greeted me when I walked in. The lady was also very sweet. She recommended me to get half sugar for my drinks as she personally finds that most suitable for ladies. I appreciate the recommendation as my drink wasn't overly sweet and I like how I can taste the tea flavour. read more

The owner was really nice. I asked about the different teas available for the milk caps. He explained the the difference between each tea based on the lightness and how strong it is. I was curious about the old fashion and he told me it's a Taiwanese breakfast tea which is of medium taste. I decided to give it a try and it amazed me. No fancy cups but the tea tasted good and that's all that matters. read more

Bubble Bear seems to be family owned and the lady that served me was extremely pleasant and cheerful. There menu was gigantic and took me a while to actually decide what I wanted to try. I ordered a Grape Slush with Grape Jelly and my friend tried their Earl Grey Milk Cap. Both were delish - especially on a hot summer day! The Grape Slush had the perfect amount of sweetness, and the Milk Cap had this interesting salty foamy layer on top which pleasantly surprised me. Will definitely come back for another round! read more

A gem in Marpole. I prefer the standard, no-frills bbt (no cheese foam for me!) and this place does it right. With reasonable prizes and friendly owners, this is my go to bbt in the area, amidst the growing selection of "fancy" bbts in a one block radius. Their standard is a bit sweet so I prefer getting half sweet on my orders (typically a fresh fruit slush). read more

me and the boyfriend had some midnight cravings for taro slush we came 30 min before closing. i called in to place the order the lady was super friendly it came up to to only $4.65 i believe which is very decently priced and refreshing. I visit this place once a week and I prefer it 100% over the other nearby drink places. They are keeping things very safe during Covid by only providing window service. I need to try more flavours because I always get the pina colada, it's so good! The pearls are nice and chewy but often I forego the pearls so I can get more pina colada in my cup. read more

My new favorite bubble tea place. Great drink with good value. They have lots of drink choices. Must try Matcha Green Tea w/ red bean slush.

This place is actually not too far from where I live. If I get to marine drive station there is a bus that comes right up to 65th street. I had to go to the dollar store on the way and when I drove on the bus I saw their sign out and got off the bus a few stops early. I love the name so much so cute. Their style of Bubble Tea is the pearls and jellies on top versus on the bottom. You can still get the bottom kind on request. I went for something a little different and got some jellies. I had a mango one. Prices were good and the customer service was friendly. There is some seating inside. read more

On a Vacation in Vancouver and been craving boba so we changed upon this little place and boy was it a surprise. The owners were very nice and the boba was pretty well made. I got the Milky Pudding at first and I was floored. Creamy and hit the right amount of sweetness. It even reminded me of my own custards! My other friends were pretty much satisfied with their drinks as well so we went back and planning to go back before we fly back. Thanks for the great boba! read more

As an ultimate player, the game can get pretty intense. Thank goodness for Bubble Bear's BBT! I'm not a huge bbt drinker but this one definitely stands out from all the rest. The ice cold coffee drink I got was so rich and creamy, and it fueled me up for my game today. read more

In my honest opinion, this place is ok. Pricewise it is a bit lower than other bubbletea places. I had a jasmine tea with cream on top and I also tried their blueberry bubbletea. For the jasmine milk cap, I found the cream a bit bland (needs a bit more salt and thickness) and the tea itself didn't have much flavor. The blueberry bubbletea was average. Their wonton in chili sauce is small but I liked that it had peppercorn. The chinese pancake was ok as well. read more

Their strengths definitely lie with their bubble tea - never ever am I disappointed with their pearls or drinks.

A little gem in Vancouver. Friendly staff with a tasty and affordable bbt. Definitely a more affordable alternative to some of the more established and pricier shops in Vancouver. The only thing I think they can improve on is the tapioca pearls. It has a non spongy chewy texture. read more
