This place is small, so be prepared for a wait! The bar is first come first serve but there is still a wait with that as well. Despite the wait time, the staff is super friendly. You can grab a drink while you wait if you prefer, but there isn't seating while you wait. The drinks were aesthetically pleasing and taste great. The waffle was good but the shrimp and grits could use a bit more flavor. The other guests raved about the hibachi bowl, so I intend to try it next time I visit. read more

We were smart and went for brunch at 9am on a Saturday. The weekends can get packed with wait times up to 2 hours. It's not a huge place so keep your groups smaller. No reservations. Since it was still early, the staff was attentive and very helpful. Naomi is fantastic!!! So sweet and personable. The food came out so hot and fresh and bursting with flavor. The chicken and waffles was huge, coming with one large fluffy waffle and 2 chicken breast. The Carolina sunrise was so good with the perfect balance of sweet, savory and spicy with pimento cheese and hot honey. The hot honey does have a kick and I asked for it on the side. Finished every last drop and mixed with regular syrup for a touch more sweetness. I can't wait to go back and try their brunch shots and morning cocktails! read more

Went to check out Brunches after my husband's appointment. Very nice atmosphere with music playing. Very nice decor. The food was good. I ordered the chicken & waffles, which had a really nice size chicken breast that had a nice crust on it. I felt the waffle could've been better. Their home fries were good. My husband ordered what I believed to be a Cinnamon Pancake with turkey sausage and a side of eggs. I tasted his pancake and it was so good! The one star for the mimosa was because they put too much champagne in it, it was all I tasted. The service by our waitress Naomi was really good. Overall I'd definitely try them again! read more

The food, service and drinks were all fantastic at this spot but be prepared to wait because it is popular. We dined in and had to wait around 30 minutes. My mom and I both ordered a traditional mimosa with OJ (each mimosa is a half bottle of champagne for $9.25). Pineapple, strawberry, cranberry and peach are the other juice options. Fun and youthful vibe at Brunches in Cary Crossroads Shopping Center. We visited on a Friday morning late June thinking there wouldn't be a crowd. There was a crowd! We got there at a few minutes before 11a and got seated for our party of 5 at 1105a. Our waitress appeared quickly and had to return because we weren't ready to order. She got our drinks and we then ordered. Almost everything arrived about the same time and everyone was pleased. They may have been busy in that kitchen but our food was neatly plated and didn't appear to be rushed. Our waitress checked on us on several occasions as we needed butter and someone needed a condiment that wasn't on the table. In hindsight I was drinking water but never got a refill and my glass was empty before we left. I did notice it was pretty noisy in the restaurant and our table appeared to be the Grandmothers in the house. It was a young crowd and they came in groups ready to brunch. The food was warm and fresh. I had a veggie omelette with a bowl of grits. Not sure if the omelette had all the vegetables listed on the menu...seems like more eggs than anything. But it was flavorful. The grits were okay but needed lots of salt. Overall I was satisfied with my meal and good service. I will be visiting Brunches at some point in the future. read more

This is a solid place for brunch, the drinks are creative and delicious but the wait is typically long unless you arrive before 10am and the food is good but not impressive. The service is decent but never great. The eggs Benedict here are nothing special and underwhelming-the muffin is small- the cheese grits were okay. The Carolina sunrise is good but at times when I've ordered it it's had too much hot honey making the whole meal too sweet, the chicken biscuit supreme is pretty good but don't expect a homemade taste to any of the food. The only thing to rave about could be the drinks, the only thing I haven't enjoyed was their peach mimosa for it was too sweet or possible syrup tasting. Overall Brunches is a fun, cute spot in a good location would recommend if you can spot by early or if you're not super hungry and don't mind a wait. read more

This was our second time there. Honestly, the restaurant is dirty. The syrup sits on a cart outside of the bathroom, hostess sits on the floor behind the front desk, the bathrooms were disgusting, our plates had leftover food on them. Every single one of my kids spit the pancake out. It was not good. The bacon is old and cooked on a griddle with maybe rancid oil? I can't quite put my finger on it. You could barely bite through it. I think the eggs are from a carton and not fresh eggs. The salt shakers are all rice and no salt, why? Our food was served at lukewarm temperature. Service was fine, employees are super nice and helpful. Service was prompt. I'm not sure who is managing this restaurant but yikes. We won't be going back. read more

I arrived to an empty restaurant around 8:30 on a weekday morning. Pop music was blaring. I don't think I've ever eaten breakfast to TLC's No Scrubs cranked up to 10 before. My breakfast burrito was a great example of why over-the-top doesn't mean good. It came with 3 kinds of meat, cheese in the burrito, then smothered in queso. It was exceedingly salty. At first I thought the salt came from the ample serving of proteins, but in hindsight I think the cook gave my burrito a healthy dose of salt on top of the meats just for good measure. A simpler version of the burrito minus the queso and cured-meat overload would have been better, but probably more difficult for Brunches to justify the very steep $15.95 price. The high point of my meal were the home fries. They were served hot, tasty, and not over salted. Our server was helpful when she was around, but wasn't in the dining area very much. She got bonus points for giving the advertised early-bird discount without having to ask. Much of the staff seemed so engrossed in doomscrolling on their mobile devices to the point where it seemed a bit surreal watching them heads-down focused on their devices instead of the surrounding environment. The restaurant had lots of hard surfaces making it very acoustically live along with the loud music. All in all, Brunches seemed to cater more to a younger crowd than yours truly. The entire experience was just mediocre. There's better breakfast/brunch, minus the availability of alcohol, to be had at Brigg's, Big Ed's, or Angie's at a lower price. We dined here on a busy Saturday Morning, in the thick of the Holiday. After about a 20 minute wait my sister and I found a cozy seat at the bar, where we reviewed the menu and decided on a Strawberry Mimosa Carafe. We were just chatting when the bartender mentioned being able to get the Mimosas "loaded" and because we were here for a good time not a long time we decided to go for it. The loaded strawberry mimosa was a bottle of champagne, strawberry syrup and strawberry absolute. Once the drinks were flowing we decided on the following brunch items: The chicken supreme with a side of grits: a fluffy open-faced buiscuit topped with two crispy and well flavored chicken breast,a sausage gravy and two eggs of your choice. I chose an over medium egg for a runny yolk. The entire meal was delicious! The grits were a nice addition to accompany the extra chicken breast left over! Nutella French Toast with loaded grits: Now my sister is a bit weird, in the she doesn't really enjoy the Nutella so she didn't get that on there. Otherwise she mentioned that the French toast had a great flavor and texture. It was served with a few strawberries that looked like their life expectancy was over but as with the rest of the meal, everything was great. We ate and vibed out to the great music and enjoyed to kindness of the service staff. We enjoyed our time and will definitely plan to be back soon. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for brunch -- the mimosas are consistently amazing and definitely the reason I keep coming back! The vibe is always good and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. That said, during my last visit I did notice a few staff members step outside to greet a dog and then come right back in and start handling glasses and to-go containers without washing their hands. It stood out because it's not something I'd expect in a restaurant setting, and I hope it was just a one-off oversight. I've been waiting on Brunches to open for over a year now. Our family went today. I was worried that it would be slammed but there was no wait in Black Friday at 12:30 pm. I ordered a biscuits and gravy bowl with sausage and eggs over easy. It was really. Very filling and properly seasoned. My wife has the Eggs Benedict with a side of grits, which were creamy and perfectly seasoned. My daughter had the Nutella French Toast. The toast was coated with a cinnamon batter, which she didn't think went well with the Nutella taste. She had doubts that the topping was actually Nutella. I did order a mimosa since they were on sale for $2.95 this day. The glasses are very large, containing what they say is a half of a champagne bottle. It was very heavy on the champagne and didn't have much of a taste of orange. I thought it needed more fruit taste to offset the dry champagne. The vibe of the pace was good. It's loud with high ceilings. The music is barely audible with the noise, but is all over the place in genre. It's a good addition to Crossroads. We'll definitely be back. read more

I seriously hope the owner reads this. Almost all the plates are over $15. Okay, it's Cary, I'm willing and able to pay for a good breakfast. Mind you, I live an hour from the heart of Raleigh and have an abundance of great breakfast spots for half the price serving local ingredients. Whatever, wanted to take my Mother out and try something new. The food took forever on a quiet morning, and when it did show was absolutely atrocious. I'm no food blogger, but seriously. Everything was over cooked, and the turkey sausage links I swear are the same garbage Jimmy Dean links I microwaved in college. I ordered over easy eggs and they were rock hard. I could barely cut through the egg, and when I did, the whole yoke popped out and bounced. The bowl of grits were hard, and when I did poke through them they were like Elmer's glue. I didn't eat the eggs or grits. I was hungry and managed to eat half my pancakes after spraining my wrist trying to cut them (joking, but still). My mother's eggs benedict we couldn't cut through as well. Her bucket of home fry potato things were flavorless and just awful. Probably the only thing not overcooked. We both observed how awful the cutlery was. A nice place and the knives couldn't cut a bowl of pudding. Never in my life have I had such an awful breakfast that's SO EXPENSIVE. At this price point it should be pretty buttoned down. It's breakfast. How do you screw up breakfast that bad? You're marketing your establishment as a premium restaurant and it's absolutely despicable. The cook has no clue how to cook and when asked if a manager was in house conveniently there were no managers in store at the time. I will NEVER be back. This restaurant feels like a trust fund baby that wanted to start a restaurant and has absolutely no clue what they're doing. Again, I'm an average Joe, no food critic. The bus boy even criticizing the place! I work too hard to waste my time and money to listen to the employees trash the place and watch 75% of our meal go right in the trash. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Update: My stomach was in knots all afternoon and I wound up throwing up what I did eat at this place. Horrible, horrible, experience. $40.50 for a taste of sausage and half a stack or pancakes. My Mother barely touched her plate and got sick as well.
