I really wanted to love you Brunch Snob, but I could not. It is a lukewarm like due to the soggy, open faced carnitas omlette. To start, the wait was super short, and the service was okay. We felt ignored by our server a couple of times, but he always came over to us with a smile. To drink, we got a belini and their oki, which were both refreshing, a little sweet, but so good! We were admiring all of the drinks coming out of the kitchen as they were uniquely made and were super colorful and fun! To eat I ordered their open faced carnitas omelet with the potatoes on the side and sourdough bread. My friend got their big Snob breakfast with a pancake. They accidentally brought my friend bacon along with her turkey sausage, so she gave that to me. The bacon had a nice hint of sweetness and was crispy. My omelet came out just as described--open faced. The carnitas, avocado, and crema sat in the middle of a very sad and thin egg. As I dived in, I noticed a lack of flavor and super runny juice coming from the carnitas. It was like the meat was not drained at all. Also, it lacked a lot of flavor and spice, so I was so glad that they had cholula at the table. It came with salsa, but it did not really help. The best part of my meal was the bacon, toast, and potatoes. Maybe I am a little bit of a snob when it comes to my food as I feel like the quality of the food does not meet the hype--especially since the waiter mentioned the carnitas is smoked in house?!? Maybe I should've tried something different. After this experience, I am not sure I will be back as there are so many other brunch spots in the area. read more

The restaurant was absolutely with great with nice setting. The cozy atmosphere and welcoming staff set the tone for a perfect morning. The menu was packed with mouthwatering options. I ordered the Crazy Clucker and it was heavenly, perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and beautifully plated. It has good portion. The coffee was definitely fantastic too. The coffee was good and taste nice flavor with good aroma. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing. read more

Super friendly staff and great service! Food was pretty good -- cinnamon roll pancakes were lush, breakfast burrito was decent as well, but the spicy potatoes could've used a little more kick. Cute decor too. I'm gonna ding 'em on the restrooms; "sausages and eggs", are we still doing that? I know it's Arizona, so I don't know what I expected, but hey. (Also eggs in Spanish...never mind). Overall, cute spot for the ladies who brunch. They even have mocktails for sober girlies! read more

Our service here was really great. We did have to wait 30 minutes because it was so busy but I can understand why! I'd wait an hour to eat here again, that's how much I enjoyed it! We started with a HUGGGGGE shareable cinnamon roll. OMG it was so fluffy, warm and delicious with cream cheese icing. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they use cream cheese frosting because it's not sickening sweet. It's so perfectly sweetened that isn't overboard. My son doesn't eat seed oils and the chefs were very accommodating and cooked some eggs without any margarine or oil for him. I was really grateful! The pricing is AMAZING for the QUALITY and QUANTITY of food you receive. EVERYTHING we tried was so delicious that we need to come back a few more times to try more dishes on the menu. My only qualm is the crafts single or McDonald's looking cheese they used on the crazy clucker. Like what the cluck? lol No honestly this place is amazing and everyone needs to try it! The ambiance in here is so fun and inviting! It's definitely a great location for a bachelorette brunch. read more

First time in Phoenix and found this spot of course on yelp... the atmosphere out the gate is amazing ... the patio gave off a great vibe and the weather was perfect ... my waitress Mya was very inviting and as able to answer all questions and make suggestions to make ordering easy. Since I just landed and been traveling my day started with the morning margarita ... it was mad perfectly and was made very quickly also ... for my meal I ordered the GTD Tots loaded minus the bacon. They were different and exceeded expectation the potatoes. Were formed in the see balls that were fried covered in queso tossed in chives with a spicy ranch... also I ordered the snob special soft shell crab Benedict ... disclaimers if you can deal with the crab shell don't order. As for me though... this was bussin ... could have been hotter but that minor cause the overall taste also exceeded expectation . And if you have read my other reviews I like my egg intact so I can buss it and it was ... def worth the visit and a good find for my first day in Phoenix ... major S/O to Mya for making this a dope experience read more

The service was friendly, and the restaurant had a good vibe--lots of people, lots of energy. But as for the food? Let's just say it's a one-time experience for me. I started with the brisket taco, which was... well, let's just say I wouldn't recommend it. And if you do try it, for the love of all things neat and tidy, skip the over-easy egg--unless you enjoy wearing your breakfast. That thing exploded like a water balloon, and good luck eating it without turning your hands into a sticky mess. The cinnamon roll French toast was the only saving grace. Not amazing, but at least it didn't require a post-meal shower. Oh, and the hash browns? McDonald's does them better. read more

I've been here twice now and have not been disappointed. Warning: There will be a wait. This place has gotten off to a great start and is very popular. It's worth the wait, though, so hang in there... The first time I had the "Crazy Clucker" and today, the "Softshell Crab Benedict", both were excellent. The Crazy Clucker is a fried chicken thigh on a biscuit with cheese and sausage gravy. Delightful! I'm very picky about my sausage gravy and this is really good. Unless you like really spicy, get the hash browns, the home fries are HOT! All the servers are friendly and attentive and the coffee is pretty good. On our first visit, the owners came to check on us and that was nice. My only complaint is that it is a little bit noisy in there, but I will be back since this is my new favorite breakfast place! read more

Brunch Snob is a super poppin breakfast spot in the southern part of Phoenix, and it is the ultimate brunch stop on a Sunday morning. I made it in today with my lovely girlfriend, sister, mom, and my grandma, and we had a good old time with some amazing food. My grandma treated us and I was glad to spend some time with her. I ordered a caramel iced coffee which was yummy but it went down quickly and it had plenty of ice in a smaller glass. For my entree, I got the seared scallop Benedict which was quite honestly the most delectable breakfast I've had in awhile. It hit home on the savory brunch cravings I was having and I was pretty thrilled about it. I ate the entire thing, left no crumbs, no takeout box necessary. Everybody else around the table seemed to be enjoying their food as well. My girlfriend got the half waffle with toast, scrambled egg and hash browns, and she ate the waffle and the majority of her sides. We had a male server but I did not catch his name, but he was great overall, nice and attentive. I've come here once before, and the boobies on the bathroom wall always give me a good chuckle. Overall this place has a cool vibe and they have great decorations, including a really dope mural of Vincent Vega and Jules from Pulp Fiction. Their chairs all have fun descriptions on the backs of them, and the place is decked out with some large TVs if you want to watch sports here. Overall, this place has very solid picks across the board on its menu, and it's not too steep for your pockets, always a fun brunch stop if you ever decide to come to the area. If not, there's always one in Chandler too. read more

Wow! Where to start. First, Amazing, second overwhelming. While the plethora of brunch/breakfast items was amazing it also made it difficult to make a choice. Highly recommend the Mimosa Flight! The Cajun flavoring on the Cajun Shrimp Omelet could do with just a little more. I was left wanting more from as Cajun is an unmistakable flavor and it just didn't quite do it for me. This was our first time trying Brunch Snob in Phoenix, on a Sunday morning after completing some errands. We arrived a bit late in the day at 2 PM and they close at 3 PM. I think we missed the Sunday morning rush and felt the hectic energy and saw a lot of the mess left over from that. We were sat immediately at a long table with high chairs near the front window, and served drinks right away. Our waitress was super friendly and let us know that the brisket is made daily in the back and is one of the customer favorites. Our first half hour there we were really overheating, maybe because we were near the window. I think the staff turned the AC down halfway through our meal which was really a relief and gave me more of an appetite. The restaurant decor is adorable and cheeky and the waiters and waitresses wear snarky, witty T-shirts that read for example, "Champagne in the Membrane", "Resting Brunch Face", & "You Caught us Bottomless". The selfie station has a yellow neon sign that reads "Come and get your love" above a black bench and a comfortable black egg chair draped in pink flowers. All high chairs have nicknames painted on their backs. I got "Hottie" today - Lol, I'll take it. There's patio and indoor seating, a full bar and cafe, restrooms and many brunch and lunch menu items. We ordered: - Hot Vanilla Oat Latte - Hot Oat Latte - Princess Snob Cocktail (hold the rum) (Comes with a cloud of cotton Candy & a princess tiara!) - Celene's Favorite Brisket Sandwich & Hashbrowns - Big Ass Burger & Fries - Veg Out Benedict & Hashbrowns The coffee is excellent here. I loved the cocktail. It was sweet and peachy and very easy going down. Of course I put on my tiara for the day as soon as I was served. Hubs loved the burger. My daughter said her Benedict was very good. read more

Service was good. We were seated quickly and the wait staff tended to our beverage and food order quickly. Food came in a quick, timely manner. Eggs were done well. Only area of consideration was the blandness of the food. The egg sandwich was on brioche, egg bread that was toasted but very dry. The cheese was placed on the sandwich and not even melted. Highlights were the egg being cooked as requested and the tarot tots. The build your own omelet was a hit as was the coffee. Although it wasn't perfect, I would return for a relaxing breakfast/brunch in a laid back and comfortable environment. read more

First, I want to say that my husband and I love the Brunch Snob! We always try to eat here whenever we are in town (we live 1 hour north). So my reason for the poor review is that we ordered the Smoked Brisket Breakfast Tacos and the The Ultimate Philly sandwich with onion rings and that's where the negative review comes in. I was not very hungry at the restaurant and only ate half of one taco so I took them home. My breakfast tacos had one strip of cold jerky bacon and no brisket which I didn't realize until I got home. What is worse, my husband developed a terrible stomach-ache with GI upset within 2 hours of his Philly Cheese steak meal. At this time we are not sure we will be back to this Brunch Snob again. We are saddened by this because we used to love the food!! read more

The staff was really friendly! I loved that part. The mimosa flights were a let down, and I've never been let down by a mimosa. I don't know what kind of bubbly was in them but it wasn't giving. We forced ourselves to drink them anyway, the food wasn't bad, but like I truly didn't love it bc I didn't even bother to get a box to wrap up my leftovers and I ALWAYS box up my leftovers anywhere. I wanted to love this place because of the people and the smiles, but I don't think I would return or recommend. I've had so many better brunch dates. The country fried bacon or whatever that battered bacon is called was lit though. If you find yourself here, order that with the gravy it comes with!! I had been looking forward to visiting this place for years, but when I finally went, I couldn't believe how long the line was. I thought the food would be exceptional, but to my disappointment, it was far from it. The place is definitely overrated. The service was snobby, and the food was bland. They couldn't even make a decent pancake or serve a good cup of coffee. I'm really let down, and it's not a welcoming spot, especially for families with kids, given the profanity and graffiti all over. I had high hopes after reading Yelp reviews before we came, but what a disappointing brunch! I do want to start by saying, this place is super cute, the ambiance is great, and every single staff member we interacted with was great. (Like, really great! Attentive, pleasant, and friendly, no mistakes in service whatsoever. And so apologetic about the bad food, even though it wasn't their fault at all. Give those folks a raise!!) Unfortunately, half the food we ordered was not good at all. My sister and I both got different eggs Benedict dishes (brisket for my sis, and veg out for me), and they were both so bland and lukewarm, that they were inedible. The spicy potatoes were also soft, barely warm, and had the texture of something that had been sitting under a buffet lamp for hours. My nephews enjoyed their dishes, both involving fried chicken, which they said was still hot and crunchy from the fryer. The fries one of my nephews got were also hot and fresh, unlike anything else we were served. So bummed that the food there was just not for me, but I wish nothing but the best for everyone working there. read more

There's a lot of spots for improvement here, but I'd also say that Lylo is one of the few businesses I've ever seen do such a visually-great escape out from their pool area. If you're here for the escape and temper your expectations for food or drink, I think you'd have a good time. There are a TON of mosquitos here, so prepare accordingly. The bar and hotel lobby didn't have bug spray nor any for sale. The nearby liquor store does have some for sale at less than a block's walk. (The pool is hot mid Phoenix summer. The pool itself felt closer to a hot tub than a refreshingly cold pool. I'm told this is normal for pools in Arizona in the summer.) PROS: -All of the drinks are really pretty, visually, and with the pool, you have a great mecca for social media photos. -Despite the ridiculous 110+ Phoenix heat, we were relatively comfortable in the shaded restaurant area with the misters. We could still see the pool, but we weren't baking alive. -Pool bathrooms were clean enough. There were lots of puddles and toilet paper on the ground, but nothing was horrific or moldy like some pool bathrooms can be. Spacious stalls for changing too - though I didn't see any shower or changing areas. -The pool area itself is pretty! It makes for gorgeous Instagram photos, and Lylo knows that. There are lots of little spots (a camp sign, a chair off on its own, all the loungers, etc.) that make cute photo backdrops in addition to the pool itself. -There is a collection of inflatable pool toys in the corner that seem to be open for guest use. CONS: -Water bottles are not allowed at all - not even sealed disposable plastic ones from the grocery store. They'll store them for you, and you can fetch your own water with disposable plastic cups while you're here. -The misters in the pool area were broken. With the heat, we chose not to actually use the pool, and instead stayed in the restaurant, shaded area with misters. -All of the on-menu drinks are pretty sweet and not super boozy (at their price points). It's easy to go through quite a few at their higher price. Make sure that you're spending intentionally. -We weren't in love with the food we ordered. It felt like frozen food reheated and served to us. To be fair, that's about to be expected from a pool bar, but it was still something to note at the prices and with nearby restaurants walkable. -Service is there. I wouldn't say it was friendly or welcoming, but the servers checked in often in-between talking to people in swimsuits or joking with friends. I rarely waited for anything, but I didn't feel like a valued guest. -The fabric of the chaise loungers and lounge beds are stained. I saw some employees hauling off some of them and shoving them into the back of a fabric cleaning van, so I'd assume they rotate in and out and have to deal with a ton of spilled drinks.

I arrived a bit before 6 to find it closed, no sign on the door and nothing online stating it had closed. So we headed downtown to the second location. I arrived about 6:10 pm and was asked if I had a reservation. I explained that we went to the other location only to find it closed and when we called the only number on the website to make a reservation (earlier in the day), no one answered the phone. We called multiple times. The guy at the door informed us the other location had closed and he couldn't seat us until 8 pm unless we wanted to sit at the bar. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager there. A restaurant should always have a manager or someone on site empowered to address customer concerns. We agreed to sit at the bar. First we ordered cocktails for $17 each. While they were tasty and refreshing, they had virtually no alcohol. I ordered the Kra Pow and, on the server's recommendation, chose the pork belly. My friend ordered the Pad Ki-Mao with pork belly. After waiting 30-45 minutes for the food, it finally arrived. Mine was dry pieces of pork belly, dry rice, an egg and three cucumber slices, no sauce whatsoever. When I asked for sauce, I was offered soy sauce and hot chili. My friend's noodles were tasty, but she also thought her pork belly was dry. The server, who was also the host and bartender didn't check in on us a single time during our meal. Between the outdated website, unanswered phone, lack of management and service, long wait and underwhelming food and drinks, the entire experience was extremely disappointing. I expected much more from this place.

The self-appointed king of speakeasies is back at it with another one. Located in the Melrose part…read moreof Phoenix, I checked out Bar 1912 after having dinner at Valentine (hint, hint: the speakeasy is located inside the restaurant). They have a small parking lot, but it's free and I was able to find a spot on a Friday evening. Ambiance (2.5/5): Speakeasies are known for their sophistication and for their hidden entry. Bar 1912 isn't much of a mystery. There are two entry points. Either a door in the back of the restaurant or a hallway inside the restaurant that's relatively easy to find as there isn't a door or anything in between the restaurant and the speakeasy. Our waiter took us there after our meal. Bar 1912 is nice, but just about average in terms of ambiance compared to other speakeasies. Part of the reason is that it's very loud (seats 30 people or so) and all of the seating at the bar are back-less bar stools (which I personally hate due to my back). I would have preferred to sit on the various couches/sofas next to the bar. Service (4.5/5): Friendly, attentive service. Exactly what you hope for when you're grabbing a drink (especially when they take a little longer to make due to their sophistication). You're provided with water without asking which is always a nice touch. I had to grab the bartender's attention once or twice, but outside of that, a job well done. Food (N/A); Since I had dinner at Valentine prior, I skipped food here. They have a small menu consisting mostly of appetizers (many, but not all, which are offered at Valentine). One option which isn't at Valentine, but which piqued my interest is the Sonoran hot dog. Had I been hungry, it would've been a no brainer. They have four or so desserts on the menu, and I had room for dessert, but none of them seemed appetizing. Drinks (4/5): When I'm at a speakeasy, I look for creativity and an interesting blend of ingredients. You certainly have that here. There's a focus on Native American and Hispanic influences here, which is pretty cool, and fitting since we're in Phoenix and everything. I tried two cocktails, one was a hit and one was a miss. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to cocktails, and I know what I like, so I rarely miss. Unfortunately, it happened here. With that being said, I tried some liqueurs I had never had before which is awesome. And I enjoyed the cocktail menu. This isn't the type of spot you'll find an Espresso Martini...thankfully. With a couple of tweaks, Bar 1912 could be in line with some of my favorite speakeasies in town.

Here's a Short-cut summary: Exceptional food! Exceptional service! Cute place!…read more We dined here on a Sunday morning, late in September, in the year of our Lord, 2026...and It really was exceptional and memorable. Every beverage, and every entre' had layers of subtle flavor that had us all raving and passing around spoon and fork-fulls of samples that we shared together. My daughter had the breakfast sandwich and it was great (*beyond great, actually). I had just eaten the free breakfast offered at the hotel we stayed at last night, so only ordered the tomato salad (it had a catchy name that I think had something to do with a Bloody Mary, but I didn't take notes and my buhh...buhh...brain is not as sharp as it used to be, so I could be completely wrong about the name. Ask the staff and I bet they will know what I am refering to. It was fantastic and had others at a neighboring table asking what it was and how it was (I gave the "oh my gawd this is soooo good' eyebrows) to indicate that is was to kill or die for. Finally, my wife went for the mashed avocado toast selection, and I can honestly say that the bite I took to sample it was enough to have me come to the conclusion that it was the best avocado toast that I have ever had. When our waiter checked on how we were doing, the conversation lead to his sharing that almost all the offerings at VALENTINE are made with near-by farm to table ingredients. I hinted at how pleasant the beverages that we ordered were. Our waiter (who goes by the name, Jake and was super-personal, professional and caring) suggested the Cajeta Latte. I have never been let down by suggestions from staff at restaurants, so that was my choice. Muy Bueno! My daughter did the same, except that she went low and I went high (regarding temperature of the drink). My wife ordered a chai and kept saying how good it was as she sipped hers throughout the meal. To summarize, this place is fantastic and if you like food that is made by those with love of cooking in their souls--who appear to take joy in "wowing" others as they dine, VALENTINE should be put on your culinary bucket list. So stop reading this review and get your butt into one of their booths. Oh, I almost forgot... we had a pastry as a brunchy dessert after our late breakfast. I cannot recall exactly which one my wife and daughter selected, but it was really good. If you take a peek at the area where they keep their pastries, you will see that they all look amazing. And, based on the pastry that we sampled, I would bet my bottom dollar every one of those pastries you are looking at would taste great and satisfying.

It looked busy but not so busy, and we were seated immediately. We didn't get an introduction to a server. Our drinks were served right away, and a gentleman we thought was our server took our order. We told him we'd never been there, and he walked us through the menu, shared recommendations, and gave us a lot of attention. He brought our appetizers, checked how they tasted, and helped us order dinner. Someone else brought dinner, which was fine, though in hindsight we wondered where we'd done something wrong. We enjoyed dinner and each other's company so much that we hadn't realized nobody had visited us for 51 minutes after dinner arrived. We thought our server had forgotten us, but we saw him covering nearby tables without making eye contact with us for the rest of the evening. The woman who'd taken our drink order and seated us cleared our plates. We asked for the bill. She said sure, made an awkward face (didn't seem pleased), nodded, and walked away. We watched her fill drinks and clear tables, but not get our bill. The gentleman continued servicing nearby tables without returning or looking our way, almost seeming to avoid eye contact. We were both staring, and not a peep in our direction. He'd been attentive before dinner, but after that--nada. I have a time stamp because I photographed dinner when it arrived. We hoped to enjoy a sweet treat for our anniversary, but with no menu or attention, we figured we should go. We'd already been there an hour after dinner arrived. I finally stood at the counter, where we'd seen others get attention, and was ignored. After about two minutes, I stood next to the party being attended until "our" server looked at me. I asked, "Aren't you our server?" He looked me directly in the eye and said, "no, I'm not." I was baffled, given he'd attended us all evening. He said, "tonight we're doing a Group service, so that's possibly why there was confusion." I felt a little gaslit being told he wasn't our server when he had been. I said OK, no problem, we'd like our bill to head out, could he help? Only then did he apologize for missing the mark. He mentioned the team being busy and the printers not working, rambled, and apologized. The woman we'd asked almost 20 minutes earlier came to the host station, avoided eye contact, grabbed something, and stepped away. He offered to remove our drinks--my partner had only a beer and sparkling water--saying, "maybe it can help soften the blow." I said that's all right, though he did not remove them. He gave us the bill. I think this was the first time I didn't leave a cash tip, regrettably. One of the worst service experiences I've had at dinner with my partner. The ambience was nice--it's giving evening romance. It looked busy, but not so busy you couldn't attend a table. Nearby tables received service, check-ins, refills, and bussing. I had much higher hopes. Let's talk food. I had the Hamachi. He might have tried to talk me out of it, to his credit, but my partner had tasty hamachi elsewhere and I was excited for good fish. The flavor was good, but it was overcooked and not as tender as it could've been. The dish was unique, but I don't think the flavors blended well: a slightly sweet vinegar salad, green chili sauce underneath, and a crispy shell on the fish. Together, they didn't complement well. I should've listened. He said other dishes were more preferred and ordered, and one guest had ordered it and left unpleased. My partner's elote pasta we enjoyed. The crispy corn, the pasta texture, Parmesan, subtle flavors, and tasty sauce combined beautifully. The noodles were cooked perfectly, so that was finished. We very much enjoyed the pretzel!! It was his suggestion, and we complimented it to him, talking about how delicious and magical it was: almost crispy outside, a teeny hint of sweet but savory, and so soft inside it almost melted in your mouth. The soft whipped butter and honeycomb square were delightful. All three together were delectable! We also enjoyed the baby salad and baby radishes. The dressing was perfect, with a Caesar hint and some sweetness; the pepitas were yummy. My partner isn't a big salad fan, but tried it and said it was really good. Dinner was $116. We were mostly happy with the meal. Service brings this review down. I'd rate food 3 1/2 stars; it wasn't out of this world. I have no desire to return. I can't tell you if they offer dessert; perhaps there's another menu we weren't offered. The bar in back, 1912 - great drinks. We could've enjoyed liquid dessert but were done after being ignored. The patio looks divine! Note how "busy" our photos look: plenty of empty spots and at least eight front-of-house staff who didn't help.

For quite a few months, I had it on my list to visit. I finally made things happen on a Wednesday evening for a drink. Located on the roof (of course) of a boutique hotel, I find free parking in the hotel's parking lot. While it was a busy parking lot, I was able to find a spot. Unfortunately, my night consisted of a comedy of errors. Ambiance (3/5): When you think best rooftop in the state, you're thinking scenic and peaceful views. Don Woods' certainly has that, though I've seen better in Phoenix. You can see the mountains in the background, but that's about it. The hotel is located on a busy street, where you'll often hear the noise of cars buzzing by or the train choo-chooing. Did I just make up a word?! I imagine the best time to stop by is during sunset. The outdoor area is relatively narrow with seating for about 20-30 people. It's a mix of comfortable seats and tables/chairs. There's also a charming indoor area, where the bar is located, but I felt like I had to sit outside. The weather was perfect, too. Service (2.5/5): This is where the comedy of errors began. I was given a menu and some water and was left to peruse the menu. Before the waitress had returned, I had picked out an appetizer and a cocktail. I then discovered that their cook had quit the other week and as a result, no food was available. That's fine and all, but you've gotta give me a heads-up when giving me the menu. That way, I wouldn't have spent the time to look over the food menu and get my heart set on a particular dish. On a better note, they have free WiFi. And service was overall friendly and pretty efficient. Food (N/A): While I was unable to order some food, on most nights, they have a small menu of small plates. More of a snack type of spot then a full meal type of establishment. Drinks (3/5): Don Woods is know for its cocktails and they have a list of 10 or so craft cocktails. Plus, beer, wine, and the typical options that you would find when there's a full bar. I feel like the bartender messed up the proportions on my cocktail as it was a bit rough. One drink and I was out. It seems like Don Woods' is experiencing some turnover which is leading to some mishaps. Combine that with some high expectations given the accolades they won, and it was the recipe for a disaster. I love a good rooftop bar, so I was hoping for more at Don Woods' Say When. Even the lobby of the hotel was experiencing issues. They sell popsicles in the lobby but the guy temporarily manning the front desk didn't know how to get their Square device working. Which ended up meaning no appetizers for me at Don Woods and no popsicles from the lobby. Two strikes. We live to fight another day.

(1 Star) DO NOT GO TO BRUNCH SNOB IF YOU WANT TO BE TOLD TO "SHUT THE F* UP" FOR ASKING A SIMPLE QUESTION.** My wife and I drove 35 minutes to Brunch Snob because we've already been to just about every brunch spot in Scottsdale and wanted to try something different. After reading the reviews, we thought this would be a great place to spend our Saturday morning. Before leaving, I joined the restaurant's online waitlist. Their system gave us an estimated seating time between 11:03 AM and 11:13 AM, so we immediately made the drive expecting the restaurant to honor the time provided by its own website. Instead, we were told we wouldn't be seated because the restaurant decided to accommodate a party of 30 that called after we had already joined the waitlist and after we had already arrived. Despite arriving first and following their process exactly as instructed, we lost our place in line so they could prioritize the larger party. If your online waitlist doesn't actually hold a customer's place in line, then don't offer one. We politely walked back to the host stand and asked one simple question: "Why provide customers with a seating window if you have no intention of honoring it?" That question turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The employee we initially believed was the manager--but later learned was actually a host--immediately became defensive and confrontational. Instead of explaining the situation or apologizing, he started arguing with us in front of a lobby full of customers. Within minutes, he was yelling at us, telling both my wife and me to "shut up" and "be quiet." Then he looked directly at me and told me to "shut the f* up."** Think about that for a second. A restaurant employee thought it was acceptable to tell paying customers to "shut the f* up"** because they asked why the restaurant wasn't honoring its own waitlist. I asked to speak with the manager, expecting someone to step in, calm the situation down, and address what had just happened. Instead, she approached with an attitude and asked, "What do you want me to do?" She then offered to seat us. By then, the damage had already been done. After being publicly yelled at, cursed at, and completely disrespected, there was absolutely no way we were going to sit down and trust that we would have a pleasant dining experience. The saddest part is that this entire situation could have been avoided with a simple apology and a professional explanation. Restaurants get busy. Delays happen. Most customers understand that. What customers should never have to accept is being treated this way for asking a reasonable question. Ironically, my wife is a local content creator who regularly features restaurants throughout Arizona. We had every intention of enjoying brunch, creating content, and sharing Brunch Snob with our audience. One of her recent restaurant videos generated more than 253,000 views. Instead of receiving positive exposure, this restaurant earned this review because of the way we were treated. The food may be amazing--I honestly wouldn't know because we never got the opportunity to find out. We drove 35 minutes because of Brunch Snob's reputation, followed their process exactly as instructed, and instead of being welcomed, we were skipped in line and told to "shut the f* up."** That isn't hospitality. It's a complete customer service failure. We will never return. read more

4/5 Brunch Snob in Phoenix is a brunch haven that's earned a top spot on our must-visit list, delivering a fantastic experience with just a couple of quirks. The ability to join the waitlist remotely was a total lifesaver, letting us skip the tedious wait for a table and slide right into the action. The atmosphere inside is lively and welcoming, with a warm vibe that instantly puts you at ease. If you're craving some fresh air, the outdoor seating is a stellar option, perfect for enjoying Phoenix's sunny charm. The food here is nothing short of spectacular. My biscuits and gravy were pure perfection: the biscuits were fluffy, soft, and practically dissolved on the tongue, topped with a succulent sausage gravy that was rich, savory, and downright delectable. The portion? Absolutely massive, leaving me stuffed and happy. My partner's Eggs Benedict, paired with spicy potatoes (hot tip: ask for them well done for that ideal crispy crunch), was a standout, solidifying its place as one of our go-to favorites. I went for the chilaquiles with a barbacoa substitution, and wow--what a flavor explosion. Paired with hash browns that hit the perfect balance of soft and crispy, every bite was a delight. Each dish was crafted with care and bursting with taste. The restroom decor, though, was a bit of an oddball--quirky to the point of feeling like an acquired taste, but it didn't overshadow the experience. Service was perfectly fine, nothing extraordinary but no complaints either. The staff kept things running smoothly, and we left with big smiles. Brunch Snob knocked it out of the park with phenomenal food and a great vibe, and that remote waitlist is the cherry on top. We're already counting down the days until our next visit to this Phoenix gem! read more

I was shocked by how horrible my dining experience was this morning, especially considering I've had great experiences here during their busy weekend rush. Today, the restaurant was half-empty, yet the service was atrocious. Our server seemed completely preoccupied with the patio and barely acknowledged our table. She only stopped by to take our order and drop off the bill. I had to literally wave her down to ask why our "mimosas" tasted flat and disgusting. That's when I learned they're not even made with champagne--it's just white wine mixed with orange juice, which feels like blatant false advertising, especially at $25. A mimosa should contain the proper ingredients, and this substitution was both disappointing and misleading. Things only got worse from there. The syrup brought out for my three pancakes was half-empty, and since our server was too busy adjusting patio chairs to check on us, I had to get up, walk to the bar, and wait for her just to get more syrup. This level of neglect was beyond frustrating. As for the food, the pancakes were mushy and doughy--not at all what I expected from a place that's known for brunch. For a restaurant that wasn't even busy, this experience was far below the standard I've come to expect. Sadly, after this disappointing visit, I don't think I'll be returning. I hope they take these issues seriously and work on improving their service and quality. read more

We were in the mood for something different for breakfast and had heard about this place nestled between Ace Hardware and Bashas. Upon arrival, it was a bit busy, and we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The seating area was quite spacious, with options for both indoor and outdoor dining. As first-time visitors, we decided to explore a variety of dishes. We began with the Princess Snob, a delightful drink topped with Cotton Candy. For the main course, we tried the Hillsbery Scramble, Chilaquiles, Grandma Mary's Biscuits & Gravy, and Short Stack. The scramble was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the Biscuits & Gravy, while the Chilaquiles had a satisfying heat. These dishes stood out as the stars of the meal. However, the pancakes and syrup were okay; I was hoping for a bit more flavor, as pancakes are my "go-to" breakfast item, and I tend to be a bit particular about them. Our server, Grace, provided excellent service. Overall, it was a delightful meal. read more

Had an amazing experience at Brunch Snob in Phoenix! From the moment we were seated, our server Candace made us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. She was incredibly personable, addressed us by name, and made the whole experience feel warm and personalized. What really stood out was how accommodating she was with menu modifications--nothing was too much trouble, and she handled every request with a smile. Her professionalism and easygoing nature really enhanced our visit. The food was fantastic--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they put out, and the overall vibe of the place is relaxed yet refined. All around, a top-notch experience. If you're in Phoenix and looking for a spot that delivers both excellent service and great food, Beunch Snob is a must-visit. And if you can, ask for Candace--you won't be disappointed! read more

The restaurant had such a fun, quirky vibe! The theme felt refreshingly unique, and I loved the playful touches like the wall art and chairs with words like 'flirty' and 'sexy.' It was amusing when the host struggled to pronounce my name, but that just added to the lighthearted atmosphere. The staff and service were excellent--attentive and friendly throughout. The food was absolutely delicious, with the standout being the Big Ass Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It's definitely a sugar rush, and true to its placement under the 'Sweet Tooth' section of the menu, they give you fair warning! It was so good, I'm already craving it again. If we make another trip back to AZ, this place will definitely be on our list to revisit. read more

The pleasant and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a perfect start to the day. This is one of best restaurant for breakfast. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles and offered top-notch service throughout our meal. The food was fantastic, we ordered the Chicken Fried Bacon, and everything was cooked to perfection. The eggs were well-done, the bacon crispy, and the toast were some of the best we've ever had light, golden, and just the right amount of sweet. Rich coffee were the perfect complements to our meal. The attention to detail, cozy ambiance, and quality ingredients really stood out. This place knows how to do breakfast right. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious, satisfying breakfast! read more

We had such a wonderful experience here thanks to Lee! He was attentive, warm, and inviting from the moment we arrived. He took great care of my aunt, my 11-month-old son, and me, making sure our requests were met quickly (which is so helpful when dining out with a baby!). Lee's thoughtful and prompt service really made our visit special. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was welcoming, and you can tell this is a small business that truly cares about its customers. We love supporting local spots like this, and we would highly recommend both Lee and this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. read more

This is the best breakfast place I've tried in the area. The portions are generous, the food comes out hot and fresh, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Had an opportunity to go here after hearing a bunch of good reviews from friends had the chili Achilles and they must say they were quite disappointing soggy from the moment they showed up flavor was lacking for the price. Since it's the weekend, we tried to get there early, around 8:30am, to beat the crowds. Luckily, we did. When we arrived, there were plenty of tables open and we were quickly seated. First impressions: The vibes are really nice. The decor is very aesthetic and picturesque. The staff were really nice. Since it was our first time, they guided us through the menu and went over their seasonal items. I ordered a Classic Breakfast and a Banana Walnut Latte. My fiancée ordered the Lydia's Seasonal Scramble and a Vanilla Waffle Cone latte. We shared a stack of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. We were very impressed with the taste of the food. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were crispy and flavorful. The pancakes were absolutely delicious! Probably some of the best we've had. The lattes were okay. Overall, it was a nice experience. We'd definitely go back.

My friend was finishing her pancakes and said she wanted to order something else to eat at the table. When she tried to order more, the server immediately responded, "Oh, to go?" Shortly afterward, the server and hostess were standing together and repeatedly looking directly at our table, which made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. Because of the pressure we kept feeling to leave, we asked whether there was a time limit on reservations. We were told there was not and that they were actually slower than normal, which made the repeated pressure to leave even more confusing and disappointing. We had also brought in 2 gifts and wanted to open them while celebrating, the server suggested that we could go across the way to Berdena's to do that instead and she would close us out. That really reinforced the feeling that they wanted us to finish up and leave rather than enjoy our time there. The decor is cute and the space itself is lovely, but we came to celebrate a birthday and expected to be able to sit, eat, talk, open gifts, and enjoy our time without feeling like we were taking up space. Sadly, that was not our experience. I don't think I'll be back.

We ended up ordering the Crispy Chorizo & Potato tacos and the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon to share. The tacos were good; they are filled with whipped potatoes and chorizo, but the biscuits and gravy were just basic biscuits and gravy.
