Seated immediately upon our entry. Service and food were both good. Loved the ambience and the pictures on the wall, all of which showed why Brooklyn is called Brooklyn. Diversity in culture and acceptance of who we are as individuals. Me: Waffles, bacon and a fried egg. Them: Pancakes, bacon and fried egg. Thé waffle was crispy with just the right amount of sweetness, the bacon flavorful and the egg fried just right. Them said thé pancakes were nice and fluffy but refused to eat them all to save room for later. If in the area I highly suggest stopping by, and if I am ever back in Portugal I will do the same. I give this place four yumms up and a is Brooklyn in The House #Hella!!

First breakfast in Lisbon was at Brooklyn and it hit the spot just right. I got the bulgur pilaf with a fried egg, and decaf latte. Shared the halloumi fries, too. I have to say the bulgur was cooked perfectly. I've never tasted it be such a great consistency. My husband's meal could've been more in terms of portion, but overall, he seemed fine with it. The highlight were the fries, I'd say. Ambiance-wise, it feels like they found everything they could find that was Brooklyn-themed and threw it all into one space. For a Queens girl, it was sweet to see. It all comes together in a nice, super hipster way.

Cute little coffee shop with friendly staff who spoke multiple languages. They had a variety of items on the menu and I felt it was tailored more to tourists than locals.

A wonderful breakfast spot that we discovered right across from our hotel. Very cute & cozy. People that own/manage the place are very friendly & the food is wonderful. There are many options to choose from for every taste. Whether you only want a coffee with a pastry, a light breakfast or a heavy meal - you will find everything here.

Decided to come here for breakfast after seeing all the good reviews. This was a cute cafe. The vibe reminded me of Brooklyn, New York (hence the name, I guess). We got seated right away. I ordered the Croissant - which I got the latte, orange juice, croissant butter with ham, cheese and tomato and scrambled eggs. It took nearly an hour for us to get our drinks and food. I thought the ham, cheese and tomato would be between the croissant and warmed up, but they weren't. The were laid out separately like on a platter. The slice of ham was cold, and had a dollop of preserve. Even my scrambled eggs were cold. And the croissant was pretty dry. The portions were good. I just wished that my food was hot. They don't accept credit cards. Make sure you bring your euros!

Combo breakfast w/bacon, 2 fried eggs, pancakes, fresh orange juice and a latte.

Great breakfast deals that are delicious & the service is fast and friendly. Where else can you get breakfast w/eggs, meat, bread (pancakes, croissant or roll!) w/fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee (latte, etc) for between 8.90 and 10.90 euros? My "comfort combo even came w/a small bowl of fruit! Restaurant is very clean and well-organized & the only downside is that someone might sit outside an open window to smoke. Please see my pictures if the 3 potential "set" breakfasts - of course, other dishes, pastries, coffees also available. We ate there twice on our 4 days in Lisbon & would have eaten there again, except they closed on Sundays!

Brooklyn cafe, located in Lisboa Portugal is one of my top 5 go to restaurants for authentic fresh organic dishes. From the moment that I discovered the restaurant the vibe that I got from the appearance was a solid impression. Strategic Outdoor seating with a park across the street that one specific days has the local artist selling art, trinkets and clothing for tourist and visitors from around the world. The inside seating was enough for groups and couples, while the bar seating could hold 4 people comfortably. There are photos of American artist and entertainers from all over the country on the walls that really set off the experience. Artist like Lenny Kravitz, Biggie, The Rat Pack, Jimi Hendrix, Jackie Robinson, the list went on - with some of the greatest! You walk in and here some of the coolest music that sets the mood as you inhale freshly baked croissants that are homemade. The chefs are strictly identified with stylish hats and black aprons. Clearly the represent and signify professional from head to toe. The beauty in my opinion is that they were all women of beautiful color! They took time to prepare breakfast and lunch with keeping the customer first. The owners of this place is a beautiful family that took care with planning and organizing the best parts and highlights. In fact, the daughter of the owners reminded me of my own daughter - it was my own highlight that I felt I had to offer and share with the family a photo of my oldest daughter Xian who took favor to the young woman who was working diligently (their daughter) or heir to the throne. Her name was pronounced "Bia", maybe short for Bianca - I don't want to misspell her name so I will keep this chapter brief. The family spoke at least to languages that I picked up on French and Portuguese - Carlos, owner and father connected with me as we smiled and laughed about the connection and importance of family and business! I fell in love with the experience ya'll - you have to pay them a visit when you arrive in Lisboa Portugal. The restrooms are clean, well lit and respected. In fact, throughout my travels in Portugal there was only one toilet that was shady and that was at the train station. 90% of the ones visited in public places were CLEAN - like a community effort! Now onto my food experience at Brooklyn Cafe; The scents - as soon as your walk in you can smell bread, here coffee hissing from the and here the gentle chatter of skillet to spatula to eggs dancing on plates of fresh salad, balsamic vinegars from around the world. The food is such a variety, You can tell that the take the spin on an American breakfast, of Brooklyn diner and flip it with a European flare and fragrance. Anything you choose will be made with perfection. More photos and review to be added at a later time. Just two things to keep in mind. Attractively Affordable, best ambiance in the area. Brooklyn cafe has captured the essence and sells it first class!!

I still remember the breakfast here very fondly. They have a variety of delicious breakfast sets you can't go wrong with. My fiance got the Brooklyn special, which came with coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice, variety of breads, ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon AND pancake! I mean, if you want a hearty, wholesome breakfast, you needn't look farther! I opted for the avocado salad, which came with fresh arugula, buoyant cherry tomatoes and thick balsamic vinegar. I really dig the vibe here, too. It seems really popular with college students, and is really close to downtown.

Loved loved loved this spot. The two waitresses were gorgeous - like they just stepped out of an Erykah Badu and Groove Theory music video. Food was delicious and music was on point. They got everything right - it was like stepping into a neighborhood cafe in Brooklyn, but in Lisbon! I will definitely return on a future trip.

This place is not only cute and cozy, it's chicly decorated with vintage American portraits of actors, and they provide amazing food. The menu has a lot to choose from so you can't go wrong no matter which way you go. Looks as though every meal comes with orange juice and your choice of coffee or tea. This place is definitely a must try when you're in Lisbon. Not to mention the staff are very kind and attentive. The sardines on toast was soo good.

Great breakfast joint and fresh bread and croissants. They have a good selection of coffee and the place is super cute.

Brooklyn is amazing!! The staff is so accommodating! The food was really great. But the atmosphere- you come here for the atmosphere. I felt like I was in Brooklyn at a local red .

All I can say is that I sure wish We had found this place earlier. Sucked into the pastel de nata tourist groove it was not until the end of the trip that I thought to see where my fellow yelpers went to eat. This is a hidden gem not far off the tourist track. Small and intimate with an extensive menu and a Brooklyn vibe! Service is friendly-our food was a little slow to arrive so we were offered a free drink to compensate. Hubby had the granola which came with a delicious tub of super fresh yogurt. He also ordered a croissant that was 'nicely jammed' I went for the 5 euro comfort breakfast which was a great deal (see my photo). Egg, fresh bread and cheese plus a cup of fresh fruit (no grape or honeydew filler here) and a fresh oj plus my choice of coffee beverage-should have checked to see if they offer soy milk. They had an incredible loooorange cake and some Other yummy pastries which I managed to resist. Only sadness is they open at 9 and my conference starts then so I cannot come back tomorrow.

The ground beef in the beef chamussas had a nice spiced flavor, and I liked how thin the filo dough pastry was. They were served with mayo and a green piripiri sauce that added an extra kick. Quickly came a server to take our drink orders, ordered still water $2, then came the bread service. Where we each received three small pieces of bread, tomato, hummus, and an oil olive with balsamic glaze. We normally know bread is an extra cost but the waiter never said anything. Then we ordered the scallop appetizer ($17)and the tiger prawn entree ($39) as our meals. While we waited for our meals, the server came around with the wine menu; every interaction I felt the server was being pushy to sell more as other reviews have stated. The scallop entree came out and they were under cooked and no sear on them at all. Not sure if that was on purpose but I've had better and this was sub par. Then as we waited for the last meal they came around with more bread and oil/balsamic. Then our last meal comes out and they nicely separated the portion on two plates so we didn't have to share on one; hence the 1 star instead of none. The tiger prawn tasted slightly over cooked, the side salad was delicious and the fries were fresh. It was decent but definitely not worth $39. Then they brought the menus for dessert and again were pushy about it. Then came time to pay and what do you know, there are charges I don't recognize. They charged $4 euros per person for the bread service and 2 coffees we never even ordered. I waved down a waiter and he reviewed the charges with me and said he would remove the coffees. Then we provided a card to pay for our meal and said their machine wasn't working. We didn't have enough euros and only USD with us. They didn't want to accept the USD and kept insisting their was an atm around the corner and that he would walk with us there. He repeated this multiple times and I got very uncomfortable. Why would a high end restaurant not have a working credit card machine or at least tell us that the machine wasn't working when we got there so we knew. Everything just felt really shady and I felt unsafe. We refused to get money from the atm and said we can pay in USD or we will wait until your machine is back up. The manager, who I never spoke to I guess said we could pay in USD and told us how much. $75, which was a little over the conversion rate. The server also made it known that didn't include tip... tip? Are you kidding me? After this experience? This is a tourist trap. I don't even believe their card machine wasn't working, I just think they wanted cash under the table. There's a reason the locals don't come here. DO NOT COME HERE!

We were delighted to find they had five items on their menu for vegetarians. It is said that Portugal is a bad place to visit if you are looking for vegetarian cuisine and so far the story checks out. So we were glad to have found this place. The name refers to a place name in Angola (we were told it is the "principal city" in Angola). My wife and I had Luanda Couscous - very nice African style couscous with vegetables. One of our other diners had a chicken dish with an excellent African peanut sauce. She also had something called popcorn flour (?) which she didn't like but I thought was pretty good with the peanut sauce. The rest of our party had fish and they liked it. The service was good (very helpful food server who spoke good English and was the daughter of the owners), and the location and decor were great as well. We're from the USA and like most Americans we eat a little earlier than they do in Portugal, so a lot of restaurants aren't even open yet when we choose to have dinner. This one was - yay!
