    Chicken bacon mushroom pie
    Annabelle R.

We ordered using the QR code sitting on the patio tables at Kitchen 1437, selecting the chicken bacon mushroom pie, spinach and feta roll, and fresh fruit parfait from the menu. It took a whopping one-hour wait for our order to be ready on a Monday morning. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. I highly recommend ordering in advance way ahead of time. The taste was okay, but not really worth the ridiculous wait time. Even after that long of a delay, the pie we eventually got was still cold in the middle and the bacon seemed to be missing, but the filling was nice and savory with a flaky pie crust. The spinach and feta roll was cooked all the way and delish! And the worker was apologetic for the wait and gave us an extra spinach and feta roll and beverage on the house.

Bought a couple of frozen pies and sausage rolls. Because I love sausage rolls. Heated it at home. Instructions were easy. The crust was really flaky and tasty but the filling was just OK. Nothing to shout about.

    Chicken Thai Curry Pie

It's a cute small place with some seating outdoors, we took our meal to go. Nice and hot flaky crust, yummy, pies had good flavor I was full with two regular size pies. And nope I did not order the party size I went bigger! And I don't regret it.

Greatness arranged for your viewing pleasure.

Talk about delicious! We got the party size pies and despite their deceptively small size, they are some mean little suckers, man. They pack a punch in the flavor department, for SURE. The filling is just right and the pies are so flaky and tasty. We started with the Pepper Steak Pie and they laid down a wombo combo one two punch, we were reeling it was so good. Guys. The Pepper Steak Pie is DANK. Next we had the Lamb Pie and realized it was a mistake not saving the Pepper Steak for last. It was good, but I couldn't stop comparing it, so next time I'm saving the PSP (Pepper Steak Pie) for last. Lamb Pie had good flavor, and had I not just been blown away, would have been my favorite of the bunch. We then had the Vegan Ratatouille Pie, which, again, compared to the others was overshadowed by the greatness before. That said, the taste was solid. Perhaps around a 6 out of 10. HOWEVER. That green sauce they gave with the pies took this pie to a WHOLE. NOTHA. LEVEL. They have to be lacing that sauce with crack cause I couldn't get over how awesome it was. It was a shame I only had one little plastic dip cup. Maybe it's for the best. I probably would have drank 3 or 4 of them straight up. Next we had the Spinach & Feta Roll. I sort of wasn't feeling it, but my partner enjoyed it. It's about a solid 5. Just good. Finally, we had the Chicken Bacon Mushroom Pie that we purposefully saved for last, expecting another knock your socks off experience, but we hyped it up way too much. It was good, but it was no PSP. Pepper Steak Pie reigns supreme. Throughout the meal, we had the mashed potatoes and side salad, both very solid and tasty. We used them as palate cleansers between pies to useful effect. The last thing we had was the Lamington, a soft, chocolatey, cakey, coconut experience that I found pretty good. It's not really my jam, but I can see how people could like it a lot. For me it's about a 5. For reference, my 5's are still good food, with 4's starting to be off putting flavors and 1's being enough for me to start a damn crusade. Luckily for all of us, Bronzed Aussie is solidly in the upper 9's. Wow. What an awesome lunch. Can't wait to try the other varieties of pies and wrap my mouth around another delectable Pepper Steak Pie.

The Vegan Impossible Pie is absolutely amazing. Super flaky and flavorful! Definitely get the regular size not the Party size! Also the side salad is so fresh and delicious! You can even get them frozen to heat up and enjoy later!

Overall, I was pleased with the food here. There used to be an Aussie pie in Westwood that was terrific. Sadly it closed for some unknown reason. The pies here are quite very and there seems to be good options with other items including sausage rolls. The star of the show here is the pastry dough it's very light and fluffy... spot on. The feelings were okay on the smaller pies, could use a little more stuffing / meat. Also I would kill to have a side of cheese sauce or some HP sauce option here. The ketchup option is pretty weak and totally too American for me. Docking them a star because the service was not great. They made a mistake on my order and to fix it would require me waiting 25 to 30 minutes to have another pie made. Also, if you come here and want to order a pie you're going to be waiting 20 to 30 minutes to have it made. Another plus is outdoor seating.

Can I order it "ready to bake", so we can bake it at home? As we live far away and all the pies will be taste as good by the time we get them home.

Hi Fiona! You can purchase them frozen, many people do((: If you have a mini cooler or a cold bag, I would recommend bringing along since you have a far drive it sounds like. We will provide you with baking instructions.

What happened to their 714 S. Los Angeles Street location?

    Do they have pavlova?

On special order only- call plenty in advance

    Looking for mincemeat pie?

They have all the minces you can dream of! Also, coffee. They have very good coffee.

The restaurant itself is cute, but it has a lot of hard surfaces, which means the noise has nowhere to go. It wasn't crowded when we arrived, so it wasn't an issue at first. As the place filled up, I noticed the noise level rising, but it never became a real problem. I like it when there is an open kitchen. Our server was cordial and took our order right away, but she never came back to check on us. At the end of the meal, we had to flag her down to get a to-go box and the check. Overall, the service was good but not great. I had the pizza, and my friend had the chicken and waffles. I was surprised by the portions, which were more than generous. The chicken and waffles was a piece of art and is probably one of the better versions we've had in Los Angeles. The pizza looked great, but when I picked it up, it was soggy and all the toppings slid off. I ended up having to eat it with a knife and fork. The flavor was good, but I think I would order something else next time.

This location was the perfect halfway point for all of us. We arrived bright and early around 9:30 AM on a Wednesday. I had called ahead to reserve a booth, my absolute favorite kind of seating. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and immediately seated. Our server (I unfortunately forgot his name!) was fantastic. He brought out fresh coffee right away, took our breakfast orders, and was extremely kind, polite, and attentive throughout our entire meal. The menu has plenty of options, ranging from scratch-made omelettes and burritos to salads and a dedicated kids' menu. The Breakfast Plate Specials ($12-$14) Both my cousin and aunts ordered this. It came loaded with pancakes, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast--an absolute steal for the price~ Turkey Club Sandwich & Fries: I was in the mood for lunch, so I opted for the club. The fries were hot and perfectly crispy. The sandwich itself was wonderful, packed with turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. My only tiny critique is that I wish it came with mayo (I'm a huge mayo fan!). However, I ordered a side of ranch which paired perfectly and really elevated the sandwich. The vibe here is incredibly laid-back, welcoming, and brightly lit. Everything--including the restrooms--was sparkling clean. They had TVs playing a local soccer game and a nice bar area where it looks like they serve up a great selection of beer and wine for happy hour. I didn't grab an alcoholic drink this time, but I already have my eye on a cranberry mimosa for my next visit! Before you leave, make sure to check out the front counter--they have a massive display of freshly baked cookies, pies, and other goodies~ For the price, the food is absolutely worth it and the service is top-notch. Thank you so much, Dinah's Comfort Kitchen--we will definitely be back when we're in the area again!

I ordered a loaded carne asada-style dish served over fresh greens, and every bite was intentional and well-balanced. The beef was deeply seasoned, tender, and slightly crisped in places, which added great texture. What really stood out was the attention to detail: pickled red onions for acidity, fresh greens for balance, and a side of house-made pickled vegetables that cut through the richness perfectly. My wife could go on for hours talking about how great the spaghetti here is the same way I could talk about Shohei Ohtani's magnificence as a baseball player. Regrettably, I do not share in her love of this place. I find the food to be very basic and akin to cafeteria food. And before anyone blasts me for this comment, they actually serve you food in cafeteria trays! I've tried their signature spaghetti with meat sauce. The sauce is very bland. The other day, I tried out their pepperoni pizza for the first time. It was so greasy and soggy that I couldn't finish it, even at the risk of offending the wife. Just about the only thing I enjoy here is the salad. Like everything else, it's nothing fancy, but it is the most satisfying thing to eat. It's served cold with a creamy and light dressing. Some final thoughts before I wrap up this review. The food is very cheap as is the parking in the back of the restaurant. Parking is only two bucks if you get it validated by the cashier. While it pains me to disparage this place, it pains me even more knowing that I will have to make yet another pilgrimage to this restaurant at some point in the not so distant future.

Definitely recommend asking where to park to avoid a ticket. Overall, we very much enjoyed our dining experience and will certainly be back to try other menu items.

Overall, I'd give 3.5 stars. Granville is a chain restaurant, similar to the likes of Olive garden,…read moreChilies, etc, but probably a tad more upscale in terms of the overall decor and vibe. Service was fine, but nothing special. We were greeted, seated and the waitress took our orders. Once the food arrived, our waitress barely came by again except towards the end to drop off our check. Other staff did come by to clear our empty plates from the table, so that was nice. We did notice that they only provided 1 serving spoon for all of our dishes. Would've liked a serving utensil with each dish to minimize cross-contamination and mixing of flavors. Throughout our dining, there were flies and small bugs flying around, which was off-putting and annoying as we had to keep swatting them away from landing on our food. 1. Farmhouse Beet Salad (5/5) It's a good thing this was the 1st dish to arrive at our table as it left a good 1st impression. The roasted organic beets were fresh and had that earthy-tone to it. Dressed with their lemon-oregano vinaigrette, feta, arugula, and candied pecans. OMG, those candied pecans were heavenly. It's crunchy and toasted to perfection. the candied flavor of it was addictingly delicious. If they have a menu item of candied pecans, I'll order it any day. 2. Trio Taco (2.5/5) You can choose between chicken, steak, shrimp, plant-based chicken, or jackfruit. We opted for steak. The steak was fine, but for BBQ sauce used was just a dish killer. They need to rethink the choice of sauce used in these tacos. Also, not a fan of corn tortilla. Wish they gave a choice between corn and flour tortilla. 3. Artisan Bread & Butter (5/5) Their sourdough bread sliced, grilled and brushed generously with garlic olive oil. Severed with a side of whipped duckfat butter. I've never had duck fat butter before, so this was a pleasant experience to try. Not to worry, there's no duck flavor at all. It's almost like cream cheese but lighter and airer. 4. Ahi Filet (1.5/5) Sesame-crusted ahi with a side wasabi aioli. The ahi was so-so; definitely, not the freshest and there's no "melt-in-your mouth" joy. The wasabi aioli sauce was good though. There is a subtle spice kick from the wasabi. It's served with a side of soba noodles that was gingery and peanuty in flavor. Unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked as they stuck to each other in clumps. 5. Bacon & Blue Burger (4.5/5) Quite a satisfying burger consisting of wagyu beef, duroc bacon, aged blue cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. It's juicy, meaty, slightly tangy from the horseradish aioli and sweet from the port wine reduction. The brioche bun was pleasantly soft. 6. Thai Ginger Salad (3/5) This salad consists of romaine lettuce as the base. It is dressed with Thai sesame dressing, which was underwhelming. The toppings for this salad include fresh mango cubes, slaw, slices of avocado, fresh peanut bits, tomato and soba noodles. It's not a bad salad, but for the price, I do not think it is worth it. 7. Superfood Longevity Salad (4/5) A salad consisting of mixed greens (lacinato kale and spring mix) with a variety of rich, nutritious toppings (organic beets, quinoa, pomegranate, radish, blueberries, almonds, dried Bing cherries, and pepitas). The dressing is a sherry vinaigrette that's tangy, creamy and light. All the ingredients came together well. If you are looking for a hearty salad, this is for you. 8. Hibiscus Rosé (4/5) Sparkling rosé with hibiscus flavor infused with grapefruit skin to give it a bit of citrus note and topped off with a micro flower to add a special touch of decor to the drink. In summary, the food looks better than it actually tastes. Come here if you want to eat out with a large party for celebration, but otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it for a special night out as the price does not justify the experience.

Just went for the first time on July 12th. I had the South LA breakfast with grits, fried chicken…read more(breast and a wing), scrambled eggs fried hard. My girlfriend ordered the creole catfish with crawfish sauce, rice, red pepper cabbage, and Mac n cheese. We had two corn bread muffins with peach cobbler butter. Out of scale of 5 Grits, 5, perfect amount of butter. They had fried onions on top,.. I never see that before but it was fire Pancakes, 6, past the scale, if you like fluffy pancakes, these are perfect. Fried chicken, 4.5, breast wasn't dry like white meat usually is and that batter was crispy and very well seasoned. Personally I didn't need any hot sauce. Be careful with that spicy ranch, it tasted like a ball of fire in my mouth. Creole Catfish, 7, past the scale! That crawfish sauce and seasoned rice made that catfish taste heavenly, nbs. Mac n cheese, 4, taste like your granny made it. I loved the bake with some char on the cheese. Red Pepper Cabbage, 5, I don't even like cabbage like that but this was seasoned to perfection! If you like Caribbean cabbage (it's not the same but similar) you would fs like this. Cornbread, 3.5 with the butter, you HAVE to put the butter on it. I think it's made that way on purpose because the peach cobbler butter is what makes it good. Overall great atmosphere and good service. Keep in mind the restaurant is small so if you want to eat inside and not on the front patio, you might have to be patient to wait for a party to finish up since there aren't many tables inside. We happened to catch a table right when some people were leaving so we didn't have to wait long for them to clean the table and sit us. After we ordered, we weren't waiting forever for our food and the two ladies that were working front of the house were doing everything from packing Togo orders to serving food. As busy as they were, they still took the time to help my girl decide what to order and made sure we our food came out the way we wanted it.

Everything went well, and as a review suggests I would highly highly highly recommend this spot! And while the one on La Brea is also great and I've certainly reviewed it a lot of times, I dare say the ambiance and interior of this one has it beat!
