we came on a friday night at 10pm and it wasn't too busy! i came before when there was a ton of hype and waited 1.5 hrs in line lol so it's nice to not have to wait now. the interior is so gorgeous i love the lighting and the decoration inside. they have two tablets to order from, and i love the wide variety of their menu. double matcha with oat milk 5/5: the matcha flavor is PERFECTTTT so rich. i got 100% sweetness and i loved it bc i prefer it sweet. valet parking is $1!

absolutely love it here!! they had such unique drinks! & also have an ice cream station as well where there's different levels of matcha! i was able to sample them too! i got the banana creme brûlée matcha and it was truly so good. every sip felt like heaven. service: pretty good!! ambiance: very cute in there, felt like i was in japan, love the aesthetics parking can be very overwhelming tbh, depends if the plaza is full or not. i parked across the street where there was a space for parking.

Welcome to my Koreatown matcha detour. After shopping at The Grove, we decided to make a quick stop for matcha and found this little gem that clearly isn't much of a secret anymore. When you pull into the parking lot it's packed. Valet controls the lot, so if you'd rather not use it you can try street parking -- just know it gets tough depending on the time of day. Once we found a spot and walked in, the decor was nice with a clean Japanese-style feel. There were a few places to sit, but nothing overly spacious or super accommodating. When it came time to order we weren't sure which gelato we wanted, so they kindly offered us one sample per person. Off to the left are two electronic tablets where you place your order. I wish the drink descriptions were a little clearer, but after checking a few details we were good to go. I ordered the Banana Pudding Crème Brûlée Matcha and a regular matcha with a scoop of gelato (we upgraded to the extra matcha gelato on top). The matcha quality was excellent -- you could really taste the difference. The Banana Pudding Crème Brûlée Matcha was creamy, rich, and the cold foam on top was absolutely delicious. This place has a great vibe and even better drinks. Funny side note: I used my alter ego "Papi Chulo" when ordering. When our order came up, the younger guy behind the counter read the name, looked at his coworker with a smile, then just called out the order number instead. As he set the drinks down he laughed and said, "Zero chance I'm saying that out loud!"

Best quality matcha I've had. I ordered a matcha latte with a extra matcha ice cream, I ordered the matcha with level of sugar 0 because I love to try the matcha by itself, and the quality is soooo good. The ice cream is very creamy and it was sweet, I am not sure if its sugar but it's sweet. My fiancée ordered a banana pudding creme brulee and it was soooo good and sweet and you could taste the matcha flavor. This is so far the best quality matcha in koretown

Finally an excellent dessert place open in the village!! Matcha is definitely to die for. But so as other icecream flavor too. This time we tried to Hokkaido milk gelato. It is so good and refreshing! The line a bit long in the weekend. They do let customer try out their gelato flavor. But limit to one per customer.

I like that they have different intensity of matcha. The second strongest one was perfect for me. Service was great, they only let you try for two item, I don't really like that but I can see people abusing it in that neighborhood. It's nice and clean inside the store. Highly recommended and I will repeat.

MATCHA HEAVEN!! This place serves both matcha drinks and gelato. You can have one sample for the gelato. Side note: the parking for this plaza is VALET ONLY ($5)

Matsu Matcha is located in a valet-only parking lot, so make sure to budget accordingly (or park a block over + get validation). As their name suggests, they specialize in matcha, including gelato. Their hojicha matcha gelato was tasty, but that ultra matcha... unless you like matcha - ooh, this one STRONG! (I felt like I was eating powdered grass... the smallest nibble, and I was more alert than an adrenaline rush! The Matcha Mango Latte (30% sugar) was super tasty, and I highly recommend it. The layering was great, and the taste equally good. The staff that work here are super friendly, and they allowed samplings of their gelato too - definitely sample before ordering! Note that this location is a tad small, though, so if you come after dinner or a "rush hour" time, there may be a line out the door, and you may feel claustrophobic.

They specialize in matcha. I mean, not only is it in the name, but you have gelato with different types and concentration of matcha as well as a variety of drinks you can order. The service is really friendly and the space isn't large but it's bright, clean, and has a zen-like quality to it. There is some seating, but I'm going to guess most of the business is for take out. Since it was early in the morning, I got a beverage (although I would love to come back soon and get some gelato!). And I didn't really go the traditional route. I got the banana pudding matcha cream, which was such a tasty treat! But yeah, my next visit, I will be exploring the gelato flavors for sure. The lot is pretty tiny as with most lots in K Town, but there's valet and when I went, it was early in the day so there was available street parking nearby.

One of the best matchas I've had! When you first walk in, the aesthetic is reminiscent of a Japanese tea house (but in a more japandi/minimal modern). There's kiosks where you can order and an ice cream display of all their ice creams. We got the triple matcha drink and one scoop of the Genmai matcha ice cream. The triple matcha drink is really good. The drink comes with matcha jelly and matcha creamtop and is bitter but also slightly sweet. Matcha jelly isn't too overpowering with matcha but it does give the drink a stronger matcha taste. 9/10 The genmai ice cream has a lighter matcha taste which isn't too bitter. Creamy and refreshing with a matcha aftertaste. 8/10 Stuff is friendly and they are nice enough to put our one scoop into a cup (which typically comes in a cone). Def will come back to try the other matcha drinks and ice creams!

I really enjoyed Matsu Matcha and am disappointed that there is not one near my house! This place was pretty good and the line was pretty long but also went by pretty fast. You order at the kiosk so it really depends on how long people take to order. Their ice creams are very strong in flavor for both the matcha and hojicha! You are allowed to try one sample of their gelato so I definitely recommend trying that if there isn't a wait. I also got and liked the hojicha latte. I think the only downside of this place is that it is very pricey for the size, but the quality is very good. It was very aesthetic but very little seating and just very crowded so I recommend going on a random day and time. The parking is very small and I believe it is only valet parking, so I recommend finding neighborhood/street parking.

    Chris F.

Some of the best matcha I've had in L.A. The shop has really nice and simple decor. You order at the kiosk and my drinks came out pretty quickly. I orderd the triple matcha and the guava matcha latte. Both were delicious but I liked the triple matcha a bit more. I cant wait to go back and try some of their other fmdrinks and gelato. The only thing that wasnt the best was the parking. I think its valet only.

There are kiosks to order from. You get one sample of gelato. I got 2 flavors, ultra rich matcha (+$1) and dark chocolate, in a cup. Both flavors were creamy, rich, and not too sweet. About $10. Casual vibes with limited indoor seating.

It's a very cute and cozy coffee shop and there was no line when we arrived. The menu had a huge selection of different coffee and tea drinks and also a seasonal menu. The staff were very kind and patient and swiftly prepared the Vienna Latte and Hojicha Latte we ordered. The Vienna Latte is so visually stunning, the layers of white milk, brown espresso, thick white cream, brown cocoa powder and Biscoff layered on top of each other against the dark green logo was so aesthetic. Having a sip before mixing the Vienna latter was incredible, the sweet cream followed with the nutty strong espresso flavour then getting a refreshing splash of milk made a great combo with the Biscoff. I actually liked the drink less after its all mixed because it was too creamy for my taste. (I normally like my coffee black) My hojicha latte was great, but it was also too milky for me. So I went up and asked if it would taste good dirty, with an espresso shot in it, and the barista said yes. I ordered an espresso shot and instead of charging me full price, they only charged me the add on espresso shot for the drink! ($1.50 instead of $4) It was very kind of them since it was absolutely my mistake for not ordering the right drink in the first place. The shot added much depth and flavour to the hojicha latte I was craving. Thanks for the wonderful service. I'm definitely coming back to try their other specialty drinks.

So we decided to come here for coffee or tea and ended up having a really nice time. I used to come here quite often about four years ago. Back then, I really liked their Einspänner and ordered it several times. But the last time I came, I thought it was way too sweet, so I hadn't been back since. It had actually been a REALLY long time since I last visited. And when I used to come here four years ago, I always came in the morning or around lunchtime. Last night was my first time ever coming here at night. My friend told us that they are open until midnight, so that's why we decided to come here after dinner. I had heard that parking here can be a nightmare because there aren't enough parking spaces and people have a hard time finding a spot. But once again, my parking luck was AMAZING! A car pulled out right in front of me just as I arrived, so I was able to park very easily. Another friend arrived later than I did, and she said she couldn't find a parking spot at all. She drove around for quite a while looking for one before finally finding street parking. Last night, we also had some tiramisu, and since I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine, I decided to have a caffeine-free ade instead of coffee or tea. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it was ok. We sat outside on the outdoor patio and talked and talked and talked. We had such a fun time together! However, it was actually pretty cold outside last night. I remember thinking that it felt surprisingly chilly. But what was even crazier was how FREEZING cold it was inside the café! They had the air conditioning turned up so high that both my friends and I felt like we were going to freeze to death. The restroom is inside, and I also went inside to get some water, so I mentioned to one of the male employees that it was freezing inside. He told me that they didn't feel cold at all because they were working, and that THEY were actually feeling really hot. I went back to our table and told my friends what he had said, and they were like, "WHAT?! We're freezing to death over here!" The parking lot here is actually pretty large, so I was wondering why it was so difficult to find a parking spot. Apparently, at night, the left side is the café, while on the right side there is a bar where people can drink and also play games. There was a huge line of people waiting outside the bar last night, so I'm guessing that's probably why the parking lot gets so crowded and it's hard to find a spot. It was also pretty chilly outside last night because of the low temperature, so one thing I wished they had on the outdoor patio was heaters. That would have made sitting outside much more comfortable on a cold night.

It had the perfect amount of sweetness, the perfect creaminess, and the matcha wasn't bitter at all. You can tell they use really good, high-quality matcha because not only could I taste the quality, I could feel it in my energy level too. My sister got the MANGO MATCHA DUO with oat milk and absolutely loved it. My sister's coworker tried the SPARKLING YUZU MATCHA and said it was delicious! She loved that the yuzu flavor wasn't overpowering and said the matcha tasted very high quality. We also got the STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE MATCHA DUO because it was recommended as one of their top picks. We gave it to another one of her coworkers, and she finished it so quick! She said it tasted like a dessert and raved about how delicious and amazing it was! There's seating area in front of the café and as well as inside. The inside is really cute and had a nice atmosphere. The best time to go is early in the morning when open. Customer service was exceptional! Everyone was very kind while at the same time quick and attentive to the line. If you get lucky, you can find street parking, but be careful parking on Olympic Blvd. during certain times. Not to worry though because they do have a parking structure, which makes things much easier. Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ROK Coffee & Tea! Everything we tried gets a 10/10 from us! The seasonal peach jasmine tea was the surprise standout ..floral jasmine up front, real peach sweetness (not syrup-bomb fake fruit) on the back end. Balanced in a way that seasonal drinks rarely pull off; most places either overdo the fruit or underdo the tea. This one's dialed in. Iced Spanish latte rounded things out and didn't miss either; espresso with enough backbone to cut through the condensed milk instead of getting buried by it. A lot of places let the sweetness take over; ROK kept the coffee actually tasting like coffee. 4 drinks, zero misses. That's not luck; that's a program that's actually dialed in behind the counter.
