Lamington
Haylee M.

Very hole in the wall place because there's no actual storefront for it, here but definitely one of those hidden gems! Only reason we came here is because we wanted to try Australian food and this definitely had some of the good stuffs. You need to order through this app or order over that counter and then sit at the tables outside or take something to go. But the name of the restaurant isn't very visible because it's through a food platform I believe. Either way, everything here was delicious! Peppered Steak Pie - This was so light and so yummy! The beef on the inside was very flavorful and went really well with that puff pastry. North Carolina this was so light it's like every bite just disappeared in your mouth! And it's not just me saying this. Husband also felt the same! Chicken Thai Curry Pie - I have no idea how that feeling is so creamy and cheesy on the inside of the puff pastry! Really nice filling one here, and it's very satisfying both in flavor and quantity! Lamington - This was served cold so it took me a little bit by surprise because I was expecting a normal room temperature Lamington. Either way, it tasted really delicious. Soft sponge cake with Rich chocolate and then the shredded coconut outside. Makes me want to try to make one of these myself haha! Anzac Biscuit - this was really soft and warm when they served it! It's like it was actually freshly baked and would just melt in your mouth! Overall totally recommend this place!

Bought a couple of frozen pies and sausage rolls. Because I love sausage rolls. Heated it at home. Instructions were easy. The crust was really flaky and tasty but the filling was just OK. Nothing to shout about.

Chicken Thai Curry Pie

It's a cute small place with some seating outdoors, we took our meal to go. Nice and hot flaky crust, yummy, pies had good flavor I was full with two regular size pies. And nope I did not order the party size I went bigger! And I don't regret it.

Greatness arranged for your viewing pleasure.

Talk about delicious! We got the party size pies and despite their deceptively small size, they are some mean little suckers, man. They pack a punch in the flavor department, for SURE. The filling is just right and the pies are so flaky and tasty. We started with the Pepper Steak Pie and they laid down a wombo combo one two punch, we were reeling it was so good. Guys. The Pepper Steak Pie is DANK. Next we had the Lamb Pie and realized it was a mistake not saving the Pepper Steak for last. It was good, but I couldn't stop comparing it, so next time I'm saving the PSP (Pepper Steak Pie) for last. Lamb Pie had good flavor, and had I not just been blown away, would have been my favorite of the bunch. We then had the Vegan Ratatouille Pie, which, again, compared to the others was overshadowed by the greatness before. That said, the taste was solid. Perhaps around a 6 out of 10. HOWEVER. That green sauce they gave with the pies took this pie to a WHOLE. NOTHA. LEVEL. They have to be lacing that sauce with crack cause I couldn't get over how awesome it was. It was a shame I only had one little plastic dip cup. Maybe it's for the best. I probably would have drank 3 or 4 of them straight up. Next we had the Spinach & Feta Roll. I sort of wasn't feeling it, but my partner enjoyed it. It's about a solid 5. Just good. Finally, we had the Chicken Bacon Mushroom Pie that we purposefully saved for last, expecting another knock your socks off experience, but we hyped it up way too much. It was good, but it was no PSP. Pepper Steak Pie reigns supreme. Throughout the meal, we had the mashed potatoes and side salad, both very solid and tasty. We used them as palate cleansers between pies to useful effect. The last thing we had was the Lamington, a soft, chocolatey, cakey, coconut experience that I found pretty good. It's not really my jam, but I can see how people could like it a lot. For me it's about a 5. For reference, my 5's are still good food, with 4's starting to be off putting flavors and 1's being enough for me to start a damn crusade. Luckily for all of us, Bronzed Aussie is solidly in the upper 9's. Wow. What an awesome lunch. Can't wait to try the other varieties of pies and wrap my mouth around another delectable Pepper Steak Pie.

IMPOSSIBLE Pie *Vegan*

The Vegan Impossible Pie is absolutely amazing. Super flaky and flavorful! Definitely get the regular size not the Party size! Also the side salad is so fresh and delicious! You can even get them frozen to heat up and enjoy later!

Overall, I was pleased with the food here. There used to be an Aussie pie in Westwood that was terrific. Sadly it closed for some unknown reason. The pies here are quite very and there seems to be good options with other items including sausage rolls. The star of the show here is the pastry dough it's very light and fluffy... spot on. The feelings were okay on the smaller pies, could use a little more stuffing / meat. Also I would kill to have a side of cheese sauce or some HP sauce option here. The ketchup option is pretty weak and totally too American for me. Docking them a star because the service was not great. They made a mistake on my order and to fix it would require me waiting 25 to 30 minutes to have another pie made. Also, if you come here and want to order a pie you're going to be waiting 20 to 30 minutes to have it made. Another plus is outdoor seating.

Delicious steak pie

Great to find good Aussie comfort food in LA. Sausage rolls have a huge rosemary and thyme punch. Meat pies are awesome, as well.

Ask the Community - Bronzed Aussie

Can I order it "ready to bake", so we can bake it at home? As we live far away and all the pies will be taste as good by the time we get them home.

Hi Fiona! You can purchase them frozen, many people do((: If you have a mini cooler or a cold bag, I would recommend bringing along since you have a far drive it sounds like. We will provide you with baking instructions.

What happened to their 714 S. Los Angeles Street location?

Do they have pavlova?

On special order only- call plenty in advance

Looking for mincemeat pie?

They have all the minces you can dream of! Also, coffee. They have very good coffee.

I decided to take a nibble from my cousins plate and her Eggs Benedict were done to perfection! We were checked on several times throughout the meal to see if we needed any extra refills or sides and the attention was appreciated. Our coffee was always hot, the lemonade stayed cold, and our bellies were full. A quick glance around the restaurant showed a good mix of families, regulars, and quite a few tourists. The location sits on a large lot with plenty of parking available for both standard and handicapped patrons. The music was at a comfortable low level. The establishment has several available entrances that do not require stairs or an elevator, making it very handicapped accessible. Seating is a mixture of booths, tables, and a combination of the two.

5/5 - Flavor-packed, thoughtful plating, and absolutely worth the visit…read more This spot delivers on both flavor and presentation. I ordered a loaded carne asada-style dish served over fresh greens, and every bite was intentional and well-balanced. The beef was deeply seasoned, tender, and slightly crisped in places, which added great texture. It was topped with a creamy, slightly tangy sauce that tied everything together without overpowering the meat. What really stood out was the attention to detail: pickled red onions for acidity, fresh greens for balance, and a side of house-made pickled vegetables that cut through the richness perfectly. The tostada-style side topped with avocado, herbs, and onions added a nice contrast--crunchy, fresh, and vibrant. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Portion size was generous without feeling excessive, and the dish felt hearty yet clean. I paired it with a refreshing citrus drink that complemented the meal well and kept everything light. Overall, this is the kind of place where you can tell the kitchen cares about execution. Bold flavors, great balance, and a presentation that looks just as good as it tastes. I would absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying, well-crafted meal

There are signs letting you know the food is cooked to order and to expect a 20-25 minute wait, so at least they set expectations up front. The dining room was small but warm and colorful and there were additional tables set up just outside the front door. We had no problem finding a table inside. When the food came out, the portions were generous and the presentation was better than you'd expect from a humble neighborhood grill. The pupusas were crisp on the outside with plenty of filling, and the fish tacos were fresh and well-seasoned -- nothing greasy, nothing bland. Friendly service, solid food, and a spot I'd definitely come back to now that I know what to order.

Our drinks were always full, and there was just enough attention where we could get something if needed. We enjoyed the food. The dishes felt "simple", but yet well executed. I wouldn't say this is the finest dining you've ever had, but all of our dishes were delicious, fresh, and well prepared. * Fish and chips with caesar salad: delicious light batter - the chips (fries) were delicious and very nicely fried; the garlic aioli was amazing. The caesar salad * Caesar salad: Nicely done, very good croutons, and I appreciate they were willing to put the dressing on the side to control the amount of dressing on the salad * Trout: It was a nice, light fry, and very tasty. The green beans it came with were deliciously cooked with a nice crisp and almond slivers * Vegetarian chili soup: The chili soup was delicious. My kids don't like chili but really liked this * Fish pasta: The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, and the fish was so fresh. The pasta sauce was a nice compliment to the fish. It also came with some butter bread which was absolutely delicious and so nicely (heavily) buttered and toasted. It tasked like two very large crispy / soft croutons The neatest part were the movie posters in the hallway on the way to the bathroom.
