First time trying the broken yolk and I must say it was great experience. The customer service is outstanding. Our server was Courtney and she is the absolute best. We went on a Saturday and the place was packed. Courtney was so patient did not make us feel rushed at all. She recommended great dishes and constantly checked in on us. I tried the chicken and waffles benedict. The dish was tasty. However, the border benedict my bf ordered was a lot better. The mimosa flights were cute and I enjoyed all of them. I loved that our date ended with a cute balloon arrangement from Danny the ballon guy. He's super sweet and talented. read more

Took my wife to Broken Yoke Cafe Saturday around noon-ish, never been there before and wanted to try something new, got there to find out how popular this restaurant is, had to park 2 blocks away, BYC was bustin with business, had a 30 minute wait for 2, definitely add yourself to the online wait-list before getting there. Now we get seated, fairly loud with so many people talking, which you get used to after a while, they have alcohol drinks, sodas, teas, and juices, we ordered the carafe of orange juice, our server was Michael (I believe), I ordered the club sandwich (wheat bread) with fries, the sandwich was stacked high and cut into 4ths, the sandwich was very very good, you can taste each ingredient, bread, mayo, tomato, turkey, bacon and lettuce without a single ingredient overwhelming the others with flavor, the fries were crispy and flavored, my wife ordered the eggs Benedict and she loved it, her only complaint was, it needed just a little more hollandaise sauce, our server would take a bit of time coming by but totally understandable with how many people were in the restaurant, no complaint, he was very nice and helpful, BYC serves American style foods and "fancier" foods at prices that are common with diners like Denny's, but much better quality, it DID take quite a while for our food to arrive, but again, nearly 200 people, this restaurant was bustin with business, I would most definitely recommend Broken Yoke Cafe, just be sure to join a wait-list before arriving and get ready to have to search for parking. For how busy and hip this place seemed, the food did not live up to the hype. I started with a hot matcha latte, which was so incredibly sweet I couldn't drink it. It didn't even taste like matcha, it tasted like sweet milk with almost an almond flavoring. I then had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was overdone so the breading tasted burnt. My server replaced the dish and the cook on the chicken was better, but it was still a pretty average chicken and waffles, nothing special. Our service was good and the ambiance was fun and vibrant, but in my case, the food was average if not a bit lackluster. read more

I really love Broken Yolk Cafe. First, the menu is super dynamic. It's not like a classic American diner where there's a bunch of miscellaneous food. There's still a general theme to the food they serve (Chilaquiles, Chorizo, Ranchero skillet, sope benedict) and your classic benedicts, pancakes, waffles, and French toast. ALL of which are very, very good. Their iced matchas are my absolute favorite, and I get one every single time I'm there. The service there has always been great. Waiting staff are very kind and accommodating, but also very attentive, which is very much appreciated. One time, my boyfriend and I were seated and were not addressed for quite some time (30 minutes). We never complained, and we weren't even mad, just a tad confused, but realizing their error, they gave us meal vouchers and apologized. I really appreciated that. This has only ever happened ONCE, which goes to show how great their service generally is. The ambience is great. Nice spacious seating area, high ceilings, comfy chairs and booths, a lovely, covered patio space (with heaters for the chilly days), and all of that combined with great food and wonderful service. I can't recommend this place enough! read more

Came in with my buddy Ernie for breakfast and energy was on point from the jump. The general manager, Eric welcomed us with open arms and sat us at our table. Our server Sierra was super friendly, quick, and made us feel welcome the whole time. Erik was on the floor making sure everything ran smooth. Respect to that kind of leadership. Food is great however due to the service I am going to be hesitant about ordering from here again. I placed an order through UberEats 2 different times ordering the same thing (kids pancakes) & they forgot the drink both times. When I called the restaurant to bring it to their attention they stated that sometimes the driver takes off before the worker can give them the drink to the order. I do not think that is the case. It is no coincidence that 2 different delivery drivers will make the same mistake at the same place when I ordered the same thing. When I double checked the receipt stapled to my order both times, for some reason, the receipt does NOT list the drink that COMES WITH THE MEAL. I believe this is where the problem is. It is not the Uber drivers fault, how are supposed to know the order comes with a drink if they do not see that on their end? Broken Yolk definitely needs to fix their system to SHOW THE DRINK THAT COMES WITH THE ORDER. Either that or the workers need to study their menu & know that certain plates come with drinks. read more

Took my brother here for his 21st birthday and right away, our waitress, I think her name was Janette or Joana(it started with a J!) was hilarious. He showed her his 21 n over ID and she apologized saying "sorry, we don't take expired IDs." Our jaws dropped, because we didn't know. Turns out, it wasn't expired, she just got us really good. Now that's an ice breaker. Food was good. Drinks were good. I got a bottle. He got the flight. The champagne is good enough to drink plain, which is what I did. I got the egg white omelette. I think it was the mom omelette or something. A healthy option. My brother got the trio with French toast, pancakes, and the Hawaiian toast, plus the meat loves omelette I think. It's a family friendly vibe, they play music, and have a full bar. My family & I stopped by to eat here yesterday. It was a pretty mixed bag. Service, overall, was pretty good with no real complaints. My daughter had a chocolate chip pancake which was probably the best tasting of all the things we ordered. My son had lemon pancakes, which were ok but also kind of dry, along with a side of sausage. My wife had banana pancakes, also with sausage links and hash browns. The sausage links were good but the had browns needed some better seasoning. I had the biscuits and gravy with some fried chicken tenders. The chicken itself was pretty plain and only the batter was seasoned. The biscuits were fine but unspectacular while the gravy was kind of funky. It had an unexpected flavor which I still can't place. It wasn't bad, necessarily, but not good either. Drinks consisted of chai tea lattes which were good, a matcha latte which was decent, and a strawberry and banana smoothie which was very good. Overall, like I said, something of a mixed bag which was disappointing considering all the rave reviews. Sadly, I don't think we'll be returning as there are better eateries in the area which are a better bang for the buck. The prices here also veer higher than other places so one is better off going elsewhere. read more

Food was great. Service was great. The only big problem was that they seated us at a very small table outside for a party of 6. 4 adults 2 children. For a table where only 2-3 people typically eat at. Plus, the plate were huuuuge. There was absolutely no space to enjoy our meal. It was a bad call on the manager. I've attempted to have breakfast here various times after my fist visit last year. This place is always pretty packed except during the week. Maybe because they were recently voted one of the best places to have breakfast/ brunch in the US. Finally, today we waited less than 30 minutes. It's like we got here at the perfect time. This is because soon after it got pretty full. Once you sign in you can wait inside or outside in their waiting area. Just beware no shade in the outside waiting area. Also, you can help yourself to some water or coffee. To the food now. My last visit I had the Tiki toast I was very pleased with my choice. All their food here looks good. They have one of those breakfast challenges if your feeling extra hungry. So, my husband had the Fuego Omelette with the home fries. This is fire . Just so good and not too spicy. I went with fiesta burrito it was good, but I enjoyed the fuego omelette so much more. read more

I've been coming to broken yolk for more than 4 years now and at least once a month or every other month. Service has always been great except for that one time where we walked out of the restaurant due to an extremely rude waiter. We were served by Janelle today. Janelle was very nice and friendly. We had great conversations with her. I always order the spicy vegan bowl. Unfortunately, The portion keeps getting smaller, but the Janelle was great. Such a great person! Do they use real maple syrup or is it flavored corn syrup? Edit: it's flavored corn syrup, I just asked. It's rare to find a place that uses real maple syrup
