Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience here. The owner was rude, and the customer service was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The food was okay, but definitely overpriced for what we received. We also ordered water and were not told that we were being charged $2 per bottled water. I think customers should be informed about additional charges before being served. What bothered us the most was that as soon as our food came out, the owner placed the check on the table--even though we hadn't even started eating yet. It made us feel rushed and unwelcome. The food itself was just okay, but the poor customer service and overall experience made it not worth the price. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Arriving to the cafe we were greeted from the moment we walked in and got seated fairly quickly. We sat outside where they played some oldies, which was a plus because I loved the music of choice. The food was pretty good, the potatoes could use more flavor but overall the food was tasteful. The only complaint I have would be the 3.5% charge to use a card, so definitely will bring cash next time and no refills of drinks. They served bottle of waters and cans of sodas. Idk if that's a regular thing or if they don't have a soda machine, but that would be my only complaint from this place. Will come back again to try different foods on the menu. read more

My cousin and her boyfriend took me to this spot, and I have to admit -- the food and service were absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the aesthetic. It's simple but full of character, featuring cholo-style artwork inspired by Blood In, Blood Out, along with actor signatures that give the place a cool, authentic vibe. We were able to sit back, enjoy great company, and have an even better meal. The kids loved the breakfast burrito, waffles, and the classic breakfast plates. I ordered the chorizo omelette, and it did not disappoint -- generous chunks of perfectly cooked chorizo throughout. You can truly taste that everything is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. The country fried steak is incredible as well -- definitely worth trying. There's plenty of parking, including street parking since the restaurant sits on a corner. We waited about 10 minutes just to order our drinks, and the service overall was pretty slow. I ordered the pancake combo, and while the food was okay, both the eggs and pancake seemed undercooked. We also weren't really checked on while eating to see if we needed anything, such as extra condiments or refills. After finishing, we waited over 10 minutes for the check, but no one came by, so we eventually had to walk up to the front to pay. Overall, I was disappointed with both the food and the service. I probably wouldn't recommend it based on this experience, but I'm willing to consider that they may have just been overly busy that day. read more

George's Cafe in West Covina deserves every bit of five stars! The inside has such a throwback to 80-90s homie style, welcoming vibe, but it's also really beautiful and cozy at the same time. I ordered the waffle country fried steak and it was incredibly soft, tender, and comforting--perfectly cooked and easy to eat. The potatoes were exactly how breakfast potatoes should be: crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The French toast was also amazing--golden, flavorful, and perfectly indulgent. Found Georges cafe while on my morning dog walk. I was greeted by the server and she took me out to the patio to find a table. Many good selections on the menu for breakfast and i opted for the weekday special of sausage breakfast tacos. It comes with 3 scrambled egg and sausage tacos and a side of green chili salsa for 10.95 . It was just the right size and tasted great! I also ordered a coffee, but unfortunately it was luke warm, even when she topped it off. Service was fantastic! Amazing atmosphere, super interesting theme all from a local artist. Got here early on a Wednesday and talked with George about the art and his long experience in the food industry. He was kind and showed us around. The food showed up after we were done touring the art inside and outside of the restaurant. It was amazing. I lived in San Diego for a while and moved to Texas. Food came quickly. I arrived on Tuesday (8:30AM); the order took seven minutes. The country fried steak is delicious! It's lightly battered. The crust is subtly sweet, and the thin meat is hot and flavorful. It's not greasy. Rather, the portion is filling. Next, the potatoes are fresh and tasty; it's crispy outside and soft inside. Yum! The country gravy is also comforting and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, the eggs (I selected scrambled) are underwhelming. The scrambled eggs are salty, flat, mushy, and small. Regarding the location, George's Cafe is very clean. It's well ventilated, and the server is friendly and helpful. For example, the server had forgotten that I chose scrambled eggs; however, when asked, he immediately apologized and quickly fixed the order. [George's Cafe Notes] 1.
