This local mom-and-pop establishment serves up hearty portions the service cook and cashier super friendly. The house soups are a standout feature, brimming with flavor and warmth, making them a go-to remedy for those battling colds or simply seeking comfort menudo and chicken soup. And let's not forget about the chili fries - they're downright irresistible, with just the right amount of spice and crunch. But what truly sets this place apart is its delightful fusion of Mexican and American flavors, a culinary marriage that pleases both young and old alike. My kids absolutely love the diverse menu options, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. The ambiance is as inviting as can be, with a clean dining area and a welcoming atmosphere that caters to families. It's the kind of place where you can savor your meal. My cousin and I also went a few other times and had tacos, sopes, and pupusas which were all tasty. We were excited to see that the place had reopened. We got there a little before 10am on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026. We parked and a man in a parked car told us that the owner had not arrived and the restaurant was closed. According to the info online, they open at 10am. A woman showed up after 10:10am and we walked to the front to be let in. The first table we sat at was dirty so we moved a couple of tables over and same thing. My aunt mentioned that the bathroom was not clean. We asked for coffee and ordered 4 bowls of menudo. The red flag that we ignored was that it did not smell like menudo, or any other food for that matter--how is it that you enter a restaurant that serves menudo on the weekends and there is no aroma of it in the air?? We had assumed that the menudo was left slow-cooking over-night, like we do it at home lol. We were served chips, salsa, beans and our coffees but waited until 10:35am to be served menudo and it was terrible!! We are not the type of people to make a scene (we should have spoken up since we were the only patrons), and we ate the menudo begrudgingly. It didn't look or taste just made, I'm sure it was old---my three family members said it tasted like canned and old menudo. Trust when I say that that is not the same menudo we had two times before!! We all asked for 'pata' and we all got pezunas!! THEY WERE NOT PATAS! WTH??!! I wish I would have taken a picture of all four bowls. My aunt asked for a glass of water, and the waiter told her that they only had bottled water. Uhm, I've NEVER been to a restaurant that has said that--they ask if we want filtered tap water or bottled water. Most restaurants will bring you ice water with lemon if you ask but not here, here you need to buy the water. How do you not have filtered water? You are a restaurant and I'm sure you use water in some of your dishes. Are you using bottled water? Second red flag: No other customers came to the restaurant while we were there--we left about 11:40ish so it was nearing lunchtime. Needless to say, we will not be going back and it's disappointing because I'm a big advocate of supporting small businesses, especially mom and pop owned. I don't know what the other food tastes like but if the menudo is an indication, I definitely won't be back to try other platillos. To the owners, please bring back the freshness, sazon and flavor you once had and it would be nice if the restaurant opened earlier on the weekend. Most people like to eat menudo early in the morning lol.

The place looked run-down, the TVs weren't even set up, and there was a trash can sitting outside in the middle of the dining area. The person who greeted us was friendly, but other than that, nobody else was there. We ordered two chicken fettuccine Alfredo dishes, and one had broccoli added. For the broccoli upcharge, I got four pieces. That's definitely not worth paying extra for. We didn't order drinks, appetizers, or sides. The fettuccine itself was just okay--it lacked flavor. The "garlic bread" was the biggest surprise: two Hawaiian rolls with garlic butter. Seriously... what is that? Each pasta was listed at $17.95, yet my total came to $48, and the math just wasn't adding up. I wasn't given an itemized receipt, which made it even more frustrating. After noticing my reaction, they brought us a salad with lettuce that looked brown and a small side of pasta. I'm guessing it was their way of making up for it, but that doesn't justify charging me without being transparent. To make matters worse, the bathroom was dirty, which is always a major red flag. My friend really wanted to try the restaurant, so I just let it go and paid. Looking back, I shouldn't have. Moral of the story: If your gut tells you something feels off, trust it and walk away. Don't stay just to be polite--it's your hard-earned money. This experience taught me that from now on, if something doesn't feel right, I won't hesitate to leave, no matter who I'm with or where I am. Transparency is everything to me. If you're not honest with your customers or you overcharge people, you've already earned 1 star in my book. I can GUARANTEE this is my first and last time her, I'm surprised I didn't get food poisoning.
