Asada burrito only 13.99 and it's easy to order on door dash. The person who helped me was very nice and welcoming.
Was in the area and decided to try the carne asada nachos. They did not disappoint! Meat was tender and nachos were packed with good flavor. Service a was friendly as well. Def will be back to try more on the menu.
This is a market / restaurant with grand wooden tables . Service is excellent the friendliest woman will take your order call you sweetheart and bring hot homemade food to you no number calling no checking to see if you're next just sit back and wait. Pupusas are fat fresh and delicious they have Lorica and queso which is a unique asparagus like flower bud served with cheese and soo good and definitely a must try !
El Pilon is an unassuming spot in a strip mall that's part bodega, part carniceria, part counter-order restaurant; don't let that fool you though - the food is first class and the prices are right. Everything is made to order so our tacos came out nice and hot. I got al pastor and carne asada - both very flavorful, they satisfied my taco cravings! The salsa bar was self-serve, very fresh and they had the perfect amount of kick to them. What sets this place apart is the staff. Seriously, these are just the nicest, nicest people running this store. So welcoming, friendly, and patient while we mulled over the giant menu. I'll need to come back to try those carne asada fries!
My enchiladas tasted amazing, it satisfied my craving of enchiladas very much! This plate was well worth the affordable price. The woman who assisted me with my order here was so kind and welcoming. She is so sweet. I loved how relaxed of a place it was for dining in, I went dressed completely casual and it felt like I was at home here. Restaurant quality meal with the dining at home comfort. I will definitely be coming back again.
Everything here from the food to the service was immaculate. A really chill, hole-in-the-wall type place with the warmest staff and tasty, authentic food. Our order of carne asada fries were fried to perfection, and all the toppings melded together to create a symphony of flavors in my mouth. I also ordered some pollo and grilled camaron tacos, and the shrimps couldn't be better cooked. It had a nice char on it with the right balance of flavors. The chicken on the hand was a bit dry and not seasoned as aggressively, which made me wish I only ordered the shrimp tacos. I would definitely return to try more items on the menu.
I'd recommend this place based on customer service alone. Staff was friendly felt like you were in grandmas kitchen. I had the carne asada fries. My wife made her own taco sampler with chicken, asada, and el pastor. Daughter had her usual chicken quesadilla. All the food was very flavorful. My fav was the asada. Price was decent and serving size was plenty. Def come again but probably try the torta or burrito.
I saw the Lottery sign from outside and wanted to buy some tickets. As soon as we walked in the smell of delicious food filled the air. Too bad I wasn't hungry or I would've ordered some dinner and ate there, they have tables inside. The cashier was very nice as we talked while she printed out my Lottery tickets.
Two Chiles Rellenos -- El Pilon Market & Restaurant 322 S Glendora Ave, West Covina, CA 91790 Originally $10.95 -- now $15.95 -- and still absolutely worth going back. This plate ranks in the Top Ten Chiles Rellenos I've experienced across the entire country. From New Orleans, Louisiana to Biloxi, Mississippi, from Erie, Pennsylvania to Washington D.C., Bar Harbor, Maine to NYC, Madison, Wisconsin to St. Paul, Minnesota, Bismarck, North Dakota to Denver, Colorado, Santa Fe, New Mexico to Phoenix, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada to Pasadena and Covina, California -- I've walked the map and tasted many, but this one stands out. Perfectly battered, generously filled, flavorful without being greasy. The texture, temperature, and seasoning were exactly right. The rice and beans were fresh and authentic Corn Tortillas FRESHLY MADE-- NO SHORTCUTS. This wasn't just a meal -- it was a moment along my Sovereign Person Pathway. A side journey of spirit, hunger, memory, and meaning. The kind of food that finds you right where you are and reminds you of where you've been. El Pilon is a gem. Whether you're local or walking your own journey across America -- this stop is flame-worthy. Don't miss it. Service Is Good and Market pay first then they bring it to you. However when you pay get yourself a glass of water or other many Beverages they offer. Ask for Salsa sauce solo cups so you can get off the little salsa bar (no ice-- i feel like it should be iced however i still enjoyed the green salsa my favorite) Ambiance is sitting in a Mexican Market for EXCELLENT food.
Came here with a group of friends. We were craving recovery menudo and it hit the spot. There is a great ambience here. Service is also great and you're made to feel at home.
We were craving carne asada fries and this came up as a top search on our feed. Walking in you'll see all the market goods up front, they also have vegetables, milk, etc. Basically a mini market. There's a counter for food service, which we ordered carne asada fries and a quesadilla. Once we got our order, we saw the portions and they were huge! The carne asada fries were nicely loaded and the quesadilla is pretty huge. It's nice it also came with guac and sour cream. The carne asada fries were just as we expected and it was all pretty good. The quesadilla could also be a bit too heavy from all the cheese, but my bf really enjoyed it. Solid joint! It's the most authentic taste we tried!
Amazing carne Asada fries!!!! Well seasoned carne Asada, with fresh toppings, and crispy fries. Easy to share between two people. Love the price only $13.99. There is plenty of parking and seats inside. Like cafeteria seating. Super clean and the service was super nice they bring out the food to you if dining in. The wait took a while but it's worth it because you know you are getting everything made to order. I would definitely come here again to try the other food
Was looking for a good burrito place on Yelp and I stumbled onto this place. Had never been here before and their reviews looked good so I decided to them a try. I was not disappointed! I got the wet green chile pork burrow and it's delicious! My mother got carne asada burrito and dad got chicken and they both loved them! Dad said chicken has good flavor and that is usually hard to come by. Will definitely come back.

Absolutely appreciate the quality in service and food. El Pilon always makes hosting parties a pleasant experience. We always call a week ahead to ensure the order is ready for pickup. They never disappoint. They always greet you with a smile there. They also offer delicious meals for someone to enjoy. If you're in the Covina area, you should stop by and get yourself something good to eat. The place is awesome; they have beverages, fresh meats, savory meals and a calm ambiance. read more

It's a liquor store that also sells made to order food. Made me think of bodegas in NYC in some ways. Ppl there are friendly and nice. Food we got was good. Pricing is affordable. Tuesdays they have specials on chicken/pastor tacos $1.50. Fresh salsa area. Seating area. A/C read more

Ordered 15 minutes ahead of time and it was ready when I came in. It's a great sized portion plate for the price. It's also a market which is convenient if you need to pick up meats or any snacks and refreshments are available as well. They have spices, sauces, and a huge variety on the menu. The restaurant is clean and organized, and there are several tables and chairs. Conveniently located in the parking lot across from the apartments read more

I ordered this today on DoorDash and they gave me shredded beef Taquitos instead of chicken, added cheese when I requested for none, and the tamale was interesting lol pure masa. I do like a lot of masa but it was all masa. I wish merchants would read requests cause not only is it wasted money it's wasted food :/ maybe I will try at the restaurant cause the other reviews are really good. read more
The food is great! Just like homemade and authentic Mexican food which can be hard to find. I'd say this is the veSt one in the vicinity. Came several years ago for the first time. I can't believe I had not reviewed it. The tortas are my favorite ! They are big so you can share if you come accompanied. Today i tried torta de lomo. It's very tasty ! The torta bread is on good and toasty. The champurrado is 7/10 needs some cinnamon. I've had other food too. All yummy. Taquitos, tostada, tacos. Plus big portions. :) Service is great. As long as I've been coming it's the same person and she's super friendly. Ambiance It's a meat market with a restaurant & Mexican snacks. There are tables to sit down. It's not a fancy restaurant it's like an og Mexican spot in the neighborhood. Let me know what you tried. Oh. It's lent, almost Easter, so they have a Lent menu with tortitas de camaron & capirotada and more ! IYKYK :D yum ! read more

An eatery and market all in one. They sell snacks, drinks, cuts of various meats, lottery tickets, and drinks. I've had the food twice now, once to go and once dine in. There are a handful of tables for dining in and a very small salsa bar in the center of the place. The service is very friendly and pretty quick. Parking is shared with many businesses so I can imagine it getting busy during peak hours. There are no public restrooms though. read more

My in laws live super close to El Pilon, but we only recently discovered it. I think it will become a regular spot. We got: tacos de asada, birria, AL pastor and pollo. All were delicious and soo full of meat. Tacos were $2.75 each, which is the norm these days. We also got chicken nachos and carne asada fries. Both were very good but a little heavy on the nacho cheese so they got soggy fast. The rice here is so good!! So soft and fluffy. I believe it is $2.99 for 16 oz and $5.99 for 32 oz. Service is also efficient and friendly. One thing I noticed is that there is a little bit of a surcharge if you pay with a credit card. read more

The place is small but cozy. There are tons of food options for affordable pricing. They have a good amount of regulars that the cashier greets by name. So you know it's a local favorite. The parking area is big, and there's no limit. The amazing thing this place comes with is multiple drink options and sides you can buy, so the experience feels complete. There are also options for you to make your meat at home and the sides and condiments there. And I love that there's ice cream or ice lolis options for you to have a complete dining experience Carne asada nachos: comes with sour cream, guacamole, refried beans, nacho cheese AND shredded cheese, and a good amount of meat! The birria tacos are amazing and deadly! It's so good and melts in your mouth that I'm glad this place is not near me The shrimp tacos are good with a thousand island dressing sauce and thinly slices cabbages. The pork tacos are good, but for me, the asada hits differently. If you want to try a local favorite, come by this place. And you need to order before 6 pm. Sometimes even 6pm they'll close kitchen because they're soo popular. read more

Tacos are amazing here!! Came here to grab dinner for Valentines since it was on a Tuesday(Taco Tuesday). Cabeza here was on point it was the best taco out of the four taco meats I got. carne asada, al pastor and Chicken all had good flavor. Their carne asada nachos was bomb, had a mix of shredded cheese with nacho cheese. Their sour cream and guacamole on top gave each nacho bit great flavor. Their burrito was huge and packed with meat which was cabeza and rice. beans with cilantro and onions. Top it with their green salsa or avocado salsa and takes the food to another level Overall food here is great and good portions, will be coming back soon! read more

This place is a hidden gem! It is a cute spot loved by locals for their fresh produce section along with a full menu to order their delicious Mexican dishes. I got the Carne asada fries which were perfectly paired with bomb ass crisp cut fries and savory carne asada. My new favorite spot! Don't forget to get their horchata!! read more
