It's Sunday means BBQ at our house, and stop at Mr. Meats. The quality of their meat is consistently excellent, and their prepared carne asada, pollo asado, and costillas are the reason we keep coming back. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and ready for the grill, which makes entertaining family and friends so much easier. This weekend we had family visiting from out of state, and one thing they always say they miss is the authentic Mexican flavors. As soon as the meat hit the grill, everyone gathered around. The aroma alone had people asking when dinner would be ready, and after the first bite, there wasn't much talking just people going back for seconds. What really stands out about Mr. Meats is the consistency. Every visit, the prepared meats are fresh, high quality, and cook up tender and juicy with incredible flavor. You can tell they care about what they're selling, and it shows in the final product. This place is fire! 100% my go to for any carne asada, pollo you name it. If I'm grilling meats I'm going to MR. MEATS! Friendly butchers and staff! Let me put it this way it was very worth driving 45 minutes out of my way to pick up this meat. Great quality. Everyone at the bbq was asking me where I got the meat from so. Shout out to Mr. Meats! I got 6 pounds of carne asada, 3 pounds chicken, and a chorizo. 104 bucks total. Fed 10 people happily! Everything was grilled on mesquite charcoal and when I said flavor house I mean damn it was good! They got it all for your bbq, sauces, tortillas I mean everything. So if you missed picking up from the local market, just know they will have it here. We've been searching for a good carneceria for a while, and we finally found a great spot! We used to go to a carneceria closer to home that would hide older, tough cuts of meat under the nice pieces of meat. Montebello is a bit of drive but the quality of this place makes it worth it :) meat is delish, the service was awesome and we will come back for the next carne asada! read more

Store ambiance 5/5 Service 4.5/5 Food 4.5/5! Ok! New place and they did not disappoint! Sauces tortillas, chips, charcoals, fresh veggies all ready for you to cook or grill some meats, they also carry Japanese wagyu for $79.99 a pound. Ok! See you next time! Been following Mr. Meats for years on Instagram. Finally made the drive over and I can tell you there is something that sets them apart. They are about the community and always giving back. I'd recommend following them on social media because when LA wins, we all win. Reasonably priced meat is hard to find in this economy without cutting into quality. But there is no other place that has prime ranchera for 10.99 a pound. There's times where they price it at 9.99 if dodgers or lakers win. There's times where he just says it's raining and it's 9.99 a pound. There's no reason for the madness just someone who loves what they are doing. The meat is seasoned perfectly and paired well with their house made salsa. They have a small grocery counter for anything you need for your carne asada. I would definitely opt for the chicken as well. Probably the best meat market in the SGV / LA area. They take EBT. They are clean. It taste good. Service is great and they hook you up. Worst meat in Los Angeles! We just spent $250 worth of Ranchera and it is Horrible!! The marinade is sweet, overpowering the meat! The chicken is just literally taken out of its packaging and dowsed with some orange marinade that doesn't provide any flavor just an orange color. Definitely better places out there. Run, don't walk to Mr. Meats in Montebello! I've driven past this establishment for years and always wanted to check it out. We made it in today and my only regret is that we didn't go sooner!! Upon entering we were greeted and welcomed. The place is CLEAN (doesn't smell like your typical carniceria). We ordered an assortment of meats- steaks, carne asada, short rib and chicken. We went home and threw it all on the BBQ.... and WOW!! We couldn't stop eating it before we served it. It was absolutely delicious!! My husband is very particular about his carne and he's blown away at their tenderness, quality and taste! Always happy to support local businesses! The owner was gracious, humble and friendly!! When you enter the store, they will default to speaking to you in mandarin, but you can ask them to speak English. They're quick to pack up your order and even gave me a small bundle of cilantro as a gift. Maybe it's because I came later in the day or because we bought a good amount. We tried the normal beef, premium beef, lean beef, and premium beef tongue. I would say the normal beef a bit too fatty for my liking, but that's why they offer the lean option. The premium beef is between the lean and normal beef in terms of fat to meat ratio. It's well marbled. They ran out of normal beef tongue so we had to get the premium. Pricey but delicious and definitely our favorite. Although I've never had bad beef tongue before. Overall, everything was fresh, containers were labeled, and service was quick. Prices are fair as it is still a lot more economical than going to a restaurant. They take credit card with a minimum purchase. Parking is available and shared among all the shops in the plaza.

Located on busy Garvey, in between San Gabriel Ave. and New. Right next to the McDonalds. Parking is tight, 10-15 cars maximum, but plenty of street parking. The entire store front is in Mandarin, all the signals inside is as well. Only bits of English on some merchandise they sell that is non-meat. When you enter: 1. Service counter straight ahead is for all cuts of lamb and beef. I did not venture into this portion since I didn't need any of that. 2. Small side table on the left with the plethora of freezers and fridges is where you will need to go. There is signage of the floor that marks for social distancing, woot woot! Alexander's (in Howie's Market) has been our go-to for quality meats for the last ten years…read more Sometimes a Costco steak hits just fine, but sometimes you want that juicy, marbled American Wagyu and they have had it here without fail. It's not "fake" American wagyu that's barely prime grade either--the marbling is a perfect balance between the richness of Australian/Japanese wagyus and a regular prime. The staff here are generally friendly and very helpful, and work hard to get you what you want. The only issue I've had over the years was one of the older guys behind the counter charging us for something much more expensive than what we actually asked for, and we had to drive all the way back to get a refund. Not sure what the deal was since we ran into him when getting the refund and he seemed annoyed rather than apologetic lol. But! Aside from that, everyone's great. When they're busy, grab a number from the corner and they'll call. There's a great selection in the case of just about every type of meat including fresh seafood. Bought a slab of Icelandic cod today as well because it looked so nice. If you order a lot, they'll ring you up in the back, otherwise they'll let you bring it to the front checkout to pay.

The employee flipped through a notebook and couldn't even locate one of my son's memberships. We left because my son's patience was gone, which is directly related to his autism. This entire experience left a very sour taste. If a business offers social recreation services through Regional Center, accurate hours and organized membership records are essential. What's even more upsetting is that I later discovered Regional Center was charged for six months of membership, even though we never attended or used the membership at all. I never signed a contract agreeing to ongoing charges. I also received a text stating the membership would not be active if we didn't attend--yet they still billed Regional Center. Also, never extended services. Between the inaccurate hours, lack of accommodation, disorganization, and billing issues, I would not recommend this business to Regional Center families.
