I grew up in La Jolla San Diego, and we used to go to the original Broken Yolk location in Pacific Beach on Garnet throughout my childhood. It was a favorite breakfast for me then, and it continues to be to this day. I have been to most of the locations, both in CA and out of state, and this Glendora location was one of the very last that I have not been to. We had a great breakfast and it was a delicious meal like always. This location is new and very large. Inside is bright and open and has a full bar and tons of seating available, both indoor and outdoor. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. Pricing is also very fair. I pretty much get the same thing every time, which is the Messy Caramel Latte to start, which is a must, and I do a Create Your Own Omelette. I always do chorizo, goat cheese, avocado, and tomato, and top it with hollandaise. It's something I dream about in between visits, and it always hits the spot. The only part of the meal that wasn't great was the side of fruit was very stale and the pineapple was completely dry. Something I can overlook though as it hasn't happened before at other locations. I would highly suggest this for breakfast or lunch to anyone and everyone of all ages.

Who says brunch has to be mid-morning when you can come to Broken Yolk and get breakfast in the mid-afternoon? My server was kind and welcoming, and this location is spacious and clean. Let's not forget that the portions are fairly generous for the price, which is always a win. I went with the Choose Two Benedicts to try a couple different flavors -- the Border Benedict and Sope Benedict. Both were decent, but honestly a little bland and could've used more seasoning. The home fries, though? Delicious. Crispy, flavorful, and definitely the standout. Overall, Broken Yolk is a solid brunch option, especially for bigger parties. Nothing blew me away, but it's a reliable spot when the breakfast craving hits... even at 2 PM.

When our family first tried this outfit about 1-1/2 ago, I was not impressed with the service that when we decided to go there this time around, it was a lackluster choice. However, this time around our experience was truly enjoyable that it will now become our breakfast place of choice. The service that Jessica gave was really outstanding that it made a difference. She was always attentive to filling up my cup with their robust & warm coffee. In fact, their hollandaise sauce on their Eggs Benedict is one of the tastiest we have had, none of those gourmet tangy versions but straightforward old-time creamy & eggy sauce. More importantly, their outside dining patio were spacious enough to fit strollers & enjoy a bright & sunny day.

I dined at this restaurant several times and food was good. Great customer service. However, on this day felt rushed, had to ask for more coffee and the Eggs Benedict were hastily served. Eggs were overcooked, not properly placed on the muffin and were dry.

Visited for the first time with family from New York. The food was delicious, the service impeccable -- shoutout to Miley for being super attentive, friendly, and flexing her bilingual skills to help my family out by speaking in Spanish. Would definitely recommend this spot for an elevated breakfast experience compared to a traditional diner.

Betty's Southern Biscuit & Gravy with fried chicken | 06/26/26

Service is great, plenty of seating. Food comes out quick. We ordered Biscuits & Gravy with Fried Chicken Tenders and the Mom Omelette. Both were pretty good and super heavy tip, we packed them up for tmrws leftovers. The omelette's toppings arent mixed in with the egg and cooked together. Its more of an egg wrapped with the toppings.

Ask the Community - Broken Yolk Cafe

How is the take out service?

Hi Tom, We do have excellent take out service available for either pick up or delivery through our website.

Are they pet friendly?

Yes, they have a long patio where dogs are welcome.

Hi! Can you order sandwiches in the morning?

Hi Ariel, The full menu is available all day!

Are they open on Christmas Day?

Until 1:30 pm

Do you have a Doggie menu?

Hi Taylor, We have some items that we recommend for our doggy visitors such as a beef patty, bacon/eggs, or a peanut butter cup.

Is there a baby changing table in the restroom?

Hi Randi, Yes, we do have baby changing tables available in our bathrooms!

Is there a happy hour?

I would say that every hour there is a "happy hour" the way the staff act, but no, they do not have a happy hour. They are typically closed by late afternoon anyway.

Can you guys accommodate a party of 25 on the patio ? If so how would I go about reserving this if no one answers the phone?

Hi Brittany, Please send your request and information to our location's email Glendora@brokenyolkcafe.com. Our team will follow up with you as soon as possible, thank you!

Do they use real maple syrup or is it flavored corn syrup? Edit: it's flavored corn syrup, I just asked. It's rare to find a place that uses real maple syrup

Hello Dan, We do use a syrup that contains some corn syrup but we do offer agave or honey for a healthier option. Hope that helps!

Are you currently asking for proof of vaccination?

Hello Daisy, We are not requiring proof of vaccination but we are currently following the mask mandate. Hope that helps!

Can I take my dog with me out in the patio area?

Yes we just ask that they stay on the outside Patio and not walk through the resturant.

Given the new CDC guidelines, is there still a 5 person limit to the party seating? We have 7 are were planning to go tomorrow. Will we be able to sit together?

Hello! We went awhile back and we had 6 people and we didn't have an issue. Probably better to call.

Hello will you be using YELP Waitlist ?i t's so helpful & makes going to restaurants so much easier & more accessible. Not having it is a deterrent Thanks

I did ask about that when I was there, because there was still capacity limitations. I was told that there is a possibility, but for now there are using their internal operations system.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes! In the patio area.

How long is the wait, typically, on a Saturday morning?

30-45 minutes but they will put you on the list and tell you an approximate charge so you leave home a few mins before. We went last weekend. They gave us a 30 mins wait so we booked from home and left 20 later and once there and parked we were…

What is the current party limit?

They limit parties to 5 per table, but you can have more people you would just have to sit at different tables

Still no bottomless mimosas? :/

No bottomless mimosas, but we have MEGA-mosas and mimosa flights!

Do they accept reservations?

No reservations needed!

Will it be open on 4th of July?

Yes!

Do they take reservations? Will it be busy Christmas Day?

They don't take reservations

The service was extremely slow to start--we waited a while just for water and to get drink orders taken. We ordered the Ahi tuna appetizer, which was good, but the course pacing completely fell apart after that. Our salads took 25 minutes to arrive. Before I could even get the fresh ground pepper I requested, our main courses were rushed to the table while we hadn't even started our salads. The food quality was unacceptable for an upscale restaurant: Both my wife and I ordered our steaks medium-rare. Mine arrived completely leathery, dry as a bone, and thoroughly overcooked. I didn't eat a single bite of it. My wife's steak arrived medium-well, and her side of rice was completely dry. The bottle of red wine we ordered from their very small wine list was served warm. When we declined having the steak re-fired or free dessert, we finished our wine and asked for the check. The $62 inedible steak was still on the bill, so I asked to speak with the owner. When I calmly explained the issues, the owner became angry that I didn't want the steak redone and walked away mid-conversation. He eventually came back, removed the $62 steak, and told us he didn't want us back in his restaurant. To top it off, for an establishment charging fine-dining prices where guests dress up, the owner was wearing shorts and sneakers. One chance is all a restaurant gets to make a good impression. Lincoln House missed the mark completely. We will not be returning.

If on a tight budget, the Good Company (Covina) is a prime location for casual drinking or hangout. It's food is not bad, but you can taste its affordability. I arrived on Saturday (around 5:40PM). Customers walk to the counter and order. Staff (Omar) is friendly and hardworking. He's seen constantly moving and interacting with guests. My orders arrived quickly. The Cheeseburger Bun was ready in 5 minutes and 36 seconds. The Matcha Berry Affogato arrived at my table in 9 minutes and 20 seconds. The food's presentation is memorable. The Cheeseburger Bun ($6) includes wagyu ground beef, melted American cheese, thinly sliced pickle, and fried thin onion slivers. Eating it with the white bun reminded me of sloppy joe in a soft taco. This very wet, mushy meal is cheesy and oily. Still, it's filling and cheesy with a very affordable price-point. The Matcha Berry Affogato ($6) is a scoop of ice cream swimming in a lake of liquid matcha. The flavors are decent but not memorable. The ice cream was chill and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, the liquid matcha arrived almost lukewarm. It would have been much more refreshing if the entire dish came cold. The presentation is eye-catching, but it lacked any real taste. Still, it's a very affordable experience. Concerning ambiance, The Good Company (Covina) performs extremely well. The location is very clean and comfortable with upbeat & fun music. There's also one flatscreen tv in the corner with closed captioning english subtitles. The location is well-ventilated, and the furniture all look very new and well-maintained. Even though the location is small, the colors and decor make it feel spacious and comfortable. Overall, The Good Company (Covina) is a good, budget hangout location. The food has an attractive appearance but its taste is unfortunately comparable to premium fast food. If heading there, bring good company and you'll definitely have a good time. 4 out of 5

The place was the sh*t. I've come here several times over the past couple years and it's more and more dead at the restaurant every time. The waitresses are absolutely dreadful. Every request is forgotten or takes 20 mins to arrive at the table. When we arrived we waited 20 mins for a waitress. We asked for some sauce, they forgot. We ordered a pizza, which was delivered to the wrong table. When we wanted to leave, the check took 20 mins as well. Now I have a crying baby and I'm waiting for them to try and split the check two ways and I eventually give up knowing that the task is too much for them to handle and just pay it all on one card. We had to track down the waitresses multiple times. It's like they have NO ability to anticipate the needs of their customers. "They ordered, pizza, maybe I should bring some plates". Nope! "They'll probably want their sauce before the food item is ICE COLD". Nope! Anytime we went into the restaurant the girls were on their phones. There were five tables in the restaurant tonight so there really was no excuse. I think this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the reputation of the old Congregation Ale House kept me coming back even when time after time, the service was abysmal, however, now that Congregation's former glory is thoroughly tarnished I can honestly say that I will not be coming back and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Quality like this cannot be tolerated. Travis, the former owner, would be ashamed of this fall from grace. R.I.P. Congregation Ale House
