Because the Yolk's on me You played your part perfectly Went to me Just a pretty dream... Nothing like Yolking around with the fam to start the day. 4/5 Food Food was good nothing that is out of this world. What surprised my wife and I was how large the kids meal was. Portions are large which is probably why this is a popular breakfast spot, maybe the mimosas as well. 3/5 Service When we arrived we put our name down and sat insids to wait. They had a lot of tables open and had people waiting (weird but okay). Once we were sat down we didnt have a server come by until a manager came by to ask us if we had been helped. He got our drinks started and had a server come by to take our order. Good thing the kids had a menu they could color and keep entertained. They must have been short staffed because it seemed like all the servers were all over the place. We were overcharged for coffees so had to have them remove one. 4/5 Parking It can get crowded and hard to find a spot. Especially during the weekends it seems to be a club atmosphere with brunch. (Dancing to put yout name on the list). Overall maybe next time we will have better service but we had a pleasant experience. Psalm 16:1, God bless

too much food to even fit in one pic!

Tried something new yesterday since I wasn't super hungry, the açaí bowl, and it didn't disappoint. It went nicely with the tropical mimosa flight. The pear mimosa was my fav on the flight. My only complaint - how does a breakfast spot not carry peanut butter?! I asked for some on the side since the bowl didn't come with any, and the waitress said they don't carry peanut butter.

Broken Yolk Cafe is truly a local staple for brunch! We came on a rainy Sunday morning and were seated fairly quickly (within 10 minutes). The hostess was super kind and our server was very attentive, checking in with us often. We ended up ordering two savory dishes and one sweet dish to share: El Fuego Omelette: 5/5 The El Fuego omelette was so flavorful and there was a very nice kick of spice from the chorizo! The guacamole and pico de gallo added a refreshing twist and really elevated the dish as a whole. As for the omelette itself, it was cooked perfectly and there was a good amount of cheese, jalapeño and chorizo filling on the inside. This is honestly one of the best omelettes I have ever had, highly recommend! Classic Eggs Benedict and Chicken and Waffle Benedict: 4/5 We ended up doing the "Choose Any Two" and ending up selecting the classic eggs benedict and chicken and waffles benedict. The classic eggs benedict was delicious and was smothered in their creamy hollandaise sauce while the egg was beautifully poached to perfection. As for the chicken and waffle benedict, the taste was decent but we would not go for it again. We weren't a big fan of the hollandaise sauce and poached egg being paired with the chicken and waffle, and the waffle ended up being soggy at the bottom. However their classic eggs benedict is still a must try! Tiki Toast: 5/5 The tiki toast was so fluffy and grilled to a beautiful golden brown while the caramel drizzle on top added an additional depth of flavor! The coconut shreds on top were also not too overpowering and the berries scattered around the dish were very fresh. While the dish was already drenched with syrup the toast slices were still crispy on the outside. This dish is a perfect choice for those who have a sweet tooth! Overall, the experience here at Broken Yolk Cafe was a 5/5 on both food and service. The dishes have a fusion of different cultural foods and are very unique compared to other brunch places. The servers provide fantastic and quick service and I would 100% visit again!

The Mom Omelet

it doesn't look bad but my food tasted like popcorn butter and the biscuit was not what i expected a biscuit to be.... it was like a mariott hotel ultra processed biscuit. it smelled like it came out of a bag and was disappointing for the price. We spent $50 there on two entrees and did not feel welcoming there. I ordered a pineapple coconut drink that was supposed to come with a big pineapple wedge and a strawberry . came with a dirty tiny old orange and a dirty strawberry! i'm saddened because i really wanted to try this place but i don't think it was for us... also our server kept asking if we were okay but it was every two seconds and given how all the staff kept staring at us along with the customers i felt like a fish in a bowl.

We visited the Glendora location on a Tuesday at 11. We got sat in a booth in the corner and sadly did not have great service. It was very noticeable that our waitress was not tending to us or other tables in the same section. Not sure if the restaurant was short staffed, but it really affected our experience. We had to ask someone else to bring us waters because our waitress did not come back for a long time. The food took forever, we even noticed a table get their food before us even though we sat before them. Although the food was good, per usual, the experience sucked and made me question if I'd like to go back.

We were a party of two and we went in one hour before closing on a busy Saturday. There was a five minutes wait and we were seated right after that. Server was nice and knew the menu by heart and took really good care of us. Food came out quick "see pictures". Everything tasted delicious my first time here and definitely will not be my last time. I highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch. Ambience was nice mixed crowd, but it was a full house so that's where you know they are doing something right, good job!

Love this restaurant for breakfast! Customer service is on point on all levels. Love that they have a balloon person walking around the restaurant making creative balloons for the little ones. The food is delicious and the coffee hit the spot. We also enjoyed some lemon ricotta pancakes (no picture). Wish there was a location closer to Alhambra.

Cali burrito great flavor, to bad it's served with cold rice and bad tasting beans!

Don't think we will be returning. I come here because we are local and I usually enjoy the open eating area and the staff are so friendly. But the food keeps going down hill. The temperatures are never hot. I don't understand because they have food servers, who just pick up and bring the food from the warmers, but our food is always just like warm to cold. This day was no different. Husband ordered the Cali burrito with the rice and beans on the side. The burrito came out hot not with house potatoes but with hash browns in it. The rice was cold and the beans tasted burnt. The waitress brought out new rice but it was still cold. She apologized and offered another side, he went with fries. I ordered the American breakfast. Corned beef has, hash browns, eggs over easy and sourdough toast. The eggs were over easy but only one had runny yolk the other was solid, hash browns were warm, but the corned beef was super hot, I tried to flag someone down for, but no one was there. I ate my 1 good egg and the perfect corned beef hash. By the time the waitress came around it was too late to really say anything about the hashbrowns. I didn't want new ones, I wanted to eat my breakfast as a whole. I didn't let her know about it, and how I could not even have my toast, which I did specify "well toasted" came out cold and rubbery, I could not even dip it into both eggs, because the 1 egg was over cooked. I mean you name on the restaurant is "6 Yolk". You guys should be able to cook your eggs perfectly. She brought me new toast, so I just had it with jam. I used to love coming here with my friends, family, and little dates with my kids, but now, it's not worth it, half the time, they don't make the hot chocolate the same, it depends which waitress you have, and now with the food never being served hot. I don't think we will be back!

Had a great experience at Broken Yolk in Glendora! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the restaurant was very clean and tidy. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Highly recommended!

We had such a great experience here! Nataly and Searrah were both exceptional--Nataly wasn't even our server, but when we mentioned we didn't enjoy our coffees, she took it upon herself to help us get fresh ones. They were absolutely delicious! Our actual server, Searrah was super quick and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed the entire time. Now for the food--the pumpkin pancakes are to die for! Just a heads-up, they're huge, so come hungry. The Impossible sausage was tasty with a little kick to it, so be prepared if you're sensitive to spice. And definitely try the hot coffees--they're a must! I'm leaving at least 10 pounds heavier, but a very happy 10 pounds heavier. Highly recommend!

Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs ($18.95)
Ian A.

I left Broken Yolk Cafe (Glendora) satisfied. It's not perfect; however, this location offers a comfortable ambiance, large portions, and fresh options. I enjoyed most of the Chicken-Fried Steak & Eggs ($18.95). I arrived at Broken Yolk Cafe (Glendora) on Wednesday (7:00AM - opening time). I was the first customer; about 34 minutes later, groups of customers started to arrive. My server (receipt says Seny) is hardworking, informative, and welcoming. Seny explained the menu; Seny was professional and informative; and Seny gave good recommendations. Even when Seny wasn't at my table, Seny was working nonstop in the background. However, this location felt very short staffed. When more customers arrived, I noticed how much slower everything became. I ordered the Chicken-Fried Steak & Eggs ($18.95). For its two eggs, I selected scrambled. My selected sides were the hash browns and blueberry muffin. My order arrived within 15 minutes and 12 seconds. Good pace. I absolutely adored the fresh, crisp hash browns and blueberry muffin. The hash browns were a solid, fresh quality which are uncommon nowadays in other similar breakfast joints. The blueberry muffin was also spectacular as it arrived very hot and freshly baked; it's spongey, gently sweet, and moist. Concerning the Chicken-Fried Steak, it's cooked and presented well. I loved how this chicken-fried steak had a thin, crisp crust. I also enjoyed how it's well-seasoned. Unfortunately, its creamy gravy is an acquired taste. This gravy had an unusual faint perfume/floral aftertaste, and its seasoning was very light. The chicken-fried steak is still a solid option, and the large portion is satisfying. Ironically, the eggs were the worst part of this meal. The scrambled eggs were the coldest ingredients on the plate. These eggs arrived very lukewarm and wet. The eggs were the biggest afterthought of this dish. I also had a cup of water. Unfortunately, it had that strong off-putting, tap water taste. Regarding ambiance, Broken Yolk Cafe (Glendora) is very clean, charming, and spacious. It's well-ventilated and well-decorated. There's a tremendous amount of shiny tables and chairs. Also, this location includes four visible, muted flat screen televisions showing the ESPN+ and sport networks. Curiously, only one television had english captioning subtitles. The other three TVs just had muted talking with no subtitles, so they were the least functional and useful. Thankfully, this location had soothing, upbeat music. Overall, I had a good experience at the Broken Yolk Cafe (Glendora). The Chicken-Fried Steak & Eggs ($18.95) is a decent option. I left with pleasant memories. 4.5 out of 5

Hi! Can you order sandwiches in the morning?

Hi Ariel, The full menu is available all day!

Are they open on Christmas Day?

Until 1:30 pm

Do you have a Doggie menu?

Is there a baby changing table in the restroom?

Hi Randi, Yes, we do have baby changing tables available in our bathrooms!

Is there a happy hour?

I would say that every hour there is a "happy hour" the way the staff act, but no, they do not have a happy hour. They are typically closed by late afternoon anyway.

Can you guys accommodate a party of 25 on the patio ? If so how would I go about reserving this if no one answers the phone?

Hi Brittany, Please send your request and information to our location's email Glendora@brokenyolkcafe.com. Our team will follow up with you as soon as possible, thank you!

Do they use real maple syrup or is it flavored corn syrup? Edit: it's flavored corn syrup, I just asked. It's rare to find a place that uses real maple syrup

Hello Dan, We do use a syrup that contains some corn syrup but we do offer agave or honey for a healthier option. Hope that helps!

Are you currently asking for proof of vaccination?

Hello Daisy, We are not requiring proof of vaccination but we are currently following the mask mandate. Hope that helps!

Can I take my dog with me out in the patio area?

Yes we just ask that they stay on the outside Patio and not walk through the resturant.

Given the new CDC guidelines, is there still a 5 person limit to the party seating? We have 7 are were planning to go tomorrow. Will we be able to sit together?

Hello! We went awhile back and we had 6 people and we didn't have an issue. Probably better to call.

Hello will you be using YELP Waitlist ?i t's so helpful & makes going to restaurants so much easier & more accessible. Not having it is a deterrent Thanks

I did ask about that when I was there, because there was still capacity limitations. I was told that there is a possibility, but for now there are using their internal operations system.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes! In the patio area.

How long is the wait, typically, on a Saturday morning?

30-45 minutes but they will put you on the list and tell you an approximate charge so you leave home a few mins before. We went last weekend. They gave us a 30 mins wait so we booked from home and left 20 later and once there and parked we were… Read more

I had hoped to be organized and make a reservation, but didn't have a final number until we arrived before dinner. If on a tight budget, the Good Company (Covina) is a prime location for casual drinking or hangout. It's food is not bad, but you can taste its affordability. I arrived on Saturday (around 5:40PM). Customers walk to the counter and order. Staff (Omar) is friendly and hardworking. He's seen constantly moving and interacting with guests. My orders arrived quickly. The Cheeseburger Bun was ready in 5 minutes and 36 seconds. The Matcha Berry Affogato arrived at my table in 9 minutes and 20 seconds. The food's presentation is memorable. The Cheeseburger Bun ($6) includes wagyu ground beef, melted American cheese, thinly sliced pickle, and fried thin onion slivers. Eating it with the white bun reminded me of sloppy joe in a soft taco. This very wet, mushy meal is cheesy and oily. Still, it's filling and cheesy with a very affordable price-point. The Matcha Berry Affogato ($6) is a scoop of ice cream swimming in a lake of liquid matcha. The flavors are decent but not memorable. The ice cream was chill and not overly sweet. Unfortunately, the liquid matcha arrived almost lukewarm. It would have been much more refreshing if the entire dish came cold. The presentation is eye-catching, but it lacked any real taste. Still, it's a very affordable experience. Concerning ambiance, The Good Company (Covina) performs extremely well. The location is very clean and comfortable with upbeat & fun music. There's also one flatscreen tv in the corner with closed captioning english subtitles. The location is well-ventilated, and the furniture all look very new and well-maintained. Even though the location is small, the colors and decor make it feel spacious and comfortable. Overall, The Good Company (Covina) is a good, budget hangout location. The food has an attractive appearance but its taste is unfortunately comparable to premium fast food. If heading there, bring good company and you'll definitely have a good time. 4 out of 5

We went on a Friday evening with another couple. It was great that we were seated right away and…read moreour drink orders taken. The restaurant is 'open' and "cheery", a bar to sit at and tables of different sizes. Nice selection of 'on tap' beers. Family style in the name of the game. We ordered the two protein and side. The brisket and pulled pork were amazing. The potato salad had a wonderful flavor. Coleslaw was ok. We also ordered the Garlic Parmesan Fries that I couldn't stop eating. All in all a great little place

About 4 TVs and they had different sporting events showing Service- this is where it started to go south. Your front of the house and those few minutes that a new customer has is crucial. Not very friendly and not really acknowledging the people that were standing waiting to be seated. Finally got a table, gave us menus and then 15 minutes go by and they haven't taken our order for drinks. As I look around there were 4 tables that had been seated, as well and no drink orders. We all waited about the same amount of time to get our drink orders. This unfortunately is why i took off 2 stars. To me, this unacceptable. After being seated and food came out, no one checked in until I needed a box and to pay. Did not feel welcomed and /or appreciated that I was supporting a small local business. Food- Brisket without the BBQ didn't have enough flavor. These types of meat don't need a hype man- the BBQ sauce. They need to be good on their own. Buuut Meat was tender. I read that their sausage is not great it's quite dry so I skipped it, my son had ordered ribs so I was going to steal from him, so I decided to get chicken- dark meat options. Chicken was very tasty, juicy and tender. It was the star of the dinner plate!!! Whaat!!! Their coleslaw- loved how everything was chopped nice and consistent- loved the Julienned green apples- again missing seasoning. DINNER ROLLS- Soooo fucken dry and not warmed up. I expect that level of hardness on my rolls when they are about to expire. Warm them up put them in a basket and give me butter. Such a small - perhaps minute action- but it was a huge miss. Other patrons were also commenting how bad the rolls were. We even joked, "death by dinner roll! " LOL. Cornbread- small portion but packed with flavor. I would say ease up on the Honey. I want to taste the corn bread too. It's unfortunate, I didn't have the experience others have had. Most likely not going to add it to my new restaurant rotation. There are other better options with better customer service.

This is a tough review to write. Congregation Ale House was THE place to go before Covid. Amazing…read morebeers, delicious food, a cool hybrid restaurant setup, attentive staff with cool uniforms. The place was the sh*t. I've come here several times over the past couple years and it's more and more dead at the restaurant every time. The waitresses are absolutely dreadful. Every request is forgotten or takes 20 mins to arrive at the table. When we arrived we waited 20 mins for a waitress. We asked for some sauce, they forgot. We ordered a pizza, which was delivered to the wrong table. When we wanted to leave, the check took 20 mins as well. Now I have a crying baby and I'm waiting for them to try and split the check two ways and I eventually give up knowing that the task is too much for them to handle and just pay it all on one card. We had to track down the waitresses multiple times. It's like they have NO ability to anticipate the needs of their customers. "They ordered, pizza, maybe I should bring some plates". Nope! "They'll probably want their sauce before the food item is ICE COLD". Nope! Anytime we went into the restaurant the girls were on their phones. There were five tables in the restaurant tonight so there really was no excuse. I think this will be the last time I ever go to this restaurant. Unfortunately, the reputation of the old Congregation Ale House kept me coming back even when time after time, the service was abysmal, however, now that Congregation's former glory is thoroughly tarnished I can honestly say that I will not be coming back and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Quality like this cannot be tolerated. Travis, the former owner, would be ashamed of this fall from grace. R.I.P. Congregation Ale House
