Hmmmm problem seems to be with the kitchen here. I come in with my 70 year old mother at 1pm . They close at 2pm. Server checks in. We order. My mom decides to get decaf coffee and I get a regular. My mom's coffee is cold which I tried to justify saying that its the end of the day. When our food comes out (which for some reason took awhile even though there was pretty much no one in the restaurant at that time) it was also cold. My mom got a soup and told the waitress it was cold she then she took it away. Came back with a new soup and said, "sorry it was in an industrial microwave"....? What? So confused. If its microwaved, shouldnt it actually be warm? Also, I wouldnt advertise that to customers. But yeah, sadly I would never come back and the whole experience just made me sad. This hints that nothing is fresh and a cavalier attitude. The server was nice, but this was not okay. I cannot say enough good things about the Broken Yolk in Glendora. I was in town visiting my dad, and my brother recommended this spot. I have no regrets other than not eating here sooner. I got the Trio French toast and shared bites with the whole table. I started with the cinnamon roll pancake, which was a mistake because it was the best one on the plate. My husband got a skillet and really liked it. My mocha latte was incredible. Our server was awesome, friendly, and attentive. We really appreciated her. Our food came out quick. It was all hot (don't get me started on cold food). I loved the modern feel of the inside and appreciated how clean it was. This review comes a little late. My mom and I visited this cafe on 9/23/24, a Monday, around 10AM. We were seated immediately. My mom ordered the Mom Omelette with additional goat cheese. The goat cheese was a great addition, would recommend! The omelette was flavored very well but it did seem a little overdone, as evidenced by the rubbery texture of the eggs. My hash skillet, although flavored well, was also dry and overdone. Some of my potatoes were burnt to the point of being bitter, so I had to remove them. I think that perhaps the dishes served at this restaurant tend to run on the well-done/overdone side. Some of the other tables around us ordered chicken and waffles, and their chicken also looked very dark. Service was great. We have visited Broken Yolk several times and always enjoy our meal. The servers here are hit or miss - some are amazing, some are good, and some just barely get the job done. The gluten free pancakes here are good. The omelets and skillets are large and filled with lots of good stuff. The hash browns are seasoned, so give them a taste before automatically adding salt and pepper. The iced coffee drinks are scrumptious and we're afraid to know how many calories are in them, lol! They do have alternative milks, so anyone can enjoy the coffee drinks. The main room gets VERY loud, so this isn't a good spot for someone sensitive to noise. The main downfall is the $4 charge for egg whites! Charging extra for egg whites is pretty standard, but it is usually a dollar or two. $4 is extreme. Because of this, our family member who is allergic to egg yolks never orders egg dishes here. read more

We loved the original location but then as Broken Yolk expanded , we found that the quality has suffered . Today , however , on a whim, we tried this Glendora location for the first time and we were very pleased- to the point where we may add it to our Sunday breakfast rotation. We added ourselves to the waitlist app and were seated within the quoted time frame. Inside was bright and clean and we loved the lively atmosphere. Our host was very friendly and made quick conversation as we were seated and Searrah was our wonderful server. Not many good things can be said about service these days, so Searrah is a breath of fresh air. She came quickly to take our drink orders and then when we couldn't decide on which pancakes we wanted, she gave us a great recommendation of Nutella and fresh strawberry pancakes . We were not disappointed. The portion was huge and while Nutella is typically sweet , there was just the perfect amount where no syrup is necessary. Really wish i had something to say about the food but I decided after 12 minutes (how do I know it was 12 minutes you ask?? I got a text message from my mom saying enjoy breakfast) I got up and just walked out. We were given waters and asked what we wanted to order within a minute of sitting down and asked for a couple more minutes. That's when the ghost show happened. I think the whole restaurant had two servers working the floor and with the prices they charge, they should be able to afford one or two more to make the guest experience better. We first went to a Broken Yolk Cafe in San Diego several years ago when we stayed in the Gaslamp Quarter for our anniversary, probably 2015. Since then, we've visited this location (Glendora) numerous times, starting in 2019. This review is based on a composite of all of our visits to the Glendora Broken Yolk Cafe. When we first started coming here, we'd roll in around 10:30 a.m. on a weekend and wait a solid 45 minutes for a table. This place is popular, perhaps the most popular breakfast spot in town, and the wait reflects as much. I hate waits, and it's pretty rare for me to not say "that's okay--next time" when faced with more than a 15 minute wait; nevertheless, more often than not, I'd stick around for Broken Yolk Cafe. After the pandemic, during which I managed to get myself onto a decent sleep schedule, we started coming in around 8:30. As one might expect, wait times are much shorter this early in the morning. Food: The food at Broken Yolk Cafe is incredible. From the six varieties of French toast to at least eight varieties of Eggs Benedict and everything in between, the breakfast offerings here are without peer. Back before I got my diet in order, my go-to item was the Ranchero Skillet. A massive, zesty, and absolutely satisfying meal, the Ranchero Skillet never failed to fill me up. I can also recommend the Sope Benedict, a delicious Mexican spin on a classic breakfast favorite, and any of the French toasts. Nowadays, I go in for healthier fare, and Broken Yolk Cafe still has me covered. The Greek Omelet is wonderful yet healthy, and the Steel Cut Oats are filling and guilt-free. Service: The service is pretty solid here. I've never had bad service, and I've frequently had excellent service. Food comes out quickly, and the wait staff are always polite and professional. My wife is a member of the rewards program here, and the servers are helpful in processing any discounts we may have. If one were to corner me and force me to come up with one criticism, I'd say refills can sometimes be slow, but that very much depends on the server, and slow refills are more of an exception than a norm. I've got a pretty old fashioned mindset regarding coffee refills during breakfast--I feel like the cup should never be empty, but times are changing, and I recognize this probably says more about me than anyone else. Ambiance: The décor here is a clean take on the modern semi-industrial style. Broken Yolk Cafe's interior features a large seating area with a mix of large and small tables in the center bordered by booths on the periphery. There is also a decent semi-enclosed patio for al fresco dining with a mountain view. I prefer eating indoors, so I only sit in the patio if a companion brings a dog. The restaurant is well air conditioned, which is so important on hot days like today, and the copious amount of natural light is supplemented by just the right amount of interior lighting. It's a pleasant place to enjoy a meal with friends and family. I don't know what more I can say. I only come here for breakfast, so I cannot comment on their lunch offerings, but given how terrific everything I've eaten here is, I imagine the lunch is just as great. If you find yourself in Glendora or any of the neighboring cities, come on down to Broken Yolk Cafe for a great meal at a decent price. read more

Though the benedicts themselves were a smaller serving size than I had hoped for the price ($17.95), the flavor was good and I was still full after finishing the meal.
