Saketini and spritz
Tushita H.

Overall, great experience given that they just opened! Everyone here was very kind and service was prompt. The restaurant itself is very pretty and the outdoor patio is decorated nicely and has heaters (no fans). Even better, the patio is dog-friendly! Our drinks were good; we got the lychee saketini and Saigon spritz. Food-wise, we ordered the pork spring rolls, coconut shrimp spring rolls, and shaken beef with garlic noodles. All dishes were delicious! My only complaint would be that the portions do seem a bit small. The spring rolls are cut in half to create 4 (versus 2 full sized ones). The shaken beef + garlic noodles was $30+ and it was probably better for one person versus two people sharing.

It was so nice to be invited to the "Soft Opening" of the newest location of Brodard, in Long Beach. I enjoyed the Lychee Saketini, the Fried Shrimp Spring roll, Crispy Chicken Garlic Noodles and the Almond cake. Our server was excellent at keeping us happy and satisfied throughout the evening. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with clean pleasing seating. Both indoor and outdoor dining is offered. Congratulations to Lisa, the owner, and her staff!

Great food and service. We have been to their flagship Chateau and Fountain Valley restaurants. This the new location on PCH from 2nd Street. The service is excellent and very friendly. Everyone orders their spring rolls and their well known garlic noodles. We decided to order seafood "soft" noodles and their bun noodles. The bun dish is my wife's favorite. The beef was very tender and the salad was very fresh. I really liked my dish the seafood was well seasoned and cooked nicely. The location is great right next to the parking structure and near the main street of shops. There are other great places to eat and grab coffee as we have done numerous times. The only not so great, is the space. It is not that big and gets busy of course after opening, which is at 11am. Enjoy!

When I saw the grand opening of Brodard in Long Beach, I immediately made reservations via Yelp to secure an 11:00 AM spot inside. I knew the news of a new Brodard opening in Long Beach would create crowds, so wanted to be one of the first visitors this morning. The restaurant is beautiful, although rather small inside, but with a large outside patio for beach weather days. We started off with a duck salad and followed with pork sausage spring rolls which were delicious. lastly, we had chicken satay skewers which were made perfectly and made just right. Although it has been several years since dining at the original Chateau, I believe this new location is on par, considering the size difference and location in an outside shopping mall. I'll need to visit the Fountain Valley restaurant next to seal the deal about which is the better restaurant!

We went on the third day it opened and were so happy we finally were able to try Brodard! The food was incredible! We got both the pork spring rolls and the shrimp spring rolls, as well as the shaken beef. We also had the Saigon Spritz which was yummy! Not only was the food great but our waiter was so kind and it was an amazing experience overall! The restaurant itself is brand new so it is very pretty- it is a little small on the inside but also has a great patio. Lookong forward to going back in a few weeks!

I went to the Grand Opening of Brodard in Long Beach with my sister and our friend today. We were anticipating the opening for a while and were excited to go today. Location was beautiful, love the decor. It was very modern, chic, and polished. Well, first off my sister and I are seasoned veterans at the Fountain Valley location. We were disappointed with the food at the Long Beach restaurant. First off, the well known rolls here are a lot smaller compared to their FV location and more expensive. I get it, the real estate here is more expensive (rent wise) which may have been the reason why you get less rolls but you pay more. 2 rolls cut in half was $7.95. We order the Hanoi pork vermicelli which was $23.95 which was also a bit disappointing. The meat ration was great but the vermicelli wasn't enough. It wasn't portioned correctly for the amount of meat you get. The flavors were on point but it wasn't filling to say the least. Also for that price point and the clientele they are targeting around this area the herbs were pretty sad looking. I'm not sure whoever was in charge in the kitchen thought it was ok to serve some caterpillar eaten mint. In addition the vermicelli was undercook because they were hard. My girlfriend ordered the lemongrass vermicelli, she said the sauce they used was a bit too sweet for her taste buds. I've reviewed their FV location with a 5 star review this location however needs to work out some kinks. Would I return to this location, honestly I won't because I already know what I'm getting at the FV location. It's unfortunate since I would have like to come here since it's a much closer location. Our server Daniel was great, very friendly, and professional but it seemed like the staff was overwhelmed and lack some experience. They were mixing up tables bringing out rolls to the wrong table and then an additional plate of rolls came to our table when we already got our order. We also waited a long time for our check to come. They also couldn't validate your parking ticket because the hostess said they weren't set up yet for validation. You do get the first 90 minutes free in the parking structure.

Finally we don't have to drive all the way to fountain valley! Our whole family is in love with this place. We love the pork spring rolls, bahn xeo, bbq chicken with garlic noodles and the lemon pepper wings. We definitely want to come back to try some more dishes, perhaps a soup. Service was great, restaurant was clean, and bathroom was clean.

Yaaas! Finally one in the neighborhood. The wait for 2 walk-in was about 20 mins on a Saturday around 4:30 pm. Staffs were ALL friendly. Ordered our usual. Everything tasted as expected. No complaints. Will definitely be back for our usual.

I've been to Brodard before, so I was really excited to see their new Long Beach location open. The location is super convenient, with plenty of parking and a really nice, modern atmosphere. It definitely feels more polished than your typical Vietnamese restaurant, but still keeps that familiar Brodard feel. Of course, we had to get the famous nem nướng cuốn and honestly, that's still the star of the show. The grilled pork, fresh herbs, crunchy crispy wrapper and that signature dipping sauce all work so well together. However the price is a bit steeper than their sister store in Fountain Valley. We also ordered the beef vermicelli and the Hanoi vermicelli. The vermicelli was under cook. They didn't give much either for the Hanoi Vermicelli. One bite and it was pretty much gone. Plenty of meat though. The beef vermicelli had a better ratio of food but the beef was a bit too sweet. Daniel our server was super nice. Very quick and efficient. The food came out quick. Our waters were always topped off. I think I'll continue going to my tried and true, the Fountain Valley location.

Went to the soft opening for this new location in Long Beach. Certainly it's closer for me since I live in Huntington Beach. The decor side really nice very inviting The large chandelier in the main dining area is simply beautiful. Did also sit at the bar area, the white marble countertop and drinks. Good I can imagine having their signature rolls and a glass of cold beer from tap would make for a nice evening. Wagyu beef skewers and bikini shrimp were stand outs for new Brodard menu items . I also sampled both the Jidori chicken on garlic noodle as well as basil rice . Both are good . Realizing that they had new service staff , they did well for the soft opening. It's a nice addition to the already fun plaza that include Whole Foods .

It's named Brodard, but it's NOT Brodard. Save yourself the disappointment and drive to Fountain Valley. Their menu is extremely slim compared to the other location and the prices are astronomical in comparison too (they don't have the beef stew). I ordered the grilled chicken and it was more like a chicken stew that they throw on top? It was dry and didn't taste anything like the other locations. The server at the bar was frantic and asking me 1,000 questions every minute. Flavors are different, menu is different, menu items are different, prices are different, and overall service was different. This sadly isn't Brodard.

grilled pork, shrimp, eggrolls vermicelli

we didn't have the best experience, as we (like many others) expect the standard of their fountain valley location. HOWEVER, i do want to acknowledge that they had just opened and we should give them a chance at least for the next few months. they might've benefitted more from having a soft opening first, then a grand opening a few months later. we came in around 4:45pm. didn't seem to have too many people inside or waiting outside. the two hostesses asked for a name and for how many, and said it would only take a few minutes. twenty minutes past by, and they sat three parties of two, all of whom came after us. after asking how much longer, it seemed as if we weren't even on the list. we waited a few more minutes before finally being seated. Food was so incredibly lackluster. We got the shaken beef and the pork, shrimp, and egg roll vermicelli. We asked for a side of broth (like the kind you usually order with com tam), and they brought out an incredibly bland looking AND tasting soup. They also didn't bring it out soon enough, as we were almost halfway through the bo luc lac. Bo luc lac was okay, very saucy but not very flavorful. The bun thit nuong tom cha gio was mediocre. The grilled meat wasn't super flavorful, the shrimp was grilled fine, and the eggrolls were small and bland. the nuoc mam also didn't taste like much. we got an orange passion fruit drink. it was okay. very sour and the orange was overpowering. Our server was a bit overwhelmed because people kept asking to move. The food quality is not their fault, and they did their best. Please take these reviews as constructive criticism. I will return in a few months with the hope that the quality is on par with their other location and encourage others to do the same. Once again, I think if this was a soft opening with the menu half-priced, the business could have practiced consistent food quality, received feedback BEFORE the grand opening, and could get down a system that handles the foot traffic at the front.

I'm so happy to discover this newly opened Brodard Vietnamese restaurant and their new location in Long Beach. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The Grilled Pork Roll was one of my favorites. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the dipping sauce was so delicious. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The Bo Luc Lac (Shaking Beef) was incredible! The beef was so tender and juicy--it practically melted in my mouth. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and it was especially delicious with steamed rice. Definitely a must try!!! We also ordered the Lemongrass Beef Vermicelli. The beef was tender, and the lemongrass flavor paired perfectly with the vermicelli and fresh ingredients. Everything came together so nicely. The coconut cake was so good too! It was soft, moist, and smelled amazing. The coconut flavor was just right and not too sweet. Definitely worth trying! The atmosphere was warm, clean, and welcoming, with a nice modern Vietnamese feel. The restaurant was comfortable and relaxing, making it a great place for a casual meal with family or friends. The service was also excellent friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of flavor, and the service and atmosphere were wonderful. Highly recommend giving this new location Brodard Vietnamese restaurant a try! I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes.

FIVE STARS IS FOR THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT THE FOOD…read more My friend and I had a good time at the lre- opening night of The Bungalow Kitchen. My friend is a chef, so I really wanted her to experience the new menu with me. First, I have to give credit where credit is due. the customer service was top tier! We were greeted as soon as we walked up, and all of the ladies were so welcoming and nice. The bartenders were super nice as well, as was the GM. And of course, the aesthetic of The Bungalow never fails. The space is beautiful and definitely still has that Bungalow vibe. Our waiter, Devin, was great too! Now, on to the food... sadly, we were pretty underwhelmed. I hate that I have to agree with some of the Instagram comments I had seen about the kitchen because I really expected better, especially with all the hype surrounding Chef Eric and the new menu. One thing that really irked me was that our order of broccolini came out before everything else and sat there for about 20 minutes before our entrees arrived. Our waiter was kind enough to send out another order of broccolini once our entrees came, which I appreciated. They initially added it to the bill, but removed it once I mentioned it. The lasagna honestly tasted like something I could pick up already made from Whole Foods. The pork chop was cooked well, but it lacked flavor. The artichoke dish... I don't even really know what to say. The presentation wasn't great, and we kept pulling pieces of the shell out of our mouths, which was annoying. We had a couple of bites and just did away with it. The mussels were good, but there weren't very many. Mussels are pretty inexpensive, so it would have been nice to have a bit more, especially since they are small. The sauce had good flavor, and we ordered the baguette to dip into it, but it wasn't really a sauce in the traditional sense because it was pretty thin. I think it could have had more substance, especially considering they encourage you to spend $12 on a baguette to dip into it. One other thing I noticed was that Chef Eric was visiting some of the tables around us but never came over to ours. Maybe those were family and friends, so who knows, but considering there were barely any people in the restaurant, I do think it would have been nice for him to make his way around to all of the tables, especially on opening night. I will definitely be back to The Bungalow because I love the space, the people and the drinks. I'm just not sure if I'll be back for dinner. I'm willing to try some of the less expensive items and see how those are. Our dinner bill was around $250, in addition to the $40 we spent at the bar before sitting down. Unfortunately, for us, the food just wasn't worth the bill. Overall, we had a great experience with the staff and the atmosphere, but the food didn't live up to the expectations I had going in. Hopefully, some of these things improve because I really do want to see the kitchen succeed.

They reminded us why we missed this concept from them so much all these years, welcome back! From the host team when we arrived to our waiter Tiffany (who was amazing), the crew here was warm and welcoming. We were at their soft opening so we expected things to be a little rough, but there were moments we actually forgot they weren't "fully opened" yet because it was pretty dialed in already. Minor things are still being worked out but honestly, they were hardly noticeable. Now, let's get down to what I'm sure you're waiting for... the food and the drinks. Without burying the lead, Chef Eric Samaniego and his team did their thing. For a starter we had the Hamachi Crudo which was un-friggin-believable. No joke, it was seriously legit. One of the best presentations of this dish I've had so far... for reals. My wife gave it a 10, I gave it an 11 (yes, I loved it that much). For our mains, we shared the Steak Frites and the Lobster Cavatelli. Tiffany also recommended we try a side of the Broccolini, and we are so glad we did because it was so delicious - 10/10. The Steak Frites were very good. The steak was prepared just right and the frites were seasoned nicely with the beef tallow. We gave it a 9 /10. The Cavatelli was solid, but it was probably the biggest opportunity of the bunch. I enjoyed it but wish I could taste more of some of the other flavors, the tomatoes seemed to overpower it some. We gave it a 7/10. In addition to the dishes, I also enjoyed a Roku gin gimlet which was totally on point. They have a full bar and talented mixologists so you can pretty much get what you want though. Finally, the recognizable vibe that we've come to love at the Bungalow remains. They've added nice new furniture and other touches that give it a comfortable, upscale, yet welcoming vibe. All-in-all, we are excited for what the Bungalow Kitchen has in store and look forward to coming back soon!
