Steak tips were great and really well seasoned. Cooked exactly how I asked (medium rare). Vegetables were cooked very well with just a little crunch left. Great texture. Well seasoned. Servers were attentive. Noise level was medium. read more

Authentic Boston. Authentic American-Irish pub. Great food. Great smiles. I very much enjoyed my food. This is where you come after a long day and you just want lay your troubles down and meet good friends. This was my first visit and I had hear a lot about this establishment. It absolutely did not disappoint. I had the fish and chips and they were UK authentic without the newspaper. The servers were great, extremely welcoming and smiles all around. Thank you for making this Chicago resident feel like home while away! read more

Friendliest place in Boston. Eric, Carrie, & David are the dream team. Very good food, fast polite service. Local families and out of towners can talk forever. Awesome, GO BILLS read more

Food was good. I got short rib grilled cheese. That was ok, not bad but not great. The Brussels sprouts were kinda bland. My friend got the Ruben - that was AMAZING (I tried a bite). Boyfriend got the Mac and Cheese with Steak- it was filling and good, he did say the steak was a little overcooked. Now let me get to the dessert.... Went here on a Saturday while staying at the Hilton nearby and looking for a family-friendly but good option for dinner. Really happy with everything; food was great, staff was very friendly and even let my daughters (5 and 3) 'play waitress' (within reason!). We had the clam chowder (100% recommend; my daughter who never touches new food tried and then ate all of it). I had the Blackened Chicken Breast, which was excellent while my wife had the Salmon, also equally happy with it. Seating was comfortable with plenty of room, and there is a kids menu. Even for a Saturday evening, it was still full of families and couples out for dinner, but it wasn't too loud or crazy. Next time we're back in Boston, happily making a trip back to Broadside. Thanks! read more

Solid sandwiches and fries. Huge portions on the chicken tenders app. Poke bowl was good. Decent beer selection. Service was spotty and slow. read more

I love broadside. Been coming here for years. I'm my opinion they have the best clam chowder in the city. Must try for food and a Guinness. You won't be disappointed!! read more

Not sure how this place gets 4 stars. Ordered an app and got the wrong thing. I chuck it up to a mistake no big deal. What ever. Then the bartender takes my order. I asked to get the steak tips and could I sub out the side for a side Cesar. No problem she says. My food comes and it's a dinner Cesar with Steak side. Mistake?? No she said she order that way cause it was just easier. It would have been fine had it not been 3 tiny steak tips. She ordered me 3 more. Thanks. Food was mediocre at best. Let's start with buffalo chicken wings. This goes for all- For those who don't know how to make them. It's 2-3 ingredients people. Redhot, Butter and maybe garlic or salt pepper. Then take your wings - cook them, then cook them 2-3 mins longer so they are crispy not squishy Steak tips- were meh read more

Leslie and I were in town for our 7th Wedding Anniversary and found this wonderful place near our hotel. Our food was great...she had the Goat Cheese and Apple salad, me the Turkey Avacado sandwich. GRACE our server was A1!!! Nice atmosphere, good price. You've tried the rest, now try THE BEST. read more

We came in here in a big group, wanting to grab some late night bites after a bar crawl. We were probably the only people in here and got our waitress's full attention, which was nice. The place is spotless, large, and had a good selection. Everything was great from the angry orchard to the waffle fries! Get the sampler- it's more than enough for 2 people! read more

This place does exactly what it is supposed to do. Strong pours and good bar food. My steak and cheese was enormous.

Abhorrent service. On one of the biggest drinking days of the year the bartender refused water service until it was demanded, not requested, stating that 'it's st Patrick's day, we don't serve water'. Then had the bouncer remove me for asking for water service that should have been immediately offered if the bartender had any care at all for servsafe protocols. Unbelievable situation to be removed for, just trying to keep my friends safe, while she seemed to not care for anyone but her her own pocket. read more

This is a regular spot for my coworkers and I! The rum punch is amazing and very refreshing after a busy day. We always get the appetizer sampler which has several different fries food options. Menu items are at the average price point and the atmosphere is very fun. I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

We were standing outside looking at the menu when a local said that she eats there all of the time. It was a Sunday afternoon and was nice and quiet. The booth was very comfortable. My wife had a sandwich with turkey, avocado, and bacon. She said it was good, as were the fries it came with. I had the chicken pot pie. It had poofy crust on top and giant pearl onions underneath that were difficult to deal with. We thought the food was bland, although it seemed like a lot of care was put into its preparation. It tasted very fresh, and I would know as my wife tells me that I specialize in being fresh. read more

Typical place for this area, mostly a bar but a good list of sandwiches, salads and a few full meals. I had the turkey with avocado sandwich. Tired of french fries? This place has lots of choices for sides including a side salad or vegetables. That is unusual for this area. The turkey looked hand carved, not deli sliced. It was quite good. I also had a side of broccoli, which was steamed and as good as can be expected for broccoli. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are average for the area. Be advised that this is a "sports" bar with several big screen TVs. The crowd can get noisy! read more

Stopped here on a beautiful end-of-summer evening. Sweet decor, attentive waitress, impressively sophisticated menu entries, all promised a classy downtown experience. I ordered poke and got a cleverly constructed - but utterly inedible -version. It felt like eating rock salt, everything was drenched in aggressively salty soy sauce and probably salted again. A true kitchen disaster, I kid you not. In spite of my agreeable nature, I sent the poke back and asked for the tuna Niçoise salad. I was ready to forgive and forget - but by Jove, the salad was drenched in what felt like a gallon of balsamic vinegar. Everything relatively chunky - egg, tuna, potatoes were ok, but the leaves were overwhelmed by the acidity. We did no raise the stink again, quickly paid and left in what was decidedly less enjoyable mood. Two light dishes, two inedible culinary experiences. What are the chances... read more

Went here for lunch during the work week with colleagues. We went on the later side, around 1:00pm, so ended up not having any trouble getting a table (about a 10 minute wait). We ordered a watermelon feta salad to start and my co-worker and I decided to order the Short Rib Grilled Cheese and the Reuben and split them. Watermelon Feta Salad (Special) - 5/5. This was a really good salad. Big chunks of fresh watermelon and loads of feta. The sweetness of the watermelon and the salty tang of the feta were an excellent compliment to each other. Short Rib Grilled Cheese - (3/5). The bread was great and grilled to perfection. The short rib was very soft and cooked well, but lacked flavor. It could have used some acid - like a vinegar based glaze of some kind. As it was, I was glad I only had half of it because it was kind of boring. Reuben - (4/5). Again, great bread. The rye was very tasty and was toasted nice and crispy. The corned beef was very good and paired with the sauerkraut and Russian dressing...this sandwich hit the mark. It was a little on the messy side and most of the stuff squeezed out the sides when I tried to bite into it, but I found a way to finish it off. I didn't dislike the meal, I rather enjoyed most of it - so I would definitely stop in again for a lunch with colleagues if the occasion arose. read more

Tasty spot to get a some apps and a bite to eat after work. They had a good selection of beer. The nacho's and pretzels were pretty good. We heard such awesome reviews about your restaurant and decided not to go because of your rude hostess. I told her that we're a group of 6 coming in to dine in and that we would like to preview. Unfortunately, one of the girls that's with us is pregnant and vegetarian... she didn't find anything that was fit for her... so I asked if there were any restaurants next to Broadside and she immediately responds with "well, she can't bring her food in" It's too bad that you guys lost business because of someone that doesn't know how important it is to add that additional $100-$200 to that day sales. read more

This place is a marginal improvement over the previous management/ownership/name. Nothing inside has changed, just a new coat of paint and some new stools at the bar. They have a lot of taps, and the prices are competitive, but the food is VERY hit-or-miss. Whatever you do, avoid the salad. It's a pile of sad greens, some cut up cucumbers and two tomatoes, and it does not come with salad dressing unless you ask. If you want "steak" on it, you'll get three or four chunks of salty, chewy, overly-marinated chuck. It's terrible. The "steak tips" are the same blasphemous chunks of terrible. The roasted turkey avocado sandwich is passable, if a little dry. The burger is just okay. The fish & chips, for whatever reason, is superb, as is the tuna Poke. It's acceptable for after-work drinks and very little else. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a bite and a couple beers with the wife. Greeted at the door by a friendly bouncer, gave us our choice of table which is always nice. The service was great and the food was too! My wife ordered the Chicken Milanese and it was absolutely amazing. I had the Fish and chips and it was pretty good but the breading was too heavy. The quality of food was top notch and we will definitely be back. If there was one thing I'd change it would be the heavy cornmeal breading on the fish. We look forward to our next visit to the Broadside so we can try some other great food offerings. read more

Super impressed with the renovation - they did a great job updating the decor, making better use of the space while still having a great casual friendly environment. The menu falls in line with the atmosphere, while still being interesting and relevant. I got the broadside burger which sounds like a basic staple but it was cooked an ACTUAL medium rare and it came with bacon jam which was a nice little twist and a great idea (essentially spreadable bacon that you can smear across the bun so you get bacon flavor in every bite!). Service was also on point. I was there with friends and we had Kerry(I think that was her name) as our bartender. She was super friendly and attentive. She gave us great suggestions on food and remembered our drink orders every round. I HIGHLY recommend her. If you're in the financial district and looking for a casual comfortable spot with a bunch of TVs and solid atmosphere, food and service; I'd suggest heading to Broadside. read more

Paid $60 for cover to watch the fight on 11/12. Two of us went back to the previous bar to get a forgotten credit card and then came back and were told they were "at capacity". When the rest of us came to the door to see why they were stranded outside, were asked to come out of the doorway and then all of us were again told that they were "at capacity" and couldn't go back in. Wouldn't have been mad if they hadn't also refused to refund the cover...won't go back and won't recommend it to anyone. read more

Decent downtown food. Average prices. Great, thick chowder. Nothing overly special about any other food. They did cook my burger perfectly. Crispy fries. Great service till the end. I asked for the check because our table had to be somewhere soon. The check came immediately, but then was never picked up. We had to put on our coats and flag down someone to run the credit card. We probably could have just left and they wouldn't have noticed. read more
