Bridgestone Cleaners has a friendly staff, and they are very conveniently located on Court Street in Cobble Hill. You pay a bit more for the eco-friendly cleaning method. I continue to use them for my dry cleaning needs, in part because of convenience and in part because overall the staff is friendly and professional. Additionally, they give coupons for 10-15% off and for a person like me that accumulates dry cleaning so I don't go every week, this is really worthwhile. I had one bad mistake where they lost a garment and at first acted like I never brought it in. But when the garment was finally found, the employees were very conciliatory about it. They do a decent job on basic hems (that and tightening buttons on a coat are the services I have tried beyond dry cleaning) and they once saved a casual winter coat in baby blue and white from being ruined. They told me frankly that a coat in a light color gets soiled and it can be very hard to remove certain set-in dirt. Bridgestone did a great job of making the jacket look as good as possible, and I was really pleased at the results. I just brought clothes here for the very first time and even though they did a decent job cleaning the items I brought (one stain didn't come out which was disappointing, but others look nice), but I am extremely annoyed because Bridgestone neglected to mention to me that they glue tiny barcode labels onto all pieces of clothing that they clean, and *you can't take them off yourself.* If a cleaner is going to affix permanent barcode labels to someone's clothing, that needs to be mentioned UP FRONT before the items are left there. Yes, the labels are small and yes, they were pasted out of the way. But I would not have agreed to this despite that - just because I came to Bridgestone once doesn't mean I will be coming all the time, and I don't want bar code labels pasted to the inner plackets of my very expensive designer men's shirts! When I called to ask how to get the labels off, I was told that they put those labels on all the clothing they clean and sorry, it's a special glue - when I expressed horror that I couldn't remove them, he told me I could bring them back to the shop to have them removed. He apologized for my irritation but explained that people don't usually complain. Ok, I'm glad for Bridgestone that people don't usually complain, but COME ON - if you are permanently altering clothing, even inobtrusively, **this should be something you mention to new customers to make sure they don't mind before you do it.** I don't live in the neighborhood, and now have to make a special trip out of my way to have the labels removed at Bridgestone, and there had better not be any label residue after they're removed. read more

Been going here about 3 years now, and I have nothing but good things to report about Bridgestone. They dry-cleaned an antique Moroccan rug for me after warning me it could be risky, and did a fantastic job. I also get almost all clothing alterations done by Caeser at Bridgestone- he is great with simple alterations, and the turn-around time is fast. They also always have a treat for my dog when we come by to pick up! Only downside are the prices-- but the customer service, location, and turn-around time are excellent so I guess that's what you're paying for. read more

They do a fine job with dry cleaning and tailoring, but I find the prices insane. They aren't consistent with their itemization and pricing and I don't like how they only give you a receipt upon pick up. I've asked for a receipt after I've dropped off but they only offer to attach it to the items when you pick them up. It seems to me that by the time I am confronted with a $100 dry cleaning bill it is too late to do anything about it. I won't be using again. read more

I got my wedding dress cleaned here and am NOT happy. It is expensive as hell to get your wedding dress cleaned. That I was expecting. But it's also expensive to "preserve" it, so you expect that a place that claims to be specialists at this would give extra good care. Nope. Right off the bat they took a week to call me to tell me how long it would take. That was weird, but I wasn't in a huge hurry given I had used the dress. Then, they took forever to clean it. When I picked it up, all boxed up and "preserved", I asked "did you get the stains out? And the guy says, "I don't know." This is in the same breath as saying they recommend I don't open the box unless I have gloves on. Well I did open the box and my dress was basically in a ball AND the stains aren't out at all. I would have hoped a place that charges $500 for this service would have had the decency to call me to let me know that they could not clean my dress and maybe, I don't know, ask if I still wanted to pay the $150 to preserve it (aka, roll it in a ball and put it in a box they tell you not to open). I would definitely do more research than I did. read more

They are great for wash and fold! They know my name and which bag is mine and it's always a pleasant experience stopping in. The clothes come back in good shape (I had to switch from another local place after all my clothes came unbelievably wrinkled). I do think they're a bit pricey for dry cleaning but I'm very very happy with my wash and fold service. read more

I have been a customer for nearly 3 years. I have had a few issues until recently. In the 3 years I have had to return about 5 garments to the facility b/c the stains that I had reviewed with the attendant had not been removed from the garments. Fine. I can deal with that - it only cost me a couple of days. However, I had the WORST experience recently. #1. I picked up a blouse that had been there for a few weeks. The attendant was about to charge me for it when she told me that they tried to get a stain out and couldn't. What she showed me was a blouse that was no longer wearable. There were actually multiple large holes in the blouse. In the 3 weeks that they had the shirt, no one contacted me to advise that my garment was ruined. #2. The other garments that I dropped off were returned to me uncleaned. Literally, every single garment was returned to me with the stains that I left them with. I wasn't given an explanation as to why. They're response was an equivalent of, "Oops. My B." I was also given the excuse that my clothes weren't clean b/c I had asked for rushed service. I'm a pretty understanding person. If someone had called me and said, "you know what? We're actually pretty busy and I don't think we'll be able to get you your clothes to you tomorrow like you requested" I would have been bummed that I couldn't take the garment with me on vacation but I would have been happy that they were putting quality first. #3. when I spoke to the attendant about the problems their only response, in addition to "Oops", was they I could talk to the manager. I spoke with the Manager and he didn't seem to care. He was more interested in proving me wrong in my 15 years of knowledge w/i the clothing industry (quality control, testing, production, development, etc) then to rectify the situation and talking to his team about the importance of communication. Bridgestone charges a premium from their services. You might get a pleasant experience when things go well. But don't expect a good experience when they ruin your clothes. They will do nothing to help you. read more

This is the worst dry cleaner I have ever used. Their cleaning is adequate; however, their turnaround time is several days and they are often late. Considering other cleaners will pick up and drop off from my building with same day service, it's just plain awful service that you cannot expect your clothes returned in a timely manner. Add to that the most unreasonable highway robbery prices I've ever seen. They regularly tell you that your plain wool, polyester, cotton dresses are "special fabric" that require an additional $5-10 upcharge, they've charged me over $15 for a sleeveless blouse, claiming that the ruffle required special care. Abysmal service and deceptive pricing with only decent cleaning? Take your business elsewhere. read more

I call and call the cobble hill location but nobody ever picks up the phone. Forget about trying to schedule a pick up with them in Brooklyn; they only have one driver to cover all their locations, and he seems to be preoccupied most of the time with the city. Not cheap - okay, expensive - but this is an extremely high quality dry cleaner, the best in the area if not the borough Dry cleaning is terrific, shirt laundering the best I've had anywhere, and the tailoring is excellent. Never used wash and fold. The staff and service is great and they have gone the extra mile several times in multiple ways, including sewing suspender buttons on a tuxedo on the spot in an extreme emergency. read more

Bridgestone is a bit more expensive than the average cleaner in the area, but it's the only one I trust with my clothes. The tailoring is also very high quality, and holds up over time. I have never had a problem with shrinkage or change in hand-feel of the fabric. (Sadly that has been the case when I chose a different cleaner.) The staff is very careful and kind. It's about time I gave this place the credit that it's due! I brought in a few suit pants for tailoring. A few were straightforward and they were flawlessly tailored. I also brought in a relic with pleats that resembled parachute pants. It was a tall order to bring it down to size, and they did it exactly as I asked. However, my instructions didn't really alter the pants the way I wanted it. The owner asked me if I would let him make a few more adjustments since I didn't appear satisfied. I let him, and not only did he alter the pants exactly as I wanted but could not articulate, but he didn't charge me for any of the work! I have not had a very positive experience at Bridgestone, mainly with one of their staff members. A custom-made shirt from Hong Kong which I brought in was lost - I was given someone else's shirt which he insisted was mine. Although they are environmentally friendly which is what brought me there in the first place, in my opinion they are on the expensive side. On a brighter note, the owner of the store, Ken, is very nice, committed and professional and even called me after a negative post on Yelp to see how he could make things better which I appreciated. read more

I will echo what an earlier review said--twice in five visits, I was told that "sorry...it looks like your item was racked at our other store." This is simply unacceptable.
