Only leaving 2 star because the food was good... not great but good... we had a party of 9 around 4:30... not a busy time... maybe 25% full when we arrived.. Service was so bad we kept walking upto the bar for drinks and service... it took 45min for the first round of drinks and water to arrive... another 15min they took the food order and we waited tried to order drinks again (and the wait begins) roughly 30-40min later food arrives and drinks shortly after that.... 2 and 1/2hrs later we are done... food was ok... service sucked and because we are over a table of 6 we had to pay $105 dollar tip! Ambiance at brick room is great! After finding the door hidden behind a false storefront we walked upstairs to find a cool eclectic decor and cozy vibe. Service was attentive not annoying. Tito's Martini and old fashioned with Woodford were delicious. The flat iron steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The spring gnocchi was lemon forward and sublime. My only note would be that I didn't taste the pistachio and it didn't resemble a pesto. We loved it and would def go back! read more

It has been a bit since we visited the Brickroom. However I will say that my two experienced eating here have been very good. The service is on point and attentive, excellent atmosphere both for dining inside or out and the place was spotless clean. The beer could have been more cold and frosty but that is the best downside I could say. Strongly recommend the flat iron steak is absolutely phenomenal. We're seated upstairs, and it took a while for the server to get our drink and food order. I got a mixed drink called, Tea Party and loved it! Refreshing with spice. I then got the gluten free stir fry option with steak. There was tons of meat on this dish- more steak than my husbands plate (and he ordered the steak for his meal) We both enjoyed our meal and the portions were huge! I did give my husband half of the steak from my stir fry. My mother in law got the ribs and she enjoyed them.., a little too much ginger for her but it was the same sauce that was on my Gluten free meal, and it wasn't spicy for me. read more

My wife and I stopped for dinner here. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, salad, and two entrees. Before we had a chance to have a bit of our drinks, ALL of our remaining order was unceremoniously dumped on our table. The servers joked about that being awkward, but offered no remedy or apology. We ate our entrees, but took the rest to go. I left $1 tip on a $100 meal, because of the cavalier attitude of the staff. We decided to get the bad taste out of our mouths by stopping at Macaroni's, just down the street to get some tiramisu to go. The server was delightful, very gracious, and boxed up the tiramisu in short order. I paid her in cash, and left a 20% tip. Wish we had gone to Macaron's instead. read more

Spectacular in every way and will most definitely be back every time we pass through Ashland. Rickie was our server and he was just born to this role. I over heard him carding a 5 year old who claimed it was her birthday. So sweet and funny and heartwarming. Rickie took our order and was just so relaxed, smooth and wonderful. The food was well prepared and delicious. This place has a great atmosphere. The only downside I can even think of is the parking, but Ashland downtown is just that way at dinner time, so plan accordingly and you should be fine. read more

Nice upstairs space above the creek that's open later than most other of the local eateries. Great service and was pleasantly surprised at some good options on the wine list (even though I opted for the sangria - yumm). I have eaten here maybe ten times since moving to So Oregon. One star for the food, it's great. The layout and ability to sit outside and see the creek while you eat? Excellent, one more star. The service? Whew. (price should reflect food and service-it doesn't) The last (literal) five times I have dined here have had awful service. I try to only review when I have had a great time and reserve my bad reviews for repeated failures. The server looked honestly confused when he approached my table, like, lost. He wasn't sure if he should take my order or ask for a tarot reading. IDK! It was weird. So I ordered an app, Twenty min later the bartender delivered it. Cold. (The place was empty when we arrived and I even mentioned it to the friendly hostess) I asked if he was my new server, he said no, but took our order... and brought it out. After we finished eating I asked my server for the check and a to-go box. AGAIN (not exaggerating) twenty minutes passed before I saw him again. He asked, "box?!" YES AND THE CHECK, thank yewwww. We wasted two hours here that cut in to our shopping and playground time. I love the food, but I'm done eating here. This was not the first time wait staff was neglectful and service was SLOW. Byeeee. I usually tip over 20% because I know that's how servers survive. I felt especially petty tipping 12% this time. Whew. Good food, beautiful place, terrible service. Thank you to the bartender who picked up the slack, the tip should 100% go to you and was the only reason I tipped at all. Let's make mention of the staff who loudly bragged they collectively polished off several bottles of wine before starting their shift, only several tables away from me. Is this Ashland? Food: 10/10 there was literally nothing to complain about here. Everything, & I mean everything, was cooked to perfection & the taste reflected that! I usually am unable to finish a whole dish & leave scraps behind because I get full, but there were no bits left behind on any of the dishes as they were so delicious. Even finished the French fries! I would be a regular here if it weren't for the fact that I'm not a local. Totally worth the price. Atmosphere: 9/10 it was kind of dimly lit, but that's about my only gripe. Chill vibes inside & there's plenty of space to social distance. Love some of the interior decor choices, especially there succulent driftwood wall Displays Service: 10/10 staff was friendly & all wore masks. I think our waiter's name was Seth(?) & he was great. We were in town to look at SOU mid week when we came in for a late dinner. We chose to sit in one of the comfy booths in the bar. We received great service from two different bartenders. We had breakfast on our trip to Brickroom. Took a little more time than I would have preferred to be seated - they had to bus some tables. Service was friendly and food came out reasonably quickly. I had two eggs over easy with bacon and My Jam potatoes. My wife thought the potatoes were a little too sweet, but I thought they were tasty. Menu is more of a brunch style menu, so if you're looking for something more basic and not quite as fancy, there's not as many options for you. Restaurant is up two flights of stairs, so would not be a good option for those needed wheelchair accessibility or people who struggle with stairs. read more

We were in Ashland today and went to dinner at the Brickroom. Nice atmosphere- good staff- full bar and good food. My wife had Flank Steak with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The steak was really tender and tasty and the potatoes were cooked nicely. I had the Char Grilled Bulgogi Beef. It was ok - hence the 4 stars. The beef was a little over cooked for my taste and wasn't full of that Asian Flavor that our server talked about. Anyway it was good but the Flank Steak looked and tasted better. The ribs they serve looked good also. The portions are pretty large. They have a full bar with beer and cider on tap. If you are looking for a nice place good good and nice service, I would recommend giving this place a try. read more

When I came here with a friend, they had closed the entrees but were still serving drinks, small plates, the salads, sandwiches and deserts. Ordered the brickroom mule- they use wheatley vodka. It was pretty good, one of the better mules I've had! My friend ordered a beer, which he liked too. Food - I ordered the brickroom burger with a well-done patty, my friend ordered the veggie po boy and fries to share. The burger was decent. No different from any other restaurant burgers. The server made us feel like he cared and was so funny. We both got a drink called "Into the Fields" which I called Field of Flowers. We all laughed for he remembered a lady wanting to get a drink named Short and Sweet, at the time. And the lady said she wanted a Sassy and Sweet. Our server checked in and was very attentive. Food came out so incredibly fast! Our drinks were delish and had a nice finish. Food was good...fries to die for. We had to order another to finish the drinks. This cute little town of ashland is located about 20 min north of the California and Oregon border. The old downtown area is made up of brick 2 and 3 story buildings with shops on the ground floor and the restaurants on the second floor, no elevators because of their age so you need to go up the stairs. But the meal was outstanding and the decor was a little out there. The service was excellent and food was fresh. We had salads to start, one was a chicken pear and the other was a Caesar salad. We also had a Appetizer of lamb rolls. This was the best appetizer of its kind that we ever had and was fantastic. The steak and potatoes was great. We were full and didn't have room for dessert.
