First time trying Greenleaf for breakfast it did leave a bit to be desired. In short: service felt abandoned, food was average, and drinks were hit or miss. As a side note, they put their tip options reversed from highest to lowest left to right as "25%, 20%, 18%" which I find almost intentionally trying to get people to click the highest percentage if they don't pay attention. Plus having the minimum option be 18 contributes to the toxic tipping trends. Service: this was the area that struggled the most. When we arrived our party was waiting by the host stand that said to wait to be seated for a long time along with several other parties. While I understand wanting to spread our seating, no one even acknowledged us for nearly 10 minutes leaving us and the other parties wondering if they even noticed us. Once seated, we not checked on by our server, only saw at order and check. Important because we had a couple missing items from our order that we had to flag down multiple people for because we would tell someone who would "check on it" for us but still never brought out our missing items and maybe would have been noticed if we were checked on. Plus never had our waters refilled or anything of that. Drinks: these were either good or meh, with some of the coffee drinks like cappuccino or latte being well made, whereas others like the chai really just tasted like milk with some spice on top. Food: this was just about average. There was nothing too significant to report here, but it didn't exactly feel special or real reason to go again. To be fair, it was popular downtown as the weather was nice and the outside seating was popular, but for peak tourist and graduation season, there certainly should be more staffing to avoid issues.

'Pesto' salmon. DRY and absolutely zero flavor. I was very disappointed in this $24 entree. Do not order this.

Cute place, but the food has zero flavor. The salmon was dry, the mashed potatoes were grey, salmon chowder tasted off (I spit it out). Temperature on the burger was good, but the burger also lacked seasoning.

I came here on a Sunday with a party of six. At first I was having regrets because it took us a while to get seated and the host situation seems lackluster. However, once we were settled, the server was so kind and the food was incredible. Every bite was delicious and the prices were very reasonable.

Thanks Gavin and Oren for the Hawaiian music and listening to our turtle story and Thankyou for telling us your turtle story. What great service. We enjoyed our beautiful lattes and coffee and the food is outstanding.

My husband and I were in Ashland visiting my daughter, needed some Lunch and stopped at Greenleaf. Since we had our dog, Charlie, I asked to sit outside. The tables were clean and our waiter thoughtfully asked if we would prefer seating where lots of diners were, or less diners. We chose less and were seated at a high table by the creek. We had a delicious lunch, I ordered the vegetable curry with brown rice and added blackened chicken. The curry was a green Thai curry, lots of veggies and the veggies were still al dente and not mushy. It was delicious with the brown rice. Our server was so friendly and checked on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed for a good lunch. Loved the outdoor setting ... will be back!

    The meatloaf is pretty good.

This is our second visit to Greenleaf. This time we came with our friend, Peggy, arriving early on a Friday night around 4:30 PM. We received a friendly welcome and were seated quickly inside as it was too chilly to eat outside. Two of us started with the salmon chowder. It was good, but not as flavorful as we expected based on other comments. Between us, we ordered the salmon plate, the meatloaf, and the quesadillas. Our vegetarian friend really enjoyed her quesadillas and had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The salmon was good, but was a bit overcooked. The meatloaf is a pretty good dish as we had had it last time and it was also enjoyed this time along with the potatoes and sautéed veggies. Our server, Ruby, was very sweet.

Beef ribs over mashed potatoes with red wine reduction, honey had the "patty melt" w/herb crusted tofu. With Gorgonzola fries of course.

Service was prompt, helped us with our small dog. The food was amazing! Reminded me of my childhood. Had a very ratatouille moment! It was Halloween night, on a Friday, so town was so busy, but they weren't! Seated right away and helped immediately. Will definitely be back when we visit Ashland again!

Our second visit really was disappointing in service. Such a huge contrast from the first time. It was close to closing at the end of our visit, to be fair. But we should not be abandoned due to that. Food still great. My husband really likes the meatloaf melt. I had the trout salad substituted with salmon this time. It was very fresh and full of flavor. My boys really like the oodles of noodles. Brownie was exceptional!!! So gooey and rich! One other note: the server described the brownie as though it included ice cream but we were charged extra for ice cream. Not a problem in itself but better communication would be ideal in this circumstance. We will be back! Owner is wonderful and clearly cares about guests experience. BRAVO.

Greenleaf Restaurant is a must stop for us when we're in Ashland. The restaurant is super cute, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is out-of-this-world delicious! There are lots of clearly marked options for everyone. We recommend trying the soyrizo poblano scramble. It's so delicious and tastes just like chorizo and is super hard for us to stray from. Amazing! We'll be back soon.

Special oatmeal. Fresh fruits and almonds.

Love this place. My favorite is the polenta bowl, but thought I'd try the special oatmeal this morning. A great healthy breakfast. The service is always great and friendly. Love sitting outside when it is warm. Thanks.

The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. Definitely worth the small drive from downtown.

All this is to say that I was primed to enjoy the Breadboard. Great setting and views; in addition, the staff were friendly and pleasant. I ordered their omelette Olé, which was fine. But their home fries were flavorless, and one of the keys to a good diner is having your potatoes dialed in. Nope. I ended up at a counter, because they were busy, and the table service was sticky. Eww. Not uncleaned, but an old surface that has absorbed years of dirt and grease so that no rag will correct it. A bathroom wall was also sticky. Time to close down for a few days, get a crew in there to sand some surfaces down and restain or paint things. If they did that and paid more attention to their nondescript potatoes, they would earn five stars from me. But when the counter you serve customers at is sticky and uncared for, what must the kitchen be like?

She serves unique savory dishes, inventive desserts and beverages based on her knowledge of global seasonings, rooted in Mediterranean flavors. Most everything is gluten-free, locally sourced and made with spices originating from India, Indonesia, North Africa and the Middle East. I feel a certain kinship with Razia, since her dishes combine spices and flavors that aren't pulled from a cookbook or 3rd party recipe, but purely from her own creative chops, travels and heart. Before diving into her handcrafted chocolate bonbons filled with various creams and ganache (fair trade cacao BTW), I first enjoyed their French toast to prime my sweet-tooth. It comes with three slices of their house-made bread, soaked in an orange blossom custard, finished with a dollop of saffron whipped cream. Other menu items include: Lamb Pilaf with Saffron Rice, Turkish Eggs, Harissa Chicken Crunch, and a unique cardamom-spiced coffee to mention a few. I'll be back to try more! Truth...

We ordered the kebab sandwich and French toast. In total, this ended up being 5 slices of identical fried bread, accented differently. The French toast was not traditionally battered before preparation, so a bit of false advertising if you are expecting a fluffy exterior. It came with several clashing flavors of orange, mango, cardamom, and saffron. Not much subtlety and a little bit of flavor confusion. The kebab sandwich didn't match the menu, which described sliced beef, goat cheese, tamarind, and yogurt. It was rather a heavily cardamom spiced hamburger patty with salad, picked onions, and a light sauce. With missing internal components and no sides, not worth $20. The drinks were also a bit confused, with the aftertaste becoming cloying from too many competing spices and floral elements. While spice is the flavor of life, I'm not sure a spice-forward restaurant is my cup of tea. Perhaps spices should be used more as an accent than a staple.
